Natalee Holloway Investigation: Justice-minister Rudy Croes, “I was not Warned about the 3 Suspects Detention” … The Cover Up Continues
Tourism and Economic Interests over Solving Crimes at all Cost
Was the case of Natalee Holloway by Aruban OM Hans Mos shut down in Aruba by the powers that be? Are people in the Aruban government still providing preferential treatment and running cover for Joran Van der Sloot, Deepak Kalpoe and Satish Kalpoe? The recent actions of Aruban OM are beginning to make sense.
(Reputation Harmed Again? Welcome to the face of Aruban Tourism)
It would appear that Justice Minister Rudy Croes is miffed over the fact that he was not in the loop regarding the recent re-arrest of the three suspects, Deepak Kalpoe, Satish Kalpoe and Joran Van der Loot, in the Natalee Holloway investigation. It would also seem that there is an admission from the Aruban government official that Aruba’s reputation was harmed again internationally.
Justice-minister Rudy Croes (MEP) says that he should have been informed earlier of the detention of the three suspects in the Holloway-case. “Now that everything is back on the table, the reputation of Aruba is harmed again internationally.”
The admission that some may have not been in the loop begins to make some sense as to how Aruban OM Hans Mos began this recent arrest, prosecution and comments on TV like a lion and ended like a lamb. This seems to play into the idea of “governmental pressure” that has been discussed as to why Hans Mos did an about face on his criminal prosecution and the release of the three suspects. How does one go from having new evidence, making re-arrests of the Kalpoes, have Natalee’s parents fly to Aruba and flying Joran Van der Sloot to Aruba from Holland after his arrest only to have nothing?
Talk about a conflict of doing one’s duties. An OM looking to prosecute cases and a Justice Minister looking only to promote an island’s reputation. Does this mean that Mos had every intention of prosecuting and had new evidence against the three suspects; however, when the news of new evidence was learned by the Justice Minister was immediately squelched? Thus leaving Mos with the embarrassment of I have new evidence only to be left holding the bag and egg on his face. All at the cost of a family and their search for answers and justice for their missing daughter. Let us not forget the comments that Jossy Mansur, Managing Editor of Diario, made recently with regards to the actions of OM Mos:
It has become obvious to us and to the independent part of the population that the prosecutors will only act on behalf of the government against its opponents, but never….and I will repeat NEVER against the corrupt Ministers and Parliament members of the ruling party. (Jossy Mansur, 12/9/07)
WAS HAN’S MOS SHUT DOWN BY THE MEP ARUBAN GOVERNMENT? Enter Justice Minister Rudy Croes. It has always been discussed the friends that Paul Van der Sloot had in high and influential places. Ministers, who as Hans Mos states are more concerned with the reputation and tourism economy of Aruba than with solving a criminal case of a missing Alabama teenager, Natalee Holloway.
… the OM makes decisions and the minister must not work against it. Some people are more worried about the reputation of the country than they are about solving criminal cases. These seem to be subordinated to economic interests; you can then do away with the police and justice.”
The above comments say a mouth full. It is an admission that Aruba puts its tourism ahead of any type of investigation into the case of a missing American. The investigation was not based upon fact finding, it was based upon how Aruba’s image would be tarnished.
OM has not warned me on time (Amigoe: 12/14/07)
Same as last time, a huge amount of media came to Aruba this time to cover the detention of the three suspects.
ORANJESTAD – Justice-minister Rudy Croes (MEP) says that he should have been informed earlier of the detention of the three suspects in the Holloway-case. “Now that everything is back on the table, the reputation of Aruba is harmed again internationally.”

Aruba: Death Due to Dengue after Woman Battled Leukemia
Death due to dengue, One Dengue Island …
Imagine battling, beating and surviving leukemia. Then have your leukemia go in to remission, only to go to Aruba and die from dengue? A woman returned from the Netherlands after being treated for leukemia only to die from dengue after returning to Aruba. Is there something in the water, other than the dengue? One wonders how Aruban officials will blame this poor woman for contracting dengue?
ORANJESTAD – A 26-year old woman died from dengue last week. This woman has leukemia and had recently returned from the Netherlands, where she was treated for leukemia. She was in remission when she came back to Aruba and a dengue infection was fatal for her. (Amigoe, 12/8/07)
Aruba (Dengue): “How can people understand the seriousness … if they are not informed?”
We are still talking about Dengue? Or is this a metaphor for pretty much every thing that occurs on Aruba where the Aruban officials attempt to misinform not only their people, but the world? So its not just misinformation regarding Natalee Holloway, its a pattern.

