Suspect, Rayan P., Arrested on Suspicion of Kidnapping Marlies van der Kouwen … Suspect Interrogated
On Friday afternoon, the police in Bonaire arrested Rayan P. on suspicion of kidnapping in the disappearance of Marlies van der Kouwen. Marlies van der Kouwe was reportedly kidnapped by man on a scooter. During the search a scooter was taken in at the Kaya Mgr. Niewindt, in the garden of relatives of the suspect. Will Bonaire solve this case and find the missing girl is a professional and competent manner or will this be another case like in Aruba with a carousel of arrests and witnesses?
There has been a search at the Kaya Kamari, Kaya Wanapa and Kaya Amazona. Later on in the evening, a scooter was taken in at the Kaya Mgr. Niewindt, in the garden of relatives of the suspect. There has been no trace of the Dutch woman since her disappearance on Sunday night. She was kidnapped by a man on a motor or scooter when she was cycling on her way to her apartment at Hato. The painstaking search still continues. According to unconfirmed reports, Rayan P. was released from prison a month ago. In 2002 he was convicted to eight years for raping a woman at Belnem, on Bonaire. P. was arrested while a press conference of the police was going on in the building of the Island Council. Public Prosecutor David van Delft had apologized for his absence. Lieutenant governor Herbert Domacassé would hold a national oration at eleven o’clock this morning.

24 Year Old Marlies Elizabeth van der Kouwe Missing … Kidnapped in Bonaire
Just Another Day in a Caribbean Paradise … This time its Bonaire.
24 year old Marlies Elizabeth van der Kouwe was kidnapped in Bonaire at 2:30 am Sunday morning when a man pulled her off her bicycle. The man, who was on a dark colored two wheeled vehicle is said to be between 1.70 and 1.80 meters tall, was dressed in dark-colored clothing and was wearing a jacket. Her parents who live in the Netherlands were informed of their daughter’s abduction.
Marlies Elizabeth Van der Kouwe Description:
- 24 years old, born in Curaçao on the 11th of May 1984
- 1.63 meters tall
- blue eyes
- blond hair

Marlies van der Kouwe kidnapped in Bonaire
The police has put in a large scale search party to find the missing 24 year old Marlies Elizabeth van der Kouwe. On the night of Saturday to Sunday at two thirty she was pulled off her bicycle by a man on a dark-colored two-wheeled vehicle.
The man, between 1.70 and 1.80 meters long, was dressed in dark-colored clothing and was wearing a jacket. This took place on the Boulevard Gobernador N. Debrot in the neighbourhood of the WEB-factory. The vehicle left off eastwards. Police chief John Schagen,
Lieutenant Governor Herbert Domacassé, Chief of Police John Schagen and Officer of Justice David van Delft during the pressconference.
Lieutenant Governor Herbert Domacassé and Officer of Justice David van Delft held a press conference about the kidnapping yesterday.
So how will the search for missing Marlies Elizabeth van der Kouwe differ from that of the case of Natalee Holloway in Aruba? Why do we ask? According to a press conference, Bonaire has requested the help of the coast guard of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba. Let’s hope they do not ask the ALE for their help.
They asked the coast guard of the Netherlands Antilles and Aruba to help them in their search who have already put in a plane. The plane scanned the area on Monday evening and Tuesday before sunrise. According to Chief of Police Schagen , the RST of the Netherlands Antilles has been pulled in for the investigation.
However, we already see one difference in the two cases as investigators in Bonaire are treating the kidnapping of Marlies Elizabeth van der Kouwe seriously as opposed to the nonchalant and inept manner that the ALE did in the Natalee Holloway case.
“Our first priority is to find her back. We are still hopeful that she is still alive. We’re handling this as a serious crime”, says the police chief.
UPDATE I: Netherland News on the Abduction of Marlies Elizabeth van der Kouwe
-
Nederlandse ontvoerd op Bonaire – Dag.com
UPDATE II: Dutch woman abducted in the Dutch Antilles
Bonaire wants to make differences between their missing persons case and Natalee Holloway. They can make all the claims they want; however, missing is missing and acts of violence against woman are just that … no difference.
The Dutch Antilles island of Bonaire is in shock after a young Dutch woman went missing during the weekend.
AD, De Volkskrant and Trouw report on the abduction that bears similarities to the Holloway case that took place on Aruba. Twenty-four-year-old Marlies van der Kouwe disappeared after an evening at a popular bar on Saturday night. She was seen being dragged off her bicycle by one or two assailants on a scooter. Only her bicycle and flip-flops were found.

