Joe Biden Gaffe Shows he Needs a History Lesson … FDR led when market crashed … Oops, it was Hoover and No to Clean Coal
The Obama – Biden Odd Couple are at it again.
The Biden Gaffe-o-Meter has been working overtime these days. Biden praised Democratic President FDR and said today’s leaders should take a lesson from the history books and follow fellow Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt’s response to a financial crisis. Rather than taking a lesson from a history books, maybe Obama’s pick for VP should in fact read a history book. Maybe one say, regarding the stock market crash in 1929. The hell with reading a book, just do a google search and read the Wiki. It was not FDR who resided over the stock market crash, it was Herbert Hoover.
“When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened,’” Barack Obama’s running mate recently told the “CBS Evening News.”
Except, Republican Herbert Hoover was in office when the stock market crashed in October 1929.
Possibly even more comical that Biden’s blunder when it came to who was in office during the stock market crash of 1929, was the following comment regarding instilling confidence in what a leader knows and communicating it to the people. I guess its safe to say, by Biden’s own definition, that since Biden seems to know nothing regarding the crash … he instills no confidence either.
“Part of what being a leader does is to instill confidence, is to demonstrate what he or she knows what they are talking about and to communicating to people … this is how we can fix this,” Biden said.
Ace of Spades reiterates the fact that the “Dangerously Unprepared Vice Presidential Candidate Embarrasses Himself With Steady Stream of Ignorant, Dishonest Gaffes”. Obama knew that Biden was a walking, talking gaffe machine and still chose him as his VP candidate. We already knew Biden was an accident waiting to happen; however, it speaks volumes as to Obama’s decision making ability. No to clean coal, hmm, the voters of Pennsylvania should find that factoid interesting especially since Obama claims he was for it.

Biden’s Comment on Obama’s Email Ad Against McCain, “I thought it was Terrible” … Joe Biden … I was against the Obama email ad, before I was for it.
Joe Biden … I was against the Obama email ad, before I was forced to say I was for it.
The Obama camp knew when they picked Joe Biden to be their VP candidate that he was a loose cannon and prone to off the wall ad lib comments. Biden is a sound bite waiting to happen. First Joe told Barack Obama, “hands off my guns.” Now it appears that Biden during an interview with Katie Couric has commented on Obama’s smear ad against McCain and the fact that he does not use email; “I thought it was terrible”.
Asked about the negative tone of the campaign, and this ad in particular, during an interview broadcast Monday by the “CBS Evening News,” Obama’s running mate, Sen. Joe Biden, said he disapproved of it.
“I thought that was terrible, by the way,” Biden said.
Asked why it was done, he said: “I didn’t know we did it and if I had anything to do with it, we’d have never done it.”
VIDEO (go to 4:10 where he says he thought the McCain E-mail ad about his good friend John McCain was “terrible)
What is comical is the fact that SNL performed a skit this past weekend that portrayed John McCain approving political ads whether they were factually correct or not. That skit was supposed to be satire, see VIDEO here. Granted, the skit is funny but check out Obama’s actual campaign and what Biden said during his interview. The reality in the Obama campaign is Biden does not know who was approving their ads. When Couric asks whether Barack Obama did, Biden does not answer. SNL may offer you satire … Obama ads offer a glimpse of reality as to who approves ads. (4:35 point of the interview). It would appear that SNL got the candidates mixed up in their skit, shocker.
Was this a gaffe by Biden or just an honest personal answer to a wrong he saw done to a friend? As Red State discusses, exactly how is a candidate not aware of the political ads that are being released? Whatever the case may be, the Obama camp later that day released a statement as they could not trust Biden to comment and back tracked on Biden’s words toward The Chosen One.
Late Monday, Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton issued a statement from Biden. In it, Biden said he “was asked about an ad I’d never seen” and was “reacting merely to press reports.”
Biden said that, as he said in the interview, there was nothing “intentionally personal” in the criticism of McCain’s views.
“Having now reviewed the ad, it is even more clear to me that given the disgraceful tenor of Sen. McCain’s ads and their persistent falsehoods, his campaign is in no position to criticize, especially when they continue to distort Barack’s votes on an issue as personal as keeping kids safe from sexual predators,” Biden said.

Biden Tells Obama, Hands Off His Guns … Biden Clinging to his Guns but not During the Primaries
Suddenly Joe Biden is a defender of the Second Amendment? The drag of the VP Democratic ticket is telling Obama what to do and hands off his guns. Joe Biden being a proponent of the Second Amendment is almost laughable or as Red State comments, “Joe Biden’s risible claims to be a defender of the Second Amendment.” So Biden is sent to the Virginia coal mine country, the people who cling to their guns and bibles, to tell them that Obama is not the gun owners worst enemy … HAHAHA!!! Biden states, “if he tries to fool with my Beretta …”, what does Biden know about Obama’s gun control that Obama is not telling us?
I guarantee you, Barack Obama ain’t taking my shotguns. So don’t buy that malarkey,” Mr. Biden said. “They’re going to start peddling that to you.”
Mr. Biden told the crowd, referring to his arms and then to Mr. Obama. “If he tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem. I like that little over and under, you know? I’m not bad with it.”
And then on to one of his standard lines: “So give me a break. Give me a break.”
Even the Political Machine at AOL notices the words “ain’t” and “malarkey” as Democratic code words to talk to the peasants and little people. Why is the Democrat Second Amendment, NRA crowd important … maybe because Republican VP pick Sarah Palin is a pistol packing, Moose hunting, lifetime member of the NRA. The gun issue may become a very important swing topic and decide the outcome in states like Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
Joe Biden has received an “F” with the NRA and it would seem that Joe Biden is out of touch as Obama claims about Biden when it comes to the internet and the comprehension of internet search engines or You Tube. How soon Biden has forgot his recent comments when he was running for the Democratic nomination.
However, during the Democratic Primary Debates Joe Biden’s answer was quite different when it came to the Second Amendment and a right to bear arms. Watch Biden’s response to a gun owner during the debates.
Michelle Malkin reminds us of another Democrat that tried to falsely be pro-gun and failed miserably at it. The pictures of John Kerry with a gun are comical.

