Pope in New York City … Blesses Ground Zero … Pope Benedict XVI Takes Manhattan and then Yankee Stadium
Pope Benedict XVI first took Manhattan as he blessed the ground at Ground Zero and provided hope and comfort to family members of those that lost loved ones on 9/11. Then he hit a grand slam out of the park as Pope Benedict XVI inspired all in the House that Ruth built as Yankee Stadium was transformed into a beacon of hope.

FNC: April 20: Pope Benedict XVI attends a memorial service at Ground Zero in New York.
Pope Benedict XVI blessed “Ground Zero” and brought a message of peace and hope to a sight more known for its violence and pain from that fateful morning on September 11, 2001. Read the full transcript HERE. One did not have to be a catholic to be moved and inspired by Pope Benedict XVI’s words. One only needed to be a Christian, Jew or Muslim searching for God of any religion in a peaceful manner to brought to profound joy and peace by the words on Pope Benedict XVI. Do not ever forget where true hope is derived from.
Addressing a group that including survivors, clergy and public officials, he acknowledged the many faiths of the victims at the “scene of incredible violence and pain.”
The pope also prayed for “those who suffered death, injury and loss” in the attacks at the Pentagon and in the crash of United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pa. More than 2,900 people were killed in the four crashes of the airliners hijacked by al-Qaida.
“God of peace, bring your peace to our violent world,” the pope prayed on a chilly, overcast morning. “Turn to your way of love those whose hearts and minds are consumed with hatred.”
Benedict invited 24 people with ties to ground zero to join him: survivors, relatives of victims and four rescue workers. He greeted each member of the group individually as a string quartet played in the background. In his prayer, he also remembered those who, “because of their presence here that day, suffer from injuries and illness.” (AP News)
Cheers and pageantry for papal mass at Yankee Stadium
Benedict praised the United States as a land of religious liberty, and urged US Catholics to overcome differences and build on the foundation of the church left by their forebears, many of them “immigrants whose traditions have so enriched the Church in America.”
“Today’s celebration is … a summons to move forward with firm resolve to use wisely the blessings of freedom, in order to build a future of hope for coming generations.”

Didn’t Democrats Once Accuse Republicans of Terrorism Fear Mongering … Clinton Ad Draws Ire of Obama
Wasn’t it Democrats that always complained about fear mongering?
Every since the 9–11 attacks in 2001 Democrats have consistently accused Republicans of using fear mongering ads during elections. Now it appears that Hillary Clinton seems to think that protecting the United States from terrorists foreign foes is an important role of a president and does so in the following ad. The Clinton ad certainly cast doubts on Barack Obama’s readiness. And so it should.
Playing on anxieties about national security, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has produced a “red phone moment” advertisement that suggests she would be better able to respond to a crisis than Senator Barack Obama.
Hillary Clinton’s New Ad
Later the Obama campaign released a new ad to respond directly to the one from Mrs. Clinton’s campaign. It says in part: “It’s 3 a.m. and your children are safe and asleep. But there’s a phone ringing in the White House. Something’s happening in the world. When that call gets answered, shouldn’t the president be the one — the only one — who had judgment and courage to oppose the Iraq war from the start.”
Obama, an Illinois senator, has a 6-point edge on Clinton in Texas, 48 percent to 42 percent. He trails Clinton 44 percent to 42 percent in Ohio — well within the poll’s margin of error of 3.8 percentage points.

Barack Obama … American Flag Lapel Pin Have Become a Substitute for “True Patriotism”
Barack … speak for yourself. You may wear a flag pin as a substitute for
patriotism, others do not. However, thank you for clarifying the false reason you wore an American flag pin all this time. People in real America do things for other reason than self-serving politicians who want to only present an appearance.
Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has decided to not wear an American flag lapel pin because he states its a substitute for patriotism. Who is telling you how to run your campaign? Patriotism is not explaining political ideas. The idea that you have just insulted people who do wear American flag pins will get you no where. Or is Barack going after the “no American flag wearing” pin demographic?
Barack … did it ever dawn on you, that one could do both? A person could be patriotic and wear an American flag lapel pin at the same time? I know this may be a novel concept, but its true.
Barack, why stop there with the American flag. Why not get rid of the American flag at all your campaign stops as well. Since you do not need to show your patriotism, whenever you speak why don’t you make sure the American flag is no where in the photo op.
Asked about it Wednesday in an interview with KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the Illinois senator said he stopped wearing the pin shortly after the attacks and instead hoped to show his patriotism by explaining his ideas to citizens.

9-11 Terrorism Photo Op Denied … Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Permission to Visit Ground Zero Denied
It is bad enough that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is being allowed to
speak at the United Nations this weekend in what will only be a slam America-fest and to tell all the other UN countries on our own soil that the US is the great Satan. However, to make matters worse, Ahmadinejad wanted to spit in the eye of all those that died at Ground Zero by visiting it and laying a wreath. Could you imagine having to be the police officer assigned to this detail after having lost so many of your brothers in arms on September 11, 2001?
That’s correct, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, whose country is a state sponsor of terrorism and would love nothing more than to see the USA attacked by terrorism into submission asked permission to visit “Ground Hero.” This sad pathetic excuse for a human being wanted to exploit the tragedy of 9–11 for his own photo op. Thankfully, he was DENIED!
The question that would need to be asked of the Iranian president is who were you laying the wreath for, the victims of 9–11 who lost their lives or the terrorists? I think we already know the answer to that.

