Joran van der Sloot: Aruban Authorities Speak with those in Peru
Yesterday, Aruban authorities spoke with Peruvian authorities about meeting with Joran van der Sloot. Joran claims he is willing to divulge now where Natalee Holloway is buried and exactly what happened that night 5 years ago.

Why should anyone believe what Joran has to say now? Dave Holloway and Tim Miller are in Aruba right now ready to search any area Joran suggests.
At the same time there are rumors that Joran’s attorney has resigned (see translation here).
Aruban authorites will be on their way to Peru soon:

Attorney Joe Tacopina & Julia Renfro Still Making Excuses for Murderer Joran Van der Sloot & Aruba
After all these years, attorney Joe Tacopina still making excuses for the murdering ways of Joran Van der Sloot. Another dead girl, this time the victim is Stephany Flores Ramirez and the usual suspects rush to the defense of Joran Van der Sloot and Aruba.
Joran Van der Sloot suspect in the murder of
Like any good defense attorney, Joe Tacopina is still making excuses for the accused murderer Joran Van der Sloot. This time Tacopina has to try and save face and wash the blood off his hands for the now stabbed to death 21 year old Stephany Flores who was found dead in a hotel room in Lima, Peru registered to who else but Natalee Holloway murder suspect Joran Van der Sloot. Now Joran Van der Sloot is a suspect again in another murder.
Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy
An attorney for Van der Sloot in New York City, Joe Tacopina, said he did not know his client’s whereabouts and has not been in touch with him since the Peru allegations emerged.
Tacopina cautioned against a rush to judgment.
“Joran van der Sloot has been falsely accused of murder once before. The fact is he wears a bull’s-eye on his back now and he is a quote-unquote usual suspect when it comes to allegations of foul play,” Tacopina said.
Van der Sloot was twice arrested but later released for lack of evidence in the 2005 disappearance of Holloway, who was on a high school graduation trip to the Caribbean island.
Click on the pic above to watch the VIDEO of Red, Steven Cohen and Joe Tacopina and hear Red make Tacopina agree with him. Is it any wonder that Joe would later refuse to debate Red on TV shows.
Tacopina is making the rounds again; however, just like when he defended Joran Van der Sloot in the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway, I am sure he will be ducking confrontational interviews going up against informed pundits.
VIDEO – Jane Velez-Mitchel
Joe Tacopina was on last nights Jane Velez-Mitchel on HLN once again defending the indefensible.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Joe Tacopina, you are the attorney for Joran Van Der Sloot. People are saying, wow, this is a growing body of evidence that connects him to the murder of this Stephany Flores Ramirez. It was his room. She was brutally murdered in a room registered to him, and then he flees. He takes off and tries to go to another country, and now they`re hunting for him. What do you say as his attorney?
JOE TACOPINA, ATTORNEY FOR VAN DER SLOOT (via phone): Well, listen, obviously, I don`t know enough about the facts to comment on this thing. I don`t think anyone does. You know, I`ve been reading articles as if they were proven facts.
I think if history teaches us anything, in the Joran Van Der Sloot case or cases, if you will, is that you sort of need to really wait and see what`s fact and what`s fiction. There have been so many false reports out there time and again regarding stated evidence and what not. And I think you really have to sort of step back and let this investigation take course.
You know, I don`t know — I don`t know what happened. I don`t know if he was there or if he wasn`t there, and I`m not going to sit here and say he certainly had nothing to do with this. I don`t know. But I do know that there have been enough false reporting surrounding this kid and his cases that I think you really have to step back and say let`s wait and see how the investigation, you know, progresses.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, I think I want to go to Stacy Honowitz, Florida prosecutor, to respond to that. Stacy…
…
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Why did he run?
TACOPINA: Again, who`s saying he ran? Who is saying he ran?
VELEZ-MITCHELL: Well, where is he? There`s an — there`s an international dragnet under way as we speak.
TACOPINA: Because he`s not in the locale that he was in two days ago does not mean he was on the run.
VELEZ-MITCHELL: All right.
TACOPINA: How do you know he didn`t have a preplanned — how do you know? I mean, that`s the point. Before we condemn — and look, I get it and I understand that he has a very short rope. And he should be a prime suspect if all I`ve heard so far is true, but before you go and convict someone, before you…
VELEZ-MITCHELL: I hear you. I hear you.

