We would like to thank all of our past and present readers and commenters on both the Front page and in our Forums. Thank you for being a part of Scared Monkeys. Thank you for taking the time to make a difference. Don’t ever think that your voice cannot be heard.

Scared Monkeys has always been about providing an array of news, politics, current event stories, crime, missing persons, humor, Vanderbilt’s artwork and editorials so that you the reader can become informed and participate and be interactive in the process. 20,000,000 visits later and nearly 60,000,000 page views. Many first became associated with SM during the Natalee Holloway case. Many others have become readers and members since.

A long the way having MSM producers, state, local and federal LE reading through the numerous posts and comments. Scared Monkeys has always treasured it’s relationship with Texas Equusearch and the selfless volunteer work they do for families of of missing. Scared Monkeys has been featured on TV, radio and print.  SM  has provided back ground info to MSM and made special guest appearance on Court TV going up against the bad guys. SM has also been a part of many missing person and crime cases behind the scenes and even found it’s way into the exhibits for the defense in the Kalpoe’s v. Dr Phil case.

Scared Monkeys was always meant to be a community where one could go for a multitude of stories. The main focus is obviously crime, missing persons and politics. However, SM has also been a place to have fun as well. I learned a long tome ago if you cannot laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at. However, there is also a serious side to what SM does. We have not just written about crime and missing persons cases, we have participated in them as well. SM was one of the first to put their volunteerism where their keyboard was an participate in searches for the missing. I will never forget the day that Tim Miller asked whether I wanted to help search for Natalee Holloway. It was not about covering a story, it was about helping find a missing girl. We thank the many Monkeys who have taken the time and given  of them self for other in helping in missing person searches as well.

A long the road we have been fortunate enough to bring on Dana Pretzer of The Dana Pretzer Show and the multitude of amazing guests and pundits that have taken part in his weekly show. Ask yourself, what guest that you see on TV who has not been a special guest on Dana’s show? With guests like Wendy Murphy, Clint Van Zandt, Tim Miller, Pat Brown, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Stacy Dittrich, Diane Dimond, Mark Williams, Cyril Wecht and Robin Sax just to name a few.

Most recently we have added Blink and Blink on Crime to the Scared Monkeys stable.All one has to do is read the crime posts and instantly understand the tremendous work and dedication that she and her team do on crime stories. BOC is a site unto itself that has taken off due to the great writing and sleuthing by Blink and her investigative team. For exclusive, original content there is no where else to go. BOC has instantly become one of the best new crime blogs on the Internet today.

Lastly, I would be remiss not to thank you, the readers. You make it possible. Although we never expect everyone to agree all the time we are appreciative that it is most respectful.  A thanks also goes out to our Forum moderators, San, CBB, Nut44×4, 2NJson, Bearlyhere and Muffybee.  A special thanks goes to Klaas. Anyone who reads or has spent time on Scared Monkeys knows the hard work that Klaas provided. Thanks!

Philadelphia ACORN Busted … So They Didn’t Say they were a Prostitute and Were Thrown Out Eh?

PIMPS & PROSTITUTES MEET THE PHILLY ACORN OFFICE

When there is a choice in the truth between ACORN and the team of Andrew Breitbart, Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe, you would be nuts to choose the nut. Hey ACORN, quit while you are way behind. Please.

So ACORN states that Hannah Giles and James O’Keefe …. were thrown out of the ACORN office, never mentioned prostitution and the meeting only lasted minutes, eh? The video plainly shows that the meeting that occurred at the Philly ACORN office happened just the way Giles, O’Keefe and Breitbart had stated. Giles and O’Keefe use the same script in Philly that they did in Baltimore, Washington, DC, San Diego, NYC and the rest of the “pimps & prostitute” stings they did in trying to traffic under age girls from South American into the United States as sex slaves.

ACORN LIARS!!!

It would appear that the media outlets that reported and defended ACORN with their lies has a bit of a journalistic integrity issue. But not Fox News, they have reported the truth about ACORN from the outset. Yet, President Obama does not think they are a news organization. How does the MSM feel that they have egg on their face as NewsBusters states, repeating the lies of ACORN?

For a month, it has supposedly been the settled truth that a similar attempt by O’Keefe and Giles in Philadelphia had failed miserably, and that the pair were “thrown out” of ACORN’s office there. ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis said so on CNN. The Philadelphia Daily News’s David Gombacorta reported that “they were apparently shown the door.” Others playing or parroting ACORN’s assertions included the Philadelphia Enquirer, the Washington Post, NPR, and the New York Times.

WHERE IS TORT REFORM NOW?

If Obama and Democrats are truly serious about health care reform, why are they waiting until 2013 to implement it? Conveniently enough that is after the 2012 elections. Why are we waiting until 2013 to reduce the cost to our deficits when there are measures now like tort reform that could begin reducing the costs now! But there is nothing political about Obamacare, right?

Does anyone really believe that Obama and the Democrats are going to stand up to the special interest groups and Trial Lawyers on tort reform? Are they going to bite the hand that has and continues to feed them? Hardly.

