Mullah Omar, is he dead or alive? Preferably, the latter. Omar was the leader of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan who was wanted by the United States for sheltering al Qaeda terrorist Osama bin Laden for years prior to the 9/11 attacks. The Afghan government has confirmed Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar has been dead since 2013; however, the Afghan president’s and prime minister’s offices offered no specifics as to how or when Omar died. However, final confirmation is needed.
The Afghan government confirmed Wednesday it was looking into reports that longtime Taliban leader Mullah Omar had died.
“We have also seen reports in the media on the death of Mullah Omar, we are assessing those reports,” President Ashraf Ghani’s deputy spokesperson Zafar Hashemi told journalists during a press conference.
Rumors have swirled for years that the one-eyed leader of the militant group that ruled Afghanistan until being toppled by U.S.-backed forces 2001 had passed away. The State Department was offering a $10-million reward for information leading to him.
Earlier Wednesday, an Afghan intelligence official told NBC News the government had come to the conclusion Omar had died.
The source who spoke to NBC News on condition of anonymity said that the issue of Mullah Omar’s death was raised at a meeting with security ministers and members of the country’s high peace council, which is negotiating with the militants.
Radio Free Europe – Afghan Officials Says Taliban Leader Mullah Omar Dead.
Zafar Hashemi, a spokesman for Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, told reporters in Kabul on July 29: “We have received reports about Taliban leader Mullah Omar’s death. At this point, we can’t confirm or deny it. We are assessing the reports.”
There was no immediate reaction to the reports by Afghanistan’s Taliban.
The Taliban’s official spokesmen have repeatedly denied previous reports of Mullah Omar’s death.
But Fidai Mahaz, a splinter group of the Taliban that does not support peace talks with the Afghan government, announced last week earlier that Mullah Omar was dead and had been replaced by Taliban deputy leader Mullah Akhtar Mohammad Mansur.
The reports of Mullah Omar’s death by authorities in Kabul comes at a critical time, with a second round of peace talks between Taliban representatives and Afghan government negotiators scheduled in Pakistan on July 31.
Barack Obama’s JV terrorist killers take credit for slaughter of 33 people in Afghanistan …
Hours after the suicide bombing attack Jalalabad, Afghanistan that saw 33 people killed and more than 100 injured, ISIS took credit for the slaughter. The attack in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nagarhar province, targeted a crowd of soldiers and civilians gathered outside the bank to receive their monthly salaries. Even the Taliban condemned the attack and killing of innocents who were just simply waiting in line outside a bank. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid stated,“It was an evil act. We strongly condemn it.” You know you are a bunch of savage murdering animals when other terrorist groups condemn your killing. But of course, this is the same radical Islamist terrorists that Barack Obama called the JV and says are not Islamic.
A motorcycle-riding suicide bomber attacked a bank branch Saturday in eastern Afghanistan, killing at least 33 people in a deadly attack the country’s president said was claimed by the Islamic State group.
The attack marks a major escalation in the country’s fight against an affiliate of the extremist group that now holds a third of Iraq and Syria in its self-declared caliphate.
It also comes as Afghan security forces fight against the Taliban after U.S. and NATO forces ended their combat mission in the country at the start of the year, yet another challenge for the war-ravaged nation.
The attack in Jalalabad, capital of eastern Nagarhar province, targeted a crowd of soldiers and civilians gathered outside the bank to receive their monthly salaries. The blast killed at least 33 people and wounded more than 100, said Dr. Hamayon Zaheer, the head of Jalalabad’s hospital.
Hours after the attack, President Ashraf Ghani blamed the Islamic State group for the attack.
“In the horrific incident in Nangarhar, who took responsibility? The Taliban didn’t claim responsibility. Daesh claimed responsibility for it,” Ghani said, using an Arabic acronym for the group.
Ghani warned before that the Islamic State group was starting to establish a presence in Afghanistan. He used his visit to the United States last month to reiterate his concerns that the extremist group was making inroads into Afghanistan.
Sgt. Bowe Bergdah Charged with Desertion & Misbehavior Before the Enemy … The Same Individual Obama Admin Said Served with “Honor and Distinction” and Traded 5 Taliban GITMO Prisoners
Sgt. Bowe Bergdah Charged with Desertion … Tell us something everyone did not already know prior to his release.
