SACRIFICE: Obama & First Family Trip to Africa Will Cost U.S. Taxpayers Between $60 and $100 Million

Title this one, Sequester, what sequester? Or, It’s Good to be King. Or, You Can Go Home Again  ;-)

As reported at the Washington Post, President Barack Obama and his families trip to Africa will be one of the most expensive trips ever and cost the American tax payers between $60 and $100 million. That is correct. As millions of Americans are unemployed, under-employed, and struggle to get by on a day to day basis. This takes place as a record number of Americans are on food stamps and disability. This occurs as so-called sequestration has caused government departments to cut back and furlough workers. Barack Obama has said in the past that every one has to have skin in the game and must sacrifice? That is everyone but him. As Weasel Zippers states, “Just as long as the King and Queen of America enjoy themselves.” This man truly is a community agitator. Who does this at a time that the United States finds itself in record debt?

So let’s understand this, fighter jets will fly in shifts, giving 24-hour coverage over the president’s airspace, a Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency but yet Americans were left to die in Benghazi without any military help within an 8 hour range? Really? Furthermore, we are in the midst of questioning the IRS for their lavish and over the top wasteful spending, yet Obama’s jaunt to Africa gets the rubber stamp of approval? The LEFT will be quick to say, well Bush did it. Is that really a defense? I thought Obama wasn’t W? We realize that other presidents have gone on expensive trips as well, but this president is not supposed to be like others. Obama says he cares about the poor and the middle class. Obama claims that he identifies with the common man and plays class warfare. However, this imperial, do as I say, not as I do, let them eat cake president just snubs his nose at the American people and does any damn thing he wants at the expense of ‘We the People”. What a disgrace.

Hundreds of U.S. Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency.

Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bullet­proof glass to cover the windows of the hotels where the first family will stay. Fighter jets will fly in shifts, giving 24-hour coverage over the president’s airspace, so they can intervene quickly if an errant plane gets too close.

The elaborate security provisions — which will cost the government tens of millions of dollars — are outlined in a confidential internal planning document obtained by The Washington Post. While the preparations appear to be in line with similar travels in the past, the document offers an unusual glimpse into the colossal efforts to protect the U.S. commander in chief on trips abroad.

Obama’s trip could cost the federal government $60 million to $100 million based on the costs of similar African trips in recent years, according to one person familiar with the journey, who was not authorized to speak for attribution. The Secret Service planning document, which was provided to The Post by a person who is concerned about the amount of resources necessary for the trip, does not specify costs.

The Weekly Standard reports that after the WAPO questioned the costs of a planned family safari, the White House nixed the plan. So does that mean if we question the entire trip, they will cancel this ridiculous, over-priced boondoggle as well?

Even though minorities have voted overwhelmingly for President Barack Obama and Democrats, their quality of “happiness” has declined in the past two years. In the 2012 election, 93% of blacks and 71% of Latinos voted for Barack Obama, yet they are more unhappy now than in 2011. Don’t ask for things, they might come true. This is what happens when you sell your souls to one party and they know you are a sure vote. When will minorities understand that Obama and Democrats just make campaign promises and then one they have been elected, forget anything that was promised. Black and Hispanic unemployment  is among the hardest hit by the failed Obama economy. But I thought Obama was going to fix all your problems and make the ills of society go away?

A Harris Poll of 2,345 U.S. adults surveyed online April 10-15 by Harris Interactive found certain groups, such as minorities, recent graduates and the disabled, trended downward in the last couple of years.

The Role of Politics

Minorities show particularly pronounced declines in happiness in the two years since the Happiness Index was last measured, with especially low happiness levels observed among the Hispanic American population; while it is important to note that a causal link cannot be established, it may not be a coincidence that this drop coincides with a political landscape that has seen frequent, sometimes contentious, discussion of immigration policy in recent months. Other findings include: African-Americans appear to be less happy than in 2011, with 36% qualifying as very happy – down from 44% in 2011. However, though happiness is down among them, they remain roughly as happy as whites (34%); in contrast, fewer than three in ten Hispanic Americans (28%) are very happy. This represents not only a decline from 2011 (35%) but also a significantly lower percentage than seen among either whites or African-Americans. Among Americans with disabilities, the percentage of those very happy has dropped from 34% to 31%- another decline which may have ties to cuts or feared cuts in services as a result of the sequester.

