Reports from Valley Forge Convention Center Demonstration/Protest against Aruba Tourism Authority … Justice For Natalee

JUSTICE FOR NATALEE CONTINUES … KUDOS to those that went to Pennsylvania to provide a voice for Natalee Holloway. Here are some accounts from Richard, one of the individuals who participated in the campaign for “Justice for Natalee”. This is a brief report on today’s demonstration/protest against Aruba Tourism Authority. It was held at the Valley Forge Convention Center, or a name very similar to that, although it was billed as happening in a town called King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Somehow there is something appealing in the idea of demonstrating at Valley Forge. It wasn’t QUITE as cold as it probably was in George Washington’s day, but none of us mutinied.

Listen to Richards interview on the Dana Pretzer Show

Anyway, here’s a basic overview of what happened, at least as I saw it. Anyone is free to post this on a blog. Those participants who took photos will be asked to send them to the key blogs. We had six participants at the maximum. Four of us post on Scared Monkeys as follows: 10061906, NM, Elaine, and Richard. JusticeforNatalee and her husband dropped in; she had taken part in the “original” Boston protest, and we were all pleased that she joined us. None of the rest of us had ever met, but we all worked together effectively.

UPDATE: PICS FROM THE PA TRAVEL SHOW

Arrangements had been made with security, who gave us a place to stand near a main entrance to the convention center. This place had a huge parking lot, so it wasn’t like the Boston event, where everyone had to pass by us. As there was at least one other main entrance, a number of people might have not seen us. Also, the traffic pattern in the huge parking lot was chaotic at the best. Anyone who pulled over to take our pamphlets, read our signs, or to just take a look risked incurring an accident. I think that a post in front of an entrance would have been safer for everyone.

Still and all, these were the arrangements that security at the event gave us. As in Boston, we were not allowed to hand out literature within the convention center, or to wear “protest clothing” inside. Thanks to Jamie of Alabama, we had received a number of her beautiful signs and sweatshirts. Vicki in Florida deserves lots of credit for supervising all of these things with her usual efficiency and spreading the word to everyone. The main point that’s worth making is that (as far as I know) we heard NOT ONE PRO-ARUBA COMMENT. Not everyone who came to talk with us criticized Aruba, but many did. A number of people signaled their support of us, and (I think) more people here, than in Boston, took some trouble to tell us that they agreed with us in wanting to boycott Aruba. We also heard some interesting remarks. One woman said that she goes to this same travel show every year to tell Aruba that she had no plans to return. She said that he had to cancel one planned trip, and had to forfeit a deposit of $150. When she called to ask if she could get it back, she said, Aruba began a pattern of what she called harassment … making nuisance calls to her from Aruba, threatening, and being generally offensive. She said that she had complained to the FBI about it. Five or six travel agents took our literature and expressed sympathy. Two of them told us that the Aruban ‘delegation’ was annoying all of the other participants; they were loud, noisy, and generally were unpopular and clashed with the others there. Some of us went into the travel show arena (in ‘civilian’ clothes, of course), and their reports confirmed what we were told by some other people: Aruba had more floor space than any other delegation at the event, and yet its booths were getting very little interest. This is a subjective opinion, of course, but the consensus was that almost nobody seemed interested in finding out information on Aruba. One woman who had taken our literature earlier in the day told us that the Aruban booths were nearly deserted, and that she was there when one couple wandered over. One of the workers there began giving them ‘sales talk,’ and she intervened, telling the couple “Don’t go to Aruba, it isn’t even safe. Go ask those people outside (meaning us), and they’ll tell you all about it.” She said that the worker for Aruba just gaped at her. Later on, she said, the couple went over to her privately and said they had decided not to go to Aruba. (Incidentally, except for two or three ‘exotic dancers,’ the staff at the Aruban booths were not Aruban. They appeared to be from a U.S. travel agency. One of us, 10061096, said he thought that even the dancers seemed to be depressed by the lack of activity at the Aruban exhibit.) Yet another person said she had a timeshare in Aruba but would never use it again. One woman and her daughter strolled over to us, said that they had heard about Natalee, and on the basis of what they heard would never go to Aruba. As in Boston, some people asked whether Natalee had been found yet. But I think that most people who reacted to our signs and literature remembered the case, and many said they thought there had been some sort of cover-up. Certainly the broad details were remembered, and many recognized Natalee’s picture. We got quite a number of gestures of support for our cause, and most people who responded seemed to agree that a boycott was a good idea. Some of them mentioned that they had read the book by Beth, Dave, or both. We will be trying to send photos later on. On Sunday (tomorrow), only NM and Richard will be able to take part. (Richard)

