Aruba was Warned about Dependence on Tourism … How About a Dependence Upon Cronyism?

Maybe they should have warned Aruba about a heavy dependence on cronyism and cover ups of missing person investigations that would provide negative that PR that no tourism marketing campaign could combat.

Maybe they should have warned Aruba against defending the indefensible. Because what is good for the three suspects who were last seen with Natalee Holloway, who has never been seen nor heard from since that encounter, is terrible for Aruba and its tourism.

Placing all your eggs in one basket is a sure receipe for certain disaster. Both the eggs and Aruba’s economic foundation is about to be beaten.

Underwater bathymetric surveys are explorations conducted using special multibeam sonar installed
on custom boats. (The Persistence.) These underwater surveys provide detailed topographic data of the sea floor. Underwater erosion which is not clearly visible from above the surface, is revealed by the highly sensitive multibeam sonar imagery.

The survey’s ultimate purpose is to provide
bathymetric data to supplement the above-water
topographic data collected during previous aerial surveys. Together, these data will assist in the geotechnical evaluation of the sea floor.

      Just so yah know……….

yeah F-off Aruba! Wallets are closed til dooms day! Seems like a rush to close the case. Does anyone think that Persistence has a real beat on where Natalee was dumped besides Dr. Hodges subconscious brain account of Deepak’s “confession” email? They seem pretty confident and I sure hope they find her.

Anyone care to speculate on whether or not the so-called “case” will be reopened in the event that they find her?

Harm Zeberg, IMF mission chief to Aruba, said such dependence on tourism had rendered the economy vulnerable to external shocks.
(causes: drugging and rape of female tourists) (not prosecuting the last 3 known to be with a missing tourist) This was apparent in 2006, (caused by Natalee’s disappearance in mid 2005) the IMF official said, when the GDP growth virtually stalled (boycott is working) and the deficit in the non-oil current account sharply widened following a pronounced drop in tourist arrivals.(Cancelations of flights, bookings and cruise ships)
And:: “It is important therefore to develop a coherent and sustainable growth strategy,” said Zagreb. “Such a strategy will need to be supported by additional tax reform-aimed at further simplification AND GREATER RELIEANCE ON INDIRECT TAXES- AND BY STEPS TOWARD MORE EFFICIENT FINANCIAL INTERMEDIATION. These steps would need to include elimination of the credit ceilings and greater use of indirect monetary instruments. (Money laundering comes to mind) (Taxing the Puntas comes to mind) (reducing the salaries of the Prime Minister and his cabinet comes to mind) (elimination of shaving breaks comes to mind) (reduced subsidies on Frosted Flakes comes to mind)(Getting rid of the VCB Beach patrol comes to mind) (With reduced tourisms their requirements go down geometrically) (elimination of half the Justice department that runs like a Chinese fire drill comes to mind) (no offense to the Chinese intended)
A lot of buzz words full of sound and fury signifying NOTHING.

new ad campaign to bring in the tourists:

Come to Aruba where your daughters will be raped and murdered by the son of a judge in training who pretends to be a tourist. Funny thing is that the police know about this funny little gag he plays but opt to do nothing. After your American daughter is murdered we will cover up the crime, blame it on some unsuspecting poor innocent black folks to shake suspicion where it really lies for years to come.

Come to Aruba, we are waiting for you!

      To All Posters,

This is NOT going to be pretty and I support ALL endeavors regarding pressure on those responsible.

On a personal note, it’s unfortunate that I have to say it, but I know it’s the ONLY way because I’ve had my own trials with their system.

The locals will just have to continue to suffer through it; their officials are just SO UNCONSCIONABLE. Locals (on all levels) are known to do one of two things at election time. 1)If they are little people, they ACCEPT MONEY to re-elect people of certain parties, or 2) if they are business people of more means THEY PAY EACH PARTY in order to enable their businesses to continue to thrive.

Anybody who has had any personal/business dealings with people there KNOW this.

Let’s get ready for the trolls, now.

Actually I do not expect them to find her there.

Possibility of Natalee in the Sea. 10%

Those corrupt with evil and indifference can’t bear to hear the sordid perversions of the ugly truth about Aruba’s savagery towards Natalee Holloway and her loving family – being exposed and revealed for all the world to see.

The hideous invested in Natalee’s pain and anguish forever being a “mystery” seek to equate the tyranny of silence, with the false notion of “respect”! They have neither the courage, nor the integrity to NAME the brutal acts that were inflicted upon this innocent child while they muse over suggestions that only the “murderers” themselves know what REALLY happened?

Did this child’s suffering not bear witness to a confession that was literally ERASED?

Did this child’s mother not bear witness to a gang of morally depraved men and women who lied to her as she begged for help in finding her baby?

Is there not now mountains full of MISSING REPORTS, and depraved actions that point to tampering with statements, that reek of the untold barbaric uncivilized depravity that shackles the corrupt in Aruba to the corrupt in the Netherlands?

RESPECT BEGINS IN TRUTH,AND IN SPEAKING IT.
Only cowards and liars would dare to suggest that we know nothing of what this poor child suffered!