Joe Biden: Paying Higher Taxes is a Patriotic Act … Biden Compares Taxes to Charity & Patriotism
Since when have paying taxes been considered charity? Biden tries to pass off big government as Patriotism. Unbelievable. Welcome to Patriotism, Democrat style … wearing a flag pin not patriotic while paying higher taxes is patriotic. Welcome to a glimpse of what it will be like in an Obama Administration.
Obama, is that a flag pin on your uniform?
What else would a tax and spend liberal say? According to Democrat VP candidate Joe Biden, “paying higher taxes is a patriotic act”. Biden discussing raising taxes while his Presidential running mate is stating that he will not be raising taxes on Americans. This coming from the Democratic Party and ticket that has previously stated that we are not supposed to question people’s patriotism. These are the same people that said that wearing a flag pin was not a true sign of patriotism, yet some how paying higher taxes is. AMAZING!!! So I guess Biden’s philosophy is that those that pay low taxes would be unpatriotic? Wouldn’t that be the middle class then?
Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden said Thursday that paying more in taxes is the patriotic thing to do for wealthier Americans. In a new TV ad that repeats widely debunked claims about the Democratic tax plan, the Republican campaign calls Obama’s tax increases “painful.”
Noting that wealthier Americans would indeed pay more, Biden said: “It’s time to be patriotic … time to jump in, time to be part of the deal, time to help get America out of the rut.”
So let’s get this straight, Joe Biden has given in charity an average of $369 a year for the past decade or about .02% of his income while he tells Americans they need to pay more taxes or they are not Patriots?
- The Corner: Equating a legal requirement with patriotism is just plain gross.

Obama Mocks McCain in Ad that McCain does not use Email … Barack, Ever Wonder Why Barack You Classy Guy?
BARACK OBAMA MOCKS JOHN MCCAIN IN A POLITICAL AD FOR NOT USING EMAIL
There you go Obama … who knew that the use of email was a prerequisite for being the President of the United States. Now Obama has two items listed on his resume to be Commander and Chief, community organizer and emailer. By the way Barack … um … the disco ball was a nice effect; however, disco was not around in 1982. Check it out, not a single disco song in the Top 100.
Barack Obama mocked McCain in one of his most recent political ads as a man who is out of touch and a computer illiterate. Making fun of someone because they are old. There’s a winning policy for a battleground state like Florida. Democrats … mean isn’t funny. As a matter of fact, mean is just plain mean.
“Today is the first day of the rest of the campaign,” Obama campaign manager David Plouffe says in a campaign strategy memo. “We will respond with speed and ferocity to John McCain’s attacks and we will take the fight to him, but we will do it on the big issues that matter to the American people.”
The newest ad showcasing their hard line includes unflattering footage of McCain at a hearing in the early ’80s, wearing giant glasses and an out-of-style suit, interspersed with shots of a disco ball, a clunky phone, an outdated computer and a Rubik’s Cube.
So much for that respectful campaign and change that Obama promised everyone. Obama mocks John McCain in the fact that he does not use email so therefore he is out of touch with America and cannot lead. Do you think for one minute that Obama or his people ever wondered or better yet cared why John McCain did not email? Obama is going to regret this intentional gaffe. However, did the Obama people care to find out the reason why McCain does not use email or does that not matter? Is the mocking of McCain sufficient enough for the low lifes at Team Obama. Barack, since you are so in touch with today’s society and the world wide web I guess then toy know about that invention called the search engine? Well if anyone cared to actually wonder why McCain does not use email, read Jonah Goldberg’s article at The Corner and “Wonder no more”.
Well, I guess it depends on what you mean by “extraordinary.” The reason he doesn’t send email is that he can’t use a keyboard because of the relentless beatings he received from the Viet Cong in service to our country. From the Boston Globe (March 4, 2000): McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain’s severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain’s encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He’s an avid fan – Ted Williams is his hero – but he can’t raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.
So let us understand this, Obama makes fun of McCain and calls him out of touch for not using email yet Obama obviously cannot use “google” or any search engines on the internet to find out why? Al Gore invented the internet, wouldn’t he have shown Obama what to do? I guess Barack Obama would call Bill Clinton an out of touch President for only sending 2 emails in 8 years?
The archives of the Bill Clinton presidential library will contain 39,999,998 e-mails by the former president’s staff and two by the man himself. “The only two he sent,” Skip Rutherford, president of the Clinton Presidential Foundation, which is raising money for the library, said on Monday.
So according to Obama because McCain does not email, he is therefore out of touch and not fit to be President. Barack … FDR could not walk, did that diminish is ability to be President in your eyes as well?
Goldberg even goes one better in finding a New York Times article that makes it sound as if McCain is web savvy and can use a mouse which then would make Obama’s ad false.
There is something terribly insidious about the entire Obama campaign lately. Is it any wonder that they are failing in the polls and heading south fast. The attacks on Palin have been beyond the pale. Attacking her and questioning Palin in a manner that no man would ever be. Now after praising McCain’s service to America, Obama mocks McCain for injuries received during that service. First we had lipsticking a pig and all of the Obama apologists claimed it was innocent and had nothing to do with Palin. I guess this is innocent too?
