Tourists, Feel Safe Flying to Aruba??? Air Traffic Controllers on Strike … No Consequences, YET!!!

For those tourists who have ignored the pleas of not going to Aruba until the family of Natalee Holloway is provided justice in the case of their missing and deceased daughter, maybe the following story will appeal to them? Since travelers to Aruba seem to not care of the lack of safety or justice for Natalee Holloway, maybe they will selfishly care about their own safety on their discounted airline ticket. Do you really want trainees working in the air traffic control tower as opposed to the regular air traffic controllers that are on strike? Is the risk/reward really worth the chance? Air traffic controllers on strike … doesn’t that fill everyone with a sense of security.

The government has instituted a lawsuit against the union this morning to put an end to strike of a number of air traffic controllers, who threatened to shut down the airport at 15:00 today.  When this paper went to press we learned, that the lawsuit was extended against all the demonstrating unions (SDA).

The strike of the air traffic controllers associated with the Seppa, doesn’t have consequences yet for the air traffic or the safety, said spokesperson Hendrik Croes.  Management is doing the work for as long as the air traffic controllers are on strike.

Yet? YET!!! That is comforting.

There are enough personnel of the immigration service present or on call for the passport check.  Trained personnel of Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) are standing by to take over in case of emergency.

The civil servants on strike, gathered first in front of  the Julianaschool this morning, and then walked to the courthouse, where the lawsuit of the government against the unions was down for hearing.

Lawrence Alvin Lovett (Lovette) Jr. & Demario James Atwater Charged in the Murder of UNC Coed Eve Carson

Two people have been charged in the senseless murder of UNC coed Eve Carson. 21 year old Demario James Atwater of Durham, NC and 17 year old Lawrence Alvin Lovett Jr. They have both been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Eve Carson. The are still searching for Lovette.

They walk among us … As it turns out, both Atwater and Lovett have criminal pasts and have previously been convicted of felonies. Why are we not surprised? Charge then and then let them loose on an unsuspecting public so that persons like Eve Carson, with all the promise and hopes, who represent the best of our young people are murdered.

Eve Carson murder suspects Demario Atwater and Lawrence Lovett Jr.

Authorities have arrested a second suspect in the murder of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student body president Eve Carson. 17 year old Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr. was arrested

Lovette, 17, surrendered without incident after four hours, Durham Carson_Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jrpolice Lt. Robert McLaughlin Jr. said.

He is the second man police were looking for in their investigation into Carson’s death.

Police released surveillance-camera photos from an ATM last week. The photographs showed a young man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap possibly using one of Carson’s ATM cards, police said. The pictures showed a shape that police said appeared to be a second person in the back seat of the vehicle, which may have been Carson’s SUV.

Chapel Hill Police Chief Brian Curran told reporters they believe Lovette was driving the car in the ATM photos and Atwater was in the back seat. (CNN)

2nd suspect arrested in UNC student’s slaying

According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections Web site, both suspects have criminal pasts. Atwater has been convicted of two felonies, including possession of a firearm by a felon, and Lovett was found guilty of misdemeanor breaking and entering and larceny in January.

Thanks in part to two sets of surveillance camera photos released by authorities, police received hundreds of tips from the community. The photos were taken when someone tried to use Carson’s ATM card — police say they show Lovett at a drive-up teller machine, and Atwater at a convenience store.

NY Governor Eliot Spitzer Resigns in Prostitution Sex Scandal … Kristen aka Ashley Alexandra Dupre & The Emperors Club

It was only a matter of time after the bombshell sex scandal was made public that NY Governor, now ex-Governor, Eliot Spitzer was caught linked to a prostitution ring resigned. Although it has been reported that his wife urged him to continue, the hand writing was on the wall … Eliot Spitzer must go.

However, the real question that needs to be reported on by the media is not the sex and the Jersey girl, Kristen, aka Ashley Alexandra Dupre that brought down a governor. The real question is just how often did Eliot Spitzer prosecute certain prostitution rings while protecting others that he frequented? What was his compensation for such preferential treatment? Thinks that is not an abuse of political power? A far greater crime than being a “John”.

Eliot Spitzer has reigned his office as Governor of New York citing personal Kristen2failings.

“From those to whom much is given, much is expected,” Mr. Spitzer said. “I have been given much: the love of my family, the faith and trust of the people of New York and the chance to lead this state. I am deeply sorry that I did not live up to what was expected of me.”

“Over the course of my public life, I have insisted — I believe correctly — that people regardless of their position or power take responsibility for their conduct,” he said. “I can and will ask no less of myself. For this reason, I am resigning from the office of governor.”

Eliot Spitzer’s resignation will be effective next Monday as he was caught it what only seems like the tip of the ice berg of his personal failings. Many experts predict that Spitzer’s resignation will not keep indictments from the former prosecutors door step.

It’s not this Kristen … Its this one. Meet Ashley Alexandra Dupre .. the call girl that brought Eliot Spitzer to his knees to resign.

Spitzer Call Girl Reportedly Identified

NEW YORK (AP) – The call girl at the center of the prostitution scandal that prompted Gov. Eliot Spitzer to resign in disgrace has been identified as a 22- year-old aspiring musician who struggled in a broken home as a child.
The New York Times reported that the real name of the woman—identified as “Kristen” in court papers alleging that Spitzer paid thousands of dollars for her services—is Ashley Alexandra Dupre.

Don D. Buchwald, a New York lawyer, confirmed to The Associated Press that he represents Dupre, but he wouldn’t comment further.

A man who answered the phone at the home of the woman’s mother in New Jersey and identified himself as Dupre’s brother, Kyle, told the AP he did not know why Dupre would agree to be interviewed about the scandal.

“I’ve talked to my sister every five minutes since this happened, and I’m not going to comment on it,” he said. “She’s just trying to get through this.”

Dupre’s MySpace page provides a window into her life as she went from a broken home in New Jersey to a music career in the city.

“I have been alone. I have abused drugs. I have been broke and homeless. But, I survived, on my own. I am here, in NY because of my music,” she wrote.

From Ashley Alexandra Dupré:

In a series of telephone interviews on Tuesday night, she said she had slept very little over the past week, with all the stress of the case.

“I just don’t want to be thought of as a monster,” the woman said as she told the tiniest tidbits of her story.

Born Ashley Youmans but now known as Ashley Alexandra Dupré, she spoke softly and with good humor as she added with significant understatement: “This has been a very difficult time. It is complicated.” (NY Times)
