Natalee Holloway:Paulus van der Sloot, father of Joran van der Sloot, dead of cardiac arrest

Breaking news out of Aruba. Paulus van der sloot, father of prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway case Joran van der Sloot, died this evening while playing tennis of a cardiac arrest.

UPDATE I: Paulus Van der Sloot Dies at the age of 57 from a cardiac arrest

Paulus Van der Sloot, the father of Joran Van der Sloot and the last person reported to have ever seen Alabama teen Natalee Holloway alive has died of a cardiac arrest while playing tennis in Aruba at the Tierra del Sol estate.

Media on Aruba are reporting that Paul van der Sloot, the father of the main suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance case, has died.

Joran van der Sloot’s father collapsed on Wednesday evening when playing tennis at the Tierra del Sol estate on the Dutch Caribbean island. Emergency service staff were unable to resuscitate him. Paul van der Sloot was aged 57.

His son Joran is still suspected of involvement in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway on Aruba in May 2005. The case was brought back into the limelight when crime reporter Peter R. de Vries secretly filmed Joran van der Sloot claiming that he had dumped Natalee’s body in the ocean. The potentially incriminating statement was not accepted as evidence by the court.

In the end there is a Justice that outweighs man’s justice

In a Dutch article from HvNL, De Vries discusses the death of Paulus Van der Sloot and talks about it was always his opinion that Joran Van der Sloot was responsible for Natalee Holloway’s disappearance and that his father, the recently deceased Paulus Van der Sloot helped his son hide her body.

UPDATE II: I chatted with Jossy Mansur early this morning via email and he was gracious enough to provide Scared Monkeys with the follwoing translation from their front page Diario article on Paulas Van der Sloot.

Paul Van der Sloot died last night
He was playing tennis and fell to the ground.

ORANJESTAD (AAN) The well-known lawyer Paul van der Sloot died last night. He was playing tennis and at a certain moment collapsed. The information that DIARIO has says that the ambulance came immediately to the site and started to reanimate him. He was placed in the ambulance and was taken to the hospital, but not much could be done to save his life. Mr. Paul van der Sloot was a lot in the local and international news some time back after his son, Joran van der Sloot, became a suspect in the case of the disappearance of the young American girl Nathallee Holloway. This may have had an effect on  his health. Peace to his remains and strength to his family.

Jossy Mansur, the managing editor of Diario also provided us with the following:

“Justice has a strange way of correcting irregularities committed in its name. In this particular case, Paul had the necessary information we needed to solve the case, but decided to take it with him to his tomb. His version (the true one) we will never know. And we can never depend on Joran to come clean with what happened to Natalee.

Yes, Paul died playing tennis yesterday afternoon. God forgive him!

      Judgement day for Paulus!

It’s coming for the rest of them too, it’s only a matter of time. Then they’ll all know the true meaning of HIGHER POWER.

      Truth and Justice for Natalee!

I’ve been looking for confirmation. His judgment is up to God now. He certainly left this world with a lot of unfinished business.

      Loving Natalee – Beth Holloway

Page 149: My arms rest on top of the investigation notebook I carry with me all the time. Natalee’s reward poster with her picture on it is inside the front clear cover, in plain view. Paulus’ arms are on the table. Our knuckles are only inches apart. His arms are shaking. His fists are clenched.

“You’re responsible for Aruba being trapped in hell,” I tell him, still calm. “You can change that. But Aruba will stay in a perpetual state of hell until you come forward.” …

Page 150-151: Pulling a couple of prayer bracelets out of my pocket. I offer them to the van der Sloots. First I tie one on Anita’s arm, then ask Paulus if he would like one. He lifts his clench-fisted arm, shaking as if he has Parkinson’s disease, and tries very hard to hold it up. What a pathetic form of a man he is, I think — a very different person from the one who stood so brazenly in his front yard in the wee hours that first morning facing down Aruban police and our men from home. I take my time tying the bracelet, very, very slowly, and explain the meaning of the three cords of yarn.

“Paulus, this bracelet stands for a Bible verse. It’s Ecclesiasties 4:12. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” I finish the tying and gently pat the knot. “There you go.”

And right then the bracelet looks different to me. I see the three cords as the suspects, and the knot at the end holding them together as Paulus. It’s not just clear — it’s crystal clear. THERE ARE POTENTIALLY FOUR PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO NATALEE. WE NEED THE KNOT TO COME LOOSE AND THE THREE CORDS TO UNRAVEL.

      ‘Scarborough Country’ – August 1, 2005

JOE SCARBOROUGH, HOST: You know, I don‘t want to sound naive here, Dave, but how does that make you feel? I mean, I can‘t imagine me instructing my son, if he were involved in something like this, on how to cover up a disappearance and a possible murder. Just on a personal level, as a father, how does it make you feel, looking into the eyes of another father, of another 17- or 18-year-old who‘s got the information on where your daughter is tonight, possibly, and yet it seems like he‘s doing everything he can to hide that truth?

DAVE HOLLOWAY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY’S FATHER: It‘s hard. And you‘ve got to obey the law. And that‘s one of the reasons I brought him some spiritual books to look at. AND MAYBE HE’LL HAVE A CHANGE OF HEART. It all comes down to morals.

And one of the statements that I really remember, and it sinks in, is, he can understand my position as a father, but, as the father of Joran, he‘ll do anything to protect his son. And I believe that he will, UNLESS HE HAS A CHANGE OF HEART.

    5. fran on February 11th, 2010 1:43 am

I saw the blurb on Greta tonite.

Seriously, I feel numb as far as his passing.

The name of Natalee Holloway is like opening an old wound to me. I’ll never get over what happened to Natalee AND her family, FROM the Island of Aruba.

I followed Natalee’s case closely and may not know everything that transpired, but know enough that it’s heartbreaking to think this type of thing can happen in the world of today.

At the least, the Van der Sloot family KNOWS what happened to their loved one and will be able to properly put him to rest. THAT is WORLD’S away from what THEY allowed the Holloways.

PS…..bless the Monkeys for their years of dedication in following and searching for Justice for Natalee!

All I can say is good riddence to a pitiful excuse of a man and father. Too bad it wasn’t Joran and the Kalpoe boys. God forgive me but that is how I feel. The only thing I regret is like #5 Fran said above the van der Sloot’s know what happened and can give Paulus what Natalee and her family were robbed of. is there no justice in this world?

    7. Ed Henderson on February 11th, 2010 2:13 am

Well maybe there is justice after all. The slimy father of the slimy killer of Natalie Holloway has died. Three cheers. I’m only sorry that Mom and Juran weren’t on the Grim Reaper’s guest list.

These pricks all hid behind “Dutch Law” and their positions of privilege.

Mr. Van Der Sloot…pack some shorts and tee shirts. Your headed off to the Hell Island section of “Club Dead”.

      Good riddance!

    8. Mike on February 11th, 2010 2:20 am

Although it is disrespectful to speak of the deceased, I feel there is an exception with the death of this wimp of a man. May be in the hottest place in the world, burning while feeling the pain for eternity.

I have no sympathy for him nor his family. I hope they feel the heaviness of losing someone they love and each time the grief appears to them, they think of Natalee and how they took her away from her family and friends. I hope their grief overwhelms them to the point that they feel they cannot breathe. I hope each night they lose sleep over their loss. I hope each night they think about what their family has done to Natalee’s. I hope there is never redemtion for the family that protected a spoiled murderer.

May Natalee be resting in peace knowing she was loved by her family & friends and that strangers, such as I, grieve for her untimely death.