Rise up, Monkeys and speak this child’s truth, and claim her right to be heard, her truth to be spoken, her voice to be heard, and her right to justice served!

TYRANNY TERROIZES THRU THE SILENCE OF COMPLICITY!!!!!!!!!!

Complicity begets scoundrels, liars, and morally depraved corrupt minds.

The tyranny of corruption seeks to silence Natalee’s voice!

The tyranny of corruption seeks to suggest that her truths cannot be seen, her suffering cannot be named!!!

The tyranny of corruption seeks to silence everyone in immoral complicity!!!

“NO MAN CAN TERRORIZE A NATION, UNLESS WE ARE ALL HIS ACCOMPLICES.” ( Edward R. Murrow)

We will never be your accomplices to this depravity that Aruba and the corrupt who engaged in this inhumane treatement inflicted upon this child and her family.

We will NAME what you did to this child and to her family.

We will NAME what this child suffered.

You will not silence our voices into the depravity and indifference of SILENCE THROUGH COMPLICITY!

      JUSTICE FOR NATALEE HOLLOWAY!
      JUSTICE FOR HER FAMILY!!!!

Does anyone think that Aruba has the brains to take heed of this warning? They have it coming ….

The Dutch system prevails on Aruba. Let the Dutch feed them. Better yet, let the Dutch demand justice for Natalee Holloway.

Let’s hope this is one banana republic that the American government won’t try to bail out …
not that Aruba could produce a banana anyways.

Well, they’ve got the white slavery trade, the drug trade, and the money laundering/casino trade.
Let’s see how those benefit the average Aruban.

    18. minnesota dad on December 18th, 2007 11:39 am

Folks, sorry about being redundant, but I really would like some answers from the Aruban apologists/AHATA/Joran Apologists regarding these questions. Again, it seems they disappear into their crisis management room at the PR firm (folks, these rooms do exist….I have a friend who does this type of work and his job is to bail out corporate execs, companies, or others when a ‘mistake’ has been made) and try to come up with answers (see YoYo’s lame response from several threads ago). They cannot answer these questions as they know that they strike at the heart of the corruption:

Can you help explain why the KLPD and ALE have refused to develop a timeline for Paulus Van Der Sloot for the night of Natalee’s murder?

Can you explain why search warrants for Paulus Van Der Sloot’s home and property were amended on site? What was the rationale for not searching the WHOLE premises?

Can you explain why Karin Janssen, a close friend of Paulus Van Der Sloot’s, provided Paulus Van Der Sloot with a letter stating he was no longer a suspect in the case while not providing a similar letter to the two black guys that Paulus and his spawn tried to frame?

Can you explain why there is no record of Paulus Van Der Sloot’s witness statements – despite media reporting at the time (June 15-16, 2005) stating that he was brought in and questioned as a witness — not a suspect? Where have these witness statements gone?

Can you explain why the courts double layered the ‘legal onion’ for Paulus by stating that he was 1) no longer a suspect, and 2) awarded him $30,000?

Can you explain why no one in Aruba will positively identify who the gentleman is sitting at “third base” at the blackjack table hitting on Natalee Holloway? Come on…a cook from a local restaurant???? Make me laugh Aruba!

Can you explain what Paulus was doing at 4:00am on the night of Natalee’s murder?

Can you explain why Paulus changed his story to 11:00pm the prior evening that he was out on the town?

Can you explain who leaked the aerial photo of the furniture truck making a delivery to the Van Der Sloot residence just weeks after Natalee’s murder?

Can you explain where the mattress from the Van Der Sloot’s home is currently? Can you explain why all ‘blood evidence’ needed to be sent to Holland for analysis….but the blood soaked mattress was not (within hours they declared the blood “dog blood” and discarded it as evidence). What a Dutch joke that is!

Could you explain why Judge Smid, a friend of Paulus Van Der Sloot’s who STAYS AT THE VDS HOME WHEN HE VISITS FROM CURACAO, was allowed to rule on any orders from this case? Can you help us with the definition of ‘Conflict of Interest’ in the Dutch legal system.

I could go on and on. For ANYONE to claim there is a lack of evidence is a joke…period. There was no attempt to obtain evidence and when there was….the evidence disappeared.

Paulus Van Der Sloot is your perp. Aruba has done everything to protect him. While MOS will close the case against the boys….I know that this case was never “opened” as Paulus Van Der Sloot was always covered for throughout the case by his buddies in Law Enforcement, the Prosecutors, and the Court System. The conflicts of interest are way too overwhelming to ignore and the consistent actions to make sure the case got covered-up are beyond obvious.

Shame on Aruba. And big time shame on the Dutch for playing along with the program. Corruption Rules in the KLPD as well as Aruba!

      MD

      #17 Richard,

Time for the Dutch to take on a global mindset where their government agreements are concerned, no matter how impossible they believe it is.

It’s time for making a change (or two), no matter how impossible, and anything that could be in connection with Aruba and Natalee’s disappearance would be a snappy good place to start. The Dutch government is and will continue to incur massive debt due to this one island alone, and I’m sure you have other debt issues to deal with (I’ve been perusing your annual reports over the years).

