Arkansas State Police Issue Morgan Nick Amber Alert for 14 Year Old Sidney Nicole Randall Missing Since March 9, 2013 (Update: Step Father John Cornell Found Dead Apparent Suicide)

Arkansas State Police issued a Morgan Nick Amber Alert Monday afternoon. March 11  for a missing 14 year old Sidney Nicole Randall who has not been seen since Saturday night, March 9, 2013. Investigators say Sidney Randall was last seen in her room Saturday night.  Sidney Nicole Randall was last seen wearing  a brown Aeropostale jacket. She is 5 ft. 4 in. tall, 85 pounds, green eyes, with long brown hair just below her shoulder.  Sidney Nicole Randall was believed to have been with her stepfather, 38-year old John Cornell. Her mother woke up around 3:30 a.m. and could not find Sidney nor her husband. John Cornell returned home around 5:30 in the morning and his wife called 911 when she did not see Sidney. She has not been seen since and has literally disappeared.

Members of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Rescue Squad are now helping in the search for a missing Arkansas teen:

Wednesday an army of investigators, rescue squads and search dog teams were back in the area of Lawrence County where John Cornell’s body was found.

Walnut Ridge Police Chief Richy Thatcher says no stone will be left unturned, ”We’re just looking for any kind of clues, leads, anything that we can come up with.”

Chief Thatcher says the search for Sidney has been extensive and exhausting, but no one is ready to give up, ”We’re just hoping that she’s safe, where ever she’s at. Whether he let her out somewhere and she’s hiding or something: just her safety is our concern.”

Authorities are asking the public to check their property for anything suspicious.

John Cornell, the step father who was wanted for questioning in the case of missing 14 year old girl Sidney Randall, was found dead in the Walnut Ridge area this afternoon of a possible self inflicted gun shot wound. Cornell was found in his 2000 red ford ranger.

 UPDATE II: Search for missing Walnut Ridge teen enters day 7.

The search for Sidney Nicole Randell enters day 7 Saturday morning with search crews meeting the public at the Walnut Ridge Fire Department at 9a. A dive crew is currently searching the Big Running Water Creek. Search crews on land are combing many back roads and county roads around the creek. “We back tracked, every little lead that we possibly could find,” Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson said. Arkansas State Police seized the computers John Cornell, Sidney’s step-dad and suspect in her disappearance, recently bought with tax refund money looking for any kind of evidence. Investigators continue to seek the public’s help in the search for Randall. Police have been asking residents to search their properties for anything out of the ordinary, and then call into police so they can mark the area searched on their search map. Even if you don’t find anything on your property, Sheriff Dotson said they still would like for you to call the Dispatch Center with that information.

UPDATE III: Missing teen’s family reveals shocking allegation of molestation.  

“She was a sweet, caring person, but she was keeping something,” her brother Ben Randall said. “She never did tell anybody but she was keeping something from everybody.” Sidney Randall’s father and his live-in partner said they suspected the teenager’s stepfather John Cornell had been molesting her. “She told one of her friends John slugged her in the mouth,” Sidney’s father Victor Randall said. “She was scared of him.” Victor says Cornell seemed to make sure Sidney was with him when he left the home.  “She said she was going to tell,” he said. Lawrence County Sheriff Jody Dotson said that allegations have been made that Cornell might have been abusing Sidney, but that they cannot prove it.
