LMN – Lifetime Movie Network

Scared Monkeys has followed the disappearance of Natalee Holloway from the beginning. The very first post regarding the disappearance of Natalee was entitled, This Can’t Be Good For Tourism, Where’s Natalee Holloway. The reason for this title was because from the outset of this crime we knew that Aruba would do everything to preserve their tourism as opposed to provide a competent investigations, answers and “Justice for Natalee.” Sadly, we were correct in our presumption as to this day Aruba has not tried any of the suspects, who were last seen with Natalee Holloway leaving Carlos N’ Charlie’s.

SM CnC close view

The Lifetime movie is based on Beth Holloway’s book, Loving Natalee: A Mother’s Testament of Hope and Faith.”

Aruba 3 suspects

Satish Kalpoe, Joran Van der Sloot and Deepak Kalpoe; last people ever seen with Natalee Holloway leaving Carlos N’ Charlie’s

Teenager Natalee Holloway vanished in 2005 while visiting Aruba on a senior class trip. In a passionate and relentless effort to discover the truth behind her daughter’s disappearance, Beth Holloway captured the nation’s attention by working tirelessly to solve the mystery that shattered her family’s life. Today, Holloway continues to speak publicly about the potential dangers of international travel. Her resolve and unwavering strength are at the center of this emotional story that takes viewers behind the headlines and into the heart of an extraordinary woman.

From the outset of Natalee’s disappearance Beth Holloway has embodied the strength, will and determination of mom’s across America who fight to the end when someone messes with their child. Never in a million years did Aruba, the government officials, the police or those responsible ever think that Beth would persevere.

Hollowayfamily_Nat_Beth1

In July 2005 when Beth Holloway and the family had met so many obstacles, we wrote the following inspirational post to Beth, ‘A Note to Beth: Don’t Give Up, Don’t Ever Give Up’. The continued stone walling efforts by the suspects, tourism and government officials and investigators were constant. It would have been easy and understandable to give up. Instead, Beth Holloway had only just begun.

Holloway_family_Beth_Nat_Beach

All one needs to do is look at Natalee’s mom to understand and know what true courage is in the face of adversity. The strength that Beth has shown even when times were more difficult than others can only make one admire her as a mother and a person. I have never met Beth nor ever spoken to her although I wish I did have the privilege and opportunity. I would just like to take the moment to say that Tom, I and the many Scared Monkeys that have never met you are solidly behind you in support and hope.

When Natalee Holloway went missing and became the face of missing persons, she became everyone’s sister, daughter, grand daughter and cousin. In the process Beth Holloway became everyone’s mom and Aruba was permanently branded as corrupt and the face of missing persons crime.

I really want to see this but it is unavailable at the present time except on this channel that I don’t get. Perhaps they will release to a video I could purchase or they will sell it to
a bigger network so that I can watch it.
There is still alot if interest and also OUTRAGE at what happened to Natalee. God Bless Beth, Jug, Matt, Dave, Robin, John Q Kelly and everyone who got involved. The names of the posters, well there are too many, but thank you Red, Mrs. Red and of course Klaasend who has kept this place together.

I have the PRAY FOR NATALEE AND HER FAMILY – MISSING IN ARUBA bumper sticker that has her
grad pic on it, it is on my nightstand.

Nat is the first thing I think about when I wake up in the morning, and the last thing I pray about when I go to bed each night.

I tell her that I love her with all of my heart, and I will never ever give up on her, even if it
takes 25 years to hunt these ashos down and plug
      some hot caps into them.

I feel her reply back each time: She is saying
to me, hang in there, be strong, they all will
absolutely be reaping what they sowed in the coming years. It is all happening precisely
like it is supposed to, on God’s watch.
Revenge is a weakness, and nobody will
be able to drop the hammer of justice on
them like He can! The time is still coming,
so please continue to be patient for me.

      -Justice 4 Natalee Ann &
      the entire Holloway family
(my heroes – the whole crew)

      Grace Blessings!

Kat_Gram – Below is the link to the Lifetime Movie Network:

      http://www.lmn.tv/

To the left of the screen there’s a “Top 5 Videos” and a “Buy it Now” link. The Natalee Holloway Movie is not on the list now, but may be soon. You could try one of those. I had to upgrade my Dish package so I could watch the movie tonight.

I’m anxious to see what new facts this movie will reveal. Something tells me it will open our eyes to some of the horrors Natalee’s family has had to endure and will enrage the public that much more. I sincerely hope this movie will DAMAGE Aruba’s tourism industry to the point of no return!

      JUSTICE FOR NATALEE :-)

    6. St Stephen on April 19th, 2009 9:28 am

I sure hope the movie protrays the actual chain of events instead of showing Aruba as doing all it can to find the killer. You know how perverse Hollywood can get when making a “docu-drama”.