On Friday, we learned that the US created a pathetic 88,000 jobs as the unemployment rate fell to 7.6% thanks to the Labor participation rate falling to 34-Year Low of 63.3%, the lowest since May 1979. We all know who was president then, don’t we? More Americans were killed in Afghanistan, the despot dictator of North Korea Kim Jong-un has been threatening nuclear war, the Middle East continues to be a tinderbox, not to mention the record level number of Americans on food stamps and escalated gas and health care prices. All this going on and this clown we call a president goes golfing yet again, for the second weekend in a row.

President Obama went out for a round of golf Saturday afternoon, his second weekend in a row to hit the links at a course at Joint Base Andrews. The president golfed with White House aides Marvin Nicholson, Joe Paulsen, and Michael Brush.

When will this president ever take his job seriously and actually show one ounce of empathy with the struggling American people? The answer is never, because that is what this 1% president is all about. Sacrifice is your you, not him. It is “We the People” who are supposed to struggle and make it possible for Obama and his family and the Biden’s to take multiple vacations, while American families stay home. It is obvious Obama could care less about the American people, and a note to black folks, that means you too. Obama acts like nothing is going wrong, yet everything a catastrophe, down to his all important NCAA basketball brackets.  

EXIT QUESTION: Would the MSM let a Republican president get away with the perception that a president could care less and go on as business as usual as they demand Americans sacrifice and in the middle of sequestration where others are having their life styles cut? Back in 2012, Obama had played four times more golf than George W. Bush did in eight years. Ironically, it sounds all too familiar to Obama’s budget spending as well. Remember when President GWB gave up golf because in his words, he did not think it was right as Commander in Chief and it sent the wrong message. It is very unfortunate we have a current president in Obama who does not feel the same as Americans continue to die and millions struggle out of work.

US Unempoyment Rate Drops to 7.6% in March 2013 with a Pathetic 88,0000 Jobs Created … Labor Force Participation to 63.3%, a New 34 Year Low

The US Unemployment rate for March 2013 fell to 7.6%; however, this was done with an anemic 88,000 jobs created. The jobs report fell far short, not a little or just missed as economist expectations of 200,000 new jobs. As reported at Zero Hedge, the unemployment rate declined to 7.6%, but this was due entirely to the collapse in the labor force participation rate, which declined by 20 bps to 63.3%, a new 30 year low.  In March labor force de-participation soared by a massive 663,000 to a record 90 million Americans who are no longer even looking for work. At this rate Obama will have the unemployment rate down to 2% as everyone will have left the workforce and because of the BS fuzzy math they use to calculate the numbers.

Job creation slowed to a crawl during March, with the U.S. economy creating just 88,0000 positions though the unemployment rate fell to 7.6 percent.

The number was a sharp slide from February’s upwardly revised 268,000.

The Labor Department reported Friday that nonfarm payroll growth eased amid hopes that the economy had begun to achieve the escape velocity needed for sustained growth.

Friday’s report fell short of economist expectations of 200,000 new jobs, though it did confirm some of the weakness in recent reports.

THE EMPLOYMENT SITUATION — MARCH 2013

Nonfarm payroll employment edged up in March (+88,000), and the unemployment rate was little changed at 7.6 percent, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Employment grew in professional and business services and in health care but declined in retail trade.

Household Survey Data

Both the number of unemployed persons, at 11.7 million, and the unemployment rate, at 7.6 percent, were little changed in March. (See table A-1.)

Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rates for adult men (6.9 percent), adult women (7.0 percent), teenagers (24.2 percent), whites (6.7 percent), blacks (13.3 percent), and Hispanics (9.2 percent) showed little or no change in March. The jobless rate for Asians was 5.0 percent (not seasonally adjusted), little changed from a year earlier. (See tables A-1, A-2, and A-3.)