Then we have the other usual suspect making the media rounds shilling for Van der Sloot and Aruba, Julia Renfro of Aruba Today. (Full transcript -JVM) No Julia, let’s of pray to God that the Peruvian justice system is nothing like the one in Aruba … or the lack there of.
Julia Renfro, you`re the editor-in-chief of “Aruba Today”. What is the reaction in Aruba tonight to this stunning, new development?

Aruba Lied and another Girl Died … Joran Van der Sloot Suspect in the Murder of Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez in Peru … Joran on the Run
It’s deja vu all over again … Joran Van der Sloot a suspect in another girl’s murder. Who thought that he would kill again … Scared Monkey’s did!
Hey Joran … PERU AIN’T NO ARUBA … YOU CAN COUNT ON THAT SPORTER! WAIT TIL YOU GET TO PRISON.
There will be no Paulus Van der Sloot to cover up this crime
So Aruba, Joe Tacopina, Julia Renfro, Van der Stratten and the rest that adamantly defended Joran Van der Sloot in the obvious evidence against the Dutch boy in the death of Natalee Holloway. However this time Papa Sloot will not be able to clean up his “sporter” son’s mess. To all those who defended Joran Van der Sloot … think you do not have more blood on your hands?
Joran Van der Sloot, yes the same Joran Van der Sloot suspected of murdering Natalee Holloway in Aruba five years ago, is now suspected in the murder of 21 year old Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez in Lima, Peru. The 22 year old Dutch sporter is now the main suspect in the murder and is the focal point of a man hunt in South America.
Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez, 21, was found at the Miraflores Hotel Tac in Lima, Peru on Sunday in room registered to van der Sloot, who was arrested and released in connection with the disappearance of Holloway , an 18-year-old American student who went missing in Aruba five years ago this week.
The police press conference, Video of victim’s father and translated article regarding the murder of Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez and the search for Joran Van der Sloot can be seen HERE.
How is it possible that Joran Van der Sloot once again finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation nearly five years to the day. Many of the news accounts of the murder as Stephany Flores Ramirez sound hauntingly familiar to that of the disappearance and death of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. Casinos, poker, date run drugs and a murder, oh my … Stephany’s father stated that when his daughter’s vehicle was found, there were pills found inside.
Joran Van der Sloot was in Peru attending a poker tournament in an exclusive section of Peru. Stephany Flores Ramirez left her friends at about 2:30 am and returned to the casino and met back up with Van der Sloot and was seen going back to Joran’s hotel room at 5:00 am. She was never seen again … sound familiar!!!
Guardia said the 22-year-old Dutchman, in Peru for a poker tournament, appears with the young woman in a video taken at a Lima casino early Sunday and the two were later seen entering the hotel by one of its employees.
The victim’s father, circus empresario and former race car driver Ricardo Flores, says his daughter dropped off some girlfriends at 2:35 a.m. then apparently returned to the casino. She and van der Sloot were seen entering the hotel room about 5 a.m., said Guardia, and the Dutchman departed alone about four hours later.
Joran Van der Sloot is reported as being the last person to be seen with Stephany Flores Ramirez, as he was Natalee Holloway. However, this time there is no Papa Sloot to bail is behind out of hot water. Unlike in the case of Natalee Holloway where Joran, Paulus, the Kalpoe’s et all had time to clean the situation where “some thing bad happened” this time we are witness to what occurs where there are no adults to sanitize a murder.
Van der Sloot left Peru on Monday by land, Guardia said, his exit registered at the Santa Rosa border crossing. He had been staying at the hotel since May 14, having entered on a flight from Colombia, the police general added.
The victim’s father is a 48-year-old former president of the Peruvian Automobile Club who won the “Caminos del Inca” rally in 1991 and brings circuses and foreign entertainers to Peru. He ran for vice president in 2001 and for president five years later on fringe tickets.
Interpol has issued an international arrest warrant for van der Sloot, Dutch Foreign Ministry spokesman Bengt van Loosdrecht told The Associated Press in The Netherlands.
Jossy Mansur, Managing Editor of Diario in Aruba has posted on the Joran Van der Sloot bizarre story as well.
The murder and man hunt in South America for Joran Van der Sloot comes nearly five years to the date of the disappearance and death of Natalee Holloway. Over the weekend Beth Holloway, Natalee’s mom, discussed her daughter’s death and commemorated his legacy with the Natalee Holloway Resource Center.
Joran Van der Sloot’s luck just ran out as there is no more complicit Aruba to help cover up his crimes. Joran’s word as he knows it is over. It appears that Joran Van der Sloot has done the reverse Aruba murder this time. He had the mistake of killing the daughter of a prominent father in Peru. Kind of a role reversal of the murder Joran was linked to in Aruba where his father Paulus was the prominent and influential one.
Make no mistake about it … Joran Van der Sloot has met his Waterloo.
So is this just another case of a misunderstood Joran Van der Sloot?