      F. the BEYOOOOTCH! 1 down, 3 to go.

I thought about recommending a sea burial for him.

      On, second thought… forget that.

The ocean is beautiful. So was Natalee Ann Holloway. When I look out at the water, waves
and horizon… I like to focus on the beauty
      of the sea and Natalee.

      Oh no…

Bury that rancid sack of bugs, Paulus Van der sloot, like a dead pig under some run down choller
house. Make sure to mark it with some driftwood so
all the drunks of Aruba can swing by a spring a wizzer on his grave. Anita will like that… she’s an artist!

    10. rob on February 11th, 2010 2:22 am

good. im glad he died. i hope he suffered for protecting that scumbag kid of his. how is it that kid is still free after admitting all that stuff on tape? if natalie was my daughter (no offense to her dad) id have killed him myself and gladly sat in prison for it. or had him killed. and the kalpoes know what happened too. they could use a good scare. i dont believe in god or fate but what goes around comes around – joran, kalpoes: you will get yours

Well, I reckon Paulass van der Slut has finally met his maker. If true, a little piece of JUSTICE has finally been served, but deep, dark secrets and answers will be lost forever as to what really happened to Natalee.

    16. CBB on February 11th, 2010 7:05 am

There are many people who know the story of what happened to Natalee………….. and what they did to cover it up. Paulus was one of them, but he was among the ones with the most to loose. He would never have talked. I’m hoping that his death will loosen the tongues of others.

His involvement had eternal significance, and he is face to face with it now. I wouldn’t be in his soul for anything.

Anita and Urin I hope yer all happy knowing your loved one is sweating in HELL for eternity and yer all NEXT !!!
I truly hope now that the POS is going to join the worms some will come forward with information about Natalee.
I truly hope Natalee suporters crash paulass’s wedding with the devil and in time to come I hope someone tags his headstone with Natalees name. I think it sucks that paulass gets a funeral and grave while Natalee got nothing !!!
To bad HELL is so far away from heaven and that Natalee will never get to front the man that help her demise.
To the vandercrap family, When you start to miss paulass remember he is rotting in hell getting raped by the devil just like they all did to natalee !!! The only differance is Natalee is resing for eternity in Gods arms and paulass is supplying water from his sweat for all of hells victims to drink !!!

The psychopath Joran probably doesn’t really care much about daddy’s passing. He doesn’t care about anyone but himself. It will be inconvenient not having him around to bail him out of trouble and cover up his crimes.

It will be interesting to see if some of the people “in the know” blow the whistle on this little twerp now that the corrupt “judge in training” is out of the picture.

My prayers go out to the family for this unexpected death. Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord, although from these posts I guess I’m the only one who agrees! Bottom line is these kids got drunk and high and didn’t know what they were doing and a terrible accident occurred. And because of their youth, the boys covered up rather than come clean. But I can’t condemn the father for covering up for his son. Any one here would do the same for their own child. Bottom line is that Natalie was dead and nothing would bring her back. Even Obama would rather send his daughters for an abortion than to have them “suffer” with having a child out of wedlock. Kids do outrageous, stupid things and sometimes, so do parents. But he who is without sin here, cast the first stone. Perhaps if we teach our kids to be and act more responsibly, and teach them the buddy system when they’re out of the country, perhaps they’ll avoid tragedy like the one that took place in Aruba.

Anita! When you cry your tears of mourning at your dead Husband’s funeral, the US has hardened our hearts long ago—-shame on you! You let him die with the secret and you, too have kept silent to protect your imbalanced offspring! You are just as guilty and the voices you hear at night in your head will not go away.

3 more to go is right! The world awaits other news in the final demise of Joran and the Kalpoe Brothers. Just as this happened, surely- they will also meet their cruel fate.

One down and three to go….I remember watching him sweat in the Aruba heat as Beth put the hammer down on him…But I realized, as I watched him, that as hot as it was there, the heat was not what was causing his profuse sweating..Guilt and Beth were causing that sweat…

All I can say, is that I am glad he is used to the heat…He will surely need that old familiarity as he surely burns now… God forgive me as I judge, however….

I can only hope that as he drew his last breath, that Natalee, and the wrong he inflicted upon her by covering up the sins of his son, were his last visions….

Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord….

    48. Maggie on February 11th, 2010 1:35 pm

Who cares??!! Paulus was only one person. Move on..Anita, Noone gives a damn about Paulus. Just using the sloots and Kalpoes words back at them. Do you think the ambulance showed up and said be right with you after I have my frosted flakes, coffee and shave?!

Buy all these Bozo’s a game of clue and they still wouldn’t have one.

Doesn’t matter if Paulus lived, he wouldn’t tell the truth either.. Like father, like son.. Paulus supposedly sleeping away and woke up comes to the door carrying his cell phone.. wouldn’t you know he needs it to call Joran.. Leading the cops away from the house for over an hour for a good reason. Still believe that is Paulus sitting by Natalee.

I have watched missing person cases on the news at times, but when I first watched this I was getting so angry at how Natalee and her family were treated and portrayed by Aruba and these creeps. It was beyond outrageous. It only got worse. I have never seen such injustice done to one family and the victim of a crime or so many Liars and jerks who never were for justice for Natalee. I won’t forget how these 2 families tried to destroy a mother searching for her only daughter, and how they tried to smear Natalee with their lies and names. Natalee is 100 times the person any of these people will ever be. I think of her everyday and feel so awful her family can not even have her body to give her a proper burial. I have her missing poster Tim Miller sent me on my desk. Natalee’s family is the picture of courage.. NOT ONE person ‘cept for Jossy ever stood up in Aruba for justice for Natalee.

Jug Twitty called it like it was right from the start.. a cover up.

I remember Dave saying Paulus shook his hand at the prison and wouldn’t let go..kept shaking it and looked him in the eyes and said I would do anything to protect my son..

Natalee didn’t get to live 57 years, go to college, get married, have kids..Natalee was just celebrating her high school graduation, having fun and never deserved any of this.

      Such heartless creeps..

    57. Susan on February 11th, 2010 5:38 pm

      I second your comments, #54 – justice4nat!

I told my daughter this morning, who is a month younger than Natalee, that if she or her brother ever did something “bad”, I’d turn them in to the authorities in a heartbeat…no ands, ifs or buts about it.

      and the boycott rolls on!

    58. suchislife on February 11th, 2010 5:39 pm

I agree with you #54; what #44 said was just pure horse bull. What kind of parent would help their son or daughter cover up a major crime? Any crime? Yes, stand by them and give them emotional support, but a good parent does not do what the Vander Sloots did. My own son broke into a bunch of businesses and stole thousands of dollars. The minute I heard about it, I put him in the car, drove him to the P.D. It was the hardest thing to do, but I knew he would never learn if I didn’t do it. He did a little jail time (1st offense) and today he has a darn good job, a wife, house, and a beautiful daughter. He’s actually doing better financially than I am! The best day of my life was when he sent me a letter from prison thanking me for what I had done.

Beth Holloway Twitty didn’t lie about how or when she got to Aruba or anything else for that matter! You are a just trying to get something started, aren’t you? And by the way, the Aruban authorities traveled to Mtn Brook to question the kids and chaperones.

    60. Maggie on February 11th, 2010 5:52 pm

#44 I have 3 adult sons.. They didn’t grow up in casinos half the night drinking and gambling underage. or do this 20 times before and nothing bad happened. You really believe if my son called me and said there’s been an accident, my gf overdosed on alcohol and is in distress that I would say hold on.. I’ll be right there to get rid of her..? There was a reason they had to hide her body. it’s called evidence.

