Any one ever notice that Bill Clinton always seems to need to grab the spot light of an event by saying some of the most inappropriate things? Yesterday’s Presidential meet up was no different. Get used to it Barack … it will just be one of the many during your administration.

It was an extraordinary gathering of the President-elect Barack Obama, President George W. Bush and former Presidents, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter. With such an unprecedented photo op and gathering what sound bite was the most eye opening and would have made traffic stop when heard? The one of course uttered by former President Bill Clinton commenting on the Oval Office rug … “I just love that rug.”  Probably not as much as the rug that you had in the Oval Office during your Presidency? File this one in the category of comments Bill Clinton is never allowed to say. Another might be while talking to his wife Hillary, hey honey that’s a great dress, you look good in blue.

What did they talk about? Time and memoirs may let us know, but judging by a remark Mr Clinton made to President George W Bush before they headed into the adjoining dining room, there was plenty of room for idle conversation at the ultimate power lunch.

“I just love that rug,” he cooed, looking down at the pale gold rug with sunbeam design that Mr Bush brought with him in 2000 and which will shortly be packed off to his home state Texas.

Global Warming ‘Surreal Scientific Blunder’ in Temperature Records … Its Not Easy Being Green or Being Credible

Its not easy being Green, especially when you cannot even get the data correct.

Global warming eh? Maybe some one would like to explain the “surreal scientific blunder” and the attempted cover up? As Newsbusters states, this “should cause everyone to question the source’s past and future credibility”. The source in question is NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), the outfit run by world champion globalarmist James Hansen.

Hansen has in the past stated that “heads of major fossil-fuel companies who spread disinformation about global warming should be ‘tried for high crimes against humanity and nature.’”

Nothing more need be said regarding experts and global warming that from The Other McCain, “Boggles the mind that bloggers know more about climatology than the government ‘experts’ do”.

A surreal scientific blunder last week raised a huge question mark about the temperature records that underpin the worldwide alarm over global warming. On Monday, Nasa’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record.

This was startling. Across the world there were reports of unseasonal snow and plummeting temperatures last month, from the American Great Plains to China, and from the Alps to New Zealand. China’s official news agency reported that Tibet had suffered its “worst snowstorm ever”. In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years.

It did not take Obama very long to break his first campaign promise about civility and creating a new “can’t we all get along” environment in politics. Barack Obama took no time in insulting Nancy Reagan and the deceased former President Ronald Reagan. At Obama’s very first President-elect press conference he sees fit to insult Nancy Reagan. America, this is what you have empowered and now you are stuck with it for 4 years.

America, nothing says change, bi-partisanship and the promise of a new day like making fun of an insulting the aging and ailing wife of a former President of the United States who was a Republican icon.

Looks like this is the “change” that we have to look forward to a long with the rest of the lies that came from Obama’s mouth during the campaign.

 Obama has only spoken to living Presidents:

Obama says in his first post-election press conference that he’s spoken to all the former presidents — Carter, Bush, Clinton, as well as the current Bush — and, looser than he’s been in months, dares a joke at the expense of the widow of the most recently deceased.

“I have spoken to all of them who are living,” he says. “I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances,” he says.

He was responding to a question, from the Chicago Sun-Times’ Lynn Sweet, about whether he’d spoken to all of the “living” former presidents.

The Ever Changing Obama Tax Threshold ($250,000? $200,000? $150,000) … How Low Will it Go and include All?

There are three certainties in life, death, taxes and that Democrats will always raise your taxes. For months Barack Obama has stated that he would only raise taxes on those families making more than $250,000 a year. It has been questioned that Obama once in office would lower this amount to fit the massive spending initiatives that he has proposed. As Joe the Plumber had warned and we at Scared Monkeys had questioned as well, when will Obama’s sliding threshold lower to include many more in the middle class than originally stated.