A&E Big Spender: What Happened to Natalee Holloway … Missing in Aruba
Save the dates and time … A&E plans to air a documentary that looks into the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba and “What Happened to Natalee Holloway”. The Natalee Holloway story was just recently back in the news as an unidentified witness came forward who had passed polygraph test and place both Joran Van der Sloot and his father Paulus Van der Sloot out at 4:00 am the morning of May 30, 2005. New witness accounts can be read HERE, HERE and HERE.
Bill Kurtis hosts this documentary special that looks at the case that shocked the nation–the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway on the island of Aruba on May 30, 2005. Natalee was last seen alive leaving a bar with three young local men, who became the prime suspects.

Aruba investigators and prosecutors have continually been given evidence and have consistently looked the other way. By avoiding issues and hiding their head in the sandy beaches of Aruba, officials this that the Natalee Holloway story will just go away. How wrong could they be …

Natalee Holloway Investigation: The Witness was Afraid to Come Forward & Aware that Paulus van der Sloot had Powerful Connections in the Prosecutors Office.
A 48 year old unidentified witness comes forward in the case of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. He states that he did not come forward sooner because he was afraid. He was afraid of the consequences of his statements and the fact that Paulus van der Sloot had powerful connections in the Prosecutors Office. Seems that the witnesses suspicions were confirmed by the fact that Hans Mos refuses to do anything and is more concerned with discrediting the witness than listening to him. The cover up continues as a witness who has passed two polygraph tests is not considered credible by the prosecutor. Credibility is hardly a word that should even be uttered by LE or prosecution in Aruba.

However the witness was afraid to come forward to the Police and local Prosecutor, because of the prejudice in the Prosecutor Office, which is alive and growing each day.
The witness was afraid of the consequences of his statement, since he was well aware that Paulus van der Sloot has powerful connections in the Prosecutors Office.
Key witness reveals what happened 4:05 am at Monserat
Paulus and Joran were “looking” for something on the side of the road
(Full translation below)

ORANJESTAD(AAN): Last week, DIARIO published the latest information regarding the key witness, who came forward to disclose everything he witnessed on May 2005 from his house, which is situated in the neighborhood of the Nacional Soccer field, close to the Monserat pond.
However the witness was afraid to come forward to the Police and local Prosecutor, because of the prejudice in the Prosecutor Office, which is alive and growing each day.
He did give a statement to the Prosecutor, but to certain extent. The more important and key details he revealed to the American investigators.
The American investigators listened very carefully to his story and immediately felt that he was telling the truth. They then asked him if he was willing to go to the States and pass a polygraph test. The witness was tested by John S. Swartz, a renowned professional in this field, and the test revealed that he was telling the truth! Finally shedding some light on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in 2005.

Natalee Holloway: New Witness in Aruba Id’s Joran Van der Sloot and Prosecution Continues the Cover Up
THE COVER UP IN ARUBA CONTINUES …
A new witness has come forward in the disappearance of Alabama teenager Natalee Holloway who went missing in Aruba in 2005. A new witness who has passed two polygraph exams. A witness who has placed Joran Van der Sloot and Paulus Van der Sloot near a pond at 4:00 in the morning of May 30, 2005.
He passed all the examinations perfectly, and John Swartz is
convinced that this witness is telling the truth about what he saw at
4 a.m. in front of his house. The witness continued to declare (and proved with his test that he
was telling the truth) that the man he saw had on wet clothes, and had
a notable stripe of muddy waters that reached to his chest, about 5
centimeters more or less over his flannel. The stripe on his flannel showed clearly that from the muddy waters
going down his clothes were completely wet.
However, according to all accounts Aruban prosecutor Hans Mos is more interested in discrediting the witness rather than questioning him. The cover up continues in Aruba in the case of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. The question that needs to be put forth to Aruba and their prosecutor is … if you are not willing to investigate leads and do any investigation in this case, then close it and provide the full file to Natalee’s family. We are confident they will know what to do with your purposely botched, corrupt and inept investigation.
Watch and listen to the exclusive interview with Jossy Mansur, Managing Editor of Diario-Aruba regarding the new witness and Aruba’s continued obstruction of Justice for Natalee