When is it open season on girls going out dancing and and drinking with friends? Perhaps Natalee was slipped a drug.. in her drink. Maybe he said it was a taxi.. Why did he serve that strong drink when everyone was leaving?

Bottom line is if Paulus would’ve kept his underage son out of the casino drinking and gambling that night… he would never have met Natalee.. If he would’ve kept him out of Carlos n Charlies underage with his vip pass.. Natalee would have went back to her room with her friends and been fine.. He was never even in trouble for taking his son to a casino underage to gamble and drink.

Recently here, 2 boys stole a narcotic painkiller patch and scraped the medicine off of it and smoked it with 2 girls.. One of the 17 year old girls passed out… sick.. They went to the emergency room, but it was too late.. She died. They are all being held now. What they did was terrible, but at least they owned up to what they did. They didn’t get together with their father and make up lie after lie and frame 2 innocent men for doing it, 5 years later continue to lie.

I could not cover up a child missing like this and sleep at night if I knew about it. I couldn’t imagine going to sleep night after night and not knowing where my child is. Natalee was a wonderful young lady.

    61. on February 11th, 2010 5:57 pm

“And because of their youth, the boys covered up rather than come clean. But I can’t condemn the father for covering up for his son. Any one here would do the same for their own child.”

      #44 AmericanBelle on February 11th, 2010 1:00 pm

Sorry, but that’s incorrect. A parent that loves their child understands there are hard lessons to learn in life and one of them is taking responsibility for your actions even if it caused an “accident” and the death of a young girl.

Had Joran told the truth right away, there would have been some gnashing of teeth and perhaps even a small 6 month or less sentence IF the death of Natalee was indeed an accident. Beth and Dave would have gone through hell, but nothing like the continued hell they have gone through because of Joran’s continuous lies with the help of his parents.

Think how many times Dave and Beth have had their chains yanked by Aruba officials and the Van der Sloot family.

I still want to know who the man was next to Natalee in the Casino that had Paulus’ bald spot and watch.

No, I don’t wish him dead. Yes, what happens to Paulus and the Van der Sloot family is totally up to their Maker. I do not celebrate anyone’s death, but it is true that I do not morn the death of Ed Kennedy, Murtha or Paulus Van der Sloot.

      1. I didn’t do the research. It’s an impartial journalist who found this out and made a documentary about it. Of course it didn’t get airplay like that horrendous Lifetime documentary.
Just thought I’d share it with everyone to give another perspective on the case.

      2. Yes they did. But they had to submit the questions they wanted to ask up front to the FBI who had the right to scrap whichever question they wanted. Furthermore, the Aruban police was also limited in their time to interrogate.

All Beth and Dave got was a bunch of freaking lies from the so called authorities and the suspects, including Paulass van der Slut himself.

If you didn’t do the research, why spew garbage out of your mouth if you don’t know whether or not it’s fact or fiction? Was this impartial journalist credible? I DON’T THINK SO!

      ‘Rita Cosby Live & Direct’ – April 11, 2006

JOHN Q. KELLY, HOLLOWAY FAMILY ATTORNEY: … And it’s sort of ironic that it’s his father who brought his underage son to a casino and left him there after he left, with access to his line of credit, to put this unfortunate chain of events in process.

You know, if Joran had never been there, not been allowed in there, because he’s underage and wasn’t accompanied by his father, the whole rest of the night wouldn’t have happened.

RITA COSBY, HOST: You know, and, John, also, why would that be a significant—why is that in conflict to something else we’ve heard maybe from Paulus before?

KELLY: Well, he’s just claiming that, you know, he’s kept an eye on his son, you know, he’s kept him on a short leash, and, you know, his son is very well-behaved. And it turns out that he’s, you know, got him at casinos. If you’re under 18, you’re not legally even allowed in casinos, so his son was breaking the law with him enabling it.

The truth is now buried forever as it doesn´t seem to me that Joran´s mother is in on the truth. Or she is also a very good liar.

      Have these people no morals?!

It is so horrible and so unsatisfactory that after all this boy just runs of to Bankok to no doubt further continue his budding business of exploiting young women.

The notion that there are people like the Van der Sloot family out there scares me tremendously.

One side note though, anger and emotion ought not to override sense and intelligence. Despite these terribly bad people that are most likely literally getting away with murder, please look at the mishaps in your own legal system before judging others.
I feel it is important to stand by the principle of innocent until proven guilty. There has been no proof and even though we all feel in our guts that this boy has done it, there is no evidence. (the interview with De Vries is no evidence, except of the fact that this boy is seriously mentally ill). As terrible as this particular case may be, it still is better to have some murderers on the loose for lack of evidence then murdering people yourself and calling it justice.

I have mixed emotions about Paulus death. It reminds me of the nightmare this man caused our family, my brother Dave his wife Robin and Jug and Beth, to impede justice to protect his son.

Paulus had to have a great deal of grief to carry around all these’s years. I don’t believe he could have been a happy man, I mean truly happy. The kind of happiness that you get from someone telling you that you have a wonderful child and they are a blessing to have in their class room or the kind of happiness you get after helping a person in need, whether its big or small making a different in their life.

God wants us to serve others.

Paulus needed help but chose blindly to help his son hide behind his influence with Judges and knowledge of the law. With such a burden to carry is it possible that Paulus made a video confessing the true events that happen, to lighten his conscience? I will not hold my breath.

Paulus right now is in one of two places, Heaven or hell. It was his choice, no one else’s. If he’s in Hell its not anybody’s fault but his, not our family and certainly not anything Natalee did.

The only good from his death is to show the rest of his family what its like to lose a loved one. Now we have something in common. I pray he made peace with God before he passed away.

Now the last commit on his death. You may ask yourself do I believe what I preach about “GOD” and JESUS CHRIST saving us from our sins and forgiving others of the wrong they do against us. The answer is YES. I don’t cause the burden around with me twenty four seven of hate, or murder in my heart, or vengeance which is God’s and unforgiveness. I give it to GOD and live my life the best I can for HIM. Now I make this choice.

      I forgive Paulus.

Outside of Joran, I can summon some sympathy for Paulus’ family. However, I turned against the man early on. Remember, he coached Joran the first night when Natalee’s family arrived that he didn’t have to talk. And it’s pretty clear he spoiled Joran rotten. What kind of father lets his 17 year old son drink and gamble with abandon, and come and go as he pleases, with his own separate house to boot? I also suspect he impeded the initial police investigation. So, no, I feel no sympathy for the man.

      #92 (Dutch visitor)–

I agree with most all of what you say. Had the case been investigated by a competent police department not corrupted by influential friendships, the whole thing would have ended up differently with the Dutch system looking a lot better. Our system has taken a black eye recently with DNA evidence showing innocent people having been convicted. No system is perfect. They have to depend on honest, hard-working people.

    106. Katie in Alabama on February 12th, 2010 11:45 am

I truly believe that God is the overall judge of the events (good and bad)that happen here on Earth. I have always been told by my family, and I am a firm believer, that you “reap what you sow”. In my opinion, Van der Sloot sowed tragedy on Natalee and her family and now it has come back to him ten fold!

Over the past year, I have had the privalege to dine and speak with Ms. Beth, as well as hear her speak about Natalee’s disappearance. In spending time with this fantastic lady, I have gained strength and hope from her. I hold an autographed copy of her book “Loving Natalee” and on the inside cover she wrote, “Katie, Thanks for your prayers and support. Blessings to you. Embrace hope.” With these words, she was encouraging me. Every parent’s worst nightmare has happened to her, but her life long mission now is to protect other people from these types of situations. She has and will always have my upmost RESPECT!