UPDATE I: Joran Van der Sloot on the run from authorities.
Just like innocent people lie as Joran Van der Sloot did in the case of the disappearance and death of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, so do innocent people flee the country where they are wanted for questioning in the stabbing death of a 21 year old girl found in the room registered to who else, Joran Van der Sloot. Below is a translated article (from Scared Monkeys.net forum) describing the fleeing from justice of Joran Van der Sloot.
Ica (Peru.com) .- Ica Three drivers moved to Arica revealed that the Dutchman Joran van der Sloot, who is accused of killing the young Stephany Flores (21), daughter of racer Ricardo Flores Chipoco, in a hotel in Miraflores .
This was reported to RPP Noticias Carlos Alberto Uribe, who said that the foreigner asked to take Nazca, where he hired two drivers to take him to Chile.
“De Nazca to Tacna paid 500 billion suns and Tacna to Arica gave us 280 suns. We learned who he was by the news,” the driver told the radio station.
It should be noted that Van der Sloot smoked constantly and will only sleep on the trip but all I got to tell was that he lived in Aruba.
“I was in shorts and white sneakers,” said one of the Aparcana Pisconte, those employed by the Dutchman to take you to Arica.
It emerged that Van der Sloot planned to travel to Cuzco on Sunday, but argued that he “spent the bus” and mysteriously changed its route south of the continent.
UPDATE II: Interpol has issued and international arrest warrant for Joran Van der Sloot.

Natalee Holloway, Missing in Aruba 5 Years Later … Beth Holloway Fights on for Missing Persons
Five Year ago …
Natalee Holloway went missing on May 30, 2005 when she was last seen leaving Carlos n’ Charlies on Aruba with Joran Van der Sloot, Deepak Kalpoe and Sataish Kalpoe. Our first post covering the disappearance of the Mountain Brook, Alabama high school graduate Natalee Holloway was entitled, “This Can’t be Good for Tourism, Where is Natalee Holloway?” No truer words were ever spoken and the affects of a crime like the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in turn created what can only be one of the most incompetant and corrupt cover ups ever witnessed.
For an Island paradise that prides itself on sandy beaches and a constant trade wind, the last thing they would want is bad publicity of an unsafe island. However, An Alabama high school student, Natalee Holloway, disappeared during her graduation trip to Aruba.
For month after month and year after year the family, friends and millions of people who grew to know Natalee Holloway as their own sister, daughter, cousin or niece saw the injustice of what was occurring in Aruba. So much that today, the last three people ever to be seen with Natalee Holloway walk free. Who knew, actually some did, that Natalee Holloway’s family would have to battle law enforcement, the tourism bureau and certain Aruban media in the quest to find Natalee? Justice was replaced by cronyism as Natalee’s family battled obstacles every inch of the way. However, just as the three suspects were arrested, they would later be set free.
The roller-coaster ride of the search and investigation to find Natalee was like some thing one would read in a fiction novel. So much injustice that even when the prime suspect in Natalee’s disappearance confessed to the crime, not once but twice … Joran Van der Sloot still is allowed to walk a free man and charged with no crime. In Aruba, if you lie enough … you are considered not a suspect.
Trailer for the Natalee Holloway movie,
For five years Scared Monkeys has backed, supported, searched and done every thing we could for Beth Holloway and the family in order to help provide answers and justice for Natalee. There have been so many calls and discussions with Beth to provide what ever help we could. So many efforts behind the scenes to aid in what ever way possible to help in what ever way possible to provide … JUSTICE FOR NATALEE.
Much more can be read, reviewed at Scared Monkeys.net: Natalee Holloway.
Five years later, Beth Holloway fights on for missing persons. On a personal note, Beth is one of the strongest and most determined individuals I have ever met. However, there are those other moments when she is nothing more than a mere mom who is desperately trying to find her beloved daughter. It is those moments that your heart breaks for her. However, Beth remains resolute in her quest to help the missing and their families. God Bless you Beth.
Her mother, Beth Holloway, who has worked tirelessly to keep attention on her daughter’s disappearance, will be in Washington in June to announce the opening of the Natalee Holloway Resource Center, a new nonprofit to assist families searching for missing relatives.
The center will be based at the National Museum of Crime & Punishment on Seventh Street NW near Chinatown and the Verizon Center. The museum features Holloway’s disappearance in its “Cold Case” exhibit.
The nonprofit plans to serve as a crisis clearinghouse for families of missing persons in the United States and abroad, according to a statement from the museum. The nonprofit plans to give family members a plan, contact information, a media liaison and other services. It also will offer guidelines for children and adults to travel safely, including creating a national network of college volunteers who will promote the group’s safe travel program to high school and college students.
Natalee Holloway Center to Open in D.C.: Crime Prevention, Help Families of Missing, Among the Goals.
Five years later and Beth Holloway is still looking for answers and justice for Natalee. She is also providing resources for other families that might suffer the same terrible situation of finding one of their loved ones a the victims of a missing persons.
God Bless Beth, and we are always behind you.