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who was recovered in Afghanistan last spring after five years in captivity, has been charged with desertion and misbehaving before the enemy. As reported in Stars and Stripes, Bergdahl is charged with one count of Article 85 and one count of Article 99 under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Much of the back-story that Bergdahl was a deserter was known at the time ahead of the deal made for his release. However, Barack Obama has obviously never met a military deserter he did not like. This is the same man that Barack Obama had a Rose Garden ceremony with his parents announcing his release. GOOD GRIEF. Bowe Bergdah, a deserter, a man who deserted his fellow soldiers, was exchanged for 5 top Taliban GTITMO detainees. Compounding this terrible Obama deal to trade an army deserter for 5 top Taliban GITMO detainees, Fox News is reporting that at least three of the five Taliban leaders traded last year for Bergdahl have tried to plug back into their old terror networks.
Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, the U.S. soldier who was recovered in Afghanistan last spring after five years in captivity, has been charged with desertion and misbehaving before the enemy, Army officials said Wednesday, setting the stage for emotionally charged court proceedings in coming months.
Eugene Fidell, Bergdahl’s attorney, told The Washington Post that his client was handed a charge sheet Wednesday. Army officials said in a statement that Bergdahl has been charged with desertion with intent to shirk important or hazardous duty and misbehavior before the enemy by endangering the safety of a command, unit or place. His case has been referred to an Article 32 preliminary hearing, which is frequently compared to a grand jury proceeding in civilian court.
The court hearing for Bergdahl, 28, will be held at Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston in Texas, where Bergdahl has served since shortly after his recovery on May 31, 2014.
Under the misbehavior-before-the-enemy charge, Bergdahl faces a maximum punishment of confinement for life, a dishonorable discharge, a reduction to private and total forfeiture of pay and allowances since the time of his disappearance, Army officials said. The desertion charge carries a maximum punishment of five years in prison, a dishonorable discharge, a reduction to private and a total forfeiture of pay and allowances.
Let’s not beat around the bush, the deal for Bowe Bergdahl was made by Obama for one reason and one reason only, to empty GITMO. Barack Obama cared more about emptying GITMO than he ever cared about the fact that Bowe Bergdah was a deserter. Or the fact that he put his fellow soldiers in harms way. Obama could have cared less. This is what a community agitator does. This is what a liberal ideologue does. This is what an individual does who has nothjing but contemt for the United States military. And sadly, this is what passes as a Commander in Chief today. You should be ashamed America for electing and reelecting the worst president ever.
Article 85 is “desertion with intent to shirk important or hazardous duty.” It carries a maximum potential punishment of a dishonorable discharge, reduction to the rank of private, total forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and five years in prison.
Article 99 is “misbehavior before the enemy by endangering the safety of a command, unit or place.” It carries a maximum potential penalty of dishonorable discharge, reduction to the rank of private, total forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and life in prison.
Remember when Barack Obama flunky Susan Rice said Bowe Bergdahl served with “honor and distinction.” But what else would you expect from an Obama minion, part of an administration that is against everything that the United States once stood for? Really, Bowe Bergdah served the United States with honor and distinction? UNREAL. I wonder what his fellow soldiers think think how he served? Or any other military person who is in harms way and serves this great nation putting their life on the line? Bowe Bergdah didn’t serve the United States with honor and distinction … he deserted his country.
Director of National Intelligence James Clapper contradicts John Kerry, Says 2014 Deadliest Year for Terror Ever Recorded
ARE YOU KIDDING ME, WHO FEELS SAFE FROM TERRORISM WITH THE JV IN THE WHITE HOUSE?
Less than 24 hours after Secretary of State John Kerry told a Foreign Affairs and State Department budget hearing that, “we are actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world than normally— less deaths, less violent deaths today than through the last century,” Director of National Intelligence James Clapper contradicted Kerry in a major way. It turns out according to Director Clapper that we are not safer than any time in the last century. As it turns out, 2014 was the deadliest year for terror, EVER!!!
“When the final accounting is done. 2014 will be the most lethal year in global terrorism in the 45 years such data has been compiled. About half of all attacks including fatalities in 2014 occurred in just three countries, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan.”
Fox News Martha MacCallum could only muster the following in stunned bewilderment, “I guess John Kerry did not get that message.”
