Natalee Holloway:Paulus van der Sloot, father of Joran van der Sloot, dead of cardiac arrest
Breaking news out of Aruba. Paulus van der sloot, father of prime suspect in the Natalee Holloway case Joran van der Sloot, died this evening while playing tennis of a cardiac arrest.
UPDATE I: Paulus Van der Sloot Dies at the age of 57 from a cardiac arrest
Paulus Van der Sloot, the father of Joran Van der Sloot and the last person reported to have ever seen Alabama teen Natalee Holloway alive has died of a cardiac arrest while playing tennis in Aruba at the Tierra del Sol estate.
Media on Aruba are reporting that Paul van der Sloot, the father of the main suspect in the Natalee Holloway disappearance case, has died.
Joran van der Sloot’s father collapsed on Wednesday evening when playing tennis at the Tierra del Sol estate on the Dutch Caribbean island. Emergency service staff were unable to resuscitate him. Paul van der Sloot was aged 57.
His son Joran is still suspected of involvement in the disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway on Aruba in May 2005. The case was brought back into the limelight when crime reporter Peter R. de Vries secretly filmed Joran van der Sloot claiming that he had dumped Natalee’s body in the ocean. The potentially incriminating statement was not accepted as evidence by the court.
In the end there is a Justice that outweighs man’s justice
In a Dutch article from HvNL, De Vries discusses the death of Paulus Van der Sloot and talks about it was always his opinion that Joran Van der Sloot was responsible for Natalee Holloway’s disappearance and that his father, the recently deceased Paulus Van der Sloot helped his son hide her body.
UPDATE II: I chatted with Jossy Mansur early this morning via email and he was gracious enough to provide Scared Monkeys with the follwoing translation from their front page Diario article on Paulas Van der Sloot.
Paul Van der Sloot died last night
He was playing tennis and fell to the ground.ORANJESTAD (AAN) The well-known lawyer Paul van der Sloot died last night. He was playing tennis and at a certain moment collapsed. The information that DIARIO has says that the ambulance came immediately to the site and started to reanimate him. He was placed in the ambulance and was taken to the hospital, but not much could be done to save his life. Mr. Paul van der Sloot was a lot in the local and international news some time back after his son, Joran van der Sloot, became a suspect in the case of the disappearance of the young American girl Nathallee Holloway. This may have had an effect on his health. Peace to his remains and strength to his family.
Jossy Mansur, the managing editor of Diario also provided us with the following:
“Justice has a strange way of correcting irregularities committed in its name. In this particular case, Paul had the necessary information we needed to solve the case, but decided to take it with him to his tomb. His version (the true one) we will never know. And we can never depend on Joran to come clean with what happened to Natalee.
Yes, Paul died playing tennis yesterday afternoon. God forgive him!“