Aruba Vulnerable to Tourism Dependency … No Kidding … Justice for Natalee
Protesting and boycotting is a personal choice. It always has been and is a sign of solidarity for Natalee and her family. Aruba … this is America where people have the right to protest anything they deem unfair and unjust. That would be you and how you have handled the Natalee Holloway investigation and how you have treated the family of a victim.
Here’s the worst kept secret in Aruba, that Aruba is vulnerable to tourism dependency. OK, its the second worst kept secret. The disappearance of Natalee Holloway is #1.
With Aruba’s continued refusal to provide “Justice for Natalee,” the question continues to be asked … why would anyone go to a Caribbean island like Aruba and spend their hard earned money when “if something bad happens” they will be provided no justice and be treated like a suspect?
At the same time he pointed out the vulnerability of the island by depending so much on the income from tourism. That became clear in 2006, when the growth of the gross national product (BNP) practically came to a standstill and the debt on the current accounts increased drastically after a drop in the number of visiting tourists.
Aruba is most certainly vulnerable to tourism and those that have traveled to tourism trade shows can confirm. Letting individuals and future vacation go’ers know that Natalee Holloway is still missing and no justice has been provided is a powerful tool in informing people.

Tourism should never be considered a given by any destination. Tourism is cyclical; however, when one goes out of their way to bring negative attention upon themselves when in the 21st century people have options … that is tourism suicide.

Natalee Holloway Investigation: Kalpoe Brothers Released … Aruba Prosecutor Hans Mos will Appeal
Chief Aruban Public Prosecutor (OM) Hans Mos has stated that he will appeal the decision of the judge that allowed the release of suspects Deepak and Satish Kalpoe in the case of missing teen Natalee Holloway. The judge reviewing the case stated tat there was “serious ‘objections’ against them”, but not enough to keep them in custody. It does really make one wonder just what it does take to actually hold some one in Aruba.
The examining magistrate says that it’s true that the current dossier of the two suspects contains serious ‘objections’ against them, but not enough to keep them longer in custody. Custody based on the current evidence is not allowed. This evidence was the wiping out of traces of a crime scene and the spiriting away of a body, said a spokesperson of the OM.
Amigoe, Dec 3, 2007: Brothers Kalpoe are outside again
Chief public prosecutor Hans Mos indicated that the OM will appeal the decision of the examining magistrate to release the brothers Kalpoe from custody.
ORANJESTAD – The two fellow suspects of Joran van der Sloot (20), the brothers Deepak (24) and Satish (21) are again released from custody today. The Public Prosecutor (OM) has requested an extension of the custody today, but the examining magistrate ruled against it. The OM has meanwhile announced that she will appeal this decision.

Natalee Holloway Missing in Aruba: Renée Gielen … You Sad Pathetic, Misguided Attention Seeker, Blame the Victims
Why Natalee Holloway will haunt the island of Aruba forever, until there is “Justice for Natalee.”
If anyone in Aruba, including the many that email Scared Monkeys stating that we only post negative comments about Aruba, want to know why your island has such a negative perception … you only need look at the words of Renee Gielen.
The lies in the book and the many other doubtful claims and occurrences in the past 2.5 years made me think: Has Beth really wanted Natalee to be found?”
Over 2 1/2 years after Natalee Holloway went missing in Aruba while on a vacation with her teenage classmates, we still get this kind of dribble and insanity from people who would wish to throw mud at a missing person and the mother of a missing child. How pathetic could one possibly be to make these accusations? I suppose Dave Holloway and the rest of the family members did not wish to find Natalee either?
If this “so-called” documentary maker had a real clue, then they would know that Natalee’s case in Aruba is no different than many missing person cases in the United States like Taylor Behl, Julie Popovich, Imette St. Guillen, Michelle Gardner Quinn and the list goes on and on and on. The Natalee Holloway case was not unique or a mystery in what occurred. What was unique was how authorities handled the case. The only difference is, for some reason in Aruba when all signs, evidence and logic point toward the suspects who were last seen with Natalee Holloway and lied about their whereabouts, that makes them innocent. Like a person who abducts and murders a victim ever first admits their guilt. All of the above missing person cases that turned to murder cases all have the same MO. Except in Aruba, people like Renee Gielen wish to blame the victim and the family for a tragedy.
The defend Aruba to protect its precious tourism and the three suspects at all cost as Gielen continues to do for the attention and Aruba’s tourism will never go back to what it once was. No one needs to hear the insane rants and the blaming of a family of a missing child when they have already suffered the worse thing that life has to offer, a parent burying a child. In this case that could not even occur.