The death of Van der Sloot’s father maybe a tragedy to that family, but I don’t see it as a tragedy. I see it as GOD’S JUSTICE FOR NATALEE. What he couldn’t be convicted of here on Earth, he has now appeared before the RIGHTFUL JUDGE, CONVICTED, AND SENTENCED for his role in the disappearance of Natalee.

I PRAISE GOD for answered prayers and I believe that he has answered the prayer of getting justice for Natalee. While Van der Sloot’s father wasn’t punished here in bodily form for the rest of his life, I feel that some justice has been found for Natalee and her family. That man will spend the rest of eternity in a firey pit and it will never be over! I believe that this sentence of death and eternity in hell is far worse than what he would have ever gotten here! His family will be reunited with him there if they choose to not come forward and tell the truth about Natalee’s disappearance.

In speaking to Ms. Beth, I know that Natalee is with our heavenly father and she can’t be hurt anymore! Ms. Beth is not just Natalee’s hero, but she is my hero because of her ability to embrace hope and not give up. I pray that she and her family will find some comfort in knowing that all of the Van der Sloots will be tried and convicted one day in a courtroom where there are NO PARDONS.

I will continue to pray, support, and hold hope for Natalee’s family.

    107. Susan on February 12th, 2010 12:06 pm

More harm than good comes from Paulass dying. He takes with him so many answers in reference to Natalee’s whereabouts, what really happened to her, whether she is alive right now or dead, etc. He may have eventually came around and made things right, but then again maybe not.

I didn’t like Paulass or his family for what they did to the Holloway and Twitty families, but I will not rejoice over his death. It didn’t affect me one way or another if he lived or died, but karma is a b*tch. You can’t go around treating people like crap and not expect it to come back and bite you on the butt.

    108. Gary on February 12th, 2010 12:24 pm

      The father died “unexpectedly.”

I can attest that sin invites horrible events in our lives.

His son was involved in the death of an innocent young girl. And the father helped the son avoid
      punishment. BOTH acts are sin.

When we sin, God leaves us unprotected. Sometimes, God even “hands us over to satan.” (look it up in the Bible).

Age 57 isn’t that old. Think about it.

Watched Nancy Grace last night..she was covering this story listening to old tapes sure brought a lot of the beginning of this story back.. Karen Janssen saying Paulus told the boys right after Natalee went missing no body, no case. Hiring the 3 all kinds of lawyers in a few days after she is missing, before they are even suspects. No search of the 3 last seen with Natalee for 10 days. No search of the VDS’s for 2 years. Lies the VDS’s told about searching their house, when it was shown later it wasn’t. Waking up 2 security guards in just a few days after Natalee is missing and searching their homesm arresting them for kidnapping and murder of Natalee Holloway. Anita calling a witness over to the house asking them what they told the police. Karen Janssen saying they harmed the investigation. (I say investigation sarcastically)

As soon as I heard Julia was on Greta’s show last night, I turned it. Remember when she was on O’Reilly’s show saying that police had good solid evidence against the 2 security guards. Where did that good solid evidence go to? Why would they believe Joran? He lied right off saying he didn’t know Natalee Holloway.

Remember when Straten went to Paulus’s office to tell him to bring Joran in.. guess he figured the phones were bugged. Joran allowed to call Deepak when being questioned..

One of the things I would love for the police to explain is.. on May 31st Deepak and Satish were being asked by the police if Joran and Natalee got out at the fisherman’s huts, very strange considering the 3 never even used that alibi until after their holiday inn drop off failed over a week later, due to cameras seeing Natalee didn’t return that night.

Not one of these 3 or their families went out to look for Natalee or did one thing to help find her. I remember too someone seeing Paulus sitting in his car by the road just staring.

Rather funny everyone who came forward was a liar, or disappeared, every piece of evidence brought forward disappeared or was fake, or turned out to be chocolate instead of blood, animal bones. Yet Boeti was a credible witness.

Remember JR and others sending the family on wild goose chases and cops sending them to crack houses with money as if Natalee was a crack addict. This is beyond sick.

They threw her away like a piece of kleenex. Thus, the beautiful butterfly died in an ugly spiders’ web. Do you think that people like this believe in anything; or care about anything but themselves? Just listen carefully to them; and see their dismissive expressions and body language; so arrogant, smug, and self assured. They are the corrupt rich used to getting anything they want; and getting away with anything they do. The Kalpies openly stated that they thought NH was not a nice girl; and therefore, they felt justified in disrespecting her; note that I am quoting them very politely. All of them, therefore, feel no guilt about what happened to NH; and no guilt about not confessing. Theirs is a rationalized sociopathy of convenience.

Women need to remember that some macho men in the U.S. and from other cultures do not understand a culture where women are supposedly more liberated; and therefore, may regard modern, free spirited, fun-loving women in bad ways. Less accomplished men are sometimes very jealous of beautiful, independent, gifted, and well- educated women with bright futures. These men judge women by old world standards. Our multicultural world can be a very dangerous place. It is sad but true, that we cannot always trust each other; do not always understand each other; and many people have sinister motives. We must therefore always be on guard. Apart from cultural differences, not everyone thinks and perceives, and feels the same way; and many have evil minds and hearts. Many men see women as possessions and objects they need to control. Therefore, women cannot express themselves freely and trust that they will be respected, appreciated, understood, or safe. Indeed, anyone may be disparaged, disrespected, hated, and even harmed despite; and sometimes just for being a nice person. The world is not the free place it was back in the day: the 60s, 70s, 80s; those were the last carefree days. Women need to keep up the fight for their freedom, safety, and respect. Women deserve the same rights and freedoms as men.

      Hi Steve.

Thanks you for your post. You have a good heart.

Your words regarding forgiveness reflects many in my circle of family and friends but … I have a problem embracing the thought process.

I believe the line was drawn in the sand over 2000 years ago … repentence and forgiveness is a package deal.

      1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

I have no problem affording forgiveness to another who has wronged me … caused me grieve IF there is there is genuine repentence. Without that repentance … I just have to let it go. In time the sting does lessen.

When it comes to Paulus van der Sloot … if Natalee was my niece … there would be no forgiveness without repentance.

      God Bless

That’s probably why they’re shipping that fat sack of alcoholic butt crack back to the Netherlands.

They have a crematory on the island, so if they wanted to throw him in the toaster and be done with him… they could.

To complete a thorough autopsy on Paulus… they need educated people and some technology. Those things will not be found in Aruba.

If they poisoned Paulus using his very own play book of rules… they’ll never find a shred of evidence. No evidence, no crime, Sporter.