I just hope that it’s not an extended travel commercial for the island of Arube.

      Justice for Natalee. BOYCOTT ARUBA!!!

      Dear Beth,

Everytime I think of your beautiful dughter I shed a tear. Through all of this you have remained strong and made sure that her life had purpose. In that you have given the world many great gifts. Knowledge of Safety, Hope, Unity, A call for Justice and Faith in knowing that one day the wrong will be made right through the grace of God. May the Lord Bless you and bring justice for Natalee soon. I will watch tonight and say another prayer. God Bless you and your family.

      Justice for Natalee

    12. Maggie on April 19th, 2009 2:26 pm

I will be watching also.. I have Lifetime Movie Channel on my cable.. I really don’t watch it..but this past week I was checking to make sure when this was on and everytime I turned it on , the movie playing in the bottom right hand corner always had..The Natalee Holloway Story and the day and time it is on. I think of Natalee and her family every day also.. and the lowlifes in Aruba involved in this story. They know who they are..running down back alleys, hiding their faces, sweating, lying and lying, trying to make money off of Natalee.. Finally the real story and not Renee’s crockamentary..

    13. EURobert on April 19th, 2009 3:33 pm

Wish I could see it tonight. Is there no possibility to see it on the wwweb?

    14. HOPE on April 19th, 2009 4:13 pm

I hope it shines more truth about what happened in Aruba. Until we know, we will always seek her out. I agree with with all of you, there’s a time for everything. In time, all our heartfelt prayers will be answered by God. Nothing goes hidden from Him. Not, even, a sparrow can fall from the sky without his knowledge. He knows every hair on our heads by number and the stars are his footstool.

I heard the movie will be re-aired often. I also noticed today’s movie line up. All the movies are dedicated to missing children, parental abduction and, of course, international kidnapping.

      Justice for Natalee!

    15. kirsten on April 19th, 2009 6:09 pm

wwhy isn’t this being shown on the regular lifetime channel? I really want to see it. does anyone know if it will be shown anywhere other than the lifetime movie network….its not fair for people who don’t have that channel :(

    16. Crioyo (in Aruba again) on April 19th, 2009 6:31 pm

Hi Hope, everything is fine down here on Aruba. Looking forward to the movie premiere on LMN, in the next 50 minutes I believe.

The reviews I’ve read so far have not been very positive. As far as it being the real story, I am curious about how they go about the ending. But nonetheless I think many locals will be glued to their tv’s tonight. Let’s see what comes out of it.

    17. nhgsdss on April 19th, 2009 7:03 pm

the reason it’s not on regular channels is because the athorities are doing the arubans another favor, your lucky it’s on any channel at all.how can you have a slave if her face is on every t.v in the world.plus the tips it might generate would mean having to ignore the phone at the f.b.i for another four years

Please keep us posted when it airs on the Lifetime basic cable network. I cant get it… it seems to be a Lifetime premium channel.

I am so upset that I do not have access to the LMN. I have waited all week to watch this not realizing it was unavailable in our area. I have a daughter her age who will be leaving for college in the fall and wanted to watch it with her. As cautious as we teach our children to be they sometimes make choices not realizing what can happen in certain situations. Sometimes we all put too much trust in people. My heart and thoughts go out to the Holloway family. No one should have to go through the terror and heartache they experience daily. May Natalie’s story save another girl or boy.

Come on Tracy Pollan.. if you’re going to make a movie like this and promote it on ” The View” and I am sure other outlets, shouldn’t we be able to see it?????

Wow what a good movie !!! I am pretty sure every one here will agree the producers hit the nail on the head with this one !!! There where several scenes that made me lose a tear or twenty but all in all the y nailed what urin vandercrap did. They even had some creepy guy in the beginning fondle the girls while they danced on there first night on the island. KInd of funny how the creepy guy looked like paulass vandercrap !!!

I have waited all week long to watch the story. They have been showing preveiws of Natalee’s Story all week long on Lifetime. Now I find out I dont have the right Lifetime channel to watch the movie. Why would they show previews on the regular Lifetime channel for this movie. I’m so dissapointed.

I looked foward to the movie. All through the movie,I knew what would happen next. I haved followed this story so closley. It was as though I had seen the movie before. Aruba should be thankful, alot of key names were left out.I feel as though alot was left out. Myself, I feel,Jorans last confession was true. IMO

I wanted to take a few minutes to say I have a daughter who looks alot like Natalee with her beautiful long blonde hair. My daughter is so outgoing. The life of the party. I worry about her so much that what happened to Natalee could so easily happen to my daughter. Please see my daughters myspace to see why I worry everyday. <AmyBarnes<3 My daughter wasn’t book smart so she’s trying to get somewhere on her looks. I alway’s think of Natalee when my daughter tells me about her exciting life. A Life time of worry.

