Daily Commentary – Monday, June 15, 2015 – Some in the Media are Just “Out to Lunch” … CNN Anchor Fredricka Whitfield Called the Dallas Gunman “Courageous and Brave”
- Like CNN Anchor, Fredricka Whitfield who called the Dallas gunman “Courageous and Brave”. WTF?
UPDATE I: The CNN anchor was forced to backtrack following the furrow that ensued from the comment … claims she misspoke.
Misspoke? This liberal media fool purposely used the words “Courageous and Brave” to describe the Dallas gunman who fired upon the police. Now, because of the backlash against her she is coming up with the lame apology of, I misspoke. Whitfield told views on Sunday, “I in no way believe the gunman was courageous nor brave.” REALLY … THEN WHY DID YOU SAY IT!!!
CNN host Fredricka Whitfield has addressed the controversy surrounding on-air comments she made during coverage of the shooting at Dallas Police headquarters, saying she “misspoke.”
“Yesterday, during a segment on the Dallas Police Department attack, I used the words ‘courageous’ and ‘brave’ when discussing the gunman. I misspoke,” Whitfield told viewers on Sunday. “I in no way believe the gunman was courageous nor brave.”
LEFTWING MEDIA HAS GONE TOO FAR THIS TIME … CNN’s Brooke Baldwin Blames Military Veterans for Baltimore Riots (Update: Apologizes on Twitter. Finally on TV)
LIBERALISM TRULY IS A MENTAL DISEASE … WELCOME TO THE DEMOCRAT-MEDIA COMPLEX.
While doing an interview with Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) in the midst of the turmoil on the streets of Baltimore, CNN’s Brooke Baldwin had the audacity to blame military veterans for the Baltimore riots. WHAT? This liberal media-insanoid literally blamed vets coming home saying, “I love our nation’s veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don’t know the communities, and they are ready to do battle.” Really, you love them, I would hate to see if you didn’t love them what you would say. Welcome to the LEFT-wing media of today that does not report the news, but instead tries to pain a narrative that does not exist. Sorry, ESPN suspended foul-mouthed ESPN reporter Britt McHenry went off on a tirade on a impound lot employee, CNN should fire Brooke Baldwin for these false and ugly comments. But they won’t because this is the hate and bias that consumes liberal media outlets today.
Hmm, so what is Brooke Baldwin’s message, or should i say smear … Don’t hire vets because they are too unstable to be trusted? But don’t worry, she loves them.
After more than a year of CNN pouring gasoline all over America with hysterical, and oftentimes phony, stories of American racism, the left-wing network’s afternoon anchor Brooke Baldwin finally took it to the next level by blaming American veterans for the Baltimore riots.
In a pathetic suck-up interview with Democrat Congressman Elijah Cummins, Baldwin never once had the moral courage to ask the failed Baltimore City congressman if the left-wing policies ushered in by a half-century of a Democrat monopoly in Baltimore might have something to do with the city’s ills. Instead, she said of young military veterans who become police officers, “I love our nation’s veterans, but some of them are coming back from war, they don’t know the communities, and they are ready to do battle.”
The context was a discussion about increased training and retraining for the Baltimore police.
There’s no question Baldwin is hoping to launch a narrative with that smear.
UPDATE I: Brooke Baldwin apologized like a coward hiding behind her Twitter account. Sorry Brooke, you don’t get to make such inflammatory, hateful and defamatory comments like you did stereotyping our brave American vets on TV and then apologize on Twitter. What a brave soul you are. Get your butt on TV and apologize. Then I want you to go to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, she’s not that far away and apologize in person to wounded vets.

CNN’s Brooke Baldwin this morning may have done the impossible: Deliver a mea culpa that the nation’s apology police cannot possibly puncture, dismantle, nitpick or otherwise trash.
Sweeping, tendentious nonsense. Baldwin offered no evidence to support her case that somehow battle-scarred veterans from recent wars were responsible for any of the policing problems in the country’s big cities, let alone in Baltimore. People on the Internet let her know of their disapproval. Baldwin’s first response was a bit weak:
That defense doesn’t work at CNN, which sells itself as a purveyor of straight-up journalism around the clock. So what if some hack “vocalized” a concern to Baldwin? Isn’t it her job to filter that concern, fact-check it and pat it down before “re-vocalizing” it?
Given some more time to think about it all, Baldwin this morning came around. Early this morning, she tweeted.
