U.S. Senate Confirms Jeff Sessions as Attorney General

SESSIONS CONFIRMED

As reported at the Hill, Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the next attorney general. The vote was 52-47, with only one Democrat voting for Sessions, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV). Many Democrats seem to think that Sessions will not act independently of President Trump; however, they had no issue when former AG’s Eric Holder and Lorretta Lynch marched in lockstep with Barack Obama. With Sessions now the new AG, his senate seat needs to be filled and according to the Politico, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley will name Luther Strange, Alabama’s attorney general, on Thursday morning to replace him in the Senate.

The Senate voted Wednesday night to confirm Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) as attorney general, capping a vicious debate that left Democrats and Republicans alike seething at times.

No Republicans went against Sessions in the 52-47 vote. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) was the only Democrat to back Sessions.

While Republicans broke out into applause after the vote closed, Democrats largely stood silently. A handful of Democratic senators — including Manchin, Sen. Joe Donnelly (W.Va.) and Robert Menendez (N.J.) — went over and shook Sessions’s hand after the vote. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), who didn’t support Sessions, hugged him on the Senate floor.

The fight over Sessions escalated this week, when Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) read a letter that Coretta Scott King had written in 1986 that accused Sessions, a U.S. attorney at the time, of using the power of his office to prevent blacks from voting.

Because the IRS is a Non-Partisan Govt Agency … Emails Reveal Former IRS Official Lois Lerner’s Disdain for Conservative Calling Them “Crazies” & “A**holes”

But of course the IRS and Lois Lerner was not operating in concert with the Obama administration in an effort to support the president and attack his political enemies. Latest Lois Lerner emails reveal that she had complete and total contempt for conservatives calling them “crazies” and a$$holes”.

The Washington Times:

Lois G. Lerner, the former Internal Revenue Service official at the center of the tea party targeting scandal, expressed contempt for conservatives and called them “a—holes” in newly discovered emails, fueling a drive by House Republicans for a special counsel to investigate the tax agency.

The email was among a batch of evidence that House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp, Michigan Republican, turned over Wednesday to the Justice Department in support of an investigation into criminal wrongdoing at the IRS.

In the Nov. 9, 2012, email exchange from Ms. Lerner’s official IRS email account, she demonstrates “deep animus towards conservatives, which she refers to as “–holes,” Mr. Camp said.

In other emails, Ms. Lerner appeared to refer to conservatives as “crazies.”

In one email highlighted by the committee, she wrote, apparently referring to conservative critics of the administration: “So we don’t need to worry about alien teRrorists (sic). It’s our own crazies that will take us down.”

In another passage, she replies to a friend bemoaning the negative critiques of President Obama and administration policy on talk radio shows. Ms. Lerner responds: “Great. Maybe we are through if there are that many a—holes.”

Sean Hannity Blasts President Barack Obama in Blistering Monologue … ‘It’s Time for a Wake-Up Call’ … “It Is Time for You to Get Engaged.”

BARACK OBAMA, ITS TIME TO LEAD, NOT DIVIDE …

Last night Sean Hannity blasted Barack Obama in a blistering monologue begging, asking and demanding that this president ‘WAKE UP” and get engaged in the turmoil in both domestic and foreign policy. Much of which Obama has no one to blame but himself. Although he will try and pass the buck. It is becoming evident that Obama is the “Bystander” in Chief and refuses to step up to the plate and lead. But instead Obama attends fundraisers, plays golf and goes on vacation to Martha’s Vineyard.

Hannity stated that our world is in an alarming state of emergency, between Israel’s ground war into Gaza to protect itself from Hamas, Malaysia flight ML17 blown out of the sky in an unspeakable act killing innocent men, women and children, ISIS on the rise, Al-Qaeda on the move, the Middle East on fire, Russia and Putin flexing its muscles, Obama administration scandals like IRS-gate and Benghazi-gate, and a US domestic policy of out of control national debt and a discouraged work force. Let us not forget the crisis we have on our Southern border caused by Obama’s lack of protecting or borders. Then there is that Obamacare thing.