Secretary of State John Kerry: Despite ISIS, “We Are Actually Living In A Period Of Less Daily Threat To Americans”
OK AMERICA, WHO HONESTLY BELIEVES THE FOLLOWING WORDS FROM JOHN “FRAUD” KERRY …
UNREAL … Barack Obama’s Secretary of State said the following yesterday, “Our citizens, our world today is actually, despite ISIL, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are”. The partisan hack politician went on to say, we have had “less deaths, less violent deaths today than through the last century.” HUH, GO FIGURE. So in 1915 we had more terrorist threats and deaths than in 2015? Who feels safer today than they did 6 or 7 years ago? That’s it America, don’t believe your lying eyes, believe John Kerry.
What page from Saul Alinsky’s ‘Rules for Radicals’ does this come from … “If you lie to the people long enough, it because the truth. Especially with a complicit liberal propaganda media.
Maybe Kerry should have said, dating back to the time when President Jimmy Carter unleashed the radical Islam with the fall of the Shah of Iran in 1979?
SECRETARY OF STATE JOHN KERRY: And frankly – and last thing, this is counterintuitive but it’s true: Our citizens, our world today is actually, despite ISIL, despite the visible killings that you see and how horrific they are, we are actually living in a period of less daily threat to Americans and to people in the world than normally— less deaths, less violent deaths today than through the last century. And so even the concept of state war has changed in many people’s minds, and we’re seeing now more asymmetrical kinds of struggles.
OBAMA ADMIN: IT ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT TALIBAN IS … SICK, JUST SICK.
Watch WH Obama mouthpiece contort and twist the English language so not to call the Taliban a terrorist group like ISIS so to defend the Obama administrations negotiating for the release of Army deserter Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. ABC News’ Jon Karl, not Fox News, ABC News White House correspondent Karl asked White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz how the Jordanians dealing with ISIS is any different than how the Obama negotiated with the Taliban. The stuttering answer from Eric Schultz should not only surprise you, but make you fear for your national security. This is what happens when you put forth lying talking points that collide with the real world.
White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz said. “I’d also point out that the Taliban is an armed insurgency. ISIL is a terrorist group. So we don’t make concessions to terrorist groups.” Really, the Taliban is not a terrorist group? You mean the same Taliban that murdered 153 people in a massacre at a school in Pakistan? This White House is nothing more than lying scum that put the United States of America at rick every day. It is one thing to torture the English language over what the word is, is when you are Bill Clinton trying to save his bacon amid a sex scandal, it is quite another when the safety of America and the world is at risk.
FOX News Poll … 47% say Obama downplays threat from Islamic terrorists. JUST 47%, REALLY?
JONATHAN KARL, ABC NEWS: You say the United States government does not give in to demands, does not pay ransom. But how is what the Jordanians are talking about doing any different than what the United States did to get the release of [Bowe] Bergdahl — releasing prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay to the Taliban, which is clearly a terrorist organization?
ERIC SCHULTZ, WHITE HOUSE DEPUTY PRESS SECRETARY: As you know, this was highly discussed at the time and prisoner swaps are traditional end-of-conflict interaction that happens. As the war in Afghanistan wound down we thought it was the appropriate thing to do. The president’s bedrock commitment as commander in chief is to leave no man or woman behind. That’s the principle he was operating under.
KARL: Isn’t that what the Jordanians are operating under?
SCHULTZ: Well, I think Jon –
KARL: I mean the Taliban is still conducting terrorist attacks. You can’t really say the war has ended as far as they are concerned.
SCHULTZ: Well, I’d also point out that the Taliban is an armed insurgency, ISIL is a terrorist group. So, we don’t make concessions to terrorist groups. We feel –
KARL: You don’t think the Taliban is a terrorist group?
SCHULTZ: I don’t think that the Taliban, um, uh — the Taliban is an armed insurgency. This was the winding down of the war in Afghanistan and that’s why this arrangement was dealt. Our view is, as the president said at the time, is as commander in chief when he sends men and women into armed combat he doesn’t want to leave anyone behind.
Take a good look at to what the Obama WH does not consider a terror group as they murder innocents at a school
YUP, The Taliban is not a terror group, as says Obama administration
ABC News’ Jon Karl asked how this differs from the U.S. decision to swap Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban leaders at Guantanamo Bay — returning them “to the Taliban, which is clearly a terrorist organization.”
