Lawrence Alvin Lovett (Lovette) Jr. & Demario James Atwater Charged in the Murder of UNC Coed Eve Carson

Two people have been charged in the senseless murder of UNC coed Eve Carson. 21 year old Demario James Atwater of Durham, NC and 17 year old Lawrence Alvin Lovett Jr. They have both been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Eve Carson. The are still searching for Lovette.

They walk among us … As it turns out, both Atwater and Lovett have criminal pasts and have previously been convicted of felonies. Why are we not surprised? Charge then and then let them loose on an unsuspecting public so that persons like Eve Carson, with all the promise and hopes, who represent the best of our young people are murdered.

Eve Carson murder suspects Demario Atwater and Lawrence Lovett Jr.

Authorities have arrested a second suspect in the murder of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill student body president Eve Carson. 17 year old Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr. was arrested

Lovette, 17, surrendered without incident after four hours, Durham Carson_Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jrpolice Lt. Robert McLaughlin Jr. said.

He is the second man police were looking for in their investigation into Carson’s death.

Police released surveillance-camera photos from an ATM last week. The photographs showed a young man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap possibly using one of Carson’s ATM cards, police said. The pictures showed a shape that police said appeared to be a second person in the back seat of the vehicle, which may have been Carson’s SUV.

Chapel Hill Police Chief Brian Curran told reporters they believe Lovette was driving the car in the ATM photos and Atwater was in the back seat. (CNN)

2nd suspect arrested in UNC student’s slaying

According to the North Carolina Department of Corrections Web site, both suspects have criminal pasts. Atwater has been convicted of two felonies, including possession of a firearm by a felon, and Lovett was found guilty of misdemeanor breaking and entering and larceny in January.

Thanks in part to two sets of surveillance camera photos released by authorities, police received hundreds of tips from the community. The photos were taken when someone tried to use Carson’s ATM card — police say they show Lovett at a drive-up teller machine, and Atwater at a convenience store.

Who cares? Big deal? Amazing… I found brintey spears had a personal account on SeekRich.com. It is a site for celebrities and millionaires to mingle. It’s said Charlie Sheen has found his love there last May.

And let the punishment be appropriate.

      See that Aruba?

A proper investigation and the perps are put behind bars.

Why are you covering up Aruba? You know you have more pictures of Paulus at the ATM and hanging out in the casino….Why aren’t you utilizing these photos to help track down whoever the perps are in Aruba???

      Richard; you are far too nice;
Kill these thugs. Note how they carry themselves. One look at these two and you know they are thugs. Our justice system has failed us big time. Wonder what judge let these two go free. In my eyes Eve’s blood is on his hands as well.
This type of justice is no different than that in Aruba. Sad but true. The facts sicken me. SM find this judge, expose him. Bill Oriely will.

I’m sure these two will never see the light of day again. I will be watching this one. What’s sad is, there are so many just like these two out there. I’d like to throw the switch;however I think a family member should have the honor. That’s not a bad idea. Seriously. I know one lady from Alabama who would have no problem throwing the switch on one Aruban. Any takers?

“Police charged Lovette with murder and robbery in the Jan. 18 slaying of Abhijit Mahato and placed him in the Durham County Jail.”

Gee, big surprise. Blacks held for murder and black people can’t figure out why they are stereotyped. The Jena 5 or 6 or 2 (whatever they called them) brought an outcry of blacks. Where are the black parents in this outcry. Probably the same excuse: I don’t know where he be at all tha time.
      Bill Cosby is right.

Where is Jesse Jackson’s explaining this one. Blacks kill two white college students. I wish them fun in the booty house with the Aryans. Where is his apology to the Duke Lacrosse player’s that were proved innocent with DNA evidence?

Killing a helpless human being in cold blood. For what an ATM card? Guess they needed that crack or something. They are subhumans. There are so many lurking around us. Shooting up people in malls, schools, fast food places, etc. It’s too bad these miserable murderers don’t put the guns directly to their own heads before they choose to kill those innocents who do appreciate life.

the great equalizer is when the good guys start packing. see the thing no one one wants to admit is that good guys with guns are not the problem.