    30. KCinTX on April 19th, 2009 9:56 pm

I just finished watching the movie, which is based on Beth’s book. I thought they did an excellent job in telling Natalee’s story. For those of you unable to watch it, it ended with Peter DeVries (Spelling) the investigator from Holland that had video taped Joran confessing as to what happened – as we learned when it broke news. As you may recall, Joran had stated that they were on the beach and she began having convulsions. He called a friend and they took her out to sea by boat and dumped her body (not knowing whether or not she was alive or dead). The final segment of the movie showed clips of Beth telling Nat’s story to high school seniors and college students advising to be careful and not trust strangers when abroad.
The thing that doesn’t make sense to me is the current hunt in the pond and the witness passing the two lie detector tests (this was not mentioned in the movie). Maybe Beth believes Joran’s story and Dave doesn’t, I don’t know.
The fact still remains that there has not been any justice for Natalee – Aruba is one “unhappy island,” – and our boycott still needs to be set in place because Aruba did not arrest Joran and place him behind bars. IMO, Joran will suffer his own hell here on earth; and will pay the ultimate price for his sins, by rotting in hell upon his death. Our God is a just God.

I too am 100% furious with myself for NOT checking my cable provider or the TV show schedule list to ensure the movie would be actually shown tonight, not just promoted. Along came 8 p.m., and I searched almost 250 channels…….my superdooper cable company did NOT schedule it. All for $187 a month. Just wait until Monday morning, you won’t want to be on their side of the phone call I intend to make. I am furious.

    33. KrisG on April 19th, 2009 10:22 pm

I’ve been waitng for this movie all week and when I tried to watch it found out that there are actually 2 Lifetime channels. I called Comcast and was able to add it to what I have right over the phone instantly. So, if you have Comcast as your cable provider you can call right now and see the movie tonight at 11:00 pm CT. There’s a promotion going on now and for 6 months I’ll be paying $10.00 less that what I’m paying now. This is true for the western suburbs of Chicago I hope it is for whatever area you are trying to see it. The young lady who helped me said she know many people wanted to see the movie and included herself and her mom in that group.

What an awesome tribute to Natalee’s life that was. Loved it! 5 out of 5 stars.

There will be a few that do not like the movie.

Simple reason for that. They think with the same
kind of filthy infected logic as the pieces of
dirt who took Nat’s life. To hell with them,
      they are shite refined.

I don’t know if you’ve picked up on it yet or not… but many of them are illiterate on top

message for the holloway family,mr chavez the president of venezwala is so eager to please mr obama at this point in time,if your smart, you’ll use this opportunity to contact him and explain your plight, with his power in south america I ‘m sure if natalee is there,he can certainly find her, most of arubas government run criminal activity is based in venezwala,in the northern part of the country, they have bien able to get away with it because the american and venezwala were enemies, but now it;s a differnt story,PLEASE use this opertunity to further your cause,oh and by the way you have an e-mail address on this missing persons page, some one has disconnected it,or it might have bien porposely never connected, anyway hears the web address http://www.visitaruba.com/facts/newsdesk/missing.htm

    39. nhgsdss on April 20th, 2009 1:49 am

interestingly if you click on the web address I gave in last post also doesn’t work.so you have to go to google and write aruba missing persons, once there it’s the very first page google provides.THANK-YOU for your time

    40. SUPER DAVE on April 20th, 2009 8:04 am

#31: you are a few years too late. the boycott has been and still is and always be there since aruba thumbed their nose at this case.
you might as well get used to it. just think about it like this. what if it were my daughter missing in this stinkhole ? you would be doing all the things a loving parent like beth is doing or would you ? i have to wonder.

    41. SUPER DAVE on April 20th, 2009 8:47 am

#38: just in case you haven’t heard, your mr. obama has already stated that Natalee was just a white girl missing in another country and has shown no compassion what so ever.it’s funny that people would think that since obama and chavez are nob polishing it would help Natalee’s case ?
i believe obama’s comments were something in the nature of “why should i be worrying about one white girl missing when there are hindreds of black girls missing also”? they don’t make the news because so few of their parents put out the effort that Beth did to find Natalee.

    42. Dolf on April 20th, 2009 8:57 am

Dave, I think you would do the samething as what I would do if my child is missing.

and it aint going to be pretty

    44. ayfit on April 20th, 2009 9:25 am

What bothers me the most and always has was the ten day law. Remember when the law in Aruba did not react for ten days after Natalee’s dissappearance. This was not mentioned in the movie. This was nothing less than clean up time for Joron and his dad. This process did away with any time line process. As I recall, the officials said they monitored a suspects movement for ten days before reacting. Is this something I dreamed or did this happen???