Admittedly, we in the US do know a little something about incurring governmental debt. The Dutch taught us something about how to keep water levels down in New Orleans and we listened because we needed that advice.

Now it’s time for you to listen to us a little. Stop your FINANCIAL DAM from breaking under the PRESSURE OF ARUBA’S FINANCIAL EXPECTATIONS (and any other demands in which they feel entitled).

    20. Gutfeeling on December 18th, 2007 12:08 pm

Aruba LE arrested two random men and played that charade for nine days giving Paulus van der Sloot time to cover tracks. That is when the case was closed.

What has happened since then has been a show for the media.

Aruba needs to be warned about being so dangerous. Just over the weekend again, there was a shooting in downtown. A cop was shot 3 times and a 19 year old gang member was killed. And still no reaction from the Minister of Justice. But then again, he is still in denial. Also, yesterday, two people were attacked right after they left the bank…A total of $6,000.00 was taken from them. They were kidnapped and then let go eventually…So much crime for such a little island…And nobody takes anything seriously. Nobody. It’s not just what they do to Americans, it’s what they even do to each other. Just no one cares about anything. Everything is one big joke.

I included Natalee’s story in all my Christmas cards this year. I just received a call from a college friend who received the story and cancelled their cruise (which would have included Aruba) this morning after reading Natalee’s story and hearing the news that they closed the case for now. The cruise tour agent offered them the option of switching to another cruise around Hawaii at no additional cost. They switched. The travel agent said they were not the only ones who had called to cancel trips to Aruba.

So, that’s 9 less people taking a cruise to Aruba in 2008. Every person counts.

MD, I wish we could get the answers to those questions. Sadly, we never will though. The reasons being, the crimes against Natalee would be known to the world. And, the cover up…a long with all those involved would be exposed to the world.

The Aruban government thinks that if they keep playing their games, doing pretend searches, arresting and re-arresting that we will get fed up and it will all just go away. WRONG. Until there is justice Aruba…it will NEVER go away. It will haunt you forever.

What you are too stupid to realize is that if you would give Natalee and her family the justice they deserve, eventually, it may go away…because you did the right thing. Yes, the crimes and cover up would be remembered BUT it would also be remembered that you finally did the right thing.

Everyone knows what you did Aruba…everyone. You are only fooling yourselves if you think it will just go away without justice. We aren’t the ones that are stupid. You are.

They must believe that the rv persistance is going to find her body since they are rushing to close the case. Anyone want to bet that they say that the case can’t be reopened even if Natalle is found with evidence pointing towards the Van der sloots? I know that they have assured us that it can be reopened but they have given us no reason at all to believe them.

Aruba is a third world, poverty stricken, drug infested isle over ran by devils, savages, barbarians, criminals, uncivilized madmen/women, corrupt government officials, etc., etc. It’s made a mockery of justice and made itself out to be a laughing stock. This is actually a great day for people who want justice for Natalee. With Aruba failing to provide justice throught its judicial system, those waiting for the case to play out before moving forward, can now move into action.

In the next week, my group will be reserving thousands of hotel rooms that we have no plans to stay in, we will be booking Arbuan wedding photographers and banquet rooms for weddings that will never take place.

At the same time we will be praying that those hoping for frontier justice will have it carried out by those equipped to do so.

    48. Mike on December 18th, 2007 1:28 pm

Ok just read at foxnews that the statue of limitation for manslaughter is 6 years and for murder its 12 years.

All the Dutch posters who have been supporting the Dutch justice system how can you defend putting a statue of limitation on murder…it does not exist in the US….so after 10 years they can come out with a book on how they raped Natalee, then murdered her and make money off of it and the Aruban and Dutch governments would do nothing about it, is that correct?

A sad day for Justice indeed.

Didn’t think about it…it was supposed to be the end of the year before they made a decision whether or ot to close the case. Whats the hurry? While I have never really believed Natalee is in the water, now I’m starting to wonder. Are they worried?

Good question Mike, if it is “closed” what if they find her and “all that sh**” as Satish or Deepak said. What then? Knowing how Aruba’s so called laws work, closed probably means closed no matter what they find.

What a joke the KLPD investigation turned out to be! IMO They just wanted to make it look like they were investigating so they could say they did everything possible without actually doing anything.

In Fact if you ever need to know what direction the case is going in all you have to do is listen to the van der sloots, they seem to have a better idea of whats going to happen then the prosecution does.

      @Mike

Another great example of Fox’s journalistic research. It should make you wonder about a lot of ‘facts’ in this case which the pundits have gathered through years of news and shows watching.

Statue of limitations (in Holland), probably changed in 2005. It was 18 years for murder and 15 years for manslaughter.

