John McCain Says that Obama’s Tax Policies are Socialist … Its not About Joe the Plumber, Its About Spreading Your Wealth

Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose.” So is Socialism. If it looks, smells and tastes like socialism … it is socialism. Sadly enough, the hideous actions by the Obama campaign and their minions to silence “free speach” look a lot like Communism and Totalitarianism.

Obama_socialist_mice

Imagine, Joe the Plumber, that would be “John Q. Public” openly targeted for destruction by the main stream media and a political party all because a Presidential candidate Barack Obama is a socialist. What a dark day for America, worse than any credit market crisis could ever be.

Before the Democratic Machine, the LEFT-wing moonbat blogs and the liberal mainstream media decided to make every effort to destroy “Joe the Plumber,” Barack Obama made a simple comment to Joe the plumber that Obama regrets every saying in that he wanted to … “Spread the wealth around.” Because of that political blunder on Obama’s part … Joe the Plumber is public enemy #1 with the LEFT & MSM and is being scrutinized and vetted more than is Barack Obama. We actually now  know more about Joe the Plumber and his personal life that we do Obama. Why is it that the MSM did not take such effort and zeal in to looking into Obama’s birth certificate? They certainly re-questioned John McCain’s birth status during this campaign, why not Obama’s? The answer is just like with “Joe the Plumber”, the MSM is in the tank for Barack Obama and will make every effort to deflect danger and protect their candidate. If that means destroying a private US citizen, i.e. “We the People”, then so be it.

In perfect and predictable lockstep the MSM and the Democratic machine look to muddy the water and deflect attention away from The Obamamessiahs actual socialist words of “spreading the wealth”, and instead try and destroy John Q. Public for having the audacity of asking a question of a Barack Obama policy.

Then we were witness to the 3rd and final Presidential debate (transcript) where “Joe the Plumbers” name was brought up numerous times. While watching the debate many must have thought to themselves, why doesn’t John McCain while having a captive audience and referencing “Joe the Plumber” just come out and say the obvious … Obama’s tax plans are SOCIALISM!!! This is just one of the many head scratching moments when so many Americans wondered why McCain did not call out Obama.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Saturday accused Democratic rival Barack Obama of favoring a socialistic economic approach by supporting tax cuts and tax credits McCain says would merely shuffle wealth rather than creating it.

“At least in Europe, the Socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives,” McCain said in a radio address. “They use real numbers and honest language. And we should demand equal candor from Sen. Obama. Raising taxes on some in order to give checks to others is not a tax cut; it’s just another government giveaway.”

John McCain now suggests that Barack Obama’s tax plan is socialist. Make no mistake out it, providing tax breaks to 95% of America when 90% of Americans do not pay taxes is redistribution of wealth, i.e. socialism.

Obama has said his tax policies would cut payments for 95 percent of working Americans, while increasing them only for families making more than $250,000 a year. McCain has argued that 40 percent of Americans don’t pay income taxes, either because they are seniors or don’t meet minimum earnings thresholds, so the only way to cut their taxes is to give them various credits.

“In other words, Barack Obama’s tax plan would convert the IRS into a giant welfare agency, redistributing massive amounts of wealth at the direction of politicians in Washington,” McCain said in the radio address.

The Gateway Pundit provides several updates and links showing the concerted efforts of the LEFT to destroy a private US citizen who dare ask a Presidential candidate a simple questions regarding his tax plan.,

the best one i heard last week was from one of the dem’s talking heads. they were blaming the whole “joe the plumber” debacle on senator mccain. they claim that “joe the plumber” wasn’t vetted properly by the mccain ticket! what total idiots to think that it’s now the responsibility of the republican party to vet every citizen who may ask a question of a democrat candidate.

why do democrats have such a difficult time admitting to making a mistake? it was definitely a slip of the tongue when obama admitted he has a socialist agenda. (something many educated people have been pointing out for over a year now).

Sen McCain is using a good solid line of attack which should have been addressed when he had the ears of 50 million Americans.

Instead, he chose to conjure “Joe the Plumber” out of the magic lantern to do his work for him.