“As you know, uh, this was highly discussed at the time and prisoner swaps are a traditional end-of-conflict, uh, interaction that happens. As the war in Afghanistan wound down, we felt like it was the appropriate thing to do. The president’s bedrock commitment as commander in chief is to leave no man or woman behind, that’s the principle he was operating under,” White House deputy press secretary Eric Schultz said. “I’d also point out that the Taliban is an armed insurgency. ISIL is a terrorist group. So we don’t make concessions to terrorist groups.”
Karl followed, “You don’t think the Taliban is a terrorist group?”
Schultz had some trouble answering.
“I don’t think that the Taliban, um — uh – the Taliban is an armed insurgency,” Schultz said. “This was the winding down of the war in Afghanistan, and that’s why this arrangement was dealt.”
Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl To Be Charged With Desertion … Attorney Has Received “Charge Sheet” … Obama Admin Keeping Details Hidden From the Public (Update: Pentagon Denies Desertion Assertion)
According retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer, Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl will be charged with desertion. Shaffer, senior fellow at the London Center for Policy Research, said to Bill O’Reilly on The O’Reilly Factor that Bergdahl’s attorney has received the “charge sheet” from the Army describing the desertion charges. However, mum is the word from the Obama administration. According to many sources, including those who served with him, Sgt. Bergdahl left his unit in Afghanistan without permission in 2009 and was captured by the Taliban. Bergdahl was called a deserter, not a hero. Bergdahl was held prisoner by the Taliban for five years. Bergdahl was released in a prisoner exchange for the GITMO 5. This was already an unpopular decision, according to the American people, let’s see how Barack Obama spins his way out of this one. Obama’s military hero is a deserter.
Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was reportedly held captive by Taliban militants for five years, will be charged with desertion for leaving his post, according to sources of retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer. Bergdahl was only released after President Barack Obama negotiated with the terrorists, agreeing to release five prisoners from Guantanamo Bay.
Shaffer, senior fellow at the London Center for Policy Research, told Bill O’Reilly on Monday night that his sources have confirmed the Army has concluded its investigation and Bergdahl’s lawyer has been given a “charge sheet” informing him of the desertion charge.
Shaffer also said the Obama administration has been keeping details on the desertion charges hidden from the public. He personally placed blame on Ben Rhodes, Obama’s deputy national security advisor.
Mr. Shaffer also accused the Obama administration of trying to keep the detail of Sgt. Bergdahl’s charges hidden.
“This is shaping up to be a titanic struggle behind the scenes,” he said. “Believe me, the Army here wants to do the right thing … And the White House, because of the political narrative, President Obama cozying up to the parents and because he, President Obama, releasing the five Taliban … The narrative is what the White House does not want to have come out.”
Sadly, the Pentagon is acting as a political shill of the WH rather than what their intended purpose is for. The Pentagon is basically calling retired Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer a liar when they know damn well its the truth. The investigation into Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is over and it is obvious that he was a deserter. The Pentagon and WH will have egg on their face.
That accusation had resulted in a strong denial from the Pentagon earlier in the day.
“They said there’s no time limit on this decision. (Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John) Kirby even said there’s no pressure … Of course, the moment you say that, there’s pressure,” said Shaffer, who works at the London Center for Policy Research. “What they didn’t say was more compelling than their denial.”
Shaffer, who believes the White House’s alleged decision to delay its announcement is politically motivated, added that he stands by “all of those facts,” referring to his report on Monday that Bergdahl’s lawyer has been given a statement of charges.
Maj. Gen. Ronald F. Lewis, the Army’s chief of public affairs, put out a statement Tuesday afternoon calling the reports, including a similar one by NBC News, “patently false.”
“To be clear there have been no actions or decisions on the Sgt. Bergdahl investigation,” he said. “The investigation is still with the commanding general of U.S. Army Forces Command who will determine appropriate action — which ranges from no further action to convening a court martial.”