On CNN’s “New Day” program Baldwin said the following:
I made a mistake yesterday. We were in the middle of live TV, I was talking to a member of Congress, and I was recounting a story, a conversation I had had recently just referring to police. And I absolutely misspoke, I inartfully chose my words 100 percent and I just wish speaking to all of you this morning: I wholeheartedly retract what I said. And I’ve thought tremendously about this, and to our nation’s veterans, to you — this is just who I want to speak with this morning — I have the utmost respect for our men and women in uniform. And I wanted you to know that this morning, so to all of you, I owe a tremendous apology. I am truly sorry.
Sorry Brooke if I don’t believe a word of your apology. You meant every word you said, and that’s okay, just own it. You are a bed-wetting liberal who doesn’t know any better and repeats hateful BS. That’s okay, just say it.
EXIT QUESTION: Replace “VET” with “BLACKS” and does Brooke Baldwin have a job this morning?
- Contrary to O’Reilly’s claims, CNN has published a recording of O’Reilly from the 1970s that indicates he was not present outside the Florida house where an associate of Lee Harvey Oswald committed suicide.

Sen. John McCain Defends ‘Low-Life Scum’ Remark to Code Pink Protesters … If the Low-Life Scum Fits, Wear It
HEY TOOTS, IF THE SCUM FITS, WEAR IT!
Sen. John McCain appeared on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’ Sunday morning and defended his comments calling the Code Pink protesters low-life scum. The CNN host asked McCain if that was the way he would handle it again. McCain responded with the following:
“These people were physically threatening. I am used to people popping up at these hearings and yelling and escorted out. That’s at least some version of free speech. These people rushed up. They were right next to Henry Kissinger, waving handcuffs at him. He’s a 91-year-old man with a broken shoulder who was willing to come down and testify before Congress, to give us the benefit of his many years of wisdom. Of course I was outraged and I am still outraged. Its one thing to stand up and protest, its something else to physically threaten an individual, particularly an individual who has served so much for his country, whether you agree with him or not.”
But the CNN host just could not let it go, she said, but you called them scum. As if that was the end of the world. Forget the fact that this out of control mob tried to physically threaten a 91 year old man, he concern was someone’s word. McCain responded by saying, “I think they are terrible people. Okay, I think they are terrible people that would do that to a 91 year old man with a broken shoulder, to physically threaten him. That is beyond any norm of behavior that I have ever observed. They literally surrounded him and were physically so in such close proximity to him that he was in danger of being harmed.”
He said the protesters — one of whom held handcuffs above Kissinger’s head — put him “in danger of being harmed.”
“These people were physically threatening Henry Kissinger,” McCain told CNN’s Dana Bash Sunday on “State of the Union” as he defended his comments.
“I’m used to people popping up at these hearings and yelling, and then they’re escorted out — that’s at least some version of free speech,” he said. “These people rushed up. They were right next to Henry Kissinger, waving handcuffs at him. He’s a 91-year-old man with a broken shoulder who was willing to come down and testify before Congress, to give us the benefit of his many years of wisdom. Of course I was outraged, and I’m still outraged.”
- For the 13th year in a row, Fox tops cable news with CNN and MSNBC in the cellar. CNN ratings are at an all time low in 2014.
THE WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION …
For the 13th year in a row, the FOX News channel is the most watched cable news network for 2014 outdistancing the competition by a long shot. It is pretty bad when all three competitors CNN, MSNBC and HLN do not combined add up to FOX’s numbers.
As 2014 draws to a close, FNC celebrates its 13th consecutive year as the most-watched cable news network, though it too had its disappointments. In total day, FNC is down 4% in total viewers (1.05 million) and same percent in news demo viewers, though it finished laps ahead of its competition in both metrics.
FNC rings out the year ranked No. 4 among ad-supported basic cable networks in overall primetime audience, behind only ESPN, USA Network and TNT; it also ranks No. 4 in total. CNN and MSNBC are way back in the 20s and 30s.
“We’re going to keep opening up our aperture, while investing in original reporting on the broad range of stories that move and inspire Americans,” Griffin said in that memo to staff and LAT.
Fox News remained on top in 2014, capping off its 13th consecutive year as the most-watched cable news network among both total viewers and the A25-54 demo. FNC averaged 1.05 million total viewers and 213,000 in the demo. FNC beat CNN and MSNBC combined in both total day and in primetime in viewers
The ratings for 2014 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):
- Primetime (Mon-Sun): 1,748,000 total viewers / 300,000 A25-54
- Total Day Mon-Sun): 1,050,000 total viewers / 213,000 A25-54
MSLSD MSNBS MSNBC had a terrible 2014.
