Aruba: One Alcohol Intoxicated Island … Should Bars be Responsible for Over Serving?

Does Aruba have a right to complain about the over consumption of alcohol when they do nothing to regulate the serving to minors or the quantity in its bars and clubs?

SM CnC close view

Does Aruba have a culture of over consumption of alcohol? We are constantly told by the “pro-Aruba” media that it is the tourists fault for their over consumption of alcohol. However, how does that explain its own citizens? The recent  article in Amigo expands on this very issue as there was a rash of individuals needing medical attention at Horacio Oduber Hospital.SM Alternative to glass at CnC face

The personnel of Horacio Oduber Hospital was very busy from December 21 to 26.  The reason was mostly consumption of too much alcohol.  At least 28 victims of traffic accidents were brought in, versus 12 last year.

Why does Aruba promote the over-consumption of alcohol when it makes them a profit and then complains and blames the victim and makes accusatory comments like Gerald Dompig did against Natalee Holloway when that over-indulgence causes crime?

Why does Aruba not make its drinking establishments responsible for the amount The_Falls_Barof alcohol it serves like HERE, HERE or HERE? Let alone what may be slipped into someone’s drink unexpectedly. Do bars in Aruba care whether they serve people under age? In another much publicized case in America, the rape and murder of Imette St. Guillen, The Falls bar lost its liquor license and was closed down after under age sales and after hours violations, due to the clamor arising from a crime that occurred.

The closing may have been accelerated by the murder case but the bar was ultimately shuttered under a Police Department nuisance abatement action. The court order cited the bar for three instances of selling alcohol to a minor and one charge of selling alcohol after hours since the start of the year.

So why does Aruba continue to promote the excesses of alcohol in their drinking establishments and provide no criminal consequences when crimes occur? The answer is money is more important than health and safety.

In Aruba its not About the decrease in Tourism, but the Increase in Drugs

Natalee Holloway Missing in Aruba: Renée Gielen … You Sad Pathetic, Misguided Attention Seeker, Blame the Victims

Why Natalee Holloway will haunt the island of Aruba forever, until there is “Justice for Natalee.”

If anyone in Aruba, including the many that email Scared Monkeys stating that we only post negative comments about Aruba, want to know why your island has such a negative perception … you only need look at the words of Renee Gielen.

The lies in the book and the many other doubtful claims and occurrences in the past 2.5 years made me think: Has Beth really wanted Natalee to be found?”

Over 2 1/2 years after Natalee Holloway went missing in Aruba while on a vacation with her teenage classmates, we still get this kind of dribble and insanity from people who would wish to throw mud at a missing person and the mother of a missing child. How pathetic could one possibly be to make these accusations? I suppose Dave Holloway and the rest of the family members did not wish to find Natalee either?

If this “so-called” documentary maker had a real clue, then they would know that Natalee’s case in Aruba is no different than many missing person cases in the United States like Taylor Behl, Julie Popovich, Imette St. Guillen, Michelle Gardner Quinn and the list goes on and on and on. The Natalee Holloway case was not unique or a mystery in what occurred. What was unique was how authorities handled the case. The only difference is, for some reason in Aruba when all signs, evidence and logic point toward the suspects who were last seen with Natalee Holloway and lied about their whereabouts, that makes them innocent. Like a person who abducts and murders a victim ever first admits their guilt. All of the above missing person cases that turned to murder cases all have the same MO. Except in Aruba, people like Renee Gielen wish to blame the victim and the family for a tragedy.

The defend Aruba to protect its precious tourism and the three suspects at all cost as Gielen continues to do for the attention and Aruba’s tourism will never go back to what it once was. No one needs to hear the insane rants and the blaming of a family of a missing child when they have already suffered the worse thing that life has to offer, a parent burying a child. In this case that could not even occur.

Stepha Henry, 22, Missing in Florida … This case Sounds Familar to Some Others

Twenty-two year old Stepha Henry has been missing since May 29, 2007 in Fort Stepha_HenryLauderdale, FL. Stepha Henry’s case has some similarities of a couple of other high profile missing person cases that we have covered. Stepha Henry attended a reggae concert on May 29, 2007, her parents saw her get into a man’s car and her parents have never seen nor heard from her again. This story has many similarities to Natalee Holloway. She went to a club in Fort Lauderdale called  Peppers Cafe and has been missing ever since.

In a strange twist of irony, the case of missing Stepha Henry also has similarities to Imette St. Guillen. Henry was an honors graduate of criminal justice from John Jay College and planning on going to law school. St. Guillen was a forensic-science student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