The North Carolina legal system had plenty of chances to send this 2 to jail before they killed Eve. Monday 2 days before they killed Eve one had a probation hearing at 9am. But the file was in the 4 floor and not the 3 floor. Because of that it was they gave hime another date. He could hae gone back to jail and would not hae been out to kill Eve. All of those people involved have Eves blood on thier hands include the ones that did not seen them to jail eariler . Too many liberal people on the Carolina system cost one of Carolina brighteset to die. The whole legal system is to blame. If they did a beter job in Jan and put more people behind bars maybe Eve is live today. IF the legal system people can not do thie job they should fine another job!

Was the killing of Eve Carlson a gang intiation?

      http://moronsinchapelhill.com/

      http://moronsinchapelhill.com/

Chances are, no matter where you are reading this in the US from
California to North Carolina you have heard the news of the murder of
University Of North Carolina Student Body President Eve Carlson. At this
time, March 13, the second suspect arrested in this murder has been
charged with yet another murder, equaling two murders for two suspects.
What no one seems to be asking, but is now being hinted at in the
blogsesphere is the notion that these murders were part of a gang initiation for one of the many violent and dangerous gangs centered in nearby Durham (but quickly moving east to Chapel Hill and west to Raleigh). On the street tongues are wagging now, telling our sources that Lovett and Atwater were attempting to “make their bones”, in an attempt to prove themselves “worthy” of joining a Durham gang by killing someone. Such initiations don’t require a particular target, since simply providing a dead body will get you into some of the more violent gangs. Apparently it’s a plus if the person happens to be a light skinned white woman. This isn’t being mentioned at all by the Powers That Be in Chapel Hill or in the aptly nicknamed Bull City (Durham) where the alleged killers were apprehended. All eyes are blind to the growing gang presence in the Triangle area. But gangs are here, and while most street gangs involve black youths there appears to be a presence as well of the ultra violent Mexican M 13 which is not just gaining a foothold in Durham but growing. Older M 13 gang members of that particular grip are advising younger members to “fit in” by dressing in middle class fashion and to no longer “paint your faces” (no more facial tattoos). There seems to be tension between the black and Mexican gangs in Durham that no one in the area acknowledges. It’s only ten minutes from Durham to Chapel Hill and here is more sign of spillover. Ever see those sneakers draped over telephone lines? You can see them in Chapel Hill, Carrboro and as far south as Northern Chatham County. It’s not just kids having fun. This is the way gangs mark their territory, and if you are in the wrong area in the wrong gang, you are fair game for murder. If you are just going to Burger King or McDonalds you may be a target. At least seven different “boundaries” have marked like this since the summer of 2007 in this area. If you do find one of these hanging sneakers take a photo of it, and see how long it takes to come down. If a cop spies it not long because the police will notify the gang unit of the Chapel Hill or Carrboro Police and the city will send workers to remove the offending shoes. Gang Units and local politicians know about this, but you don’t hear them telling the public about this fatal menace. Doing so alerts the public of the presence of gangs which in Chapel Hill will make the parents of UNC students very nervous. No one in the local government can afford to antagonize or criticize the biggest money maker for Chapel Hill, the University of North Carolina. Admitting that Chapel Hill or the college can be a dangerous area or even warning potential students of that danger will ruin a local politicos career, so no matter how dangerous Chapel Hill or the University may become the lives of students are secondary to the purse of the city. Students are expendable. Money is paramount. UNC has now become as dangerous to female students as Duke is dangerous to male students. Political correctness rules and students die.

What crosses my mind is the sheer terror that Eve must have felt and the astonishment that such a thing was happening to her. The loneliness she felt in her last moments.

For those that call for a bullet in the brain. Come on! Why waste a decent bullet on scum. An ice pick into the base of the skull, then scramble the brains. Provided you can find any.

And yes, if such a thing were possible, I’d volunteer for such a privilege. Along with hundreds, if not millions, of others.

      Poor Eve.