This technique of differing political and philosophical differences works so much better. Never to late, I say.

    3. Kay Zee Ess on October 18th, 2008 11:25 am

By the way, how do you set out to “destroy” something(Joe the plumber) that doesn’t exist in the first place?

    4. katablog.com on October 18th, 2008 11:35 am

The very unfortunate part of politics is the notion to attack the person instead of attacking the issue. It’s found in discussions everywhere when people remain rather uninformed about issues or can’t answer to an issue brought up.

Joe brought up a great question which reflects the difference between McCain’s and Obama’s tax plans. It also demonstrates what could happen to small businesses, the life blood of the American economy and yet the liberal left and the Obama campaign want to deflect that discussion and have you focus on an ordinary American citizen.

It would be so healthy if we could address the issues. And yes, Obama’s citizenship IS an issue, not an attack on the person. Because our laws demand that only natural born citizens are allowed to be President of the USA, then American voters have the absolute right to be assured that indeed anyone in line to be president meet those requirements (whether its the presidential candidate, a running mate or the Senate Pro Temp and all others in line).

The fact that Joe Biden and Obama would then take to the campaign trail and make fun of a citizen who dared to ask Obama a question is the sickest thing I’ve seen yet.

To the people who always refer to the web site Fact Check.

I would go to this site and read whatever was said. I got the impression that FACT CHECK leaned toward Obama, now I know why.

Obama help fund this from the Annenberg Foundation he was over.

FactCheck.org is a nonprofit website[1] that describes its own goal as “[reducing] the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics.” In its efforts, FactCheck claims it is nonpartisan.[2] It is a project of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, and is funded primarily by the Annenberg Foundation.[2]

      Another Joe the Plumber..

Joe the Plumber, of Knoxville, that is, says he’s less concerned about whether he gets a tax break if his customers still can’t afford to hire him.

Still, Joe Shanks, a licensed master plumber and owner of Joe’s Plumbing Service in the Cedar Bluff area, has followed the presidential campaigns the same as his much-quoted counterpart in Toledo, Ohio, who questioned Democratic Sen. Barack Obama over his proposed tax hike for those who make more than $250,000 a year.

Shanks said his business, which he jointly runs with his wife, Catherine, doesn’t earn the couple nearly that much income.

Especially lately, with business at about half what he usually handles, thanks to a flailing national economy that has left would-be customers skittish about hiring him.

“I can’t make money right now,” explained Shanks, who’s been in business for 25 years. “I’ve had to lower my prices just to get the job. I’m going for that cheap dollar – I have to.”

Shanks, an independent voter, said he’s supporting Republican Sen. John McCain, citing the official’s career experience in office as the deciding factor for him.

“I’d just feel more comfortable, confident and safe with McCain,” the plumber said. “McCain’s been there. Obama’s just not that experienced.”

Shanks likened the decision to a homeowner in need of a plumber – would you hire the guy who just got his trade license, he asked, or a seasoned professional?

More details as they develop online and in Friday’s News Sentinel.

#2, Can’t wait to take your money and give it to others. Time to fork it over.

#4 is correct. Why is it that people are looking to destroy Joe the Plumber rather than answer his question? Its a legitimate one.

No one has the right to take one’s wealth and spread it to other undeserving people. No one. When such a practice begins, the next problem becomes who makes that decisions and at what point does the bar get lowered to. Why don’t we take away wealth from people who make $100K or $75K, they make more than people who only make $20K.

Let’s all just make the same amount. We will average all the salaries and equally share even though we all don’t work as hard to earn it.

      BRILLIANT!

You will be happy to learn that the New York Times does actually know how to do a little investigative research. Too bad it’s an attempt to dig up dirt on McCain’s 16 year old daughter and get her school mates “impressions” of Cindy McCain as a mother. Do tell, what does this have to do with a Presidential campaign?

Now if they could just go digging for a non-partisan confirmation that Obama is indeed a US citizen. Oh that’s right, don’t want to ask that, he might sic his attack dogs on them.