2014 not only saw MSNBC’s ratings drop more than any other cable news network, but it was also the year it finally started to trail CNN in most major metrics.
In the primetime demo, MSNBC was down 17% to 169K, putting it solidly in third place. In primetime total viewers, MSNBC held on to second place but still fell 8% to 589K. The network’s total day numbers are even worse, dropping 18% in the demo to just 108K and 12% in total viewers 347K.
Despite being MSNBC’s highest-rated hour, The Rachel Maddow Show at 9 p.m. still hit all-time lows since its 2008 debut with 843K total viewers (down 2% compared to 2013) and 196K viewers in the demo (down 18%). Those drops were nothing compared to Morning Joe, which had its lowest-rated full year on record with 347K total viewers (down 15%) and just 100K viewers in the demo (down 26%).
Sir Charles is correct again … “We never discuss race in this country until something bad happens.”
In an interview with CNN’s Brooke Baldwin, Charles Barkley defended his previous comments that he said regarding the no indictment grand jury decision in Ferguson, the police and rioters. Barkley reiterated that he does not believe that white cops are out to shoot black people because of racism … ”That’s ridiculous.” Some, like Van Jones, have found his words inflammatory (VIDEO). Wow, that’s rich. Van Jones is one to talk about irresponsible and inflammatory comments. In typical fashion Jones misrepresented what Sir Charles previous said. What a shock from some one who used to be in the Obama administration. Sorry Van Jones if the truth hurts.
During the interview Charles Barkley made a very powerful and truthful comment, “We never discuss race in this country until something bad happens.” He is correct. When something bad happens the issue then becomes polarized and spun to the agenda of the liberal MSM and race merchants.
The basketball analyst for Turner Sports and former NBA great isn’t backing away from comments he made on the radio recently that people who torched buildings in Ferguson are “scumbags” and some blacks degrade successful African-Americans too often as not black enough.
Barkley also agreed with the grand jury’s decision not to indict former Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson, who is white, for fatally shooting an unarmed black teenager.
In an interview with CNN’s Brooke Baldwin on Tuesday, Barkley repeatedly came back to one point: He doesn’t believe that white cops are out to shoot black people because of racism.
“That’s ridiculous,” he said.
Barkley called for dialogue, and not just after a controversial incident like the Michael Brown shooting.
“We never discuss race in this country until something bad happens,” he said. And even then it usually reflects a “tribe mentality.”
Ben Shapiro of Breitbart News Nails It … Ferguson, MO Grand Jury Verdict of No Indictment for Officer Wilson Explodes Media’s Lying Racial Narrative
THE LYING LIBERAL MEDIA HAS THEIR FALSE RACIAL NARRATIVE EXPOSED …
For a great read of a post-analysis of what transpired in Ferguson, Missouri and the liberal media’s lying racial narrative being exposed for the garbage it was, check out Ben Shapiro’s, Senior Editor-At-Large of Breitbart News, article at Breitbart.com … ‘Ferguson Verdict Explodes Media’s Lying Racial Narrative.’ As many times before, the MSM tried to create a story that belied the facts. The media ran with an out of control white cop who killed an innocent and unarmed black young man, a “gentle giant.” They ran with the story, not because it was true, but because they wanted it to be true. It gets old that we are continually told the same race-baiting story. It is Ben Shapiro’s final analysis that nails the media for the lie that their racial narrative truly is. Believe it or not, “every black man shot by police is not a Selma marcher.”
Truthfully, the angry and sullen reactions of those who wanted Wilson tried are understandable. They’re understandable because most Americans live in the evidence-free narrative created by malicious media liars, and the politicians they enable. They live in the evidence-free world of the political left, which maintains that America remains deeply racist, that every white cop is Bull Connor, and that every black man shot by police is a Selma marcher. So long as they live in that world, racial reconciliation will remain a dream, and racial polarization will remain a tool of the political and media elite to sell papers, raise cash, and drive votes.