    45. nurturer on March 14th, 2008 6:04 pm

#40 – The system has unlimited resources to ‘defend’ itself. What poor, beautiful Eve needed was a handgun. If she had had a handgun, and trained in its usage and with a cool head, she could have put two soul brothers in their graves, side-by-side. But she was unarmed and at their mercy, as we all would be if unarmed and confronted by someone who is armed themselves.

    46. nurturer on March 14th, 2008 6:32 pm

It just come on The O’Reilly Factor, that these two playmates have been released on multiple, escalating crimes which were plead down each time. Effectively placing a killer on the streets among us.

THAT’S YOUR COURT SYSTEM WORKING FOR YOU.

      SO YOU REMAIN SAFE.

Dear black community. If you don’t start controlling your young men, we are going to start doing it for you. Decent people will only take so much abuse before they say, enough.

    51. Bruce on March 15th, 2008 8:51 am

Eve’s murder by multiple offenders, one on parole and actually out on his own recognizance from a recent arrest involving a firearm without even so much as bail is an outrage that should get the people who are responsible in local law enforcement and the justice system fired tomorrow. This clearly represents a failure of our justice system. This needs to be corrected immediately. The only way to make amends is to wage a coordinated and concerted war on gangs and gang activity in the area and get the rest of the scum off the streets post haste. There are undoubtedly a few hundred more like these two mad dogs just waiting for the opportunity to “make their bones”. I’d export these two to Saudi Arabia or Guantanamo for water boarding and have the names of all their buddies within 24 hours, then I’d draw and quarter them.

    52. Abby Patton on March 15th, 2008 11:05 am

Until we have the appropriate laws and punishments to fit the crimes, this is going to continually get worse. These kids are committing
murder and other heinous crimes at younger and
younger ages. It seems most are actually given
a second chance and eventually released. Well,
HELLO. If you’re cold blooded enough to kill once, I would bet the 2nd time is easier. We need
to elect officials who are sick of just being politically correct. These folks need to be willing to buck the system and get some strict laws passed for getting these thugs off the street
and permanently incarcerated. These perps aren’t human beings – they are vicious animals and need to be treated as such. There is no place in society for these two. Somebody better be looking
into why these two were out on the streets. It
looks as though they should not have been. It’s
sad…employees were probably scanning their emails, reading the internet, playing on their
cell phones and NOT DOING THEIR JOBS!

    53. Sydney on March 15th, 2008 11:45 am

Do not blame the “Black community” for this. Even though we share the same skin color and ethnicity, we are not the same. This was a murder that should have nothing to do with race. What we should be concerned about is the Carson family & how they are doing?

I’m so tired of ignorant people who constantly blame the “Black community” for not upholding their duties. It is unfair for someone to expect a group of millions to keep accounts on everyone.

      Be respectful.

I know Alvin Lovette personally. We went to Middle & High school. Very smart young man. His father was a professor at NCCU. He died about 5 years ago, due to cancer. After that, Alvin just went downhill.

    55. Danitee on March 16th, 2008 12:03 am

You Never Really understand where someone is coming from or what that person goes though. I happen to be related to Mario, the 21 year old and I love him very much. Out of all the years that I’ve known him, he would never go a takes someones life just because….. It’s surely the company he kept that has him in the situation he’s in. Every person in this world has made a stupid choice once or maybe four times in their life time. Just think hard about that, How Would You Really Feel If That Was Your Brother or something up there??
I’ll just keep praying for him and Lovette as well even though Lovette seems to be alot more guilty than Mario. They both just need love and some prayer. I LOVE YOU RIO!!! AND I’M STILL PRAYING!!

What a waste on all sides of this. A beautiful talented young woman taken down by two outlaws. Our country used to handle men (i don’t care if one of them is 17 – they are men) like this with dignity by hanging them in public. I truly believe that we need to adopt special laws for gruesome crimes like this and make public executions legal. Maybe this would make them think twice before pulling the trigger.