In March, the number of long-term unemployed (those jobless for 27 weeks or more) was little changed at 4.6 million. These individuals accounted for 39.6 percent of the unemployed. (See table A-12.)

The civilian labor force declined by 496,000 over the month, and the labor force participation rate decreased by 0.2 percentage point to 63.3 percent. The employment- population ratio, at 58.5 percent, changed little. (See table A-1.)

The number of persons employed part time for economic reasons (sometimes referred to as involuntary part-time workers) fell by 350,000 over the month to 7.6 million. These individuals were working part time because their hours had been cut back or because they were unable to find a full-time job. (See table A-8.)

Futures for the Dow Jones industrial average were down 1% while futures for the Standard & Poor’s 500 index and the Nasdaq 100 composite index were about 0.8% lower after the Labor Department’s monthly employment report was released at 8:30 a.m. ET. The number of jobs created in March was less than half the consensus estimate on Wall Street.

But Obama and his mouth pieces would have you believe that everything is A-O-K. In fact some Dems are prasing this as the greatest contraction of GDP ever. Of course it is, because Obama is president and anything bad is spun as good. Welcome to Obamaland.

The economy shrank from October through December for the first time since the recession ended, hurt by the biggest cut in defense spending in 40 years, fewer exports and sluggish growth in company stockpiles.

The Commerce Department said Wednesday that the economy contracted at an annual rate of 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter. That’s a sharp slowdown from the 3.1 percent growth rate in the July-September quarter.

One individual who has been honest and upfront about President Obama’s disastrous economic policies and the dismal state of affairs in the United States is CNBC’s Rick Santelli. Following the terrible economic report, Santelli stated on CNC’s Squawk Box, “We are now Europe.”

President Barack Obama Averaged 49.1% Job Approval During First Term in Office, Among the Lowest of Post World War II Presidents

According to Gallup, President Barack Hussein Obama’s job approval during his first term in office was among the lowest of ant of the post-World War II presidents. His average of 49.1% during his first term  and 48.1% during his final year of his first term is only above Jimmy Carter and George H.G. Bush. However, these two individuals lost reelection. With a consistent high unemployment rate, record number of individuals on food stamps, near record low job participation and record debt, it makes one scratch their heads how GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney did not defeat Obama. 

One really has to wonder just how low Barack Obama’s job approval ratings would be if he did not have the liberal MSM carrying his water and opening supporting and campaigning for him. How would the American people feel about Barack Obama if they did not have a lying and complicit propagandist media running cover for him? It explains how such an epic failure of a president was reelected. Which begs the questions, had it not been for the corrupt liberal media complex, would a lazy and apathetic America still voted him in for a second term or would they still have bought into Obama’s divisiveness and class warfare?

Clinton and Reagan saw higher second-term approval as the economy improved. Obama’s approval rating has also shown improvement, with a 48.1% average in his fourth year in office after a 44.4% average in his third year.

Maybe Al Sharpton needs a history lesson. Teddy Roosevelt is considered one of the top five  Presidents of all time. Barack Obama, he is considered the most polarizing and liberal president of all times. Sorry Al, but “Speak Softly and Carry a Big Stick” wins out over Obama’s lie to the American people and carry a big tax. Unlike Obama who has done nothing but some how gets kudos from a corrupt media complex, Teddy Roosevelt was an outdoorsman and naturalist who promoted the conservation movement and is credited with establishing the National Parks system. On the world stage, Roosevelt was the force behind the completion of the Panama Canal; sent the Great White Fleet on a world tour to demonstrate American power; and negotiated the Portsmouth treaty that ended to the Russo-Japanese War, for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize.  Roosevelt actually deserved a Nobel Peace Prize, unlike Barack Obama who was handed one for doing nothing. Unlike Obama who does not believe that America should be the only international power Roosevelt believed in American power.

Sorry Al but a president who destroys American exceptionalism, promotes class warfare, socialism and is the most decisive president that this country has had the misfortune of experiencing belongs no where near Mt. Rushmore. Maybe they will rename food stamps after Obama? Sorry, we do not give monuments to presidents who set out to destroy America, we give them bobble-head dolls.