DEN HAAG – De verjaringstermijn van misdrijven waar een levenslange gevangenisstraf op staat, komt te vervallen. THE HAGUE – The statute of limitations of crimes where a life sentence on state has been deleted. Een ruime meerderheid van de Tweede Kamer steunde woensdag het wetsvoorstel van D66 en CDA om de huidige verjaringstermijnen voor de vervolging van moord (18 jaar) en doodslag (15 jaar) te schrappen. A large majority of the Lower House supported the bill Wednesday, D66 and CDA to the current limitation periods for the prosecution of murder (18 years) and homicide (15 years) be deleted.

Volgens de initiatiefnemers van het voorstel moet een onopgeloste moord altijd tot vervolging en veroordeling van verdachten kunnen leiden. According to the initiators of the proposal should always do an unsolved murder prosecution and conviction of suspects might lead. Dankzij verbeterde technieken, zoals DNA-onderzoek, is het bovendien mogelijk ook na de huidige verjaringstermijnen misdrijven op te lossen. Thanks to improved techniques, such as DNA analysis, it is possible even after the current limitation periods crimes to solve. Behalve het CDA en D66 spraken ook de VVD , de PvdA, de LPF en de christenunie hun steun uit voor de wijziging van het Wetboek van Strafrecht. Apart from the CDA and VVD also spoke D66, the PvdA, the LPF and the christenunie their support for the amendment of the Criminal Code.

      Verkrachting Rape

De verjaringstermijn van delicten waarop een gevangenisstraf van meer dan tien jaar staat, gaat volgens het wetsvoorstel omhoog van vijftien naar twintig jaar. The statute of limitations of crimes in which a sentence of more than ten years, according to the bill upwards of fifteen to twenty years. De LPF wil onder meer dat ook de verjaringstermijn voor de vervolging van verkrachting wordt geschrapt. The LPF wants to, inter alia, that the limitation period for the prosecution of rape is deleted. In het wetsvoorstel is die termijn 20 jaar. In the bill that period is 20 years.

Again: people, the decision not to prosecute now is wiser than go to court with insufficient evidence. Now they can be prosecuted any time new evidence emerges, hopefully from the sea search. If acquited because of lack of evidence no trial could ever follow any more. And once again there is no statue of limitation on crimes like these in Dutch law

      Interpretation of Aruba’s Flag:
Aruba’s Coat of Arms has been in use since November 15, 1955. The design was created by “Atelier voor Heraldische Kunst,” of Amsterdam, Holland, but it was later altered to reflect of the symbols of Aruba. The following are the components of the Coat of Arms:

      1. Aloe represents the first source of wealth for the island;
NOT ANYMORE: GONE unless the inhabitants learn how to distill and drink it.

      2. The outline of “Hooiberg” hill symbolizes Aruba arising out of the sea;
It was and still is a rim of an extinct volcano; nothing but hard rock and false beaches.

      3. The hand shake represents the friendly ties Aruba maintains with other nations and peoples; Mostly though in the Prosecutors’ office and Ministry of Justice along with a lawyer judge wanna be..

      4. The cog symbolizes industry as the island’s main source of progress;
More like going around in circles with a bunch of bumps. The ALE is a good example.

      5. The cross in the center is the symbol of devotion and faith;
I thought they used this symbol in honor of Crucifried drug users like “Pitbul” who commit suicide.

      6. The lion atop of the Coat of Arms represents power and generousity;
Just how much does the Lion’s Den contribute to the Island decadence?

      and
      7. The laurel leaves are symbols of peace and friendship.
Laurel does not grow on Aruba. So how would they know about peace and friendship?
Hemlock is more like it. And Socrates could tell you all about it>

Here’s the article … the three suspects have been told that the case is closed. They can (?) reopen it in the case of startling new evidence … let’s hope for results from the water search or from elsewhere.

But even then … would an Aruban jury convict anyone?

      BOYCOTT ARUBA FOREVER.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Authorities have closed the investigation into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway and do not have evidence to charge anyone, the prosecutors’ office said Tuesday.

The three young men who were last seen with the Alabama teenager have all been notified that they will not be charged, the Public Prosecutor’s Office said.

“The public prosecutor’s office and the police have gone the extra mile and have exhausted all their powers and techniques in order to solve the mystery of the disappearance of the girl,” it said.

The three suspects — a Dutch college student and two Surinamese brothers — were seen leaving a bar with Holloway the night she disappeared in May 2005. Police re-arrested them last month in a last-ditch effort to solve the case, but prosecutors said the men did not provide any new information under interrogation.

Holloway’s mother, Beth Twitty, was “terribly disappointed” that the case was closed and has been on an emotional roller coaster in recent weeks, said Sunny Tillman of Birmingham, Ala., a spokeswoman for the mother.

“She was very hopeful the last couple weeks and she went down there and met with the prosecutor,” Tillman said. “He told her face to face that he had new and incriminating evidence and that made her hopeful.

“So now, in light of this today, it’s just so perplexing,” she said.

An attorney for two of the suspects, brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, said prosecutors presented transcripts of online chat sessions that the suspects had with friends as new evidence.

“They tried to call it new, but it didn’t have any incriminating points against our clients,” attorney David Kock said. “It’s like trying to say the Loch Ness monster exists.”

In their statement, prosecutors said they still believe the three were involved in the disappearance, but cannot prove a crime was committed because Holloway’s body was never recovered.