I’m a doubting thomas; so I guess I would not have believed it unless I saw it.
If the lack of interest and activity at the ARUBA booths is any indication of which way tourism is headed; I would liken it to jumping from a perfectly good airplane without a parachute…..STRAIGHT DOWN.

Make sure you read the entire PA report from Richard.

Aruba Tourism actually lost a sale right in front of their eyes.

And Richard’s interview is also very interesting and he makes several important points.

    25. JusticeforNatalee on November 19th, 2007 4:50 pm

I stayed at the PA protest just for a short time but did notice this:

Many people remembered Natalee and some came right out with things like, “I won’t go to Aruba, ” almost immediately.

You see, Aruba has a serious image problem, and many American tourists see that something stinks to high Heaven.

    26. Maggie on November 19th, 2007 5:12 pm

Funny they send these scantly clad girls to a booth to get tourism. I guess they are trying to attract men and the wives will tag along.

Remember the nasty comments about how Natalee was dressed. Come Dance in Aruba and
” go sit on the beach alone to look at stars at 3am” The same thing they use to lure people to come is what they use against them if they are a victim.

Gabe, if Arubans spent as much time holding those accountable for what happened to Natalee as they do spreading bs, covering up and complaining about a boycott, this would’ve been over 2 years ago. Remember Natalee Holloway disappeared in the company of Joran, Deepak and Satish. No body, no case.

Great work, Vicki, Richard, 1006, NM, Jodi and Elaine!!

    27. Jodi on November 19th, 2007 5:31 pm

A big thank you to those who attended the Travel Show in PA, for taking time out of your personal lives to be a voice for Natalee…and to Vicki for all your hard work and dedication. I am so proud to be able to help. What an amazing group of people this tradgey has brought together!

    28. Richard on November 19th, 2007 6:14 pm

Hi, everyone, and thanks for the good words. To be slammed by Gabriel Leo is perhaps the greatest praise for our efforts that anyone could get.

      Just a few more things:

      1. First, I was a very minor player in this episode; the key work was done by Vicki and 10061096, whose lavish hospitality deserves more praise than I can give it at this time.

And also, of course, all kudos to Jamie for her sending the signs and sweatshirts.

This leads to another point, which I forgot to mention in the interview but needs to be posted:

      2. We had at least three offers of donations. One lady who pulled over in her car to see what we were all about scanned the info sheet that we gave her and promptly pulled out a $5. We were startled (at least I was), but we declined to take any money.

And if Vicki or anyone has received contributions, my belief is that they should go first and foremost to help pay for the return of Jamie’s posters to her, and the initial cost of her shipping them. These costs were substantial, and my understanding is that these beautiful signs can be used for any and every such event.

Thanks a million, Vicki and Jamie, and to anyone else whom I’m leaving out. These signs are just so beautiful … without them, any such event will lack focus, and people will wonder what is going on. So if anyone wants to help “the cause” in any way, my guess is that the costs of shipping these signs is the big issue right now.

      3. Some people asked if we were related to the family. As in Boston, we took pains to point out that we had no formal connection to the family, and that they did not pay us to appear or even ask us to appear, and that we did/do not speak for them.