    123. A Texas Grandfather on February 12th, 2010 6:01 pm

Yes Merl, your post is right on the money. Every day women are attacked by men who believe they have the right to do it.
As much as we think that our country has made progress in giving women their rights and freedom, it is not there yet.
The important thing is for young women to become totally aware that, at any point in time, they can become the victim of one of these people.
Parents have the burden of trying to allow their young daughters the freedom to reach their full potential and at the same time trying to keep them safe.
I believe in the case of Natalee, she was given a date rape drug by Joran that he purchased from the bartender already in the drink.
Natalee was mostly dependent on her own capacity to understand the situation around her. I think that any group of young people from twelve to twenty-five need to have a sufficient number of real adults present to prevent things from getting “out of hand”. She didn’t have this protection.
Young girls do not process alcohol very well. The Texas Department of safety has conducted tests monitored by doctors for forty years and they have the data to back this up.
The very weekend that Natalee disappeared my wife and I attended the graduation of our oldest daughters son. We stopped on the way, for lunch at Coopers barbeque, at the little town of Junction on I-10. This is a famous barbeque resturant. While we were there three groups of high school seniors arrived to eat lunch. One group had a chaparone for every three students and the other two had one for every six students. Yes, I counted them and talked to the chaparones.
These were all students from small schools.
Natalee did not have such protection, so she was left to protect herself. In addition, they probably did not have a buddy system or if they did it wasn’t working and if it was not working, it was strictly the fault of the chaparones.
For five years I have followed this case. My heart breaks for her family.
Now Paulus is dead and he takes the truth to his grave. Josey Mansuer thinks that it is possible that Aruba will arrest Joran when he arrives for his father’s funeral. I think Josey is dreaming. There are too many people involved in the “Cover Up” for this to happen.
Paulus has to meet GOD as he has lived his life on earth. If in GOD’S judgement he has not lived as he should, then the real angles of death will remove Paulus from the living records of the universe and it will be as if he never was.
Joran is a sociopath, and as such he does not have feelings for anyone but himself and perhaps his father and mother. Sociopaths live a miserable life because they have little or no capacity to love and care for their fellow humans.
Merl remembers the days from the 60s forward, but I remember them from the 30s forward and the respect and safety of women in general had greatly declined by the 60s.
The people of Aruba have been greatly harmed by the actions of this selfish group of their government. I personally have stopped people from booking trips to this miserable little kingdom and some of my Dutch friends have done the same.

    124. Carpe on February 12th, 2010 6:08 pm

I don’t agree with Paulus being dead as a hindrance to the case. Quite the opposite

Of all four suspects, who was the one who never
      opened his mouth?

…and now that mouth has been slammed shut for
      good on the concrete.

Joran’s main man is now where he belongs, eating dirt cookies and feeding the plants!

I hope this wakes Anita up and she gets into a cardio routine soon. Because from the looks of her, she could die tomorrow just trying to wrestle
her undulating gut into her polyester capri stretch pants.

I thought the same thing when I read he died at the age of 57. It is to young to die of heart problems. I have no doubt that it was all related to his involvement in this murder coverup. It didnt end there either, Joran continued to put his parents thru hell with his contstant rebellion for the law.
I can only imagine the great burden of expenses that they have had to dish out for Joran time and time again.
I have followed this case from Day 1 and like everyone else I realy thought that at one point point when Joran was caught on tape that he would be arrested. Paulus intervened for him now I ask who will stand in the gap for him now. He is on his own. He will continue to disrespect authority but mark my words ! there will be a day that he will meet his match no one to hide behind unless he fits behind his moms apron strings.

Sad that not one of these people could have empathy for Natalie or her family. The videos show me that he was never told no, or made to face his consequences. It is hard to feel bad for the loss of this “father”.

To the haters of this site, and you have been out their forever. Actually, many of you were one time members here, but could not act in any civil manner so you were asked to say good bye.

We hardly promote hate here. You might want to actually read the comments of the normal places you post and see some hate and threats. You are allowed an opinion; however, if all you wish to do is cause trouble and be a troll … your comments will be deleted.

It is a sad scenario where people cannot see the obvious who have followed the Natalee Holloway case. It is obvious there was corruption coupled with incompetence in the investigation from day one with officials in Aruba.

One would have to be a fool not to have the opinion that Paulus Van der Sloot did not help in aid in the cover up fo what his son Joran did the night that Natalee Holloway disappeared.

What do you think she just spontaneously combusted? Do you think she just wondered off never to be seen from again?

There was no need for Joran or the Kalpoe’s to lie what they did that night unless that had something to hide. End of story.

The dad had connections on the island and was an atty and judge in training. Of course they were going to help their own. What they never though was that the case would ever become as big as it did.

However, Aruba, officials, LE, politicians, tourism officials & some media types became pot committed to the cover up like a game of Texas Holdem.

Is it the first time that a parent ever helped a kid cover up a crime, no. Will it be the last, no. However, when one does this and it is so obvious, one cannot expect any one to think they have clean hands.

We never, the ownership of this site wish people dead, we wish that they receive justice. Personally, PVDS standing before God and having to answer for his unrepentant sins is more punishment than could have ever been handed out on this earth.

Good luck Paulus, you will need it.

As for JVDS, one day hopefully he will have justice served on him by the courts of Aruba. However, the gutless wonders there will probably never do so without some prompting.

One thing is for certain, Joran will go thru life as a pariah like OJ did. Everyone knows he knows. He has shown that he cannot stay out of trouble. One day he will come across a bigger fish.

Also, one day he will be standing before the Almighty and be provided a one way, unrepentant ticket south.

This didn’t seem to bother the Van de Sloots. Makes you wonder if they are capable of feeling anything. My guess is that they DON’T or they would have given the Halloways the piece of mind to know what happened and where their daughter is.God rest her beautiful soul. Father of Joran van der Sloot deceased
      11 Feb, 2010, 07:46 (GMT -04:00)

ORANJESTAD — Lawyer Paul van der Sloot died of a cardiac arrest yesterday evening at the age of 57. He was playing tennis on the terrain of Tierra del Sol when he suddenly became unwell and collapsed. Ambulance brothers had still tried to resuscitate the lawyer. He was rushed to the hospital, but the attempts were of no avail.

Van der Sloot had become known worldwide as the father of Joran, main suspect in the disappearance case of the American teenager Natalee Holloway. She had disappeared in May 2005. Van der Sloot had always denied that his son had anything to do with her disappearance. At the time, Paul van der Sloot had been a judge in training. He had personally been suspected of obstructing the investigation into the disappearance of Holloway, for which he had been held in custody for a few days. He had then instituted legal proceedings against the government as he found the apprehension was unjust and claimed compensation. He had won the case although that judgment had been reversed on appeal.

The Dutch crime reporter Peter R. de Vries has placed a reaction on his website in connection with the death of Van der Sloot. He states that the death is ‘also a sore loss’ for the Holloway-case. “Mustn’t speak ill of the dead, but I still cannot avoid mentioning that I am convinced that father Van der Sloot had helped his son in covering up his secret.” De Vries also mentioned the house search at the family residence, where the head of the department Supporting Attorney General, Ben King had opened the door – much to the astonishment of the police. King was a friend of the family, which is why the police on Aruba had mistrusted Paul van der Sloot, says the Dutch journalist.

The former minister of Justice, Rudy Croes also contended that the former corps chef Jan van der Straten had been friends with Van der Sloot. The Public Prosecutor (OM) had investigated the role of Van der Straten in the Holloway-case and this investigation was recently finalized.

Field officer of Justice, Peter Blanken did not wish to comment this morning on the consequences of the death of Van der Sloot for the still running disappearance investigation. “The investigation is still in progress, but I find it improper to comment on this now.” Initially he had informed the Amigoe that Paul was still considered a suspect by the OM. Upon further inquiry, it appeared that an annotation in the dossier had been overlooked. “I assume now that the case for Paul had been concluded”, says Blanken.

IMO, Paulass died much too soon!

KvK: few indications of economical recovery
      12 Feb, 2010, 13:03 (GMT -04:00)

ORANJESTAD — The economy still shows few indications of recovery. “The number of new companies that had registered in January is the lowest since 2006. If this tendency continues, 2010 will be the worst year since 2004”, the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) warns.