    45. PCSC on April 20th, 2009 9:49 am

I must say that I was a little disappointed with the movie. I have followed this case since the first day. I guess it’s just hard to portray four years of pain, disappointment, and conspiracy that this family has had to endure into the short time the movie was on. It truly could have been made into a mini-series! What I’m trying to say is that there was too much left out. But, hopefully it will get the focus on Natalee once again in the news. I still pray for her family everyday. Justice will prevail someday in this case!!

    46. HOPE on April 20th, 2009 9:59 am

      Hey, Crioyo!

I’m glad you dropped in to say Hi!

I had mixed feelings about the movie but am glad there’s still alot of interest in attaining justice for Natalee.

      God Bless You,

      Patti

      P.S.

      You’re welcome here, anytime…

    47. ayfit on April 20th, 2009 10:01 am

I feel like Natalee’s body most certainly would have been found if not for the clean up time [10 days] given to the Vandersloots. I recall an aparent shallow grave near the fisherman’s hut. I feel like Natalee’s body was moved more than once. I have always had problems with the 10 days allowed for clean up. Shallow graves,2;00am car washes etc. Simply put CORRUPTION. This is why the boycott should go on and on and on!!

    48. Steve Holloway on April 20th, 2009 10:01 am

Well I think things in the movie could have been a little different, like the guy who played Dave could have looked and acted more like him.

Dave is not a weak willed person, he is humble and yet strong. He seems quiet, but his actions are louder than words. He did not give up looking for his little girl.

He was the one who physically looked for Natalee, in the caves, along the coast line, in the worst places you can think, like the city dump and nasty smelly ponds.

Who did you see looking in the brushes and over rough terrain? In the land fill? Dave looked by air, land and sea. He did not give up. He would go home for a day or two, put come right back to this hell hole and nightmare.

HE had to deal with a justice system that was helping cover up a crime for one of there own.

So…other than that the movie was good.

Just watched the movie on the youtube-bigjuicykungfu-network (except for the 3rd part: “This video is not available in your country.”)

Good movie. Only… What was not in the movie was the corruption of PvdS and judicial friends (or was that in the 3rd part?).
But I’m even more convinced now that Natalee was drug-/gang-raped and probably even murdered by hitting her with an object on the head (the Kalpoes said Natalees head was hurt?). Maybe because she awoke during the assault. I think she had the ‘seizure’ then. What was said in the movie was right in my opinion: there probably was a very strong reason to dump Natalee’s body somewhere she couldn’t be found.

You can’t squeeze everything we have followed over the past 4 years into 2 hours, but to make Dave Holloway look like they did was ridiculously inaccurate. I hope he knows that we all know that.

Far too much left out. What about the interview with Greta,Beth,Paulas, and Anita. This was signifigant. What about Jossy Mansour? Where was Renfroe,Vanderstratten, and Dompig. I think this movie is more aimed at safe travels for teens than for damageing Arubas image.I think the movie should do both.IMO – However this could be too time consuming.

I figured it out. Part 3 contains material
that is copyrighted, which makes it restricted
      to US viewing only.

      You Tube text:

Your video, Natalee Holloway Aruba 3, may have video content that is owned or licensed by Lifetime Entertainment Services.
As a result, your video is blocked everywhere except in these locations:
      United States

It seems kind of futile to do that though, huh? Especially when we live in a world where changing your IP address is so easy and you can appear to come from wherever you wish.

      Suggestions?

    66. dotratc on April 20th, 2009 4:59 pm

In retrospect, if you believe what was depicted in the LMN movie, Natalee was not kidnapped, raped or murdered; the Kalpoes are completely innocent of any wrongdoing; and the Aruban police did a good job weeding through the lies.

WTH was with the portrayal of Dave Holloway? I agree with Steve Holloway about that. Dave was depicted as a cheapskate who bailed out of the searches and investigations after just a couple of weeks. We all know that was not true.

Guess you’re right about the copyrighted material. But let’s look at it from the ‘bright’ side: I saw 7/8th of it! So that’s a lot better than nothing!

Suggestions? Well, not really. Only: I remember I posted a video – coincidently PRdeVries’ first show on Natalee Holloway – in one piece at Veoh.com two or three years ago or something. If you in the future are looking for an alternative for youtube… You can post High Quality .avi or .divx vids on Veoh.com if I remember it right. But they may have m.o.l. the same rules on copyrights? So…

      Thanks again anyway,

      To Steve Holloway:

I will never forget Dave searching for Natalee in all of the places you mentioned. It was absolutely heartbreaking. Also, Tim Miller commented not long ago about recalling Dave searching under trash in a well in Aruba on Natalee’s birthday in 2005. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/23301056/page/3/
I think I still have a picture from that day somewhere too.