We are simply regular Americans who (I think) are appalled at what Aruba has done (and not done), disgusted that nobody in our own government is speaking up for justice, and so we are taking up the slack as best we can.

      3. Many people have decried the attention given to Natalee’s case as “rich white girl syndrome” or similar nonsense. My impression (and I was there) is that a high proportion of those people who stopped to talk were blacks … and they were as supportive as anyone else. So there goes that shibboleth.

Also, a lot of the people who expressed sympathy with our goals were travel agents. A few of them agreed that Aruba is NOT the place to send anyone.

Finally, at least as many people waved or gave us the thumbs-up gesture, even though they didn’t stop to chat (remember, the insane traffic patterns in that parking lot made it risky to pull over), as did stop.

To recapitulate: NOT ONE PERSON SAID ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT ARUBA. Even the security workers at the convention center (some, at least) said they thought our cause was good. And some of the travel agents who took part in the travel show said that the people representing Aruba left most of the others peeved at them.

Aruba had six booths, more than anyone else … but judging from what we saw, and what we heard … they accomplished little or nothing except to show that they are becoming the pariah of the Caribbean.

“No justice for Natalee … no tourists for Aruba.”

    29. Richard on November 19th, 2007 6:15 pm

Jodi brings up another important point … except for JusticeforNatalee and her husband, and I (we met in Boston), none of us had met before.

Yet we all worked together effectively.

There is something about Natalee’s cause that breaks down all barriers. I can only echo Jodi’s words: commitment to Natalee’s cause is ennobling.

    30. Skyboxx on November 19th, 2007 6:41 pm

King of Prussia is correct town name. The famous King of Prussia Mall is there. Valley Forge National park is right there. (Between Phoenixville and King of Prussia. There is a convention center there that holds shows, jewelry, computer, gun shows etc. The round building in the back of the picture is the Radisson. More people should quietly protect aruba around the country. I passed on a cruise this year, as the itinerary was a stop in Aruba. Took another cruise instead.

    31. 10061906 on November 19th, 2007 6:43 pm

I really felt important being with the group that I was with on Saturday; knowing that we are united in one cause. I was running on such a high and had such a let down when it was over; almost emotionally drained.
What was not picked up was one elderly gentleman walked over and gave his opinion to me and basically said the same as Dompig. “The three are guilty as hell; they did her in and got rid of her”. I would say that those that responded to Natalee’s plea for justice there ranged in age from about 16 to 75.
Vicki I gave a call to the Convention Center and thanked them for the use of the center and for providing a secured area for us. I’ll send them a note later.
The Banners, shirts and signs that were provided for us were great.

    33. JusticeforNatalee on November 19th, 2007 8:46 pm

I would like to elaborate on what Richard said about
the strong support for Natalee coming from people of all races.

In the span of about five minutes, Richard and I had spoken to two beautiful Black women. They were so compassionate about Natalee and the injustice of it all that it made my eyes mist up.

    34. JusticeforNatalee on November 19th, 2007 9:00 pm

Klaas has posted more pics of the event.
As you can see, the Aruba booth is getting little interest while
      booths nearby have activity.

When will Aruba learn that tourists don’t care about splashy booths and fluff travel pieces?!
When you deny justice to a tourist–your island looks UGLY.

      Nice job guys.

      Hey KLPD….you listening?

The KLPD is proving themselves to be the real Keystone Cops.

Remember when they first came on to the scene and the boards were full of posters proclaiming that the KLPD was for real and they would get to the bottom of this. That they were “the best” and would leave no stone unturned.

Its become a bad joke now. The KLPD is doing nothing but waiting for the Kalpoes not to file their documents and the Dr. Phil case to be dismissed before they declare that the case is ‘cold’. Nice work KLPD….dig a few holes in the VDS yard to make things look like you were working. It was pretty clear from Paulus and Joran joking (per Joran) about your work on the land as well as Paulus’ immediate declaration that nothing was found….that the KLPD was in on the whole thing.