    57. James Marlon on March 17th, 2008 12:42 pm

For all intent in purposes these two animals are dead, their souls left them long ago for reasons certainly quite gruesome in its own right. The circumstances of their upbringing created these chipmanzees and now we see first hand the first generation of black chillun born to certifiable crackheads.

Waste no time on these worthless strands of DNA, push them feet first into a wood chipper, I can take it from there.

    58. James Marlon on March 17th, 2008 12:56 pm

      To Danitee

Making a stupid choice is one thing, ie…

Forgetting to set ones alarm clock, buying sometihng we can’t afford, cheating on a test, this is not making a stupid choice.

This is felonius, pre-meditated, heartless and senseless capital 1st degree murder.

Rio and I hope you can read this, eat feces and die m’r f’r I hope you suffer each and every minute of whats left of your life. Believe this too, given the chance I’d skin you ass alive and record your screams so that I could use them as a soothing release before I hit the hay. I would show you no pity.

My question is where were the probation officers and other law enforcers at during the time they
were out on the streets. It’s clear that one of the guy prob. officer has not met with him from
day 1. This is a biggy and something that should
be dealt with immediately. Its very embarrassing
to see how corrupted the justice system is. No
one cares about our youth and this is the major
problem. Many can talk about what should happen
to them, but not one of you all will lend out a
helping hand to guide them down the right path.
We need stronger workers who do not have a DWI
or several convictions of her own with weapons. How does this look to hire someone in the same position as the client? All of this could have been avoided if they were locked up long ago.

    61. Tash on March 31st, 2008 1:33 am

These 2 guys were cheated out of the help and guidance that they deserved. This does not excuse them for pulling the trigger on anyone. They should pay for what they have done, however, to kill them is not the answer. A person who is truly hating do not care about being on death
row. The “Thug” “Gang” lifestyle is in them.
Torturing them or threatening with death will
only raise their rage/ & hatred. Death might
be light for them, because they do not have to
feel anything in the same way they did not feel
when commmitting the murder. They need to be in
a place where they can actually “FEEL” the pain of the victim– Good Treatment Providers are in
a position to bring out their human side. One thing I noticed was: Even Though the one guy may have followed the gang and portrayed this tuff image, his face/ eyes dropped when informed by the judge regarding the maximum he could be slammed with: The Death Penalty. He said yes
very nervously. He was quite humble. Just imagine how much more we could have gotten done, if he would have served his prison time long ago. They should not be pampered or slapped on the hand, for cases that we can see truly leading up to possible murder (such as poss. of a firearm.) Ask yourself: What is a person doing with a hand gun in their possession in the first place, and especially when they are on parole or probation? Normally we see this a lot from drug addicts or those gang related. As a licensed therapist, I can truly say: The longer they are allowed to play the system with dumb ass officers who are
not even aware of what’s going on with their
own caseload, they will continue to feel safe
doing what they do best– rob and kill people.
These thugs do not care about you or the next
person. They only hear “Dope” money and what
ever they can get out of their BS. It is up
to qualified professionals to know what they
are doing and set the records straight about
how much we will tolerate. Certain crimes
are just not acceptable.. Poss of a Firearm
or prior history of robbery. Listen to the
warning signs early on, deal with them right
then and there, and we’ll have better results
      from them.

Tash I have no idea what planet you are living on but they need therapy? Sounds like you are the one who needs counseling as you are suffering from a disorder of some type if you think “talking” will help these vile creatures.

    63. Tash on April 3rd, 2008 12:53 pm

Aran Pride Sounds like you have me confused with your own needs for counseling, anytime you are calling “Human Beings” vile creatures. You are representing their vicious sides. Don’t do it to yourself “Sir.” By the way, I got the feeling that you may need “Eye Glasses” as well, as you appear to overlook what I actually said. I never said “Talking” would help them. I mentioned Treatment/ Therapy. Apparently you associate therapy with talking. And therapy is not limited to just “Talking.” You are not a counselor, so leave that subject alone. I can see that you are quite “Naive”, to believe that therapy is all talk. No Sir!!! It teaches them some real indepth stuff about “Feeling.” Idiot! Stop putting your own “Garbage” into what you read and you find yourself considering them as human beings
and not vile creatures. Feel Me! You are representing who they are, as they saw the young student as less than human– so they killed. Do not follow their footprints. I said so much more than what you mentioned, that it’s sad that you
      missed it.