Prosecutors said they could reopen the case “if new serious evidence were to be found.” The statute of limitations is six years for involuntary manslaughter and 12 years for homicide, they said.

Tillman, in a telephone interview with The Associated Press, said the possibility of the case being reopened leaves a glimmer of hope for the family, which is now awaiting results from a deep-water search scheduled to begin Tuesday.

“It’s quite ironic that the case has been closed on the same day the deep-water search was supposed to start,” she said. “It’s ironic that first the prosecutor says the case won’t be closed until Dec. 31 and then — boom — the day the water search starts, the case is over.”

Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Ala., was scheduled to return home with fellow high school classmates celebrating their graduation when she disappeared. She was 18 at the time.

One of the suspects, Joran Van der Sloot, has said he left her alone on a beach the night she vanished but does not know how she vanished.

No trace of Holloway has ever been found despite extensive searches involving hundreds of volunteers, Aruban soldiers, FBI agents and even Dutch F-16 jets with special equipment.

“This whole case was botched from the get-go and it’s terribly disappointing that it has come to this,” Tillman said.

“There was so much hope and the rug was pulled out from under the family once again,” she said. “They pulled the rug out again and again and again and it’s just hideous.”

    80. Deetch on December 18th, 2007 4:14 pm

“Yet the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the team of investigators are convinced that after this year’s investigation from April until December, it has become clear that any scenario beyond the one that implicates these three suspects has either been falsified or is proven to be highly unlikely.”

For a place that is so certain that Natalee is dead, they seem in an awful rush to exonerate everyone just as the search in the offshore waters is about to begin.

They let everyone off the hook and yet they say they are 100% certain that she is dead.

I’d say that something doesn’t make sense here … but nothing has made sense in the 2.5 years that we have been devoted to this travesty of justice.

I wonder how many of our politicians will even react to this?

Will wait for a bit before sending an e-mail to the ATA … the words I’d like to use would probably be forwarded on to the FBI.

Any American who goes to Aruba now is … well, he/she/they will get only my contempt if they go, and will receive no sympathy if they get into trouble. No decent person should go there.

I don’t know why anyone is surprised about the case being closed, it’s been closed since the night that Charles Croes and his friend jumped the fence and copied down Deepak’s license number at the Sloots and when Beth and company arrived at the Sloots, the car was gone. Remember Deepak says he was at work then the casino..never mentioned being at the Sloots. Deepak said when he got back from taking the family and cops to show them where they left Natalee at the Holiday Inn,,which they couldn’t even point out the guards, that Paulus and Joran went into Joran’s room and sat on the floor and Paulus talked to them. No doubt congratulating on such a fine performance. Next Deepak says he went home and later went to work, however Beth and Jug and the group saw Deepak’s car parked outside the police station in the back. Mr. handshake under the table VanderStraten and Frosted Flaky Jacobs in charge. They had Beth and Jug sit for hours waiting to give a statement from what happened the night before.. Jacobs said he had to go shave, eat his frosted flakes and coffee.. Beth went out and sat on the ground in the Parking Lot and Straten came out and told her she couldn’t sit out there and made her come back in. Only to have Jacobs come out after hours and hours of waiting and said, we don’t need your statement today. It was closed then.. What about Paulus claiming he was sound asleep yet comes to the door at 3 am to talk to the cops carrying his cellphone and wouldn’t you know he needs it to call Joran.. Instead of saying come home now the cops are here,,he gets everyone in vehicles to get the hello….away from the house for over an hour, by saying Joran was at the Wyndham, which it turns out he wasn’t. When they woke 2 guards up at dawn, and paraded them on the news, searched their homes and arrested them for kidnapping and murder it was over. Jug Twitty had it right, from the start.. They never had any attention of solving this, the plan was to drag it out in hopes that people would get tired and go away and they could go on with their charade of no crime and come dance in Aruba.

What’s even more of a reason not to ever visit, is those in the very positions to protect tourists who engaged in lies and cover ups since day one. How anyone could look at Julie Renfro as a journalist is ludicrous. It was her who came out on Fox news and said… Police have good solid evidence against the 2 guards and that the 3 boys were just witnesses. She’s or the police have yet to say where all that good solid evidence of kidnapping and murder went.

Someone needs to investigate the conflicts of interest in this case.. They are astounding. Not only did the boys engage in means to throw an investigation off, so did those who tourists count on. There was never no Hitler statement, nor any talk of plantations, and how convenient that since Natalee has no voice, they could leave her dropped on a beach, based on 3 confessed liars words. I pay no attention to JoeT or David Koch.. They are out defending 3 self confessed liars and yet they can’t explain how even today, none of them agree on anything that night that happened.

