Reality Star? NBC Recruits Blagojevich for Show

Good grief, thanks Dana, as I was just reminded by this story and your commentary as to why I really do not watch TV anymore unless it is news related. If any judge gives Blago permission to leave the country after being indicted, they should be removed from the bench. What a mockery. Drop them into a jungle, huh? How about just into a snake pit, wouldn’t that be more fitting? That would be one time must see TV.

A network statement says 10 celebrities will be dropped into the Costa Rican jungle “to face challenges designed to test their skills in adapting to the wilderness.”

But Blagojevich’s legal problems could end the venture before it begins.

The ousted governor’s bond does not allow him to leave the United States.

An attorney close to his legal defense says Blagojevich is seeking permission from a judge to leave the country to appear on the show.

Bye, Bye Blago … Illinois Governor Blagojevich Impeached 59-0

Thursday as the Illinois Senate convened to determine Governor Rod Blagojevich’s future there were 3 certainties … death, taxes and that Blago would be impeached. The Illinois Senate did not disappoint as they voted 59–0 to impeach and oust Rod Blagojevich as Governor of Illinois.

The Illinois Senate removed Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich from office Thursday, convicting him on an article of impeachment that alleged a pattern of abuse of power.

The vote, 59 to 0, ended nearly two months of political spectacle in which Mr. Blagojevich, a second-term Democrat who rose from the ranks of Chicago ward politics on the strength of his charisma and the connections of his wife’s family, sought to salvage his career and reputation.

As Blago insisted that he was innocent, committed no crimes and his goal was always to help the people, the Illinois Senate for good measure then passed another vote 59–0 barred Democrat Blagojevich from ever again holding public office in the state.

Blagogate: Illinois House Votes to Impeach Governor Rod Blagojevich

The Illinois House of Representatives have voted 114–1 to impeach Governor Rod Blagojevich. The one lone Representative voting against impeachment was Chicago Democrat Milton Patterson. It is the first time in Illinois history that a governor has been impeached. Previously, a legislative panel unanimously approved, 21–0, a scathing report accusing the two-term Democrat Governor Blagojevich of a wide array of offenses, including criminal corruption and wasting taxpayer money.

The impeachment will now head to the Illinois Senate for a trial will take place scheduled for January 26, 2008. The spokesman for Rod Blagojevich said that the governor will not resign. As Hot Air says, why would he resign, he just got done rolling Harry Reid, and Fitzgerald’s indictment is still months away. A resignation would take away all of Blagojevich’s cards. This poker game is far from over.

Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State and Past Donors … Conflict of Interest, Quid Pro Quo … Developer Robert J. Congel?

Every one wants to focus on Blago-gate and the “pay for Senate seat” Quid_pro_quoscandal that has rocked Democrat Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and his brazen attempt at profiteering. The quid pro quo that is being alleged and has now created impeachment proceedings against the Illinois governor. The question that really needs to be answered is if these types of dealings are commonplace and Blagojevich just got caught.

Politics dealings in states and at the federal level seem to be a cross between the “cockroach theory” and the principle of “pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered.”

This leads us to Hillary Clinton and the recent disclosures of the donors to the Clinton Library. What about Hillary Clinton and her what all but seems to be quid pro quo donations for favoritism? An upstate New York developer, Robert J. Congel, donated $100,000 to President Bill Clinton’s foundation shortly after Senator Hillary Clinton helped secure a provision in a highway bill that set aside $5 million for Destiny USA roadway construction.

Caroline Kennedy … Not Ready For Prime Time NY Senate Seat … “You Know” She Wants to be a Senator?

Her name is the sole reason she even dares go for it. Camelot must be Gaelic for chutzpah.

Why does our Congress and Senate have such low approval ratings? Is is because Americans are tired of the fact that these people literally do nothing effective. Tired of the privilege and entitlement. Long ago politicians forgot what it meant to do the work of the people. Maybe it is because when it comes to privilege these candidates never were “the people”. Maybe part of the problem is that we do not elect the best people for the job.

We complain about entitlement and then along comes Caroline Kennedy for Hillary Clinton’s Senate seat and all is supposed to change because her only qualification is that she is a Kennedy. We are supposed to all be in awe of the Kennedy name, drop to out knees and pray toward Hyannisport and the Kennedy compound.  Are Senate seats supposed to be about entitlement? Clearly, Caroline Kennedy is not ready for prime time.

Some top Democrats were certain Gov. Paterson, a close-to-the vest electorate of one, would find Kennedy irresistible now and as a running mate in two years. All others were chopped liver next to her sudden star power.

But a strange thing is happening on the way to the coronation. The wheels of the bandwagon are coming off. Fantasy is giving way to inescapable truth.

That truth is that Kennedy is not ready for the job and doesn’t deserve it. Somebody who loves her should tell her.