Obama’s position in the past was that he would raise taxes on families making more than $250,000 a year and individuals making more than $200,000.  But in his new ad, “Defining Moment,” he seems to lower it to $200,000 for families. “Here’s what I’ll do as president,” Obama says in the ad.  “To deal with our current emergency I’ll launch a rescue plan for the middle class That begins with a tax cut for 95 percent of working Americans. If you have a job, pay taxes and make less than $200,000 a year, you’ll get a tax cut.” That seems kind of ambiguous, but the graphic on the screen says clearly: “Families making less than $200,000 get tax cut.” Now, the McCain campaign is pointing out something that Joe Biden said in a Pennsylvania TV interview yesterday:

Obama, what happened to families making $250,000? Obama is already lowering the threshold.

Listen to Joe Biden now say that the threshold for middle class is $150,000 a year. So what is it Obama-Biden, $250,000, $200,000 or $150,000? How soon will it be before the middle class is considered below $100,000? Think all voter who consider themselves middle class should be concerned … YOU BETCHA!!!

As Time Magazine calls it, HIDDIN’ JOE BIDEN. The MSM has wanted to focus on Sarah Palin and how much of a detriment she has been to John McCain; however, it is Joe “gaffe a minute” Biden who has been the issue during this Presidential campaign. Is it any wonder that Obama has put a leash on Biden and if possible would have ordered a judge to put a gag order on his own VP. It must be bad if even Karen Tumulty of Time states that Biden is less accessible than Sarah Palin.

But traveling with Biden during this campaign has sometimes been like reporting on a politician packaged in shrink-wrap. While his windy, off-point pontification was the stuff of legend among his Senate colleagues, Biden is now leashed to a teleprompter even when he is talking in a high school gym that is three-quarters empty. The exposure hound who in recent years appeared more often than any other guest on the Sunday talk shows is a virtual stranger to the small band of reporters on his plane — less accessible than even Sarah Palin is to her traveling pack of bloodhounds. The muzzling of Biden seems unnatural and inhumane, like taking a proud lion into captivity. Biden, who once scolded Sarah Palin for ducking reporters, hasn’t given a news conference since Sept. 7. The king of the rhetorical jungle hasn’t taken questions from voters in a town hall forum since Sept. 10, when he famously said that Hillary Clinton is “more qualified than I am to be vice president” and “might have been a better pick than me.” He doesn’t even do much chitchat with supporters at events since he was caught on tape on one such occasion contradicting Obama’s energy policy.

Now even Palin takes questions from reporters on her campaign plane. But the wordiest man in Washington has to make his remarks short, sweet and canned.

What if ‘SNL’ or the MSM mocked Michelle Obama or Barack Obama … Media Double Standard

Double standard in the media … You betcha!!!

Humor is not only supposed to be funny, really good humor is also based on a hint of the truth. The fact that the media cannot poke fun of Obama is telling. Personally, if one cannot find humor in their own actions and poke fun at themselves, they are not well rounded enough to lead as they take themselves far too seriously.

Why can’t the “lame” stream media or late night comedy shows like SNL be fair in their representation of their craft? One, the media, is supposed to report the news, provide us with insight and expose the truth. They are supposed to do this without an overt bias an openly rooting for a political candidate. The other, comedy, is supposed to make us laugh through whatever method and provide a satirical environment of not only the political landscape, but our society. Why do they both fail miserably? Is it any wonder why the NY Times is losing money. They must ask themselves, in an Obama Administration … what is the media and SNL going to show their readers and viewers, a blank page or screen?

As Pat Buchanan recently wrote, what if SNL mocked Michelle Obama? Buchanan’s thought is if they did they would be brought up on hate crimes. If anyone thinks that is far fetched all one needs to look at is the consistent use of the word “racist” for any questioning of Barack or Michelle Obama. Instead the MSM piles on Sarah Palin, John and even Cindy McCain and forgets Biden and the Obama’s. The liberals play the “experience” card with Palin, yet forget their hypocrisy in that not too long ago the Dems were a scream way from nominating Howard Dean, an inexperienced Governor of the small state of VT to be President.

The media cannot get enough of the “Saturday Night Live” impersonations of Palin as a bubblehead. News shows pick up the Tina Fey clips and run them and run them to the merriment of all.

Can one imagine “Saturday Night Live” doing weekly send-ups of Michelle Obama and her “I’ve never been proud” of my country, this “just downright mean” America, using a black comedienne to mimic and mock her voice and accent?

“Saturday Night Live” would be facing hate-crime charges.
