Things that Make You Go Hmmm … Barack Obama’s Bio Edited Numerous Times over 17 Years, but Kenyan Birthplace Changed Weeks after his Presidential Announcement

Why would the bio of Barack Obama provided to his literary agent be changed numerous times over the years to update events and accomplishments of Obama, yet his birth place of Kenya was not changed until just after he announced his run for the Presidency in 2007? Seriously, one does not have to be a “birther” to ask such a question. This story of why Obama’s bio would read “born in Kenya” was initially brought to the public’s attention at Breitbart.com in their own going effort to do what the MSM refuses to do … Vetting the President. As stated at the PJ Tatler, when the bizarre and embarassing fact was uncovered earlier this week, agent Miriam Goderich backpedaled and stated that the Kenyan birth claim was simply a “fact-checking error.” OK, so then why did it go through a myriad of edits and updates with no change until right before Obama’s Presidential announcement?

The biography provided by Barack Obama to his literary agent specified his birthplace as “Kenya”. And, over the course of 17 years, despite multiple revisions by Obama, the Kenyan birthplace remained a fundamental part of the bio on the agent’s website.

I’ve used the Wayback Archive to explore the exact transformations of Obama’s biography on his agent’s site (click on any of the thumbnails to zoom to a readable size).

On June 27, 1998, the website read: “BARACK OBAMA was the first black president of the Harvard Law Review. He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, and was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago. His first book is DREAMS FROM MY FATHER: A STORY OF RACE AND INHERITANCE.”

The Bio was updated circa December 2004; however, it still stated the following; “He was also the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister, and was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago”.

Then as Doug Ross notes a remarkable edit was made to the Obama bio between April 3rd and April 21st 2007, where someone must have noticed the discrepancy in birthplace that would presumably disqualify the Senator from office.

On April 21, 2007, the website read: “BARACK OBAMA is the junior Democratic senator from Illinois and was the dynamic keynote speaker at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. He was also the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. He was born in Hawaii to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister and was raised in Indonesia, Hawaii, and Chicago. His first book, DREAMS FROM MY FATHER: A STORY OF RACE AND INHERITANCE, has been a long time New York Times bestseller.”

The question at hand is why lie? The Other McCain has an interesting theory that being born in Hawaii was not edgy enough to give him racial street cred. Let me just say that I am not a “birther” and actually do believe that Obama was born in Hawaii, but I also am a little taken aback by his continual lack of transparency and the fact that it appears his past is a made up fiction. We does the most transparent President ever not hand over his college transcripts and application. I am betting that it say origin of birth, Kenya.

This is all very important and not because Obama was born in Kenya but more to the point that Obama will lie and say anything for his advantage. This is hardly “Hope & Change” … it is the mark of an opportunist.

More to the point, who in the hell vets Presidential candidates? What is the process, do we just ask them whether they were born in the USA and if they say yes, that is goo enough? How could those vetting not have found something so simple? Of course we will learn long after Obama is out of office that those in the MSM knew about this all along and hushed it up.

Terri Schiavo …. Forever Rest in Peace, Terri Schiavo Passes Away March 31, 2005

Today is the anniversary of the death of Theresa Marie Schiavo. Terri Schiavo masses away on March 31, 2005 in a Florida hospice after her 14 day battle against starvation and dehydration after being taken off her feeding tube. God continue to rest her soul and have mercy on all of us.

For those who were not with Scared Monkeys from the outset, the Terri Schiavo life and death tug-o-war was the story that put Scared Monkeys on the blogging map. I know many think it was the disappearance of Natalee Holloway; however, that was not the case. Before Scared Monkeys wanted “Justice for Natalee”, we fought to help keep Terri alive and covered the events that sadly eventually led to Terri Schiavo’s passing. We believed as did President George W. Bush commented in his statement that, “where there are serious questions and substantial doubts, our society, our laws, and our courts should have a presumption in favor of life”.

The case of Terri Schiavo raises complex issues. Yet in instances like this one, where there are serious questions and substantial doubts, our society, our laws, and our courts should have a presumption in favor of life. Those who live at the mercy of others deserve our special care and concern. It should be our goal as a nation to build a culture of life, where all Americans are valued, welcomed, and protected – and that culture of life must extend to individuals with disabilities.