The number of new companies registered with the Chamber is indicative for the economy. Only 90 companies had registered in January compared to 103 in January 2009. “We conclude that the willingness to establish a new company is still low”, says the KvK. “Apparently, entrepreneurs are waiting for the recovery of the economy of our most important trading partners”.
Moreover, the number of removals from the register is very high. Eighty-nine companies had been removed from the register at the KvK during the first month of this year, which nearly equals the same number of new registrations. According to the KvK, the situation regarding the Valero refinery together with the developments in the tourism sector will largely determine the economical developments on the island.

The Chamber announced that the number of new registrations had also been low last year. Only 1138 new companies had registered in 2009, which is a decrease of 218 companies, or 16 percent. This is even lower than the expectation, which KvK had announced at the end of October last year, when it had been estimated that the number of registrations for 2009 would amount to 1192. The total number of new registered onshore companies had amounted to 1113 last year. That is the lowest number since 1999. Moreover, the number of removals exceeded the number of registrations. The Chamber announced that 1246 companies had shut down last year.

The decline in the number of registrations applies for all legal forms, but the number of new incorporated companies (NV’s) decreased considerably. For instance, 22 percent less NV’s were registered last years compared to 10 percent less one-man businesses. The registration of the legal form Corporation with Limited Liability (vba) was made possible in 2009 for the first time. Nine vba’s had been registered during the third and fourth quarter of last year. According to the Chamber, more companies are gradually realizing the advantages of a vba compared to an NV.

The number of companies in the offshore industry had decreased considerably last year. Even though the number of new registrations had increased substantially (25 in 2009 compared to 4 in 2008), the number of removals had also increased considerably. No less than 233 companies had been removed from the KvK-registration last year. Of the 25 new offshore companies that had registered in 2009, there had been 24 with the legal form Aruban Open Corporation (avv). Therefore, the Chamber concludes that the legal form vba is absolutely of no interest to the offshore industry yet. In order to diversify the economy, the KvK advises to introduce tax incentives to encourage the offshore industry. “We are not attractive enough compared with competitors in the region and other parts of the world.”

HOW’S THAT ECONOMY, ARUBA??? Worst since 2004???

I remember that many posters in the past (most are gone now) felt like Paulus was perhaps the main perp. in this case.

I’ve always felt like it was Joran and his pack of blood sucking vampires.

But that being said, the surveillance taps of Paulus at the table with Natalee only hours before her disappearance does make me re-evaluate the role of Paulus in this case.

Was he the cover-up man? For sure, yes. Was he more involved than is obvious? In my opinion, it seems to point that way.

I’d like to hear Viet Vets opinion.

I wonder if Joran should bury his father on the golf course, under hole #15. Sounds good to me.

    148. Mike Falconi on February 14th, 2010 12:51 pm

I am an American living in Aruba. I can assure you Aruban officials are not corrupt. I do agree they are quite inexperienced, but this is only logical since average murder statistics in Aruba are only 0.7 per 100.000 persons per year, compared to a whopping 5.6 per 100.000 in USA. Which means you are 8 times more likely to be murdered in USA than in Aruba. Also the amount of missing persons in USA is 2500 per day while in Aruba it’s only 14 per YEAR (That’s 15 times less than in USA per 100.000 persons). And I must admit I feel way more safe here than I have ever felt in the USA.
Now, if you are so sure that Joran vdS. is guilty, then why do you feel the need to censor anyone who arguments differently, seems like we can associate you with communists (this is what communists do). Are you aware that Beth Twitty has received over $10 million in donations? (It has been reported even over $50 million for all the funds combined), this is not even including the book she wrote, the lifetime movie, the bracelets sales and her FOR-A-BIG-FEE speeches that she is doing around the country. All amounting to atleast $100 million. She has purposefully made herself rich and famous because of her daughter. If you think about it, this makes Beth Twitty the only person with a motive to murder Nathalee (Joran didn’t have one, since he could get girls way prettier than Nathalee so no need to waste expensive rape-drugs). Another thing I can’t understand is how you could be criticizing Aruba if they have spent $3 million (40% of the Police Department budget) and have even donated 3 F-16 jets to search for just one girl.. there is no other government in the world that would do this, not even your own government would have spent this much to find one girl. Also in the beginning when I used to have sympathy for Beth I was part of a huge group of an estimated 1700 Arubans who have searched Parke Arikok a whole day long, all this just for one girl and guess what, Beth Twitty didn’t even show up to help search for her own daughter. There were many more searches like this where Aruban police, military and civilians were involved. I do agree with you though that Joran is indeed an idiot but he’s just like so many other guys of his age who go out and bring girls home every week after a party and basically just want to have fun. Now I’m sorry for not being very patriotic of my country but it’s because of people like you that I am ashamed of being an American.
SM Spare me your dithering comments. I was an American who lived and worked in Aruba and saw the corruption first hand.

Nice rehash of the BS attempts to make it looked like they cared. Sorry, I was there for the searches and saw first hand what was done.

Sorry if you are ashamed of being an American for we real Americans actually want answers to missing person cases. We don’t become like the place we live and allow corruption to over-run our lives.

Sorry, even the Dutch said that the investigation was corrupt.

They knew who did this crime, like it is all that different than the 1000′s of crimes that occur. The difference is that Aruba never wanted to find the truth.

Mike, I managed to read down to “purposefully made herself rich and famous”!!!!!!Get a grip!!! Grow up!!! All Beth and Dave wanted was JUSTICE!! and to be denied that by the very people we turn to in our hour of need IE people in power!!! IS a blight on Aruba, sadly!!!

    154. Mike Falconi on February 14th, 2010 1:50 pm

For this exact reason I have made it easy for you.
I took the statistics, and I calculated them over 100.000 persons. Which means the numbers I’ve given are X per 100.000, as to, in America there are around 16.800 murders per year which is 5.6 per 100.000 , and since Aruba has a population of about 100.000 these numbers have perfect significance if you are decently educated in mathematics. Aruba only has a murder rate of 0.7 per 100.000 per year.
Also I do not believe you were in Aruba, it seems impossible to me that you would have missed this huge search of over 1700 people.
I have read recently an article from Dayo Gould who claims to have found evidence that Beth Twitty is paying bloggers, like yourself, to censor any and all information coming in pointing that Beth Twitty could be the guilty one, and also promote hate, crime, violence, death wishes towards Aruba. Is this why you are censoring all the information coming in?
SM: What you are committing is slander, which is a crime. Censoring for $’s, are you an A$$H_LE?

Do you even know what the word censorship means?

Censorship is what the Aruba govt & tourism has done when it comes to providing the truth of what happens negative against an island that counts on tourism.

Please take your meds and get some therapy. Beth is guilty of what? Trying to get to the truth of what happened to her daughter? You are truly derangement. Seriously dude, get some help.

Maybe Dayo Gould needs to be sued for libel and slander as well. Would be pretty hard to have evidence that blogs like SM were paid when they have never received a dime. So, this would be a bold faced lie.

Gould is an Aruba apologist. BTW, Aruba the truth web site was created by the Aruban tourism board to promote misinformation and take on sites like SM because we were handing them their lunch.

Newsflash, just like with the 100′s of missing person and crime stories that SM has covered and has been a victims rights advocate, we don’t need to be paid money by families to go after scum.

I guess SM was getting paid too when we went after this piece of garbage who murdered her son. I am glad to say we got under the mother’s skin so badly that she screwed up which helped contribute to her demise.

Yea, we made a fortune off that case too fool. Here is a newsflash to those without souls. People don’t need to be paid to do what they know is right and just. That is why this site is about a multitude of things.

