Barack Obama … Is that a Pledge Pin on your Uniform? Obama Wears Flag Pin in WV

“What’s that on your chest Mister … Its a pledge pin sir … A pledge pin on your uniform!!!” (Animal House, 1978)

Obama, the very candidate who created the flag pin wearing controversy and said he does not wear a flag pin because he lets his ideas show his patriotism is guess what?  Obama now is wearing a flag pin on his lapel while campaigning in West Virginia. So now Obama has had a change of heart and wears the flag pin when he feels the need to pander to voters. So what is Obama’s real position on patriotism? Its is still being determined whether Obama was sporting his special 57 state flag pin. This must be a new “change” in Obama’s 57 State campaign plan.

Barack Obama, who labeled discussion of whether he wears a flag pin in his lapel a false issue in a debate with Hillary Clinton, was wearing one Monday as he campaigned in West Virginia ahead of Tuesday’s primary vote there.

Obama made no reference to the pin, which could be clearly seen in television images and through telephoto lenses as he spoke in Charleston, W. Va., about veterans issue. There was no public comment from his campaign.

Monday morning, pollster and former Bill Clinton adviser Douglas Schoen wrote in an opinion piece in the Wall Street Journal that Obama needs to better define his values heading into the general election. “First, and obviously symbolically, he must start wearing the flag lapel pin,” Schoen wrote. “He simply cannot afford to raise doubts about his patriotism.”

Obama has once again shown that he is nothing more than a typical candidate as there is now a reported flag pin sighting in West Virginia.

Can anyone tell me about any legislation this guy Obama has ever sponsored that got made into law and helped the country ? Or is he just another Democratic “quick fix” to the nation’s woes, like Carter and Bill Clinton ?

I hope that Hillary wins the next 2 states. I hope that when the black guy goes against the old white guy that these 2 states vote for the old white guy. IMO they should let Hillary run now
for the next 8 years to be followed by the black guy for the next 8 years after that. Going with the black guy now is not right IMO.

Well to me this says that this is not the man to lead our country ! he will and does cave in to what things will get him more power and possibly a gain in position .
Not sure if I said this correctly but i sure do
Know that he will not get my vote in the general election there are just way too many negative signs from both of the Dem candidates, looks like Mc Cain is the best choice for 2008 I just believe that Both of them would sell us out for Money or position .

Why are people so distracted by a shiny pin? Are they ferrets?

Who cares. He visited a VA organization so someone probably gave it to him.

But in keeping it fair…in typical politician style, he’s probably gonna start selling the Obama lapel pins on his website to generate some cash.
      ____________
SM: yoyo … Its Obama thats making a big deal about it. Either wear the pin or don’t wear it … BUT he cant have it both ways.

Considering that everyone expects Clinton to win the West Virginia primary (and Kentucky, I believe) by a wide margin, maybe this is a factor.

The media are all saying that Obama has the Democratic race wrapped up anyway.

Of course, that’s what they were saying about Clinton a year or so ago ….

Oh come on,now. We know Mayor “King Richard” Daley gave that pin to Obama. Kind of like fortifying the Chicago Dem Machine.

Uh Oh I heard O’Really is going after Chicago Next….

Oh, phony baloney, why put the pin on…we already know how he really feels about that along with the flag….are people falling for that…what a joke!!

Oh, God—Pin-Schmin!! Obama is about as “Patriotic” and “American” as Osama Bin Laden and Mitsubishi, for Cryin’ Out Loud !!

Point being….looks like if Barrack does get the Dem nod, we are all in trouble if he wins the general election come November.

Obama is inexperienced & dangerous and he lacks strong moral fiber or character. He’s Un-American, Anti-American, Anti-White, Elitist, Extremist….the list goes on and on. Also remember- Wright is Wrong and the gift that keeps on giving.

Yep…! Let’s HOPE for a CHANGE, alright! The change American needs is NOT Barrack HUSSIEN Obama or Hillary Clinton.

      *** McCain ’08 ***

Will Bob Barr be McCain’s Nader?

    12. A New Girl on May 15th, 2008 1:03 am

Yoyo- Just curious…since you don’t seem to like anyone running this year (join the club..it’s not like we have the greatest choices this year)….

      Who are you voting for?

    13. yoyo muffintop on May 15th, 2008 8:22 am

New Girl – I haven’t made up my mind yet.
VP choices should be interesting though. A bad choice by either might seal the deal.

Who do you think McCain might pick?
I hope its not a choice just to win a specific state.