    64. Tash on April 3rd, 2008 2:09 pm

Aryan you are living in a dream world if you believe that the “Death Penalty” is going fix
them. Sounds like you are confusing me with your own needs for counseling, anytime you are calling
humans vile creatures. I think you could use some
“Eye Glasses”, for you overlook everything what I
said. I never stated that “Talking” would help them. You said that dear. Treatment involves more “listening” and less talking. They will get more indepth with their lives. What you do is more “Talking” “Judging” which only rewards what they are doing. Don’t you see the comparison
between your thinking and thiers? They saw the young student as being less than human– Don’t you go there to react like they do. Have a heart
and feel for people. Stop being so afraid of their “Hatred/ Anger.” It’s a facade going on with them. Don’t you grasp basic psychology?? It’s obvious by the expression he had on his face, when he was informed by the judge “that
it wasn’t anything to him.” Thank You!

    65. Antonio on April 8th, 2008 10:58 am

Put those scared monkeys away forever. What is wrong with society these days. It’s ridiculous.

    66. D.E.N. on April 13th, 2008 9:22 pm

Okay, what all of you are saying is true. I agree one hundred percent. However, for whoever the fool previously wrote about the “thugs, and pants down, shoes untied, cornrows, and whatever else” Dude please tell me what the student who killed the kids at Va Tech wearing and looking like, was he a thug or just some nerdy as corny looking dude with long “blonde” hair? Hmmm, you guys are so quick to judge an apperance, yes it looks awful but God Does the judging. The kid who did thed columbine shooting, his attire wasn’t “thug looking”, he didn’t have his shoes untied I’m sure he probably had on sketchers but either way He KILLED INNOCENT PEOPLE or have we forgotten about that? There was another killing at some other school up north earlier this year, Please tell me what does this guy look like? OH, okay I thought so. Moral is crime is every way white, black, yellow, red, purple, or grey ITS HAPPENING so before WE all judge how about we get off our lazy ass and do something about what’s going on. And to correct the idiot above it was the Jena Six, these boys were getting more heat thrown at them and they killed who? Where as we all forget about the stupid muthafuka who killed the kids at VA tech, columbine, and every where else.

    67. Strange on May 9th, 2008 8:57 am

Nobody has ever asked “What was Ms. Carson doing at that location at the time of her death? I truly believe we will learn of her involvement in drugs. Why else would she get so close to these two dangerous individuals. The police, under pressure from UNC, will be reluctant to release any evidence that might indicate Ms. Carson was purchasing or distributing illegal drugs. Still, the question remains “Why did she allow herself be be approached on a street with no exit? Did she know these guys and have a meeting planned?

    68. Getting to know the facts on May 9th, 2008 6:34 pm

Strange,, I’m not real clear what point you are making regarding her involvement in drugs. The issue here is the 2 men who killed her. Are you stating that her purchasing or distributing drugs
is justifiable for being murdered?? Whatever she was doing can not be compared to how these 2 men killed her. People use drugs all the time and do not get killed behind it. Those 2 men should
not be in the gang/ or dealing drugs in the first
place. They have several “Gun” and “Drug” charges
so this tells you: They are out to get whatever they can from perceived “Victims.” One of them was charged with having a “Caliber Gun” once during a breaking/ entering. My understanding is that the Gun he had is used in a murder. A very dangerous weapon to begin with and the real question truly is: What on earth would posess him to even carry this type of gun? The mindframe of these 2 individuals is what’s questionable. They are targeting victims and this is unacceptable in my book. You don’t kill a person because they are strung out on drugs or distributing it. What we are seeing are 2 men who have lots of Control Issues. Point Blank!

