The longtime companion of Anna Nicole Smith, Howard Stern, and two psychiatrists were charged on Thursday with conspiring to furnish drugs to the former Playboy playmate in the years before her 2007 death from a prescription medication overdose.

Responsibility? The doctors who prescribed opiates to a drug addict? Howard K Stern arranging for the pills to be put under different names, and sent to addresses all over? hiding Anna in the Bahamas.
The doctors should have sent Anna to rehab! Howard K Stern should have put Anna into Rehab. Instead they fed Anna’s addictions. Yes, they share guilt in her death. Also Daniels death!

Stern’s motive’s were so obvious from the very beginning. He had to have ANS all doped out when they exchanged those fake “wedding” vows on the Sailboat in the Bahamas after her Son Daniel’s death…..it was immediately after she took off to the Bahamas that Larry Birkhead challenged a Paternity Suit since Stern was bogusly trying to assert the child was his. Please! I bet Anna never had sex with Stern even when under the influence….she was just not in to him like that and had told him this many times in all the years he “worked” for her. That man took complete advantage of her and negatively influenced her mind & conducted himself as some kind of evil Svengali.
ANS was continually exploited and Stern wanted complete control and to sit on his ass and live off of her money from her re-vitalized career. Instead, he directly ends up contributing to her Death and denied it all in Court. Scumbag. Looks as if both of those Dr’s will be barred from ever practicing Medicine again after they get out of jail.
The story does give a general feeling of hope that sometimes justice can really be served in the end afterall.

Some of it she brought upon herself. All that vanity composed of surgical reconstructions and boob jobs… Everybody loved her on the outside but she failed herself, on the inside. She was caught in a web of deceit, pornography, prostitution and good, old-fashioned gold-digging. She hated herself and all the money in the world couldn’t change it.
You’re right Howard is evil, but the one that really suffered was her ‘real’ family. The ones that rode that roller coaster, all the way to the end. Her whole life was one tragedy after another and, in my opinion, she made it that way. We chose who we want to be around; unfortunately, she was a terrible judge of character and saw life through lofty eyes, a beautiful body but a ‘wasted’ sense of morals and values.

The chic had the market cornered on the 7 Deadly Sins. She was a hurricane of weaknesses, the perfect storm. Poor Daniel was destined to fail, just look at what he had for a teacher.
Howard is weak. The consumate liar/enabler.
He paved his own road to where he is.
Nobody is perfect, we all fudge a little bit.
When you lie to yourself and others long enough
and hard enough concerning grave matters, you

I agree with your analogy, as well. Howard and these doctors that enabled her out of greed, a spirit of celebrity, jealousy and a longing for power; need to pay for their mistakes, as well. None of us are perfect. That hook is out there for anyone for the taking. But, when you’re a paid professional who is hired to manage a patients’ health or a lawyer who’s in charge of a client’s state of affairs, you take that responsibility seriously. She deserved their help, their devotion and their protection… and got none of it. Instead, she was held captive in a condition that would leave her with a lost sense of willpower that would, ultimately, result in death.
As for Howard, it was all about ‘his’ yaght, his accumulation of wealth at the demise of a beautiful lady that could have been a princess had she had the right people surrounding her. We can all change and we do, everyday. But, that’s, just not possible, when your life is dependent upon a substance that shuts you out from the rest of the world in the state of a stupor totally dependent upon one thing… another swig of that cough syrup to keep you unaware of the dire condition of your life and the loved ones around you.
No doubt, her illness, her mental state and her inability to cope with her problems will become a thing of the past… one day, she will be reunited with her family and she, too, will have a second chance to make the right choices without sin nor the desires of sin, constantly, tearing against her spirituality. Then she will come to an understanding of the true meaning of life… and love.

This is one story that can’t go away soon enough to me.. I thought it already had.. Never figured out why Anna Nicole Smith was famous anyway???
I was happy to see this on CNN last night. Ok, Anna was the one taking the drugs. She was an addict. She surrendered her control to the substance abuse. The people around her let her do this to herself. The doctors were not on drugs, what was their excuse ? Stern, who knows, an enabler who was afraid if he didn’t do what she wanted would get kicked to the curb ?
She could have gone into a private rehab where there was a structure down of the drugs. She should have been helped by these two physicians, not ” helped ” into the grave.
For some reason, maybe it is the little girl who needed her I find this more than pathetic.
ps Some of the drugs were prescribed when she was preggers, what kind of doctor does that ?
You’re right Gram and that was the subject matter on Scared Monkeys when all this was going down… and to think that Stern and his doctor could stand by and let that baby be abused like that. There’s no telling what kind of problems she may have in the future. Thing is: Everybody knows that opium is used for, only, one thing… terminal patients, or drug addicts, that are in so much pain they can’t bear it. The reason why? It shuts down the organs of the body and usually always results in death. To have that substance consumed by a body that is trying to produce the things needed for the fetus is a double strain on the body, as well as the fetus. What this doctor and Howard Stern did was dead wrong.
They’re in DOUBLE trouble!

I think it’s entirely possible that Stern spiked Daniels Coke with cough syrup. I, believe, that was what the argument was about when Anna was overheard crying, “How COULD you?”
No one addicted to drugs would want their children on them. He was on anti-depressants and mood stablizers. The mixture is what killed him.

we know damn good and well Howard had a hand in the death of Daniel, he might not have injected those drugs into that boy but he supplied them, he kept those two faded so he could cash in on the $$$$ I use to watch the Anna Nicole Show on “E” before I came here and I use to trip out on his behavior on the show, then when the baby came and the photos of Nicole and the Baby’s Daddy (name?) were shown, Howard in the back ground looked pissed…me and my hubby use to always talk about…so I am not surprised one bit I will have to research and she is I can find a copy of them somewhere (Google baby)
