Theresa Hawley – Missing

Orlando Police say Theresa Hawley, 28, hasn’t been seen since Sunday afternoon, after she told her friends she was going out on a date.

“She was innocently just thinking that somebody’s going to take me out, finally I get to go out on a date, you know, and that’s all she was thinking, she hasn’t been back, we haven’t had any phone calls,” said Hawley’s roommate Mary Cosme.

Her roommates are concerned about her safety because they say she talked about meeting a man online — they don’t know if someone picked her up or if she met them, but they say she didn’t take any clothes or belongings with her, only her wallet and cell phone, which they say is now going straight to voicemail.

Anyone that knows where Hawley is or has seen her is asked to contact the Orlando Police Department at 407-246-2470.

A deputy was dispatched to the Kangaroo Express on South Charles R. Beall Boulevard about 1:25 p.m. Sunday for a suspicious person.

There, the deputy spoke with 28-year-old Theresa Hawley, who said she was at Kaley Avenue and Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando and asked an unknown man for a ride to her friend’s house.

The man agreed, but instead of taking Hawley to her friend’s house, he drove onto Interstate 4 and eventually U.S. 17-92.

Hawley told the deputy the man stopped at South Charles R. Beall Boulevard and Dirksen Drive and told her to get out of the vehicle
