Dutch Producer Hans Pos: Movie on Disappearance & Possible Murder of Natalee Holloway in Aruba

A  Dutch producer, Hans Pos, of the Shooting Star Film Co. has announced plans for a movie and looks to capitalize and exploit the 2005 case of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway in Aruba. Why do we say exploit? Pos has announced that the film will be “loosely based” on the events that took place in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

AMSTERDAM — Dutch producer Hans Pos of the Shooting Star Film Co. has announced plans for a feature film loosely based on the 2005 disappearance and possible murder of American student Natalee Holloway on Aruba, one of the islands in the Dutch Antilles.

Pos will base the film, which he also will direct, on the crime novel “Vuurkoraal,” by Dutch journalist Annet de Jong. Screenwriter Simon de Waal is working on the adaptation. Pos plans to release the film in 2009.

Dutch film to dramatize case of missing teen

However, there do seem to be two  positive aspects to a “loosely” based movie being made. One, the press release referenced the following, the 2005 disappearance and possible murder of American student Natalee Holloway on Aruba. Two, it will once again bring the story back into the public eye in the Netherlands and continue to haunt and follow Joran Van der Sloot.

UPDATE I: The ‘Holloway-adaptation’ will most probably not be shot on Aruba but on Curaçao

The ‘Holloway-adaptation’ will most probably not be shot on Aruba but on Curaçao, says the production office in Amsterdam. Producer Pos had already filmed the movie Baby Blue there together with the murdered Dutch film-maker Theo van Gogh. Whether he will use the same local Curaçaoan team, is not clear as yet.

Ever since crime reporter Peter R. de Vries filmed the suspect Joran van der Sloot with a hidden camera, the Holloway-case has received a lot of attention from the Dutch public.

Aruba: Large fraud in VCB Security (Van Cromvoirt) … Remember that name from the Natalee Holloway Investigation

In an article from Amigo.com, Grote fraude bij VCB Security, VCB Security in Aruba has committed “large” fraud. If this company name and its owner William Cromvoirt sound familiar, they should. His son, Geoffrey van Cromvoirt, was held in connection for a period of time in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Interesting how the spot light always seem to come back around.

English translation can be found HERE.

ORANJESTAD – The security company with 130 employees VCB Security is bankrupt in all likelihood by fraud committed by the owner himself. It alleges the former director Suan Sweetnam in a letter to all those involved directly or minister in which he argues that owner William Cromvoirt money from customers has improperly spent. “We’re talking about millions of tons welgezegd who have disappeared from the treasury,” said Sweetnam.

Employees withdrew earlier in the bell when it appeared that they had received no salary and whether too little had been paid. They were back to the line.

Natalee Holloway Disappearance: Dutch Journalist Peter R. De Vries Nominated for 2 Emmy Awards

Peter R. de Vries, the Dutch crime journalist, who has covered the story of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway was nominated for two Emmies. A rough English translation can be found HERE. De Vries brought much attention back to the Natalee Holloway case when he claimed the bombshell news that he had solved the Natalee Holloway case. DeVries undercover taping of suspect Joran Van der Sloot shed a new light into the mind set of Joran when it was obvious that he did not think he was being taped. The result, a confession and admissions by Joran Van der Sloot that an all too willing Aruban court system was willing to dismiss.

Portugal Officials Open Missing Madeleine McCann Case File … Detectives Lied about DNA Evidence

Madeleine McCann went missing on May 3, 2007 while her family was Madeleine_McCannvacationing in Praia da Luz, Portugal. The Portuguese police name Maddy’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann suspects in her disappearance.

Now after all this time and an investigation that provided no answers as to the whereabouts of Madeleine McCann, the Portuguese police are releasing Maddy’s file containing almost 30,000 pages of evidence from the investigation into the disappearance of  the little British girl. Presently, the case is closed, Portuguese prosecutors announced on July 21 that they were shelving the case due to lack of evidence.

The case of missing Madeleine McCann was a fiasco from day one. The mistakes, errors and bungling by Portuguese police put the investigation on par with that of the Natalee Holloway case in Aruba. According to released documents,Portuguese detectives lied to Gerry McCann about DNA evidence three days before they interviewed them and made them suspects in their daughter’s disappearance. It is obvious from the outset that the police looked to pin Madeleine’s disappearance on the parents as cops claimed this room contained the “smell of death” and traces of Maddie’s blood — allegations scientists found completely unfounded.

But detectives went on to tell Mr McCann, during an eight hour interrogation, that his daughter’s DNA had been found in the boot of the vehicle, which was rented more than three weeks after she vanished.

A friend of the couple said: “It was pretty clear they were seeking a confession and were prepared to do this (put forward false information) to achieve that.

“Serious questions need to be asked about why this was put to Gerry as fact. It was sloppy at best and deliberately manipulative at worst.

“A number of senior officers went down the route of making assumptions and suppositions and trying to force a confession to something that didn’t happen.”