Liz Carroll, Mother of 3 year old Murdered Ohio Foster Child Marcus Fiesel Found Guity

Scared Monkeys: Missing & Exploited was later contacted by Rick McCrabb of the Ohio newspaper, The Middletown Journal, for comments and our coverage of this case.

Newspapers and television stations in southwest Ohio have followed every step in the case, and now that his foster parents have been charged, the story has grabbed the attention of media outlets throughout the United States.

There are Web sites that feature photo albums, message boards, chat rooms and slide and video shows. One of those is, dedicated to exploited and missing children. “Red,” one of the site’s co-founders, said after news of Marcus’ disappearance was linked to his Web site, he received an e-mail from Marcus’ foster mother. She chastised the site for their portrayal.

“As soon as she did that, well, it was like, she’s guilty,” Red said Friday from his office. “You knew this was going to end bad. The radar just went up. It raises the hair on the back of your neck. When you kill your son, and go public pleading for help, it brings it to a special level of hell.”

He said Marcus’ story has drawn widespread coverage because people are so “disgusted by it.” (Middletown Journal)

I am with you ! had one of mty kids done the same I would have definetely made them take responsibility for their crimes. It reminds of of the enabling and lying done by cindy anthony regarding her daughter casey. These kind of parents do their kids more harm than good.

I am extremely curious to know if:
Did anita see the article appeared in the Amigoe
naming her husband as still as suspect. I wonder whats going thru her head as she grieves the death of her husband. I would think that she did some reflecting on natalees death. The man was too young to die I think he carried the weight of his sons crimes and the enormous expenses he was left to pay for. Oh my god, this website is full of hate and full of lies !!! Scared monkeys is trying to support Beth Twitty who has made MILLIONS off her daughter’s death, and you still think she is innocent?? It’s could only be Beth who has arranged for her daughter to be murdered, she is the only one with a motive!! I just looked at Mike’s posts and checked if all the facts he stated were true… and THEY ARE ALL TRUE!!! I also believe that Scared Monkeys is getting paid to promote so much violence here. Why else are they so stubborn in this case? Why are they not researching any other possibilities for what happened to Natalee? If this website really cared about where Natalee is why don’t they research all other leads? Also they have met with Beth family, which means they probably were paid CASH to do this dirty work, as Scared Monkeys said, it would be impossible to proof that they are getting paid to do this!!!!
SM: I have allowed the above hate-filled lies from this crazoid commenter to show just what really still is out there of delusional, rotten and hate mongering against a family who has lost a daughter.

Let me say this with 100% certitude and if you ever make such another unfounded accusation and libelous lie, you might just find yourself in a world of legal hurt. SM has NEVER, and I repeat NEVER received a dime from any Holloway/Twitty family member to search or write about the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. I wonder if the same could be said about other that have spread Aruba disinformation?

Some of you people really do need to see a therapist. Have you read what you wrote? You would dare accuse others of hate? Are you insane?

SM has covered so many missing person cases and as in all the others, we provide our services and coverage of the stories because we want to, not because we have been paid. This is an independent family/advocate site. Sorry if we think that criminals are evil, guilty people.

We have met with Beth, therefore we have been paid? Crazy talk. We have met with many families, searchers, law enforcement, etc … does that mean that we were paid by them as well? How do we know you are not being paid? Hmm? What is your motivation to spread evil lies abut people and things you do not even know.

You Van der Sloot apologists act like this story is so different than so many other missing persons/murder cases. It is not. The difference is in the way the search was conducted and the lack of conviction to find a real killer.

How sad is it that people like above actually walk around all day with such hate and malice in their heart.

In many respects i do not know whether to be angry or feel sorry for you.

If you really cared about Nathalee Holloway, you would try to research all possibilities what might have had happened to Nathalee. Why did the Holloway family obstruct the police in doing their job? Why did the Holloways constantly give crucial sensitive information that could have lead to an arrest to the press? Why didn’t the Holloway family help with any of the searches? Why are the so-called “rewards” not linked to any of their “donation funds, in other words this money is for the Holloways to use freely on houses, cars etc. ? Where did all the money go that people like me donated to the Holloways, I didn’t pay for donate for them to be playing golf now.
SM: Did you actually follow this case, because you know less than nothing.

Why didn’t the Holloway family help with any of the searches?

Ah, dude … I searched an Aruban landfill digging side by side with Dave Holloway. I searched beaches and brush with Paul Reynolds, etc. What are you talking about? Beth, Dave, Jug went door to door in Aruba searching for Natalee and handed out fliers and posters of missing Natalee.

You really have zero credibility and a total waste of time.

Van der Sloot Confession in Holloway’s Murder

      Posted: Feb 23, 2010 12:20 AM CST

      Updated: Feb 23, 2010 12:41 AM CST

AMSTERDAM (BNO NEWS) — Dutch suspect Joran van der Sloot has confessed to disposing the body of missing American student Natalee Holloway while on the Caribbean island of Aruba, a Dutch newspaper reported on Tuesday. He made the statements in front of an RTL television camera.

The statements by van der Sloot follow a similar confession more than two years ago during an undercover operation by Dutch crime reporter Peter R. de Vries, which prosecutors said did not constitute new legal evidence.

‘De Telegraaf’ newspaper reported that – in the new confession – Van der Sloot said he is still scared of being prosecuted and admitted to disposing Holloway’s body in a marsh on Aruba. The report said the chief prosecutor on Aruba confirmed the story, but said Van der Sloot could be attempting to give multiple false versions to hide the truth.

Chief prosecutor Peter Blanken told ‘De Telegraaf’ that the confession resulted in a new investigation into the disappearance of Holloway, but eventually concluded without results. “It became clear that this statement is hold together by lies and fantasy,” Blanken said. “Times are wrong and named witnesses have denied.”

Blanken also said that, if Holloway’s body was disposed in the marsh, it would probably never be recovered. “If she was left there, the chances of finding her are extremely small,” Blanken said. “After several days, nothing would have been found except bones and maybe a plastic shoe.”

Natalee Holloway went missing on May 30, 2005 during a high school graduation trip to Aruba. The case received international media attention, but her body was never found.

The prosecutor’s office on Aruba, which reportedly confirmed Tuesday’s report, did not immediately respond to inquiries left by BNO News as its offices were closed.

To Carolyn: You are wise, for none of us have the right to sit in judgement on others. I do hope Paulus had made his peace with God before he died. I believe he did assist Joran in disposing of Natalee, and I feel certain he paid off the police not to charge Joran, which was terrible. He let the Holloways suffer when he could have helped but stuck by his rotten son. However, God forgives, and I don’t wish him to be in Hell.

    206. Angie on March 1st, 2010 9:38 am

I say it is all a matter of time.

Joran doesn’t have anybody left in this world that he can relate to about this experience. If the other 2 boys did help him, chances are they no longer communicate with Joran, because stuff like this tears any relationship apart. Unless he sincerely confided in someone (which isn’t the same as having someone to relate it to first hand) he will have to battle his inner most guilt to keep the truth suppressed.

So far it looks like it is beginning to take its toll. It’s only a matter of time before this guy either cracks and wants to come forward to the police and show/tell everything that really happened… or he will just drive himself crazy, or just commit suicide.

Either way, something will eventually give with this guy. He has all of that information and now, nothing to do with it.

Yep. Joran tried to carry that fat lying sack
of rotten meat all over the island to find
a place to bury him… but he got tired &
      went to the casino instead.

      Nobody wanted him.