There is no doubt in my mind that Dave would do anything humanly possible to find Natalee, I admire him for that.

There is no excuse for the pain that Dave, Beth, and all of Natalee’s loved ones have been through for almost four years now. The powers that be in Aruba seriously underestimated this family. None of the usual tactics to detour a family’s pursuit of Justice for their loved one has worked with them. They won’t go away and forget about their precious Natalee and the crimes that were committed against her when she visited their island. They won’t accept that she never came home, even if only for a proper burial.

      I won’t either, EVER!

Merry (Post #31) For the Record, I boycott unsafe areas of the U.S. as well. When visiting an unfamiliar city, I always inquire which areas to avoid. Aruba is a beautiful place and there are wonderful people there … the problem is the corruption and knowing that almost anyone has no protection from a select few that seem to run the island “their way.” I feel very sorry for the decent people that live in Aruba, for they are regarded as less important and whatever happens in their lives does not really matter to those that are greedy and corrupt. I am really surprised that Holland has not cleaned house there yet. Unfortunately, there are greedy and corrupt people from around the world that enjoy being a part of what goes on in the ABC islands; drugs, sex, money laundering and just plain evilness and greed. And all the good people are the ones that lose out the most. It was shown in the movie and it is common knowledge to us that there were many Arubans trying to find Natalee. I don’t have a problem with the common people of Aruba; so please don’t think I do. I do not hold you responsible and I am sorry you are being penalized because of the corruption.

      Mr. Merryweather

You just do not get it!

The Natalee Holloway story … four years later … is not about a crime encompassing the disappearance of an American on Aruban soil. Crime happens everywhere.

It is about a corrupt Aruban investigation riddled with conflicts of interests … a corrupt Aruban investigation that harboured a coverup agenda … a corrupt Aruban investigation where accountability and justice were never the objective.

In December, 2008 … the Aruban Minister of Justice confirmed.

      ++++++

Van der Sloot father hindered Natalee probe’
      Thursday 04 December 2008

Dutchman Jan van der Straten, who was police commissioner on the Caribbean island of Aruba when US teenager Natalee Holloway disappeared, seriously hindered the investigation in the first few days, Aruban justice minister Rudy Croes is quoted as saying by news agency ANP.

ANP says Croes claims Van der Straten was slow to take action in order to help his friend Paul van der Sloot protect his son Joran, who was suspected of being involved in the disappearance. Such rumours have circulated on the island for some time, ANP says.

According to ANP, Croes made the statement following criticism of the Aruban police force made by Van der Straten earlier this week.
      Questioning

Croes said that Joran and two other suspects were only taken in for questioning 10 days after Holloway went missing ‘when the first days are crucial in a disappearance’. And he claims he heard Van der Straten say ‘I cannot do that to my friend Paul’.

Croes also claims there were a lot of telephone conversations between Van der Sloot senior and Van der Straten and that a ‘second class’ police team was put on the investigation. ‘It was the team used during the carnival celebrations,’ ANP reports him as saying.
In addition, Croes accuses the Dutch government of failing to provide any moral support to Aruba. He says the Aruban authorities were pressurised to present Joran van der Sloot as an Aruban, not a Dutch national.

#73, I think commenter #66 was saying was that if you believe the way Lifetime portrayed certain things that happened, then you believe alot of things that everyone knows are probably not true (i.e. the Kaploes being innocent; the cops ACTUALLY trying to help instead of sitting on their arses). Not that he/she agreed that this is the way it actually went down.

I thought the movie was ok. I have been reading this blog and following this case since May 2005, so I felt like it was fairly accurate. The one thing that I will agree with some posters is the portrayal of Dave Holloway. Yes at some point he did have to return to his life and job but they made it seem like he jumped ship early on! I would be a little put off.

Natalee Holloway film badly received by American press
      20 Apr, 2009, 16:38 (GMT -04:00)

ORANGE CITY – Last night was the TV movie “Natalee Holloway” was first shown by the television channel Lifetime Movie Network.

The all in South Africa shot film, based on the book Loving Natalee, concerning the disappearance of Holloway in Aruba, through the eyes of mother Beth was in the American press poorly received. Alec Harvey Birmingham News calls it a “sloppy, unstable and quickly forget ‘look at the story. The scenario, according to Harvey ‘cheesy and manipulative are.