Natalee Holloway Investigation: Exclusive … Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch in Aruba to meet With ALE/Prosecutor … New Witness That Puts Joran & Paulus Van der Sloot Near Ponds on 5/30/05
Is it possible that this is the break and the witness that the family of Natalee Holloway has been looking for the past 3+ years? Could this finally be the break that provided “Justice for Natalee”.
We just recieved a call from Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch. Tim is presently in Aruba and planning to meet with the Aruban prosecutor and the ALE. It appears that there is a new witness that has come forward that has placed Joran Van der Sloot in wet and muddy clothing out at 4:00am on 5/30/05. The 48 year old Aruban witness also places Paulus Van der Sloot at the scene picking up Joran in a red jeep.
Why is this witness potentially credible? The Aruban passed two polygraph tests in Houston, TX on August 5, 2008. The tests were performed by John Swartz of John Swartz & Associates, International Polygraph Examiners. The 48 year old Aruba, name withheld for obvious reasons, went to police early on in the investigation; however, was not taken seriously. He is also claimed to have spoke with Hans Mos. Whether an actual police report exists of the witness is unknown.
Read the following English translation from Diario regarding the new witness, what he has stated what he saw that fateful night that Natalee Holloway went missing. Remember, this witness has passed two polygraph tests.

ORANJESTAD (AAN) Perhaps many will say today that God is great, and in
a meticulous way does His work so that every crime has hidden clues so
that the solution may be reached. Today it has gone so far that DIARIO
can reveal officially to the people that at last a masculine witness
has come forward. This witness felt he could no longer hold back, and at last gave
his complete declaration as to what he saw at the end of May 2005, at
4′oclock in the morning, from the window of his living room.

Aruba & Curacao Beaches Polluted by Oil Tanker
This oil tanker spill may put a dent in those Aruban white sandy beaches. Aruba managed to find the culprits to this crime rather quickly that affected their beaches. Why can’t they say the same to other crimes that happen on or near their beaches?
ORANJESTAD – The beaches on Aruba and Curaçao have probably been polluted by an oil tank at the Venezuelan coast. This is what both the Curaçao Haven Veiligheidsinspectie, (Curaçao port safety inspection) as well as Bibi Arends from the Aruban Bureau of disaster co-ordination believe.

Dutch Producer Hans Pos: Movie on Disappearance & Possible Murder of Natalee Holloway in Aruba
A Dutch producer, Hans Pos, of the Shooting Star Film Co. has announced plans for a movie and looks to capitalize and exploit the 2005 case of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in Aruba. Why do we say exploit? Pos has announced that the film will be “loosely based” on the events that took place in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
AMSTERDAM — Dutch producer Hans Pos of the Shooting Star Film Co. has announced plans for a feature film loosely based on the 2005 disappearance and possible murder of American student Natalee Holloway on Aruba, one of the islands in the Dutch Antilles.
Pos will base the film, which he also will direct, on the crime novel “Vuurkoraal,” by Dutch journalist Annet de Jong. Screenwriter Simon de Waal is working on the adaptation. Pos plans to release the film in 2009.
Dutch film to dramatize case of missing teen
However, there do seem to be two positive aspects to a “loosely” based movie being made. One, the press release referenced the following, the 2005 disappearance and possible murder of American student Natalee Holloway on Aruba. Two, it will once again bring the story back into the public eye in the Netherlands and continue to haunt and follow Joran Van der Sloot.
UPDATE I: The ‘Holloway-adaptation’ will most probably not be shot on Aruba but on Curaçao
The ‘Holloway-adaptation’ will most probably not be shot on Aruba but on Curaçao, says the production office in Amsterdam. Producer Pos had already filmed the movie Baby Blue there together with the murdered Dutch film-maker Theo van Gogh. Whether he will use the same local Curaçaoan team, is not clear as yet.
Ever since crime reporter Peter R. de Vries filmed the suspect Joran van der Sloot with a hidden camera, the Holloway-case has received a lot of attention from the Dutch public.