    11. MBS on October 18th, 2008 2:17 pm

Maria Cardona, former advisor to Hilary Clinton and current Obama supporter, stated on Fox News that Obama’s tax plan will mean higher taxes for small businesses GROSSING $250k or more per year. Others on the internet have tried to say it only affects those netting at least $250k, big difference. $250k in gross revenues is not that much, I have a hard time believing 98% of small businesses make less than that, as Obama’s campaign claims.

    12. MBS on October 18th, 2008 2:24 pm

Anyone who has looked at Obama’s plans for spending our tax money knows that there is no way he will stop at raising taxes on those making more then $250k, once he gets started, he’ll either have to start printing money, or raise taxes on most working Americans.

      Hey Comrades,
Why question the powers of the government? You know they are always right and we, the stupid idiots, should never dare to question them. Just pray that “the one” will use his vast experience and financial knowledge to lead those of us in these 57 states plus 2 more still clinging to our guns and religion. Trust that between the tutelage of Reverend Wright, Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson and William Ayers & wife “the one” will guide us all to the promise land where they will spread around the milk and honey to all.

Kay Zee Ess: explain to us oh wise one why you believe that Joe the Plumber doesn’t exist.

Sam’s middle name is Joseph. Surely you’ve heard of families like mine where Dad and Son have the same first names so one of them goes by the middle name.

McCain didn’t “conjure” up Joe, Obama walked right into Joe’s neighborhood and chose to take Joe’s question.

Don’t you really get it? Joe the Plumber is an idea, a philosophy that demonstrates the difference in two men’s tax plans and now also demonstrates the vitriol the left will spit when someone dares to question “the one”. They did it to Sarah Palin and now they are doing it to Joe. Why on earth don’t people like you Kay Zee Ess stay with the question and the issue instead of going off on the person?

Is Joe really that threatening to you?

katablog.com is good at selective reading and chooses his or her arguments accordingly, not letting rational thought get in the way.

My first post on this thread congratulates Sen McCain and his better late than never serious approach to Obama’s economic policy for the nation and should have been the topic for all 3 debates let alone the last one.

Yes, Sen McCain(or someone directing his campaign) did indeed “conjure” up a “Joe the plumber”(based on a real character) supposedly representing the workers of the nation who are inspired to own their own business.

Problem is, for every one “Joe” that Sen McCain creates, there are 10 more “Tom, Dick and Harry’s” representing our nation’s workers also who do not fare well at all in this economy, their jobs being lost or shifted overseas so they can buy the goods that they used to make if only they had the money. Health, Social Security and the socialist-welfare-style bailout fiasco notwithstanding, “Tom, Dick and Harry” also see “Joe” as a, excuse the plumber’s pun here, pipe dream that McCain is NOT serious about.

I will repeat my original post so that hopefully katablog.com will actually read it this time, to wit,

“Sen McCain is using a GOOD SOLID LINE of attack which SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADDRESSED when he had the ears of 50 million Americans.

Instead, he chose to conjure “Joe the Plumber” out of the magic lantern to do his work for him.

This technique of DIFFERING political and philosophical differences WORKS SO MUCH BETTER. NEVER TOO LATE, I say.”

I had to capitalize the important words so they may be more recognizable to kat and others who seem not to get the gist of the post as it IS relevant to the topic at hand. Stay with the question, indeed. A laugh riot again.

Not so much “say it ain’t so, Joe” as it is
      “Say, so it ain’t Joe.”

    20. rightknight on October 19th, 2008 1:17 am

Without a DoD Security Clearance, Barry will be useless in foreign affairs or in Commander in Chief roles. Unless he is ushered in under a heavily tilted to the left House and Senate, the FBI background investigation of all the ‘missing stuff’ along with fraternizing with anti-American groups, taking heavy drugs, affiliations with criminals, lying, etc., would likely deny that access into the Security World. Of course, if there were any questions about his mysterious background, the then left- loaded congressional offices could override the DoD/FBI findings and give the guy privileges denied others. Time and delays of his honest and open job application data are on his side.