Nice cover-up KLPD. You are the Netherland’s finest!

That is great news about the ship leaving!!!

I found the ideal place for people like “Jim Hanson? and others like him to live. This is so pathetic how these women are treated. Talk about a bunch of bs thought up by men. What kind of &%((*#&% sit around and let women be lashed 200 times for being gang raped.

RIYADH (Reuters) – Saudi Arabia defended on Tuesday a court’s decision to sentence a woman who was gang-raped to 200 lashes of the whip, after the United States described the verdict as “astonishing”.

The 19-year-old Shi’ite woman from the town of Qatif in the Eastern Province and an unrelated male companion were abducted and raped by seven men in 2006.

Ruling according to Saudi Arabia’s strict reading of Islamic law, a court had originally sentenced the woman to 90 lashes and the rapists to jail terms of between 10 months and five years. It blamed the woman for being alone with an unrelated man.

Last week the Supreme Judicial Council increased the sentence to 200 lashes and six months in prison and ordered the rapists to serve between two and nine years in jail.

      You’re right about that… maybe.

We still have some time to go.

Thanksgiving is coming up and if anyone

should be thanking us, it’s them.

They were totally protected, as off limits, during

World Wars 1 and 2. Sure they suffered, but they

stayed entact, unlike many other countries.

I will never forget the stories of how happy they

would be as our (U.S) planes flew over into

Germany. They would all run out, excusing

themselves from the table and run outside to wave!

We took many of their immagrants, mostly during

and after the 1st World War for many were sure

the war would spill into Holland.

They know what they need to do, they just don’t

quite know how BIG of a SPlASH they want to make.

I think they have Natalee, AND I think they found

her dna at the Rocks. Personally, I think they

      should do a jack-knife!!!

But…. Oduber is proud to be an Arawak, Brethren, Free Mason Racist, Human Sacraficing
      Cannibal.

That’s why Vickie says, the Devils Island because you can find more trouble per square inch there than anywhere in the world. They regularly practice pedifillia and insest. But worst of all, is that if they can trick someone that they think or that acts better than them, they are able to steal her spirit and become like her. Live from her life and become strong. Or atleast, that’s the excuse they use for murdering people and eating their flesh.

The Croes – Arawaks. Do you think for one minute they are going to allow a girl to be found alive and for someone to start an investigation into who was behind the kidnapping (Joran and Paulus) besides, she saw Charles Croes and she knew who he was and could tell that he let Paulus take her. Afterall, it was the Crowe family that allowedit. They were more responsible of the corruption at the beginning than anyone.

Them and Little Miss Renhoe – Arawak. I wouldn’t be surprised if there weren’t some film of her doing the monkey dance somewhere. Their Gods are Thirsty and Lustful. The taste of human blood can make you mad. Besides, an Indian doesn’t get that many cuts on his face without goofing up some where… She felt compelled to support the dim wit – Minister of Justice and his father, whom she works for… IMO They probably write for each other.

Personally, I think it may be more of a situation of The Dutch, simply not knowing what to do with a bunch of cannibals. I know what the law says must happen to them and I don’t care if it breaks every secret in their code – They’re guilty and should pay the penalty. All of them. Every single human being that knew what was going to happen to her, everyone that allowed it to happen, even though it was spiritually and morally wrong and everyone that witnessed her death… for the Arawak Nation.

I don’t think the Dutch are going to allow themselves to look THAT tollerant. You got a group of people that are killing people in celebration of strength, virtue and power as a secret underground organizaton who also are politically powerful… that’s a bad combination… shipping in their victims from Columbia, Venezuella, Hondurus, The Netherlands, The United States, anywhere they damn well please?!?!

      I don’t think so………

      Maybe the ship is condescense

and the Dutch are on their way!

      Boycott Aruba!

I hope that this story on Greta’s blog is accurate! But it suggests, to some degree, that they aren’t as certain about where they believe Natalee’s body to be as Art Wood and Tim Miller have led us to think.