[...] the autopsy reports, NC should bring back the firing squad or hanging for the two suspects, Demario Atwater and Lawrence Lovett Jr., who committed the crime. NC may want to think about a public stoning. Both are charged with [...]

    70. justice on July 19th, 2008 6:42 pm

well, i wonder where jackson and sharpton are?????? they only speak up when it is white on black. you never hear their black crappy mouths when blacks kill whites. maybe those two idiots could say something about how tragic it is for two of their primate brothers to kill a beautiful, promising, intelligent young woman for nothing.

    71. phillip on October 30th, 2008 10:05 am

this is demario’s BROTHER AND HONESTLY I DON’T think my brother killed Eve carson i CAN say he tried to use the card but that doesn’t mean anything. the news said 25,000 if someone locate demario money makes people do lots of things how come wen a black person gets killed it’s only on the news for about a day or two Eve was nation wide for about a week or so. yes i do believe that race has i lot to do with this case all these killings happening and the police want to give my brother the death penalty dats messed up i do understand how Eve’s relatives fell about the situation but my brother did not kill her im in school, tenth grade and i can’t finish without him Demario has younger brother who will be terrified to hear that he has the death penalty. to tell u the true i think it’s going to make me phsyco to hear the worst news i don’t want to live like this the police treat my mother like she was a suspect; heming her against brick walls and shit the feds talk to you like you know something when you don’t,basically puting words in your mouth so the death penalty shoulnd not be and option

    72. Smooth easy on January 16th, 2009 10:22 pm

These two guys need to die; in the worst possible way. I would prefer that they stay on death row for a couple of years so they can get bent over while in prison. If Lovett’s father was a professor then I really don’t give him any excuse now. He has shamed his old dude, and the whole family. I grieve for Eve and her family. Truly innocent and senseless.

    73. MaryBeth on November 20th, 2009 9:52 pm

Wow, this is so not a racial thing. The victim happens to be white and the suspects happen to be black. All races kill and it’s mostly inter-racial. This is more of opportunistic seeing as how Eve’s door was left unlocked. They saw she was alone…she’s female so they have a natural advantage over her and they had weapons. If she was with her friends it is far less likely she would have been a victim. I’m not saying she made a bad decision I’m just showing you how these criminals think.
I’m white and it really upsets me to read things like “dear black people, control your kids”….it’s not just the black race killing or commiting crimes. There are all kinds of gangs with mixed races…we need to look beyond color for real.

    74. Lavonia on January 15th, 2010 6:47 pm

God Bless the Carson family, it will be very hard on then when these 2 get their day in court.
Be strong so many people are praying for the Carson Family.

    75. Mohamad on April 22nd, 2011 12:38 pm

After reading through all the comments I want to remind everyone that this is typical behavior for those two worthless vile animals. Seriously, could either one ever done anything positive for society and contributed anything to mankind? No they are absolutely good for nothing but landfill. The beautiful white woman had so much to offer society and obviously would have been a more than productive member – unfortunately, these two ferral animals who are nothing more breathing human garbage, destroyed so many families and took away from society someone that would have mattered. These (edit) are just going to continue to steal from society and would have never done anything worthwhile to begin with.

    76. Kevin243 on December 14th, 2011 12:27 pm

From my life experience, gangsters are all over. uck USA Justice system, they care more about the rights of criminals and gangsters then that of victims. uck this backwards shit, if our gov doesn’t get its shit in order, i know many people here in arizona whom are absolutely fed up, we have been attacked, harassed, stolen from for too long while the cops just keep the status quo. No more

    77. Rick on December 15th, 2011 5:03 am

these murders had brains of a donkey, they should of got a severe beating first. Then put in a large fish tank with hungrey parahnas, and why is it when blacks murder whites it’s called victim of circumstance, but when a white murders a black it’s alway’s called racism, because there is a double standard in this country…Well facts are crime & murder black against white is 6 times greater…..

    78. Steven on March 30th, 2016 12:25 pm

Totally awful these scum bum rejects of society, do this awful crime get to live ,and this positive thinking young lady , loses her life because of there barbarism. Lock them up throw away the key.