As the Astute Blogger astutely states, the only thing crazier than giving Obama the Nobel Peace Prize, is to pass Obamacare. Why are we waiting for 2013 when tort reform and going after waste and fraud in Medicare & Medicaid could occur tomorrow? Is it any wonder why no one trusts Obama or Democrats on healthcare? They state that this is needed immediately, yet they will not implement these changes until 4 years later. The sky is hardly falling.

Under the Democratic bills, federal tax credits to help make health insurance affordable for millions of low- and middle-income households won’t start flowing until 2013 — after the next presidential election. But Medicare cuts and a sizable chunk of the tax increases to pay for the overhaul kick in immediately.

As pointed out by Hot Air with regards to the Baucus healthcare non-existent bill  the CBO stated that TORT REFORM would reduce the deficit by $54 billion over the next 10 years.

Andrew Breitbart is promising yet another “blockbuster” scandal. Speculation is abound as to who will show up on the next video tape. Numerous names are being discussed at Hot Air.

Everything you needed to know about the unorthodox roll out of the now-notorious ACORN sting videos was hidden in plain sight in my Sept. 7 column, “Katie Couric, Look in the Mirror.” ACORN was not the only target of those videos; so were Katie, Brian, Charlie and every other mainstream media pooh-bah.

They were not going to report this blockbuster unless they were forced to. And they were. What’s more, it ain’t over yet. Not every hint I dropped in that piece about what was to come has played itself out yet.Stay tuned.

The Nut has Been Cracked: Senate Votes to Cut Off Federal Funding for ACORN

ACORN’s excellent adventure, this is going to leave a mark.

What a difference a week makes as a community of corruption is exposed.

The US Senate has voted to defund ACORN housing as The Johanns Amendment # 2355 to H.R. 3288 passed by a margin of 83 to 7. As stated at Michelle Malkin, “Johanns cited the BigGovernment.com sting videos as evidence that ACORN cannot be trusted with government money.”

Senator Mike Johanns (R-NE) introduced an amendment to the HUD and Transportation appropriation bill to strip ACORN of all federal funding. As stated by Hot Air, a week ago this amendment wouldn’t have gotten the amendment to the floor. However, that was before BigGovernment.com released not one, not two, but three video exposing ACORN and their child prostitution supporting ways. Andrew Breitbart has also promised more.

Here are the seven Senators that are against an amendment that would punish an organization that is pro-child prostitution, whoring and pimping. NICE!

In typical fashion the liberal MSM as down played the numbers of actual protesters that descended upon Washington, DC for the 9/12 Washington, DC Tea Party. ABC News is claiming that they never said that there were million, they are stating that there were 60 to 70 thousand. CBS News is reporting a vague tens of thousands. As pointed out by Stop the ACLU, CNN’s report has no number of protesters what so ever. The Washington Post reports tens of thousands as well. Folks, they shut DC down. What does that tell you as to how many people showed?

Sadly the liberal MSM would have you believe that the 9/12 Tax Payer protesters that showed in DC was some how comparable to an Obama rally in MN where The One ran off to instead of facing the music. Would it really kill the MSM to accurately report the dissent against the President that they carry the water for … Yes it obviously would.

However the Daily Mail is quoting 2 million.

Up to two million people marched to the U.S. Capitol today, carrying signs with slogans such as “Obamacare makes me sick” as they protested the president’s health care plan and what they say is out-of-control spending.

The line of protesters spread across Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the Washington Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.

Hot Air asks how big was the crowd with time lapse video. One thing is for certain, the crowd took DC authorities by surprise as the “freedom fighters” descending upon DC caused complete gridlock.

However big it was, it was bigger than expected. From the NYT: “Many came on their own and were not part of an organization or group. But the magnitude of the rally took the authorities by surprise, with throngs of people streaming from the White House to Capitol Hill for more than three hours.”

Who’s Going to Count the Pimps and Ho’s … US Census Bureau Dumps ACORN

Yes Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.

Yesterday the US Census Bureau sent a letter to the National Headquarters of ACORN notifying the group that the Census Bureau is severing all ties with ACORN.

The question remains, who is now going to count all the pimps and ho’s in the upcoming census in 2010? One thing is for certain, ACORN should have been given their walking papers long before the two “pimps & prostitutes” videos emerged.

The letter stated the following: (pdf of full letter here)

“Over the last several months, through ongoing communication with our regional offices, it is clear that ACORN’s affiliation with the 2010 Census promotion has caused sufficient concern in the general public, has indeed become a distraction from our mission, and may even become a discouragement to public cooperation, negatively impacting 2010 Census efforts,” read a letter from Census Director Robert M. Groves to the president of ACORN.

“Unfortunately, we no longer have confidence that our national partnership agreement is being effectively managed through your many local offices. For the reasons stated, we therefore have decided to terminate the partnership,” the letter said.

The ACORN nut has been cracked. As Michelle Malkin states, it’s time to stop funding this corrupt organization with tax payer dollars.