As soon as the ship came to look for Natalee they closed the case? These people are beyond nuts. There is no doubt in my mind Natalee died on the last night in Aruba. I also believe this has Paulus written all over the cover up. The prosecution says they are even more convinced sinc the investigation from April to December that these 3 are responsible for her disappearance. It was never in their interest to say three locals killed a tourist be it drugging or whatever.. It was easier to pay thousands or millions to hire mouth pieces like Steve Cohen to go around smearing victims and playing mind games by raising their hopes. It was in their interest to say Natalee ran away, was a drunk, a slut, hated her parents, was unruly, a racist..and deserved her fate. These people couldn’t be farther from the truth of who Natalee Holloway was. They look in the mirror every night and see the real slime they are..all of them.

    88. Maggie on December 18th, 2007 4:49 pm

Only thing I beg to differ on this is , It should include Straten and Jacobs at the first.

Why can’t we find Natalee Holloway?
      May 04, 2006

Recently the Dutch and Aruban press have turned very critical of the Aruban police investigation into the disappearance of Holloway, the first public signal that corruption might be the major obstacle to solving the case. Several Dutch criminal law experts have gone on the record calling the investigation methods “strange and unprofessional” and the investigation itself “total madness.”
At the center of controversy is Gerald Dompig, Aruba’s Chief of Police. According to reports, an anonynous man in tears called Dompig with information about where the body of Holloway was buried. A month passed before authorities began the search, yet ealier Dompig spoke openly with the press about new clues. “This is very strange,” said legal psychologist Peter van Koppen. “Normally the area is closed off immediately, to dig and search for clues, but not in Aruba.”

Menno Dolman, a criminal law expert at the University of Amsterdam, was also baffled by Dompig’s slow response. “It is incomprehensible that police, after an important tip about the location of Natalee Holloway’s body, would not go search immediately.”
Regarding Dompig’s leaks about the investigation, University of Leiden’s criminal law expert Hans Nijboer comments: “Total madness. It is against all principles and illogical to bring forth information about the tips before starting the search. [First] competent investigators investigate the case.”

Dompig, who recently resigned his post as Aruba’s Police Chief under mysterious circumstances, is becoming the center of controversy over many odd details related to the case. For example, Joran Van der Sloot and Deepak and Satish Kalpoe were quickly identified as the last people to see Natalee Holloway alive the evening of May 30. However, Dompig waited over a week to gather evidence from the Van der Sloot home, as well as a variety of other sites on the island that might have harbored clues about Holloway’s disappearance. It is widely known that Dompig and Joran Van der Sloot’s father are friends.
There are dozens of other details about Holloway’s disappearance that remain a mystery. Why did Stephen Crooes (a DJ and local operator of a party boat) come forward early in the investigation to corroborate the first tale about the three boys having dropped Holloway off at the Holiday Inn, a story the three boys later admitted was a lie? Croes now says “he was trying to help,” but what was his motivation to stick his nose into such a high profile investigation if he knew the details weren’t the truth? Was he a plant intended to throw the investigation off course, or was he just stupid?

Shouldn’t everyone’s first letter/action be to DEMAND that either Natalee’s Aunt Carla’s PR Firm(Quinn & Company) drop Aruba as a client or DEMAND that Natalee’s Aunt quit.
Wonder how many PR people Quinn and Co has on the Island right now? They were dispatched immediatly in 2005 and handled ALL the PR for the island then. Logic would dictate they will handle ALL the PR now.

#70, here’s my email to ATA.

Heading: Well, you filthy scum showed your true colors today….

Just as the water search gets underway, a search which has every prospect of coming up with some evidence about Natalee Holloway, you vermin close the case (which was to have remained open until Dec. 31) because you say there is no evidence.

Even an Aruban can see through this.

Even an Aruban will understand your haste to close this case.

Even an Aruban will realize what you’re trying to do.

And if an Aruban can understand it, the average cockroach will see through you in a flash.

You’ve made three or four people on Aruba very happy today … I can see them gloating, with their now-famous smirks, at the thought that you’ve done it to the Americans again.

      You haven’t.

You’ve just proved how contemptible you and your “one happy island” are. Those of us who have followed Natalee’s case for the last two and a half years may not be surprised at your action … I think it’s now clear that justice is an impossible goal on your island.

I hope we never see you in our country again, promoting travel to your hell hole of an island.

You’ve given the “boycott Aruba” movement the biggest shot in the arm that it could ever get. Thanks for the opportunity.

Just remember … you asked for it.

I believe our Southern Neighbors have forgotten their manners. It is a normal custom to welcome additions to the neighborhood. I think they should pay a call to Dacula Georgia and welcome Koen and Sander Gottenbos into the COMMUNITY. While they are doing that they should ask why Koen still pees himself and ask Sander if he reported or found his cell phone that was stolen on May 29/30 2005.

      Well, well, well:

      KLPD = sham

I can recall how we were told that the KLPD was the “real deal” and the Dutch don’t mess around. Sham….

      Releasing Joran when Katrina hit…..sham

Re-arresting the predators on Thanksgiving eve (one of the slowest news days) to fly under the radar while everyone was travelling on planes in the USA – sham.

      Having explosive evidence…..sham

Closing the case the day that the boat begins its search…sham.

Clearly the statement made by Aruba that there is no conceivable demise for Natalee outside of one with the three predators is a sham too.

      Where is Paulus’ timeline Aruba???