Her quest is becoming a cringe-inducing experience, as painful to watch as it must be to endure. Because she is the only survivor of that dreamy time nearly 50 years ago, she remains an iconic figure. But in the last few days, her mini-campaign has proved she has little to offer New Yorkers except her name.

Talk about failing your job interview. Here is a hint to all job seekeers during your interview, do not ever use the phrase, “you know”. As Hot Air states, ‘The more you know about Caroline…’

Honestly, what is the difference between what is going on in Illinois with Blagogate, fee for Obama Senate seat, as opposed to what is perceived as a quit pro quo Ted Kennedy endorsement to Barack Obama? What is a Kennedy family endorsement worth to a Democratic Presidential candidate? I would dare say more than $1 million. So we ask ourselves, what are the qualifications of Caroline Kennedy to be Senator?

Obama a Bit Defensive with Chicago Tribune Question … Obama, no more Softballs when it comes to Blagojevich Scandal

Obama actually challenged by the very people who carried his water during the Presidential campaign. Change you can believe in … how about just providing an honest answer?

Change you can believe in … a politician not giving a straight answer to a question from the press and actually lectures and chastises them.

Barack Obama promised change, transparency and a new beginning to Washington politics. It would appear that talk is cheap. This is what happens when the Press gives some one softballs for two years and never challenges a candidate. When it comes time for a situation like Blagogate, Obama has no idea how to act or handle the situation. The MSM did America no favors by carrying Obama’s water during the campaign. We are now witness to the results.

Maverick McCain Goes Soft Again … Scolds GOP for Fanning Democrat Illinois Blagogate Corruption Scandal

Why did John McCain lose to Obama in the 2008 Presidential election? Was it because of the Obama faux message of change? Obama’s get out the vote? Nope. It was because too many Conservatives and Republicans were not inspired my the maverick because they did not trust McCain to act like a Republican. Suddenly, in the wake of a senate seat for sale scandal and Obama not being openly honest, McCain decides to be “mavericky”.

Dear Senator McCain, the way that this has been handled by Obama screams that people ask questions. When even Democrats begin to question the silence and handling of this issue, who are you Senator McCain to scold your own party?

 Obama/Blagojevich video via Red State

Have Republicans finally figured out that John McCain is only a “maverick” when he goes against his own Republican party? John McCain, who when the tough got going during the Presidential election, decided to go soft is now chiding the GOP for fanning the flames of the Democratic Blagojevich senate seat for sale corruption. How soft has John McCain become since losing to Obama? Better yet, by his comments below it would appear that McCain believe that Chicago politics is a walk through the candy cane and gum drop forest in fantasy land.

McCain replied: “I think that the Obama campaign should and will give all information necessary. You know, in all due respect to the Republican National Committee and anybody — right now, I think we should try to be working constructively together, not only on an issue such as this, but on the economy stimulus package, reforms that are necessary. And so, I don’t know all the details of the relationship between President-elect Obama’s campaign or his people and the governor of Illinois, but I have some confidence that all the information will come out. It always does, it seems to me.”

Barack Obama & Blago Senate Sale Seat Scandal: Change You Can Believe in … In All depends on what “Contact” is

Change You can believe In … A Return to Clintonism

Political scandal and Obama has yet to even take the oath of office. Is any right thinking person really supposed to believe that Barack Obama was not interested in who would succeed him as Illinois Senator? That Obama would not his own hand chosen person to replace him in the Senate? Hardly, to believe otherwise would be nothing more than foolish.

Obama Says He Never Spoke to Governor on Senate Seat, Not a single time. Mr. Blagojevich

It all depends on what the meaning of the word is, is. Change, why does that sound do familiar? Why does the comment that Obama made that “we had no contact” sound so familiar to “I did not have sexual relations with that woman”.  However, in Obama’s case he has yet to even take the oath of office and had a cred issue. How often have we heard the statement that the cover up is worse than the crime?

“Governor Blagojevich confers with now President-Elect Barack Obama.”

Wake Up America asks the obvious and most important question that Barack Obama must answer to “We the People” … Why Would Obama Lie About Meeting Governor Rod Blagojevich? Obama can cutely try to laugh this matter away; however, there is something just not right that every time some like this happens, it is never The Obamamessiah’s fault.

As reported by the Gateway Pundit, Change… Blagojevich Held 2 Hour Long Conference Call With Obama Advisors On Selling the Senate Seat …Update: Obama Admits Reps Talked With Hot Rod

For nearly two years Barack Obama made promises of political change in Washington DC. Obama stated he was a different kind of politician and would clean up the mess that was “Inside the Beltway” politics. There was just one problem, Obama came from the Chicago political machine that when it came to fraud, crime and corruption made DC politics down right tame.