    21. Kay Zee Ess on October 19th, 2008 6:32 am

Not a freamer but I do find that Sen McCain can pull through this with the little time left before the election, but he needs the proverbial scalpel more than an ave to garner votes.

What I feel is that those around him are and have been inept in doing what was necessary, sending the good Senator on one too many wild goose chases when the issues at hand were certainly good meat to counter any of Sen Obama’s so-called “plans of change”.

That being said, should Sen McCain fail to achieve the goal of being president, I feel that it is incumbent upon the Republican party(“necessary (for someone) as a duty or responsibility; morally binding; “it is incumbent on them to pay their own debts”, for those interpreting the word incumbent the wrong way), particularly those brave men and women who voted AGAINT the faux bailout, to start from day one to structure a platform so in 2012 there can be no denying that they are serious about saving the country, putting the USA first, as it were.

Read again the headline of this thread “John McCain Says that Obama’s Tax Policies are Socialist … Its not About Joe the Plumber, Its About Spreading Your Wealth”. This should have been heralded from the start after the Repulican convention(or before) and greater momentum would have followed in my estimation.

      Just a thought.

    22. Kay Zee Ess on October 19th, 2008 6:35 am

Too many cobwebs, the first sentence of my previous post SHOULD HAVE READ:

      Thank you.

Kay: so because I ask a question about something you said – then it’s selective reading? Attacking the person again instead of answering the question?

      Here’s something else you said

Problem is, for every one “Joe” that Sen McCain creates, there are 10 more “Tom, Dick and Harry’s” representing our nation’s workers also who do not fare well at all in this economy, their jobs being lost or shifted overseas so they can buy the goods that they used to make if only they had the money.

      katablog.com,

my curt response was a defensive and apropros reaction to your attempted slam at me, ie

“Kay Zee Ess: explain to us OH WISE ONE…”
      and
“Why on earth don’t PEOPLE LIKE YOU Kay Zee Ess…”

kata, if you can’t withstand the criticism yourself, then I suggest that you refrain from your vain and lame attempts to criticize and mock someone when you apparently don’t understand what is indeed being written.

As for Obama’s plan, I also suggest you check out both of the candidate’s platform instead of asking someone who wanted BOTH Sen McCain and Sen Obama to lay out their proposals to the American people like they should have in the 3 debates that they had.

Sadly, Sen Mccain did not do so, instesd choosing to waste valuable time with his fable of “Joe the Plumber” and his floating in the hot-ayers balloon.

Sen McCain is a straight-up guy and war-hero and should have been allowed to be himself through the whole campaign. William Crystal was right, and had his suggestion been followed, he would be in a better spot than he is now. He can still pull it out of the fire, though, if he stays himself.

So want #24 video to not be a red herring. Annenberg factcheck

Kay Zee Ess: I’m sorry you aren’t getting it. Joe the Plumber is not a fable. I AM Joe the Plumber and so is every small business in America. Joe the Plumber stands for US. His hypothetical question represents every business that pulls in revenues (I trust you know that revenues don’t go in the business man’s pocket) of $250,000 a year. AFTER we pull in that money, we have to pay our workers, rent, utilities, suppliers, workers’ taxes and other overhead. IF we walk out the door with $50,000 a year, we consider ourselves damn lucky – but Obama is planning to increase taxes on those businesses with REVENUES of $250,000. We can’t and won’t take the risk of a small business so we can take home less than $50,000 and Obama can spread our hard earned wealth around.

Just call me: going out of business if Obama is elected.

    28. dePlume on October 19th, 2008 4:15 pm

Barack Obama is one-dimensional. Same mild monotone throughout his speeches. What you see, it not what you get; and we don’t know what we are going to get with an Obama Presidency.

He’s an unknown. This is a concern. With each new facet to his character comes a new question—usually unanswered. Joe asked a question; received a shocking answer, followed by the character assassination of the “average Joe.” Obama is the head of the “Intimidation Party” and the Media Left(overs.)

There will be no money to dole out. We are deeply in debt. Plans to use funding from the Iraq War will net nothing, if we are currently borrowing the funds. Obama will be playing with funny-money. You can’t run a business like that, and operating the Government in a similar fashion would be a rolling disaster.