Who was playing 21/blackjack at ‘third base’ and hitting on Natalee?

Who had a judge waiting IN his home to amend a search warrant?

The statement that the only conceivable option of demise was at the hands of the 3 predators is bull….they, like ALE are protecting PAULUS VAN DER SLOOT and the government actors that helped cover for him.

      Rot Aruba…..

      Natalee Holloway’s Mother ‘Disappointed’

Last Edited: Tuesday, 18 Dec 2007, 12:44 PM CST
Created: Tuesday, 18 Dec 2007, 12:28 PM CST

Natalee Holloway’s mother was “terribly disappointed” Tuesday upon learning that Aruban authorities have closed the case into her daughter’s disappearance.

Beth Twitty was ‘very hopeful’ the last couple of weeks said Sunny Tillman, a spokeswoman for Twitty. But today’s news was ‘perplexing’ to Twitty, said Tillman.

Twitty met with Aruban prosecutors a couple of weeks ago after they re-arrested three long-time suspects in the case.

“The prosecutor told her (Twitty) face to face that he had new and incriminating evidence and that made her hopeful,” said Tillman. “So now, in light of this today, it’s just so perplexing,” she said.

The three suspects — a Dutch college student and two Surinamese brothers — were seen leaving a bar with Holloway the night she disappeared in May 2005. Police re-arrested them last month in a
last-ditch effort to solve the case, but prosecutors said the men did not provide any new information under interrogation.

MD: just keep posting your questions. They are good ones and deserve an answer.

Ironic doesn’t even begin to describe what it means that of all times, Aruba closes their investigation on the day the deep water search beings. The good ole boys must know something. I’ve always believed there were three possible places for Natalee’s body: The ocean, the garbage dump and not quite as likely, an abandoned mine shaft.

To the people of Aruba: “AND GREATER RELIANCE ON INDIRECT TAXES” and just what do you think this might mean? I’m guessing that price of white bread is going up, up, up along with everything else you might want to purchase on that “one crappy little island”.

If you don’t like, get some people in the know to start shoot off their mouths – otherwise, this IS your fate.

    104. Richard on December 18th, 2007 6:39 pm

Latest update of the AP story from Aruba says that J van der Scum was “attending a family celebratory event” today.

The story also says that few people expect the water search to turn up anything. No source is given for this information.

    105. Maggie on December 18th, 2007 6:41 pm

MD dad, I’ve always wondered why none of them can come out and say who that is beside Natalee at the casino. You would think if it was Tom, Dick or Harry, it would be all over the papers. Even Steve Cohen was confronted on MSNBC by Rita and she asked him if that was Paulus, his big cop out, I will check and get back to you.. Last time he was seen on tv.. Remember they claim Paulus went home before Joran met Natalee, but then Joran’s friend, Jaimie, also says that Joran called him between 4 and 7 to go out that night to Carlos n Charlies,to meet some MB girls.. that is before Joran even said he met them that night.

The ‘closing of the case’ story has just hit the 5p.m.News on four major TV newscasts. (CBS-NBC-FOX & ABC in New York.) I’m confident that cable channels have or will carry the story as well. All I did was flip through channels and was able to find the ‘event’ described. Channel 2 described the closing as “unbelievable-shocking news”. You’ve got that right.

As this shocking news is broadcast all across America tonight and tomorrow, and is picked up in just about very newspaper tomorrow morning, I dare say those readers and listeners will make a mental note to shun Aruba as a non-friendly destination. People make silent/personal choices all the time. It will soon translate to tourist traffic sledding downhill. As it should be.

    109. Richard on December 18th, 2007 7:04 pm

Let’s do what we can to encourage people to make that “mental note,” and to give our politicians the signal that they cannot just sit back on this atrocity. It’s their job, ultimately, to represent the American people.

Now’s the time (way past time, unfortunately) to start making them do what they should have been doing all along.

I have a huge gripe with Tacopina who states he “knows” for certain little boy VDS is “not” guilty. If his psychic abilities , prophetical skills, crystal ball, is working so well then surely he knows who did it.

For the life of me I wonder how these creatures on Aruba think that Natalee simply vanished in thin air.

Aruba Investigation Into Disappearance of American Teen Natalee Holloway Is Not Over

ORANJESTAD, Aruba — Aruban officials have not closed their investigation into the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway, FOX News learned Tuesday.

The media liaison for the public prosecutor in Aruba dismissed an earlier report that the investigation was over. A press conference scheduled for Thursday will reveal new evidence against three young men last seen with the Alabama teen.

The investigation is in a new phase with detectives reviewing new evidence, the media liaison told FOX News.

The three suspects — a Dutch college student and two Surinamese brothers — were seen leaving a bar with Holloway the night she disappeared in May 2005. Police re-arrested them last month in a last-ditch effort to solve the case, but prosecutors said the men did not provide any new information under interrogation.

I also heard a news report that said Mos says he will reveal the latest evidence. However, this is not good news since I recall that Aruba says any evidence released is contaminated and most likely can’t be used in court. Well I guess we might as well know, since we already know that they could receive a video tape of the thugs raping and murdering Natalee and still deny it.