UNREAL … OBAMA RELEASES 4 GITMO DETAINEES BACK TO AFGHANISTAN …
One way or another, whether it is in the best interest of United States security or not, Barack Obama will let all the detainees out of GITMO before he leaves the White House. Obama’s latest efforts just released 4 detainees back to Afghanistan. Don’t worry though, it is not like 168 of the GITMO detainees released return to terrorist. Oh wait, they do. But what does Obama care. He is going to do anything he damn well pleases in his final years as president because we have gutless Republican leadership who stand for nothing and have the spine of a jellyfish.
The Pentagon on Saturday announced that it had transferred four detainees from the Guantanamo Bay prison facility back to their home country of Afghanistan.
The Defense Department said all four men had been “unanimously approved for transfer” by the president’s interagency Guantanamo Review Task Force, which examines the possible security ramifications of releasing prisoners from the facility.
The transfers will bring the prison’s population down to 131, with 63 of the remaining detainees already cleared for removal.
The president has made closing the controversial facility a top priority in the final years of his presidency, and summoned senior administration officials to the White House last month to complain about the pace of efforts to close the detention center.
The meeting was seen largely as a message to Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel, who the White House believed was dragging his feet in signing off on guarantees that the five upcoming transferees did not pose a security threat, according to the wire service.. There’s speculation that Hagel’s resistance played a role in the president’s decision to remove the Pentagon chief, who announced his intention to resign last month.
Obama stressed to the officials that he wanted action on efforts to shutter the controversial facility. The president pledged in his 2008 campaign that he would close the prison, and has come under fire from critics on the left for failing to achieve that goal.
- Death toll reaches 141, mostly children, in the aftermath of the Pakistani Taliban attack on a school run by the military
Taliban Terrorists Attack School … Kill 126 People, Most Children, Take Hostages in Peshawar, Pakistan (VIDEO) (Update: 141 Dead)
Yup, you got terrorism is on the run President Obama …
Bahramand Khan, director of information for the regional Chief Minister’s Secretariat, said at least 126 people were killed and 122 wounded. A group of Taliban gunman attacked the school and murdered children in response to the Pakistan military launching a military offense against them. This is their justification, slaughtering children?
At least 126 people, most of them children, were killed on Tuesday when Taliban gunmen stormed a school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, taking hundreds of students hostage in the bloodiest insurgent attack in the country in years.
Troops surrounded the building and an operation was underway to rescue children still trapped inside, the army said.
Hours into the siege, three explosions were heard inside the military-run high school, and a Reuters journalist at the scene said he heard heavy gunfire.
Outside, as helicopters rumbled overhead, police struggled to hold back distraught parents who were trying to break past a security cordon and get into the school.
Bahramand Khan, director of information for the regional Chief Minister’s Secretariat, said at least 126 people were killed and 122 wounded.
All six attackers are said by officials to have been killed but the security forces are still checking for bombs they may have left.
Scores of survivors are being treated in hospitals as frantic parents search for news of their children.
The attack is the deadliest ever by the Taliban in Pakistan.
The BBC’s Shahzeb Jillani in Karachi says the militants appear to have been intent on killing as many students as possible – rather than taking hostages, as initially thought.

An assault led by the Taliban on a Pakistan military-run school Tuesday left 141 people dead, 132 of which were children, officials say, in the worst attack to hit the country in years.
The horrific attack in Peshawar, carried out by a relatively small number of militants from the Tehreek-e-Taliban group, a Pakistani militant group trying to overthrow the government, also sent dozens of wounded flooding into local hospitals as terrified parents searched for their children.
Pakistani military spokesman Asim Bajwa told a news conference Tuesday that 132 of the dead were children and another nine were staff members.
He said there were seven attackers, who all wore explosive vests.
UPDATE II: Country shuts down today to mourn deaths.
President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and other political leaders and people from all walks of life Tuesday strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack on Army Public School in Peshawar in which many precious human lives were lost.
They expressed sorrow and grief over the loss of precious human lives in the attack. They also expressed deep sympathies with the bereaved families and directed the authorities concerned to provide the best medical assistance to the injured. They also reiterated that such coward attacks cannot deter the resolve and morale of Pakistani nation, adding that operation against militants would continue till the elimination of last terrorist.
The prime minister and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister announced the three-day mourning over the tragedy. The prime minister also called a meeting of all the parliamentary parties at Governor’s House today (Wednesday) at 11.00 am to discuss the situation arising out of the terrorist attack at the Army Public School and College.