Remembering September 11, 2001 … Do You Remember? Have You Forgotten? … DON’T EVER FORGET!
Remembering September 11, 2001 …
On the 6th anniversary of 9–11, the worst terrorist attack that the United States has ever seen, please say a prayer for the families of those who lost loved ones on that fateful day. Say a prayer and a thank you for all the first responders, the police, the fireman and the rescue workers who gave their lives to help others. Remember the heroic and selfless acts of so many that showed the best of what we have to offer in the face of adversity.
We ask that you please never forget what happened that day. In the days before the sixth anniversary we are reminded by the release of the most recent Bin Laden tapes that we are not out of the woods. We must always remain vigilant. The worst thing that the Unites States and its citizens could ever do is become complacent. That does not mean one has to be paranoid, it means that one remembers 9–11’s true accounts and history.
DO NOT EVER FORGET

Have you forgotten how it felt that day? If you forget history, you are destined to repeat it. Do not let any one ever tell you its time to move on. When you think that its an option, think of the many men, women and children, husbands, wives, sons and daughters who are without their loved ones.

Is Osama bin Laden Back Ahead of 9/11?
IS HE BACK?

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - The first new images of Osama bin Laden in nearly three years will be released ahead of the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, al-Qaida’s media arm announced, a move that would end the terror mastermind’s longest period without a message.

Daily Commentary - Friday, July 27th, 2007 - University of Colorado fires Ward Churchill [1:42m]: | Download4 Arrested in Terror Plot to Blow Up Jet Fuel at JFK Airport
So there is no terror threat to the United States anymore, so said Democratic Presidential
candidate John Edwards. So Mr. Edwards, do you still think the “war on terror is just a bumper sticker”?
So our government and authorities are doing nothing to prevent terror threats to the US? So our country is no safer today than it was before 9–11? To all those detractors, maybe they want to rethink their comments. Four people were charged in a plot to blow up jet fuel at JFK airport.
Four people have been charged. Three suspects are in custody: Russell Defreitas, Kareem Ibrihim and Abdul Kadir. Abdul Nur is still at large.
Defreitas is to be arraigned Saturday in Brooklyn on terror conspiracy charges.
Sources said Defreitas, a former cargo worker at JFK allegedly began to plot attacking the US last July or August. Defeitas sought help in carrying out a plan and went to an FBI informant, who gathered information about the plot.
U.S. Attorney Roslynn R. Mauskopf called it “one of the most chilling plots imaginable.”
“The devastation that would be caused had this plot succeeded is just unthinkable,” she said at a news conference. (MSNBC)
4 charged in JFK Airport terror plot
An official said the plotters had conducted surveillance on giant jet fuel tanks at JFK and the pipeline. They had taken surveillance video of the targets and took it to Trinidad to review the tape, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the arrests were not yet announced.
The official said investigators first found out about the plot in January 2006. After that, an informant infiltrated the group.
“This was the ultimate hand-and-glove operation between NYPD and FBI,” said U.S. Rep. Peter King, a Republican from Long Island.
The arrests mark the latest in a series of alleged home grown terrorism plots targeting high-profile American landmarks. (Yahoo News)
Um, easy with that term “home grown” terrorism MSM. Home grown refers to those born in the US, not those that were born elsewhere and infiltrated the US by becoming US citizens. I hardly see any Smith orJones among the following names: Russell Defreitas, Kareem Ibrihim, Abdul Kadir and Abdul Nur.

Rudy Giuliani Smack Down Response of 9/11 to Texas Rep. Ron Paul at Republican Debate II
For the most part the idea of having a debate this far in advance of any primary tends to be more or less a waste of time and just an opportunity for the MSM to have news created for them to rebroadcast. A debate usually requires some back and forth banter between candidates, not what has become all to common these days of politicians spewing forth what their handlers tell them to say. The idea of a debate one would think would be to set yourself a part, not go a long with the same repetitive response. However, every so often, for just a brief and shining moment the debate works. Rudy Giuliani’s response to Ron Paul should be a reminder to all that have forgotten just what took place 9/11/01 and who was responsible. Hear Rudy roar … Its about time.
That’s really an extraordinary statement,” Giuliani said, interrupting FOX News panelist Wendell Goler. “That’s really an extraordinary statement, as someone who lived through the attack of Sept. 11, that we invited the attack because we were attacking Iraq. I don’t think I have ever heard that before and I have heard some pretty absurd explanations for Sept. 11. I would ask the congressman withdraw that comment and tell us that he didn’t really mean that.” (Fox News)