As the “news” is being flashed across TV screens, internet blogs, radio broadcasts, etc. all around the free world, and Cuba, even the media in Venezula is expressing disbelief. Mother of God, are there ANY sane governmental officials on that 5th rate sand trap? The American Legion, Catholic War Veterans, Jewish War Veterans, and a host of American patriotic organizations have been contacted to express the outrageous inaction and blatent indifference to an American’s treatment while on their soil. There is a groundswell of anger building everywhere and the resultant pay back will be catastrophic to the Aruban people and economy. I never thought it would generate into such solidarity and rage.

Close the case???? I think you will see dozens and dozens of local businesses fold and close down, hotel bookings drop to 40% or less, airlines curtailing flight schedules, resulting in high unemployment of the general Aruban population. @88 Maggie – I always thought Steve Croes’ role in this case was to transport a passed out Natalee somewhere — either onto the Tattoo or onto another fast boat –perhaps in lieu of a drug payment. Drugs seem to be keeping that one happy eisland happy!

      S. Croes said he was sleeping on his ‘work’ boat off the highrise beach that night, as he did this on many nights. It is Steve’s job to transport patrons from the beach to the Tattoo party boat (which IMMEDIATELY went up for sale days after Natalee went missing).

      S. Croes said he heard shouting on the beach that night …and he then became Deepaks’ “we hit the jackpot” ace in the hole alibi.

But, the night Natalee went missing, MBers were swimming nude outside the HI. Many boats were still hanging around in the waters well after the SBMFestival ended, and others were anchored while passengers were attending after parties.

SO WHY WAS S. CROES THE ONLY ONE TO HEAR THIS COMMOTION ON THE BEACH BETWEEN NATALEE AND SOME GUYS? A SCREAMING MATCH? DOH…

Let’s try it again Stevo – what the heck happend to Natalee? We wanna know!

One more incidence of the Dutch not thinking their excrements stink.
I used to dislike the Dutch; but they are helping me to hate them lately. Especially over the past two and one half years.

K, 10061906 its time for your geo lesson of the day.
The problem with Belgium is the there are 2 languages used and both sides really dislike each other.
      a) French speaking (South)
      b) Flemish speaking (North and Flemish being a type of Dutch)
So the Flemish Belgiums were booing miss Belgium because her Flemish is really bad.

#139 10,000 question: Name at least one good Dutch person. Whatever, they don’t live in Aruba!

100% correct, only the richer and retired sometimes settle in the Antilles

Dolf 140: I want to thank you personally for going that extra mile and giving me my geo (?) Lesson for the day. I just so happens I’ve also been to Belgium.
The French/Dutch/Flemish problem dates back to Napoleon. Your Geo lesson for the day.
Oh by the way is there any truth to the rumor that you search for fly Sh-t in pepper?

Their “new phase” is called the “Do Nothing” phase, oh yeah, that was the one we just finished. This must be the “Forget It Ever Happened” phase.

      geo = geography

actualy, it started before that, Flanders was once also part of the Netherlands.

(btw. Its a French-Flemmish thing, not Dutch)

Oh, I have never seen anything like this in my entire life. Our gov’t really, really, really has to get involved. Somewhere, somehow! There’s a loophole out there!

ok, I have read all your comments and I was wondering…. If the boddy can not be found is because it is put where nobody should look for…

Wel the only answer that I can come up with is a cemetary among all the other deads in Aruba… but the question is which one.

I aruba when someone day they do not usually put their dead in the ground but in something called a Kelder… A Kelder is like a small place made form stone where the families will burried their loveones. Most of them are sealed but you can find one that is open and put a body in one and seal it with only 5 cement block and a coat of paint and no one will ever look there. becuase it is the cemetary.

So Nathally must be in a cemetary and thats why it can not be found and thats my logic.

Um, I hope you discover that shielding your precious little anti-social, murderous MONSTER was worth your whole livelihood, Ascrewba. I’m done with you, and so is everyone else I know. Aruba is nothing a sad, bad joke now. Congratulations! You’ve destroyed your own economy! It took a lot of doing, but you did it!

    154. 10 Years Later after the Death & Disappearance of Natalee Hollwaoy in Aruba … Will Witness Jurrien de Jong’s Story Pan Out, “I saw Natalee Holloway on the last night that she was alive. I was the eyewitness … ” I knew she on May 14th, 2015 7:30 am

[...] Natalee Holloway was just 18 when she vanished while on a Mountain Brook High School graduation trip to Aruba where she went missing on May 30, 2005 and was never seen again. The last individuals that Natalee was seen with was Joran Vander Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers, Deepak and Satish, leavings Carlos & Charlies.  All will remember the very first post that Scared Monkeys ever did on this missing persons case, ‘This Can’t Be Good For Tourism, Where’s Natalee Holloway?’ And sadly, this is what this lack of police investigation and island coverup was all about. Cronyism, corruption and coverup … how the island of Aruba and its officials covered up the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway to protect one of their own and their tourism dollars. [...]