Ferguson Verdict Explodes Media’s Lying Racial Narrative:
Just as the media did during the George Zimmerman trial and in the aftermath of Zimmerman’s shooting of Trayvon Martin, the media attempted to cram the square peg of the Wilson-Brown shooting into the round hole of white police racism. That meant portraying Brown as the latest sainted racial victim; this time, rather than the Trayvon Martin narrative of hoodies, Skittles, and iced tea, the media hit upon the notion that Brown was a “gentle giant.” The Brown family, Al Sharpton, MSNBC, CNN, The Washington Post, and other major media outlets ran with the story that Brown was a “gentle giant” who wouldn’t hurt a fly.
Then, it turned out that Brown had robbed a convenience store minutes before his altercation with Wilson.
Similarly, the media trotted out the story of Dorian Johnson, Brown’s friend, who said that Brown held his hands up in surrender after being shot in the back, and that Wilson executed Brown. The entire media ran with that one originally; the lie spawned an entire “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” movement. Of course, it later turned out that Johnson had helped Brown rob the store, and that all available autopsy evidence contradicted Johnson’s story.
But never mind: the media had somehow turned the true story of Michael Brown – the story of a 6’5”, 289-lb. 18-year-old strong-arm-robbing a convenience store, confronting a police officer and attempting to take his gun, running away, turning back to charge that officer, and being shot multiple times – into the story of Emmett Till. Never mind that there was not a single shred of evidence suggesting that Wilson targeted Brown based on race; never mind that Brown matched the description of the robbery suspect because he was the robbery suspect; never mind that Brown attacked an officer twice. No, this was a pre-ordained narrative for the media: white racist police officer strikes down young black unarmed man. The result of that overwrought and outright false media-generated controversy: extended riots in Ferguson.
The story beat the facts. So the media ran with the story.
So did President Obama. In 2013, Obama told America that Trayvon Martin could have been his son; in this case, Obama told the United Nations that riots in Ferguson represented America’s nasty racial legacy.
As the grand jury verdict neared release, the media built up the story. We were warned of riots if Wilson escaped indictment; Erin Burnett of CNN said that such a verdict would be the “nuclear option.” Nancy Grace of Court TV helpfully added that Michael Brown’s height did not “mean he was a violent teen.” And the Brown family attorney, Benjamin Crump, openly stated that the grand jury was corrupt, long before the verdict.
Predictably enough, the Michael Brown case fell apart the moment it hit the legal system. It turns out, as Robert McCulloch said, that evidence still trumps media hype in the legal system – at least sometimes.

Even Former Obama Mouthpiece Jay Carney Admits that Emperor Barack Obama Flip-Flopped on What The One Can Do on Immigration
YOU KNOW IT IS BAD WHEN EVEN YOUR FORMER CHIEF SPINMEISTER SAYS YOU FLIP-FLOPPED AND CNN QUESTIONS OBAMA …
Jay Carney, Barack Obama’s former Press Secretary, when asked what had changed for President Obama on immigration, he said that Barack Obama is doing a 180 today on what he has said he could do in the past. While appearing on CNN’s 360 with Anderson Cooper after Obama’s immigration executive order speech, after being confronted with video of Obama’s past comments on immigration, Carney stated, “I think if he could have his words back, especially where he specifically talked about suspending deportation. That is literally what he is doing today.”
CNN Host, Anderson Cooper:I just want to play again the presidents past comments on this because clearly there is a stark distinction on what he said tonight and what he said in the past. [VIDEO]
CNN Host, Anderson Cooper: Other than his frustration, what has changed. I mean he is a Constitutional scholar, what has changed that allows him to do this?
Jay Carney: Here is what I say, think if he could have his words back, especially the first clip, where he specifically talked about suspending deportation. That is literally what he is doing today.” In later instances, including when I was there, he would speak very carefully about what he could not do as president.” [editors note: Carney was Obama's Press Secretary from January 27, 2011 to June 20, 2014.Who the hell is he kidding about Obama was more careful as to what he could and could not do? Watch the video below and see the dates of Obama's remarks. They are March 2011, September 2011, September 2013 and February 2013. Every single one of the Barack Obama's comments was made when Carney was is press secretary. But this is what Obama and his minions do, lie, lie and when caught, lie some more.]
The above video cuts off the last part of the discussion; however, this one (VIDEO) does not. Carney further goes on to say that, “He Obama] can’t change the law. He can’t provide a path to citizenship. He can’t do the things that only Congress can do.” Then Carney does what any uber-Lib does best … Carney defended Obama’s actions, even though he just said Obama couldn’t do them.
AMERICA … ONCE AGAIN OBAMA HAS “GRUBERED” YOU!
