Israel Keyes Commits Suicide in Jail having Confessed to Murder of Samantha Koenig and Vermont Couple Bill and Lorraine Currier … Linked to Seven Murders
Confessed serial killer commits suicide.
Israel Keyes, the man who was suspected in the murder of 18 year old Samantha Koenig and also confessed to the murders of Bill and Lorraine Currier of Essex, Vt, was found dead in his Alaska jail cell of an apparent suicide. He has been linked to seven other murders in three states. Keyes was facing a trial in March 2013 in Anchorage federal court for the kidnapping and murder of 18 year old Samantha Koenig. She was abducted from a coffee kiosk in the city last February. Her body was later found in Found in Matanuska Lake. Israel Keyes is also reported to have confessed to the murders of Bill and Lorraine Currier of Essex, Vt. Their bodies have never been recovered.
Israel Keyes, who had also confessed to killing a Vermont couple, was found dead in his cell Sunday, authorities said at a news conference that included U.S. Attorney Karen Loeffler, the FBI, and Anchorage police.
Keyes was facing a March trial in Anchorage federal court for the murder of 18-year-old Samantha Koenig, who was abducted from a coffee kiosk in the city last February. He was later arrested in Texas after using the victim’s debit card.
Anchorage police chief Mark Mew said Keyes confessed to killing Koenig, as well as killing Bill and Lorraine Currier of Essex, Vt.
Keyes revealed his past crimes in dozens of hours of interviews conducted after he was arrested for Koenig’s death, officials said.
“He did tell us that he had killed other people and that there were bodies of up to four other people in Washington state, as well as a body disposed of in New York state,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Kevin Feldis said after the press conference.
There may be even more murder victims, Feldis said.
Good riddance to bad rubbish!!!

Criminals rejoice … ‘America’s Most Wanted’ Canceled … WHAT A SHAME!
What a shame, Fox has canceled the long running crime TV show, ‘AMERICA’S MOST WANTED’. For years every Saturday night John Walsh and the AMW gang have presented and informed America with the stories of crimes and the faces of people that we should be on the look out for. Sources say that AMW will have specials instead of a weekly show. John Walsh, the victim of crime with the loss of his son Adam Walsh, has hosted the show for its entire 23 year run.
Good news for criminals: Fox is cancelling its long-running crime-stopping series America’s Most Wanted.
The series profiling men and women wanted by law enforcement agencies has been on the air since 1988 and consistently wins its time period. A few years ago it announced the capture of its 1,000th criminal.
When it comes down to it, it’s all about money. It is hard to believe that such a show in this day and age of crime, fugitives, sex predators and dirt bags cannot make a profit. As Hot Air reminds us, this isn’t the first time that Fox wanted to cancel the show. Although there are certain aspects of the show that need to be retooled and made to be made for ‘real time’, the concept is there and I am sure that AMW will find a nwe home maybe on Lifetime or Tru TV. The major networks are too busy running reruns of the Simpsons and reality TV to air such a show on a Saturday night. Although, one would think that FOX News would have room on the weekend as opposed to showing some of the programming they air.
America’s Most Wanted has a good chance of finding a home someplace else. The show averaged 5 million viewers this season and a 1.7 rating in the adult demo — pretty impressive for a Saturday, though that number was down slightly from last year. The main issue with the show wasn’t its popularity, but the cost of production.
We can only hope that America’s Most Wanted’ lands on another network. Shows of this importance and significance need to be on TV. A note to network execs … AMW is real Reality TV.

Child sexual abuse makes billions of dollars every year for pornographers. Why shouldn’t reporting it make money, too? As for political benefits, the topic makes most people squeamish, which can backfire in politics, as it does at dinner parties when I talk about my work. It’s just not the kind of thing people like to think about – no matter how strongly they may feel about tougher laws and better justice for victims.
- Robin Sax - Discussing the Charlie Sheen saga and his rants against and firing at the hands of CBS as well as other “high quality” people.