Lifetime Movie Network: Natalee Holloway story … Missing in Aruba Since May 2005
The Lifetime Movie Network will be airing the Natalee Holloway story on Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 8 pm ET and 9 pm PT. Encores April 20 at 12 pm ET/PT.
Scared Monkeys has followed the disappearance of Natalee Holloway from the beginning. The very first post regarding the disappearance of Natalee was entitled, This Can’t Be Good For Tourism, Where’s Natalee Holloway. The reason for this title was because from the outset of this crime we knew that Aruba would do everything to preserve their tourism as opposed to provide a competent investigations, answers and “Justice for Natalee.” Sadly, we were correct in our presumption as to this day Aruba has not tried any of the suspects, who were last seen with Natalee Holloway leaving Carlos N’ Charlie’s.
The Lifetime movie is based on Beth Holloway’s book, “Loving Natalee: A Mother’s Testament of Hope and Faith.”
Satish Kalpoe, Joran Van der Sloot and Deepak Kalpoe; last people ever seen with Natalee Holloway leaving Carlos N’ Charlie’s
Teenager Natalee Holloway vanished in 2005 while visiting Aruba on a senior class trip. In a passionate and relentless effort to discover the truth behind her daughter’s disappearance, Beth Holloway captured the nation’s attention by working tirelessly to solve the mystery that shattered her family’s life. Today, Holloway continues to speak publicly about the potential dangers of international travel. Her resolve and unwavering strength are at the center of this emotional story that takes viewers behind the headlines and into the heart of an extraordinary woman.
From the outset of Natalee’s disappearance Beth Holloway has embodied the strength, will and determination of mom’s across America who fight to the end when someone messes with their child. Never in a million years did Aruba, the government officials, the police or those responsible ever think that Beth would persevere.
In July 2005 when Beth Holloway and the family had met so many obstacles, we wrote the following inspirational post to Beth, ‘A Note to Beth: Don’t Give Up, Don’t Ever Give Up’. The continued stone walling efforts by the suspects, tourism and government officials and investigators were constant. It would have been easy and understandable to give up. Instead, Beth Holloway had only just begun.
All one needs to do is look at Natalee’s mom to understand and know what true courage is in the face of adversity. The strength that Beth has shown even when times were more difficult than others can only make one admire her as a mother and a person. I have never met Beth nor ever spoken to her although I wish I did have the privilege and opportunity. I would just like to take the moment to say that Tom, I and the many Scared Monkeys that have never met you are solidly behind you in support and hope.
When Natalee Holloway went missing and became the face of missing persons, she became everyone’s sister, daughter, grand daughter and cousin. In the process Beth Holloway became everyone’s mom and Aruba was permanently branded as corrupt and the face of missing persons crime.