When asked what the impact of the Natalee Holloway movie in the U.S. tourism will be responded marketing manager of Aruba Tourism Authority (ATA) Frits Israel: “The representatives now to the Annual Tourism Conference 2009 have been familiar with aruba. After Holloway disappeared, we have great support and assistance of their received. This effort and assistance ensured that the number of American tourists continued to grow after the Holloway incident. Next week will be monitored on the American tourism. If we say strange things, the necessary measures. The fact that Holloway film a movie based on the truth is that it does not like the film depicts, was done. It will be for a number of debates concerns. And impact on tourists who already had a negative image of Aruba. ”
Israel says that if action should be, ATA ready. Meanwhile Arubans on Facebook created an action to protest against the film and how it is portrayed Aruba

They are pissed it was shot in South Africa so nobody would have to waste a dime on their killing / raping toilet of an island!!!

      -Justice for Natalee

    85. HOPE on April 21st, 2009 12:11 am

The boycott was launched against the government of Aruba who acted in accordance with recommendations made by the ATA (Aruba Tourism Authority) to keep the truth about what happened to Natalee hidden. Anytime a country puts tourism revenues ahead of the tourists themselves, there should be a boycott. It was never meant to hurt the common people and quite frankly, it was never meant to last so long.

Those that remember what they did to Natalee and her family will continue to boycott the island until there is justice. We’ve not grown weary in our stance; nor have we grown tired. Aruba has had ample reason to put this chapter of its’ history to a close… but, even today, they continue to look the other way and ignore the actions of Joran Van der Sloot and his family which only serves to strengthen our resolve.

Is Joran still in hiding now after his episode in Thailand?

I think Aruba should setup a memorial to Natalee’s memory. Maybe, a small church and prayer center by one of the beaches.

      Steve

Dave and Beth have had the same objective all along … answers to the questions encompassing the events of the morning of May 30, 2005 … the morning their daughter went missing.

However … the respective journey each loving parent took and are taking to arrive at the final destination … ANSWERS … were and are completely different.

There was a meeting of the minds regarding the request to replace the investigative team as well as the call of a volunteer boycott of travel to Aruba but … for the most part … each parent did his/her own thing. Hey … Dave even backtracked on the boycott issue.

I did not appreciate the scene where Dave left to return home vowing never to return to Aruba. Although … that scene may have revealed the truth … it did not tell the whole story. Dave did return to Aruba. One of those return trips was to personally take part in the search of the Aruban landfill for his daughter.

Considering that both Dave or Beth upheld each other in their respective books as well as on the talk show circuit … could it be that maybe crucial segments were omitted in the editing process.

      Sincerely, Janet

      Super Dave

It was Rev. Wright … Obama’s pastor for twenty years who referred to Natalee Holloway in those racially motivated dispicable comments,
      _______

      ELECTION 2008
      Obama’s pastor disses Natalee Holloway
‘White girl goes off and gives it up’ in Aruba, preacher pal says
      January 28, 2005

Sen. Barack Obama’s longtime friend and spiritual adviser trashed the memory of a missing and presumed dead American teenage girl, according to church publications reviewed by WND.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the controversial minister of Obama’s church in Chicago, cited the case of Natalee Holloway’s disappearance in Aruba in complaining about what he sees as the media’s bias in covering white victims of crime over black victims.

“Black women are being raped daily in Darfur, Sudan, in the Congo and in Sub-Saharan Africa. That doesn’t make news,” Wright said in the August 2005 edition of Trumpet Magazine, a publication of his Trinity United Church of Christ.

But, “One 18-year-old white girl from Alabama gets drunk on a graduation trip to Aruba, goes off and ‘gives it up’ while in a foreign country, and that stays in the news for months!” he added. “Maybe I am missing something!”

The circumstances involving the coed’s disappearance remain unclear, and the case remains unsolved. Holloway left Mountain Brook, Ala., on a May 2005 senior class trip to Aruba.

Attempts to reach her family for comment were unsuccessful. But her mother, Beth Holloway, has written a book, “Loving Natalee,” in which she reveals her daughter named Jesus Christ as one of the most influential people in her life in a trove of writings she found in her bedroom.

You misunderstood. I do not think that it was Beth’s intention to take a jab at Dave. In my opinion … Beth possesses too much class and integrity. Continuing to be a voice for Natalee is her focus … not undermining Natalee’s father.

Beth and Dave never revealed any negative underlying dynamics of their relationship in their respective books or on the talk show circuit. Therefore … it is my belief that the scene where Dave vowed never to return to Aruba was based on truth. However … it is my contention that the editing process may have resulted in the viewers not being informed of the whole story … the story that he did return … returned to search the landfill for his daughter’s remains and … that is unfortunate.

First off… Steve Holloway I agree.. that guy reminded me nothing of Dave..and I think it didn’t portray Dave as we know him.. I know he went back more than once and spent much time looking for Natalee including in the garbage dump through rotten trash in the heat.