I never heard of this story until I watched it tonight! I did some research on the net and discovered that this man is continuingwith his life and everyone one here have continue greiving. Here in Texas, if you would have said anything as far as touching her….. you would have had life in prison off the muscle! TEXAS don’t play that mess! But you know what, go one with your life cause you have to answer to someone later who saw the whole thing! Keep on believeing that there is no God! He keeps you alive to see that family’s pain and you will feel the wrath of God when it’s time. And to Beth, I can’t ever understand the pain you feel. I never want to know the pain of losing a child that you loved and sacrifice for. You continue to search but always let God lead you to the answers you need. Remember, in Genesis when Abraham had to sacrifice his son for God…. Natty was yours. Closure is through God, no matter how hard it is. BUT JUSTICE IS TOO! Let GOD lead YOU!! Good Luck and GOD BLESS YOU AND YOU FAMILY!!!

There will only be justice on judgement Day when we all will be tried and convicted of our sins.It was a terrible tragedy what the Holloway family has had to go through. However most people would do anything (that includes lying or covering up something) to protect our children. We can only guess the state of mind that this man has had up until the point of his death.I

      No, most would not.

The ones that do deserve the treatment that Joran Van der sloot and the gang-raping murdering Kalpoe
family of Aruba got. It really is quite simple.
Even Nadira Ramirez could figure it out if given
      enough time!

Decent people of good character encourage their children to take responsibility for their actions. I think that is the most important lesson.

I find the murder of these two women to be a very sad situation on all fronts. How sad that a judge and an attorney’s son, Joran van der Sloot, goes so far off the basic human behavior grid.

It is my opinion that children from professional families and moneyed circumstances are always given the benefit of the doubt by official personnel as was the case in Aruba where without a body a circumstancial case would not have stuck. So, no charges were brought in the Aruba matter.

That led to the current case where it would not surprise me if the officials used invasive coersive techniques to obtain the confession perhaps prompted by knowledge of this suspect’s legal history and the impact of pressure to protect the public from this man’s further barbaric responses.

My regrets to the families especially of the dead young women.

The kiddnapping of Natalee Holloway is going to bring alot of pressure to this family. I think this family should all be arrested and held until the remains of Natalee comes up. All Beth and her family wants to do is be a peace and know where there daughter body is or if she is alive and sold into prosituition, let them know where their daughter are. God have mercy on your souls.

Who was the father playing tennis with.

I am an armchair psychic and was tuned in to this at the time. I felt Joran had help from his father and another well connected man from the area.

A name came to me and from memory I think it started with a R like Richard or Robert.
I very clearly saw a man in a vision. He was a white male, shorter and stockier than Joran’s father.
I would place him in his 50′s and may be about 60 now. He had light brown/sandy blond hair. Hair was layered above the shoulders and had a bit of a curl to it but not curly. He wore a Tommy Bahama type red flowered shirt and shorts. He would be quite a ladies man for his age. I feel he was single and probably still is. Connected to the stuff going on with the city things and probably a golfer.

I sensed he felt bad because he had a daughter similarly aged to Natalee or for some reason Natalee reminded him of his daughter.
I felt he owned a boat.
I feel her body was/is straight SOUTH from the fisherman’s huts.

Lastly I saw Natalee in a light filled building with no windows. I think it could have been a gazebo. I saw her there in morning light and wonder if her mom ate breakfast outside near a gazebo. I feel her mom has moved now but this is where Natalee visited her at the time.

Joran you and your father lied/and then Aruba tried to blame everyone who was not Dutch or of Arubian blood. Visited this lovely island many years ago but will never go back or encourage loved ones or friends to go there. With a bad economy guess Aruba will pay over and over/even the Netherlands hopefully. Joran may you spend 30 or more years in Peru/and then be held accountable for the US prosecution pending. May you never have a life like the two people you killed.

Well just stayed up all night studying this case. Been to Aruba before the murder happened. No damn well an Arabian would not frequent local beaches at night when they have private home. They went there C&C to lure her in and took her to the residence where old Dad got involved as pre-planned. Mom out of town and even Joran stated none of this would have happened had Mom been home. Dirty old man set this all up earlier that day at the Casino Holiday Inn. They found out where she was going for the evening and Dad said go get her. You can see from the casino picture how interested Dad was in her youth, beauty and good looks. Every photo I saw of him at the blackjack table surveillance camera was him starring at Natalee like an old wolf about to pounce on a purely innocent lamb. It would seem this was how old Dad spent the weekends with his son gambling and hunting young naive tourist girls This was not their first rodeo. They have done this before. Perverse Judge believe since he is the law, he can get away with anything. Although I think murder may have been a little more than they expected. She must have come to and put up a fight or something – started screaming? There you go. Lastly I think the body was disposed of by the best friend’s Koen Gottenbo’s boat that was already in the water at the dock. I believe there was evidence of Joran on the boat from early on that morning with Koen. I believe the Fish House stolen fish cage and knife may have been used in this heinous crime. God Bless the Innocent What a tragic evil deed! Owe lastly – I think that Deepak went back to Joran’s house after they dropped off Satish who wasn’t interested in being involved in the rape, all the while Natalee was passed out in the back seat. Yuck – I feel dirty of even somehow knowing the elements of the event. It just seems like I can easily put the pieces together in my head! I’m not evil;however, I somehow know how evil thinks! This is such a perverted way to spend quality time with your son. No wonder that Joran is so F@@Ked up. I don’t mean to give him a break, but his Dad is a MONSTER!

    241. Oh, please on January 29th, 2015 2:07 am

#43, Sorry to burst your bubble, but Beth has an undisputable alibi for her location between learning of Natalee’s disappearance and arriving on the island. Beth had been out of town when she received the call that Natalee had missed her flight on a “girl’s weekend” with some of her friends. Upon receiving the call, Beth immediately jumped in their vehicle and was driving so fast that when a cop attempted to pull her over, she kept going. She called “911″ and explained to the dispatcher why she wouldn’t pull over. (Documented alibi #1) When she finally did pull over, she got out of the car to explain the situation to the officer, he already had his gun drawn. (Documented alibi #2) So, if you want to believe a bunch of filmmakers that are always hungry for juicy stories, over two unbiased officers of the law and dozens of eyewitnesses, then no one will ever convince you. I give up.

It has been over ten years already that Natalie Holloway disappeared on Aruba.
In my opinion there are a vast group of young people who know how Natalie died: some are: JORAN,
Keon, Michael, Sanders, Jaime, Geoff, Stefenee Cortes et al.
In my opinion the only two people who know what happened to her body are:
Rene Michel van Heyningen and Paulus van der Sloot.
      Unfortunately they are both dead.

      To bobby at comment #240

You are spot on with your conclusions about Paulus & his father/underage age son casino time. When I saw the video of Paul sitting next to Natalee & talking with her I knew in an instant he was more involved than just disposing of Natalee’s body & the cover up. It also explained why Aruba officials refused to do the right thing & prosecute all involved. Aruba could’ve survived Joran & Kalpukes crime & even Paul’s participation after the fact But Aruba could Never live down a judge even in training being one of main suspects & I believe the mastermind of this crime against Natalee & more before her. I resent J Mansur too for never exposing Paulus in the company of Natalee & Joran at that casino before her disappearance. Don’t tell me no one in Aruba didn’t recognize Paul sitting right next to her & acting more interested in her than Joran in the video/stills I saw. In my opinion Natalee didn’t aspirate on anything, she woke up & knew she was being raped & Paul feared a rape kit would lead right back to him & his son with casino footage to back it up & her death was 1st degree murder to avoid that from coming out.

      Burn in hell Paulus.