If Natalee IS in the ocean, then may God grant that they find her. But I’m not convinced that she is.

      Richard:

They’re going to find all kinds of bodies between Venezeuela and Aruba. Bones, mostly crushed. What I’m interested in is whether the Dutch found Natalee’s body or dna at the Sloots.

I always think about a Turtle Garden, when I think of Natalee. Or I hear those words. If she was buried at the Sloots, they could well find her dna in the dirt. For sure they would be able to detect human blood, even if it was partially decayed and tell if a human being was buried there.

But, I saw a carcass beomg removed and placed in a box… perhaps the dead dog for the blood on the mattress… if not for Natalee.

Surely, if it were the same dog… that is a crime. Trying to frame blackmen for a crime committed by a Dutchman. Just like the disclaimer says, this is so no other black man will be accused of a crime he never committed.

Sounds like this sort of thing happens alot in Aruba. That’s why blacks love Beth. She refused the take the bait.

Heard you did a good job…….

In fact, I heard you were Awesome!!!!!!

      Congrats!

Thanks, but I was a very minor player in this protest. Vicki and Jamie take center stage, and the incredible hospitality of 10061096 made it possible for me to be there.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. At the risk of sounding prosy, let’s be thankful for the news that a ship is headed towards Aruba to search for evidence. No matter what happens, this is testimony to the fact that basic human decency DOES exist.

And let us all remember one thing … this search is the JOB, the MORAL DUTY, of Aruba and the Dutch.

      Who’s doing it? American volunteers….

If Natalee’s remains are found in the water, then clearly my idea of trafficking will be proven wrong. If not, the question will remain.

But if we get answers, then the balance of power is turned. It then becomes our duty to press on the Dutch as much as we can (don’t even waste time expecting truth out of Aruba).

“Vengeance is mine,” sayeth the Lord. Well, at this point I’m more than willing to help Him get it. If we get answers, watch those Dutch scurry to cover their butts.

Let’s remember, also, the cravenness of our own government. Aruba is 80% dependent on American tourism; we have lots of leverage to use on them.

      Did we? Apparently not. Contemptible.

As my song for Natalee goes,
“Fellow Americans, it’s up to me and you.”

And on Thanksgiving, let’s remember (among so many others) the families of Amy Bradley, Johnny Gosch, George Smith … I put these here because these are all people with whom I have worked, or do work.

And let’s give a thought to the many other families who have a loved one missing. In my view, it’s the worst possible crime to experience … it can happen in a second, and leaves a lifetime of anguish and unanswered questions.

Best holiday wishes to all Monkeys, and to all people of good will in the quest for Natalee Holloway and so many others.

Many, many thanks to all of you for your dedication and hard work in supporting Natalee. You are truly dedicated to finding justice for Natalee. I think your appearance and work at the travel shows is certainly worthwhile. Looks like noone is interested in going to Aruba. And don’t get too close to those in costume, might get your eye poked out.

I know we are all thankful for our ship heading to Aruba, let’s hope the Lord is guiding us.

Wishing for all a Happy Thanksgiving. God Bless Our Americans.

I’m happy to see how the US economy is going DOWN the drain. :-) Really…soon you will all learn that you are nothing but a bunch of morons(rednecks) on a BIG piece of land anyway. Americans are all Big-mounth….love war…bad loosers. The only thing I like about US is the bitches, how they scream for real men when they come to Aruba. Good Luck with the rest of your boring lives there while we keep enjoying ours here. :-) Bye Suckers!!!
      __________
SM: Once again we provide this post for all to read to show the inteligence and mentality of some in Aruba.

Want to spend your hard earned $’s on vacation there?

Our economy is not down the drain … there is more wealth in the US than there has ever been. We are not stupid enough to be depended on one thing to survive.

The morons in Aruba best not wish a down swing in US, it will only further affect their tourism.

That would require actual thought and a brain by this commenter to understand.