I was disappointed in that it didn’t show Deepak’s car behind the sloots at the start…and then gone.. Paulus woke up from sleep carrying his cellphone to the door and wouldn’t you know he needed it..Paulus leading everyone away from the house on a wild goose chase looking for Joran..and Joran and Deepak at the house..Paulus sweating at the table when Beth went to the house and Anita was describing all her trash.. Paulus and Anita tell everyone Joran is just a sporter that gives her three thick kisses on the mouth, and he don’t smoke or drink..Paulus taking his underage son to the casino and bar and Joran having a pass to enter underage.. Jacobs asking Dave how much money does he have..Deepak’s car at the police station when Beth and Jug arrived and Deepak says they talked to Paulus a bit and then went home…not mentioning being at the police. Paulus saying on Nova, Joran again sneaked out the second night.. and yet in his police statement, he says he gave him permission to go out to gamble underage again..and still nothing done to Paulus. The friends with Beth and Jug who were on tv and said Straten said to them.. how can I do this to my friends son.. I could go on for pages and pages…but I do suppose it’s hard to get it all in 2 hours.. Did you see the woman who played Greta? She looked about 21. I liked the movie and it did portray some of the looney stuff that took..place..It did make it clear how not one person was really working to find answers for them..just lying and making up stuff to protect their image and bring in more money.

As for Aruba…if they don’t like the way they are being portrayed, well maybe you should’ve thought about that before you held up signs telling a mother looking for her daughter who was victimized in Aruba…to go home..Even Oduber who lied..

The movie didn’t portray the Kalpoes as lily white as someone above says.. They had a choice and they chose to drag this out..lie about the guards also…lied about Natalee and her condition… where they took her..said they cleaned their car for ants then sand before daylight after working all day going out half the night..on the night Natalee disappeared..lies and more lies while a beautiful 18 year old girl is missing…and who knows if her life could be saved except for the one’s who did it.. Rememmber Paulus saying within 24 hours..without a body, they have no crime.. to the boys..and Janssen saying.. she was looking at this as a sex crime.. rape and murder…and Steve Cohen saying at least 2 of these boys had sex with Natalee.. and he expected them to be charged with rape and murder. He said that after he said he was briefed all the time on the case.. Or Deepak saying Natalee put her hands down his pants..to throw off an investigation before there was one..or the calls and chat sessions Mos was talking about?.. I can’t imagine sending the family of a missing girl around to dangerous crackhouses with money and false tips , what the hell is the police’s job in Aruba? Loonies like Julie R..running around putting out lie after lie about the victim’s family just like the Ahata..portraying Joran as a choir boy.. Please tell me one person in Aruba who stood up for Justice for Natalee..~~!
      Bunch of clowns and bozos…

Aruba says they love the FREE publicity. Do they mean the bars, drug dealers and whore houses we saw on TV.

Aruba under reports crime, together with the utter absence of responsive authorities, combined with overwhelming poverty and mass criminal activity, suggests that what happened to Natalee is just the tip of the iceberg.

Natalee isn’t just missing, she was admittedly “RAPED”. Rape is a way of dehumanizing someone, it is sometimes termed “worse than death”. It means supremacy, we are better than you. And possession, we own you.

Can’t you hear that in Joran’s answers and also those of Aruba.

Good decent people run from Aruba my friends. IMHO it’s not only flat, rocky and ugly, it’s full of thieves, rapists and drug mongers.

“Real Happy Island” – in a drug induced coma is more like it!

    100. LegalWatchdog on April 21st, 2009 6:42 pm

Why can’t Aruba? 1) Stop all criminal activity; 2) call the criminals what they are; 3) secure accountability to the Holloways for what was done to Natalee; and 4) change laws and take citizens and visitors security on the island seriously.

Why must they? 1) Shove what really happened under a rug; 2) continue to dehumanize Natalee’s human rights which have already been violated; 3) insist on putting it behind them, instead of stopping, naming, remedied to the extent possible, remembered, and used to make change?

What can we do to help Aruba realize a need for change? Send the message “LOUD AND CLEAR – BOYCOTT”

    101. LegalWatchdog on April 21st, 2009 8:14 pm

I am very concerned for Aruba’s lack of human rights. Their government needs to ensure the safety and security of their citizens (non-dutch born) and all visitors.

The game that’s played on Aruba is little more than cover up and confuse who is doing what to whom and thus condone drug trafficking, prostitution and organized crime.

It’s time for the world to ask Aruba’s justice system, what are you doing?

Violence and criminal activity is systematically tolerated by their government. Anyone who wants to stop something can not ignore law’s ability to do nothing while looking like it is doing something.

We need to communicate to Aruba the need for change. It would be to their native citizen’s benefit and to all visitors.

This is why BOYCOTTING ARUBA would be helpful not harmful.

This is why I have boycotted all Dutch islands since May 2005. It’s time for Aruba to change.