Sadly we posted, ‘STRIKE 3, 11th Circuit Court Rejects Schiavo Appeal’  … “It looks like the last flicker of a hope has gone” that was picked up by CNN and broadcast on the TV program, Inside the Blogs. As stated at Blogs for Terri on the 6 year anniversary of Terri’s passing … despite the intervention from Florida Legislature, Gov. Jeb Bush, Congress and President George W. Bush, the courts picked death over life.

Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court Judge George Greer’s latest death order concluded an 11-year tug of war over Schiavo’s life waged by divided family members, and came despite the unprecedented intervention of first the Florida Legislature and Gov. Jeb Bush, and then Congress and President George W. Bush.

Hardly a day goes by that I do not think about a US Court decision that chose the death of a US citizen over life. It is a haunting and uneasy feeling that such a decision was made without any consent or feedback from the victim of the decision. Long before there was Obamacare, there was this precursor of making decisions on death. All I can say is  Terri, God Bless your soul!!! Rest in Eternal Peace.

Companies Ask for Potential Employees To Hand Over Their Pass Words to Facebook Accounts … Senators Ask Feds to Investigate

Employers cross the line of personal privacy by asking job applicants for Facebook passwords.

Finally an issue that the RIGHT, LEFT and MIDDLE can all agree on with the ACLU. Your password to your FACEBOOK or anything else that is yours personally is none of your bosses business.  What party about invasion of privacy do these companies not understand? How about the fact that your very request goes against Facebook’s TOS, terms of service, of sharing passwords.

Good grief, why don’t they just ask for your email and cell phone password as well? While you are at it, ask for their teen diary. What’s next, your bank account, utility and Internet account passwords?  Being required to “friend” the business would be bad enough, especially since many have their security settings so that only family and friends can see what is on their page, but a password? Who finds this completely hypocritical seeing that every company has COMPLIANCE departments that set policies and procedures, one of them that it is an immediate “termination” offense to share passwords?

Andrew Breitbart Passes Away at Age 43 … Death of a Conservative Hero and Patriot … RIP

DEATH OF AN AMERICAN HERO …

Sad news to report … Andrew Breitbart has passed away at the age of 43.  We have lost one of the most courageous, pit bull, Conservative heroes and voices.  As I drove to work I heard the news flash that Conservative activist, blogger and free speech hero Andrew Breitbart had unexpectedly passed away at the age of 43. According to accounts he collapsed while walking near his home. Andrew had a history of heart problems and it is believed he had a heart attack. As reported at the Hollywood Reporter, just hours before he passed he was talking politics. Andrew left behind a wife and 4 children. God Bless you Andrew and our prayers go out to your family and friends.

ANDREW BREITBART: 1969 – 2012 … REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND

It is a crushing loss to a man that I considered a great inspiration. Andrew Breitbart will be missed but not forgotten.  Every Conservative blogger knows there is a piece of Andrew in all of us. His lasting legacy will be to never be ashamed of your Conservatism and to express you opinions and ideals always. Never be afraid to make your feelings be heard, especially when the LEFT tries to silence you.

Breitbart was walking last night near his Los Angeles home when he collapsed, said his father-in-law, actor Orson Bean.

“He collapsed on the sidewalk and the paramedics were there very quickly and they couldn’t revive him,” Bean told Reuters in a phone interview.

A friend of Breitbart told Reuters he had a history of heart problems and is believed to have suffered a heart attack.

The brash and outspoken blogger and commentator, who published politically inspired photos and undercover videos, was the center of several major news websites, including www.Breitbart.tv, www.breitbart.com and www.biggovernment.com.

Andrew Breitbart fought the war against the institutional MSM. What I most admired most was his willingness to go into the Lion’s den and tajke them on. He backed down to no one and that drove the LEFT nuts.

Breitbart’s death is a tragedy, not only for those who delighted in following him into battle but for those who cheered him on as well. Andrew was larger than life, a charismatic natural leader, a big man in every way — physically, spiritually, and intellectually. He would meet a total stranger and immediately try to enlist him or her into his army, railing against the Left’s mendacity and misdeeds. He would practically pick you up by the lapels and shake you in order to make you understand the furious, urgent necessity of his fight.

However, to the dismay of the LEFT … this is hardly the end, Andrew Breitbart and his vision will live on. He inspired far too many people and showed all of us just what it takes to take on the institutional media and the crazy LEFT. Thank you for everything … Rest in Peace.