I do blame the Democrats. They had the “last, best chance” to save this and us. Congress didn’t do it; Congressional members took funding and smoothed it over until the whole thing erupted. Pelosi is still promising to throw money at the problems. We are at the edge of the cliff, thanks to Frank, Dodd, Pelosi, and a host of others.

Obama is the tipping-point. If he gets elected, the “gimme-guys” will cheer. The rest of us will be busy, trying to keep some of what is left of our nickels. California is a prime example of the expense of “new ideas.” They want more money. Inefficiency, leftist policies, and we have to pay? Suck it up, California.

      Call me “hunkered-down.”

“I AM Joe the Plumber and so is every small business in America.”

No, you are not. You never were “Joe the plumber”. Someday you may come to realize that or you may not. The smoke and mirrors that you are identifying with is a false symbol.

If “Joe” was half serious, he would have been industrious enough to get his license by now. As you know yourself, being a small business, you get your own by your own efforts.

He is NOT every small business man or woman.Look in the mirror and you will find who the REAL strength of small business America is and it ain’t “Joe”.

“Just call me: going out of business if Obama is elected.”

I am willing to guess that you are going to have a lot of other options other than going out of business under Senator Obama or Sen McCain should either of them win.

One example being when the SBA set up programs to help small businesses like yours expand, why was it that Fortune 500 companies sucked up the till and left the real small businesses out left to dry? I highly doubt that will continue under a new administration on either side. Small businesses will be encouraged vigorously from both sides of the political spectrum, especially during this economic crisis, and you will profit from it, so don’t pack it in just yet, just tell “Joe” to get his license and get to work like you, me and others with businesses had to.

As a small business, just as a big one, we use whatever resources are available to us, and this is a great time to be a small business exactly because of the economy and the resources that will be afforded us.

I appreciate your contribution to this post, katablog.com and congratulate your industrious American spirit. All I am saying is that there is no gloom and doom on the horizon that we as ONE NATION and PEOPLE can’t handle regardless the outcome of this election.

Joe the Plumber is important for his contribution
of the revealing question, not for Joe’s credentials.
Obama replied with the standard Socialist’s creedo

the effects of stealing one person’s earnings and
giving them to another. Barry is under the same

What is the next step after Socialism? I think we can look for that step in a few years after we get government sponsored banks and everything we need and use. It could be a step away from just working for the government and getting “what you really need” according to their standards.

Joe the Plumber (It’s Sam you want to focus on for some reason) is a single dad – yes, I can understand why he hasn’t yet finished his apprenticeship. Due to money, kids and work, it took me until age 40 to finish my 4 year degree. And yes, I am Joe the Plumber. I’m a person from very humble beginnings who has worked long and hard to achieve what I have. I’m now just years away from the retirement life my husband and I have worked hard to achieve – a time when we can spend more time just together and travel more. And yes, we will both close down our businesses early if necessary because we aren’t in a place in our life where we are willing to work hard so that others may achieve the American dream we worked for.

You can’t encourage people to work vigorously for other people! It doesn’t work. It’s been tried over and over. People only put forth their hard work when they believe they will attain a better life style for themselves and their families.

The simple straight forward reason small businesses will never flourish
under socialism is that they become the government’s businesses
instead. Ultimate control is in the government’s hands, therefore
it becomes their business. Under the big umbrella of
government control it is easier to lump all the formerly ‘small
businesses’ into a homogenous block (kinda like the Soviet Bloc).
The danger of a ‘Baroc Bloc’ looms large. Hiring him to spread
our wealth around (make that now his wealth) is
      not good for the Country.

in March,2007 the Cherokee Nation evicted all free men & women (anyone of african descent) from the nation and all names were removed from the Dawes Roll. the Cherokee has decided that these people have degraded the integrity of their nation with drugs, alcohol, crime.
getting back to this election, if barry is elected, our nation will be degraded further than it now is. the free men and women now want reparation (remind you of what is happening now)?