    102. Sparks on April 22nd, 2009 12:53 am

I wondering if we can petition Mrs. Obama or Sec. of State Clinton to look at the case of Natalee Holloway again. Put pressure on Aruba with an embargo on travel. Things have changed with the undercover work of De Vies. Joran has done criminal activity and confessional statesments since leaving Aruba.

I felt like Joran might have used scuba gear to place Natalee in a cave somewhere on the south west side of the island, but I never read about the area being searched.

Carpe #107, we are not surprised more tourism funding for ads and promotion are being formally requested. Oduber must surely be absolutely thrilled. His administration and governmental departments have shown to be abject failures on so many fronts.

We posted this prediction here on several ocassions and warned that our sources correctly pegged a horrible 4th quarter ’08, no winter business, severe Q1 for ’09 and follow up decline thru the balance of ’09. The boycott effort is alive, mostly silent, and doing very well. The global recession could not have come at a more appropriate time. Aruba has been punished financially for what they did to Natalee and her family and it will continue until someone in authority does what is right. Until then, Aruba will be beaten into the ground and be shunned by the world community. Count on it.

In consultation with traffic and tourism agency ATA Ahata organization, the public space to people infected with the swine flu could be contained. People who are seriously ill, are not included in the hospital for further contamination, but near the hospital.
Department of Health, which has led in the prevention, says that it is possible for people, including travelers, quarantine them. “We do not store any alarm, but are now taking precautionary measures so we will not last in the queue if we have two weeks or drugs and protective need. We are small and dependent on outside to get to this stuff. Therefore, we ordered as if we all need, “said Director of Gellecum Trevor. Moreover, should any of the drugs, U.S. drug Tamiflu, not more than 20,000 units exported. The other drug is ordered in the Netherlands, it still does not know how many health Aruba can get.

There are four drugs on the market against viral Flu as swine flu can be used. These are two proven resistant. Moreover, there is no medicine against swine flu. In Aruba, these medicines are not in stock because they are not often used and too expensive. In addition there are 300 suits for medical staff. According to Van Gellecum it is now especially important that people avoid infection by washing hands often and foot caps to help if someone in the neighborhood has flu symptoms.

The medical care in Aruba by Department of Public Health is informed about the latest developments. The hospital, GPs and other healthcare facilities must report if they identify a suspected case. Of these persons, a blood sample is taken and tested but not in Aruba to the lab of Caribbean Epidemiology Center (Carcec) sent. It takes 3 to 7 days before the outcome is known. From Gellecum said yesterday at an emergency press conference that no blood samples were taken.

There was this young lad on 21 or so years named Joran. One day in the not too distant past in the heat of the day, he discovered that that there was a hole in his bottom. “How interesting,” he thought.

He pondered this hole he had found. He studied it almost constantly. “Where did it come from? How did it get there? What is it’s significance? Does it have some deep hidden meaning? How unique I must be, because I have this hole in my bottom.”

Then one day as he was walking along the beach in Aruba, he discovered a hole that a small rodent must have dug. “It looks just like mine”, he thought. This must be where the hole in my bottom came from. They are identical in every way.”

Moral of the story—Joran can’t tell his a$$ from a hole in the ground.

5140—Is this the guy who lived on the same street as the Vandersloots?

Natalie….I have been consumed with your case for the last 5 years. I think about you daily. I am 22 years old and have gotten in cars with strangers and have led a very trusting life being from a small town in Missouri. I want you to know that because of what has happened I have been extra cautious in my life. I have taken self defense classes and was able to use them as I was approached in my residence elevator while going home one night at about 3:00 am. I never would have taken those classes if I hadn’t been so obsessed by this case. My attackers words to be exact were “you are never going home again”. He was arrested that night as I was able to get away and he will hopefully never have the chance to do that again. I moved out of the building two weeks later. Thank you Natalie for showing me what I needed to do!! Although I never knew you…you saved my life and were there in a strange way. You are an angel keeping girls safe all over the world. I will continue to follow your case until he is brought to Justice. I believe that God was with you in your final moments. You were in peace. He is a good God and would not allow it any other way.

Saw this movie and it amused me and shocked me when I saw the part when her mom and Natalee where shopping for her clothes to her class trip and her mom was influencing her to buy short skirts and tops and bikinis. Humm…

Really?!?!? Probably the worst movie ever!? Look people go missing every day! Peole get killed. Crazy murders out there. I feel bad for there family but shit happens!!!!!! Not to the family but to all the idiots who care so much about a story about a dead girl!!! Wake the f up. How bout you focus on people dying or in the streets and help them. Not sone random girl who is fat but still borderline decent and make a difference. She’s not the first probably won’t be the last (unfortunately) but that’s f’ing life.