Hannity said, “It is shocking to see a president of the United States, the free world, with such a lack of urgency and priorities. So I say to the president tonight: It is time for action, it’s time for urgency. It is time for you to get engaged.” Hannity went on to say, “Mr. President for you to stand up. It is time for you to lead. It’s time to skip for once your lavish million dollar Marha’s Vineyard vacation. It’s time for you to put down those golf clubs. I thing 180 rounds of gold is quite enough. It is time for you to lead by example. [...] You need to spend more time in The Oval Office. You need to be in the Situation Room. You may be surprised to learn what has actually happened in the six years since you have become the leader of the free world.”

Hannity then skewered the president over his handling of domestic matters.

“Mr. President, why don’t you consider the events of these past 24 hours to be a very, very costly and deadly wake up call,” Hannity said. “And while all this was happening yesterday, you spent 40 seconds dealing with the killing of nearly 300 innocent people and for your secretary of state to tell Israel to restrain itself again and again. It’s time for a wakeup call.

Internal Audit of VA: More than 57,000 New Patients Had Waited at Least 90 Days for Their First Appointment

PATHETIC, Welcome to government run healthcare …

An internal audit of 731 Veteran Administration medical centers revealed that the VA scheduling scandal was as bad if not worse than we first thought. The VA said more than 57,000 new patients have waited at least 90 days for their first appointments. As reported at USA Today, some 100,000 veterans across the country are waiting long periods to see doctors.  Also, 13% of VA schedulers stated they were told to falsify appointment requests. The report also showed that employees at 24 sites said they felt “threatened or coerced” to enter incorrect information. Just curious, does the VA have a compliance department? Did anyone of these employees not feel the responsibility to come forward to a compliance officer and divulge the lack of ethics that was taking place? Where the hell is Attorney General Eric Holder and criminal charges against those responsible? This was not abuse, it was FRAUD!!!

VA Scandal

The Department of Veterans Affairs on Monday shed light on the depth of the VA scheduling scandal and substantiated claims that rank-and-file employees were directed to manipulate records.

The agency said more than 57,000 new patients have waited at least 90 days for their first appointments and that about 13 percent of VA schedulers indicated they were told to falsify appointment-request dates to give the impression that wait times were shorter than they really were.

The information comes from the agency’s internal audit of 731 VA medical centers, which the VA released Monday.

The report said that complicated scheduling practices created confusion among clerks and supervisors, contributing to the problems. It also said the VA’s goal of providing an initial appointment within 14 days of a request was unattainable because of the growing demand for care among veterans.

The inspector general’s report last month said VA data showed an average wait time of 24 days when the actual rate was 115 days on average, illustrating the effect of manipulating the records.

Tennessee: Wait times at Midstate VA hospitals longest in nation.

Veterans hoping to see a doctor for the first time in the VA’s Nashville and Murfreesboro hospitals wait an average of 65 days to see a physician, well beyond the 14-day target window put in place by U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs officials, according to data released to USA Today.

Pennsylvania VA clinic fifth worst for mental health care appointments in the nation.

The Philadelphia VA had 1,141 new enrollees wait more than 60 days for an appointment, while Pittsburgh had 443. But Pittsburgh had the longest wait time for new enrollees, at almost 60 days. The figure for Philadelphia was about 43 days, while Erie was 21.

The VA released the nationwide audit today, the first look at its network in the uproar that began with reports of patients dying while awaiting appointments at the Phoenix VA center. The audit found long wait times across the country for patients seeking first appointments.

Several other states fared far worse than the Pennsylvania clinics. The VA in Honolulu, Hawaii, had the longest wait at 145 days, followed by Harlingen, Texas, at 85 days and Fayetteville, North Carolina, at 83 days.

Barack Obama has the audacity to show up in Normandy on the 70th anniversary of D-Day and pretend like he cares as veterans are treated like this? America, he knew there was a problem.
