Zumba Sex Scandal in Kennebunk, Maine … Alexis Wright Pleads Guilty to 20 Misdemeanor Counts, Down from 106 Counts Including Felonies

Alexis Wright, the Zumba instructors turned prostitute, gets slap on the wrist plea deal.

Zumba instructor Alexis Wright and her attorney, Sarah Churchill, appeared in court on Friday, March 29, 2013 in Cumberland County Court, in Portland, Maine.  In a scandal that has rocked the small coastal New England town of Kennebunk, Maine, Alexis Wright, who had been of using her Zumba fitness studio as a front for prostitution, pleaded guilty to 20 misdemeanor counts. All felony counts against Wright were reduced to misdemeanor. The scandal has embarrassed many as the list of names of Wright’s presumed clients has caused some to lose their jobs and have charges filed against them. More than 150 men,  and at least one woman, were being investigated for whether they paid for sex at Wright’s Pura Vida Zumba dance studio, and 66 men faced misdemeanor soliciting charges.

Former fitness instructor Alexis Wright, 30, had been accused of working with Mark Strong Sr. to operate a brothel. She was also charged with 106 counts of prostitution, violation of privacy, tax evasion and welfare fraud in a scandal that rocked the town of Kennebunk, Maine.

The plea deal included reducing the three tax-related felonies to misdemeanors, according to the Portland Press Herald.

Wright could face up to 10 months in jail and her sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 31. She will be free on bail until then.

Alexis Wright is due to be sentenced May 31. Prosecutors are set to ask for a sentence of 10 months. 10 MONTHS!!! Are you kidding me, this is how they prosecute prostitution is Maine? I think you get more jail time for stealing lobsters.

Former 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event winner Greg “Fossilman” Raymer has been arrested in a prostitution sting in Wake Forest, NC. Raymer should have obviously folded, as opposed to going all in responding to a prostitution ad.  A Wake Forest Police Department spokesperson said Greg Raymer was one of six men who went to the hotel when they responded to an advertisement posted by undercover police on a website often used by prostitutes. The bond for the men was set at $1,000 and they due to appear in court on April 18, 2013.

A former winner of the World Series of Poker was arrested in a prostitution sting at a Wake Forest hotel earlier this week, according to police.

A Wake Forest Police Department spokesperson said Gregory Paul Raymer, 48, was one of six men who responded to an advertisement posted by undercover police on a popular website men often seek out female prostitutes.

The men face misdemeanor charges of prostitution and attempted crimes against nature.

Raymer, nicknamed “Fossilman,” is best known for winning the 2004 World Series of Poker Main Event. According to Wake County records, Raymer owns a house in Wakefield valued at $1.6 million.

 

Greg Raymer’s attorney, Wade Smith, issued a statement:

“Mr. Raymer is very sorry for this lapse in judgment. He regrets deeply the pain he has caused his family, friends and fans. Mr. Raymer is grateful for the many expressions of support he has received.”

In another situation of seven degrees of separation, one of the other arrested in the prostitution sting was 41 year old Christopher Burell Shella. Why is this bizarre?   Christopher Burell Shella once worked as an attorney for Duke Lacrosse faux accuser Crystal Mangum after she was arrested on murder charges in 2011. FBI Investigating Sen. Bob Menendez (NJ-D) for Sex with Underage Dominican Republic Prostitutes

The FBI is investigating New Jersey Democrat Senator Bob Menendez for sex with underage female prostitutes while on trips to the Dominican Republic. According to reports, the prostitutes were as young as 16 years old. How exactly is this guy still in office? Heck, disgraced NY Representative Anthony Weiner left office because of lewd pics on Twitter. All Menendez is doing is paying for sex with underage Dominican Republic hookers. This is a crime, is it not? WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?

Documents published online for the first time Thursday indicate that the FBI opened an inquiry into New Jersey Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez on August 1, 2012, focusing on repeated trips he took to the Dominican Republic with longtime campaign contributor and Miami eye doctor Salomon Melgen. TheDC reported in November that Menendez purchased the service of prostitutes in that Caribbean nation at a series of alcohol-fueled sex parties.

The documents, which The Daily Caller had obtained hours earlier from an anonymous source, also indicate that Carrie Levine, research director at Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), was alerted on April 9, 2012 to Menendez’s habit of paying for sex while outside the United States.

I am guessing that Bob Menendez did not take the below video to heart. Instead he wanted to further exploit the exploited. How is this man still a US Senator? This is an FBI investigation where Menendez has exploited the most vulnerable in a country where children are treated like a commodity.

Who are the children and aspects of vulnerability? 
According to newspaper reports approximately 30,000 children and adolescents are involved in the sex industry. Two thirds of those are girls. The main reason for entering prostitution is to support themselves, their children or their family. It has also been found that girls enter prostitution with the aspiration of meeting a rich foreign man that takes them abroad. 
Children become involved in prostitution through friends and family who encourage them to migrate and help them to find jobs and settle into tourist areas.  
“Many minors, both boys and girls start to work in prostitution between the ages of thirteen – fourteen. Girls are considered sexually available by the time they are twelve – thirteen, while the boys tend to move from shoe shining into offering sexual services as a way of distancing themselves from shoe shining which is considered a childish profession”. 
Boys often move into the top end of the market as ‘Sanky Pankies1’, men aged eighteen to thirty who often work for hotels or have some other employment in the tourist sector and mostly provide sexual services for tourist women.  
While one reason that children become involved in prostitution is to support the family, there are a number of other causes:

 On Wednesday, June 13, members of the Occupy movement protested against a conference dedicated to combatting child sex trafficking — thus, the Occupiers in essence were coming out in favor of one of society’s most loathsome moral crimes.

The protesters mostly were members of Occupy Oakland Patriarchy, a group within the overall Occupy movement tasked with overthrowing our civilization’s “patriarchy.”

The conference which so infuriated them was called HEAT Watch, short for the National Human Exploitation And Trafficking Watch Conference.

What ever happened to beauty contestants just saying that they were for world peace? Miss Ohio misses the issue of prostitution and the devastating effects it has on woman.

Have morals and standards really changed that much in the United States? During the Miss USA contest Miss Ohio was asked the following question, do you think woman are depicted in movies and in television in an accurate and positive way?  The answer … um, Miss Ohio thinks that Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’ playing a prostitute was an example of woman being played in a positive manner. Really, Hollywood glorifying prostitution is a positive thing? UNREAL!