An investigation into where welfare recipients are using their Electronic Benefit Transfer cards has revealed that some are withdrawing taxpayer money from EBT-friendly ATMs at strip clubs and liquor stores.

The New York Post, looking at a database of 200 million EBT records from January 2011 to July 2012 obtained through a Freedom of Information request, discovered that some people receiving government benefits have been using their EBT cards to withdraw cash at several questionable New York establishments: Hank’s Saloon, a porn shop called Blue Door Video, the Patriot Saloon, the Club Eleven strip club, the Club Heat strip joint and Drinks Galore.

Food stamps and cash assistance from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program are accessible through EBT cards. EBT cash benefits can be withdrawn from participating ATMs.

Just curious, why are any welfare recipients allowed to withdraw cash from an EBT card? This is an obvious recipe for fraud. For what purpose would the welfare recipients need cash? If they are able to purchase goods, food and other necessary items via there EBT card, for what purpose do they need cash? Sorry, but there is no, let me emphasize this, NO REASON WHY OUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS SHOULD BE USED IN THIS MANNER!!! 

This is how much the Federal and States care about the proper utilization of hard earned tax payer dollars. We are called greedy and uncaring for questioning why individuals need such welfare funds, yet these leaches are allowed to get away with this fraud and the feds and state governments could care less. Talk about passing the buck. The Feds, the Department of Health and Human Services say its the responsibility of the states and the states say its the retailers obligation. In the end, NO ONE REGULATES THE LOCATIONS … ARE YOU FRIGGIN SERIOUS? The following is the ignorance of the program. If one is taking cash out, how would anyone know what the cash is for? Oh, it’s the honor system. AIN’T THAT GRAND!!!

Welfare recipients receive food stamps and cash assistance under the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. Both benefits are accessed through an EBT card, but only cash assistance — meant for housing, utilities and household necessities — can be accessed at ATMs.

A single-person household could receive a maximum $200 in monthly food stamps plus $158 in cash assistance. A family of four could get as much as $668 in food stamps and $433 in cash.

More government brilliance, or the lack thereof. Obviously this program has been set up to encourage fraud.

A spokesman with the Department of Health and Human Services, which oversees TANF, told the Post that states are responsible for making rules governing the use of EBT cards. New York’s welfare office explained that it is the retailers who decide if they house an EBT-compatible ATM, not the state, which does not regulate the locations.

Some one needs to explain the following … how is it that our tax dollars taken by the feds and sent to the states have no regulations in place to make sure that there is no fraud taking place? So one can just make continual cash withdrawals with their ETB card at ATM’s and purchase illegal drugs, cigarettes, guns and extra large sodas?

As Americans struggle to create budgets and live within their means as Obamacare taxes are about to take affect in 2013 as well as the 2% payroll tax going bye-bye … Obama increases the government debt on tax payers with a pay raise for federal workers. As record number of Americans are on food stamps, record number of Americans are on disabilities and a record number of Americans are unemployed and left the work force completely … Obama does what he does best and acts as a community agitator and rewards federal workers at the expense of the private sector.

President Barack Obama issued an executive order to end the pay freeze on federal employees, in effect giving some federal workers a raise. One federal worker now to receive a pay increase is Vice President Joe Biden.

According to disclosure forms, Biden made a cool $225,521 last year. After the pay increase, he’ll now make $231,900 per year.

Members of Congress, from the House and Senate, also will receive a little bump, as their annual salary will go from $174,000 to 174,900. Leadership in Congress, including the speaker of the House, will likewise get an increase.

As reported at The Weekly Standard, according to a senior Republican congressional aide who has reviewed the executive order and consulted with the Congressional Budget Office, Obama’s pay raise will cost $11 billion. “The CBO told us that the President’s pay raise for federal workers will cost $11 billion over ten years.”

This is how he [Obama] cares about you America. As he increases government workers pay, the median household income has dropped $4,520,or about one month’s average wages, since President Obama took office. As seen by the 2012 Presidential election, “There’s a sucker born every minute”.
