On this Memorial Day 2018, Scared Monkeys sends a special thank you to all of the military men, woman and their families who have sacrificed their lives to that We, the United States of America, remain the home of the free because of the brave. We thank from the bottom of our hearts those who we can no longer thank in person for their sacrifice to this great Country. Thank you and God Bless you. We shall never forget you your service and sacrifice.

During your Memorial Day get-togethers and picnics, please take time today to remember what this day is truly about and the men and women that we have lost.

America has lost so many lives to protect the freedoms and liberties that we hold to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. We have lost so many brave souls to not only protect our Freedoms, but the freedoms of others from tyranny.  On this day we remember that Freedom is never Free and all those that gave all in their service and sacrifice to us.

As always on this day and on a personal note I say thank you and you are so missed to my uncle Red who is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. To the man and my namesake who means so very much to me and taught me so much. My uncle served in Patton’s 3rd Army where he received the following medals. a silver star. bronze star and multiple purple hearts.  So often he did not want to talk of what went on during his military server and his heroic efforts during WWII; however, true heroes are also humble. It was not until much later when I was in college and became a history major with a specialty in US military warfare and tactics did my uncle open up and provide me with the truth of what he experienced during his military days, some of that time spent in the Ardennes , better know as the Battle of the Bulge.

Just curious, what is wrong with a little patriotism?  In a January 18, 2018 meeting President Donald Trump expressed his wish to hold a military parade like the one he witnessed in France with President Macron on Bastille Day. The NY Times reported that Mr. Trump said he told President Emmanuel Macron of France that he was considering the idea of a similar spectacle in the United States. But the liberal MSM appears to be against such a parade. However, as you will learn to borrow a phrase from John Kerry … The LEFT for for it before they were against it.

However, Democrats and their liberal media hacks scoffed and made fun of the idea making reference to Trump as a dictator. On MSNBC’s the Morning Schmo, Mika and Joe said that countries like the Soviet Union and North Korea do things like this. They called it autocratic, among other derogatory things. Imagine that. But I thought liberals like the French?

BUT THE LIBERAL MEDIA HAD NO ISSUES WHEN DEMOCRAT SENATOR CHUCKY SCHUMER OF NEW YORK CALLED FOR A MILITARY PARADE IN 2014. Where was the criticism and outrage from the LEFT then? It all goes back to the LEFT’s never ending attacks on President Trump no matter what. Even when the LEFT has said the same thing. What, does the Left not understand there is this thing called Google and other search engines that record all that they say and folks that take the time to find out the truth? Once again Schumer and the LEFT look like the frauds they truly are.

Democratic Rep. Jackie Speier called Trump’s idea of a military parade “authoritarian,” while Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse compared the practice to something that would be done by North Korea.

But in 2014, Schumer suggested that New York’s Ticker Tape Parade be used to honor the military.

“Now as military operations in Afghanistan draw to a close, some are calling for the Ticker Tape Parade to honor those who fought in the war on terror,” a reporter explained in a video posted to YouTube.

“After all, these men risked their lives to protect us,” Schumer said at the time. “They experienced terrible trial and tragedy along the way.”

Remembering my uncle and all the brave heroes who sacrificed so much … I can remember like it was yesterday, but in fact it was more than 25 years ago, when I stood in Arlington National Cemetery for the funeral of my Uncle and namesake. I can remember the sound of Taps and the 21 gun salute as tears flowed down my face as I laid to rest my hero and a man that gave so much for his country and for me. A man who was the toughest and most honorable, proud and yet humble man I have ever known. God bless all.

Ex-Clinton volunteer Dan Grilo Condemned & Loses Job After Vile & Hateful Tweet at widow of fallen SEAL William “Ryan” Owens

Dan Grilo, a former volunteer for both Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama, who appears to be so full of Trump hate that he cannot contain himself, attacked the widow of Navy Seal William “Ryan” Owens on Twitter saying, “Sorry, Owens’ wife, you’re not helping yourself or your husband’s memory by standing there and clapping like an idiot. Trump just used you.” Does the LEFT have no shame? Grillo’s reaction was following the moment from Trump’s Address to Congress where he honored the widow and the memory of her fallen husband, Navy Seal William “Ryan” Owens. What kind of a vile individual makes these types of comments to the widow of a Navy Seal killed why protecting the very liberties and freedoms that allow a LEFTY like this to make such a comment?

What rock did this individual crawl out from? After these hateful comments to such an amazing moment, he might want to crawl back there real fast.

A former Hillary Clinton volunteer drew swift condemnation — and lost his job — after mocking the widow of a fallen Navy SEAL who was honored by the president during his congressional address Tuesday night.

Dan Grilo, who said in his Twitter profile that he was a former volunteer for both Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama, made the remarks after Trump paid tribute to Carryn Owens. She is the widow of U.S. Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens, who was killed in a counterterrorism raid in Yemen last month.

“Our veterans have delivered for this nation—and now we must deliver for them,” Trump said, eliciting an extended standing ovation from the entire chamber for a visibly emotional Owens.

“Ryan died as he lived: a warrior, and a hero – battling against terrorism and securing our nation,” Trump said.

While widely regarded as the most powerful moment of the night, Grilo was not impressed. Responding to a tweet from L.A. Times reporter Matt Pearce, who noted that Owens was crying and overwhelmed, Grilo tweeted:

“Sorry, Owens’ wife, you’re not helping yourself or your husband’s memory by standing there and clapping like an idiot. Trump just used you.”

UPDATE I: Dan Grilo, the pathetic LEFTY who attacked Carryn Owens, the widow of U.S. Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens, on Twitter for being a special guest of President Trump  for his joint Address to Congress has been fired from his job.

In a statement, the company said that while the message was from his personal account, “his comments were inconsistent with the Company’s values.”

“Regardless of whether the comments in the tweet were intended to cause the hurt and anger that they ultimately generated, they were unacceptable to us, and the individual who issued the tweet is no longer affiliated with Liberty,” the statement said.

Chief special warfare operator William “Ryan” Owens was killed in an intelligence-gathering raid in Yemen last month. President Trump said, “Ryan died as he lived, a warrior and a hero, battling against terrorism and securing our nation.” As all looked upon the wife of William Ryan Owens in tears, looking up to the Heavens and mouthing, I love you baby and thanks to the audience, all in attendance continued the standing ovation, well most except for the disrespectful Democrats, for several minutes. President Donald Trump paid homage to the first military death of his nascent administration in his address to a joint session of Congress on Tuesday, creating a memorable, heartfelt moment of recognition for the slain Navy SEAL’s widow.

Carryn Owens received the longest applause of the night — totaling more than two minutes of sustained applause — after Trump acknowledged her presence and the heroic efforts of her late husband, chief special warfare operator William “Ryan” Owens, who was killed in an intelligence-gathering raid in Yemen last month.

“The challenges we face as a nation are great, but our people are even greater — and none are greater or braver than those who fight for America in uniform,” Trump said. “We are blessed to be joined tonight by Carryn Owens, the widow of U.S. Navy special operator senior chief William ‘Ryan’ Owens. Ryan died as he lived, a warrior and a hero, battling against terrorism and securing our nation.”

Vice President Mike Pence and House Speaker Paul Ryan, who were seated behind Trump, stood up to applaud as attendees of the president’s address showered Owens with the 30-second standing ovation.
