Missing Man Gregory van der Biezen Drown in Aruba; However His Body was Found

A 35 year old man, Gregory van der Biezen, went missing in Aruba after he went body Aruba_map_Boca Grandiboarding with his son near Boca Grandi after hurricane Felix passed over the island. After initial search efforts failed, authorities resumed the next day and the police found the body of the man in the water.  Boca Grandi is located near the island’s eastern tip.

The unfortunate drowning of this man does once again bring up an obvious point that seems to be lost or conveniently avoided by so many when discussing the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. If one simply just drowned in the ocean, they would have been found. She would have either washed ashore or would have been found in the water. Gregory van der Biezen’s body was found even with the rough seas and undercurrents following Hurricane Felix. Why would the rules of nature be so different for an American teenage tourist as opposed to a 35 year old Dutch nurse in Aruba if as so many have claimed Natalee simply drowned? The fact of the matter is, this is what would have occured if someone had simply just drown.

Amigoe, Sept. 4, 2007: Missing man drowned: Rescue workers searching for the missing Gregory van der Biezenoccurred.

In Aruba Dissatisfaction with Quad Racer, What about Drugs & Money Laundering … Natalee Holloway?

One wonders why more is not written and reported on when it comes to other crimes in  Aruba? Like the real issues that plague the island. Dissatisfaction with tourists on quad-racers? Is that the most pressing issue? There are actually more auto accidents with deadly consequences to native Arubans than injuries caused from quad-racers. What is it with Aruba, a so-called tourist destination where they so willingly blame the tourist at all cost?

I guess Aruba will just skip over the obvious real crime issues like drugs and money laundering. They will also gloss over the whole American tourist missing person thing as well. They seem to be more intent on public enemy number one, tourists on quad racers.

Park rangers assume that quad racers are responsible for this, because they saw tire tracks in the sand.  They will announce this Friday what measures they are going to take to prevent this from happening again.

One wonders when they are going to come out with measures to prevent under age Aruban teens from being allowed in bars like Carlos N’ Charlie’s and in casinos. Both places where according to Aruban law, they are not allowed. In Aruba, quad racers and turtle eggs important … Justice for Natalee Holloway, not.

Aruban Protests Against “Big Development” of Downtown Renovation … Civil Unrest, Always Good for Tourism

Aruban police moved in quickly in on this illegal action, why are they AWOL on others? It would appear that the Aruban police can act quickly when they care to. When its not about a cover up, justice is swift in Aruba. When its a pressing issue like Arubans expressing their freedom of speech against their government officials selling them down the river. However, when it comes to the disappearance and murder of an American tourist, that gets put in the deny and stall at all cost category. Amazing what Aruban police find to be a priority and what they do not.

According to the police it was an illegal action. Incidentally, it didn’t take that long; police officers were quickly able to remove the chains, which were smeared with oil, after which the traffic jam in the main street was soon dissolved.

Amigoe, August 14, 2007: Caya Grandi closed down

ORANJESTAD – An unknown number of activists have temporarily closed down the Caya Betico Croes this morning with boards and chains. They protested against the course of action the case surrounding the renovation of the main shopping street is taking and the plans of Downtown Development Corporation.
