Here is Your Classy and Bi-Partisan Candidate of Washington Political Change Insulting Nancy and Ronald Reagan at First President-Elect Press Conference

CHANGE? REALLY? LOOKS LIKE MEAN AND INSULTING POLITICS AS USUAL … HOW TYPICAL OF OBAMA.

Barack Obama campaigned on the premise of change and that he would change the way things are done within Washington, DC and the political sniping that has permeated the environment.

How Presidential … first press conference from President-elect Barack Obama and he takes a shot taken at an old lady named Nancy Reagan.

It did not take Obama very long to break his first campaign promise about civility and creating a new “can’t we all get along” environment in politics. Barack Obama took no time in insulting Nancy Reagan and the deceased former President Ronald Reagan. At Obama’s very first President-elect press conference he sees fit to insult Nancy Reagan. America, this is what you have empowered and now you are stuck with it for 4 years.

America, nothing says change, bi-partisanship and the promise of a new day like making fun of an insulting the aging and ailing wife of a former President of the United States who was a Republican icon.

Looks like this is the “change” that we have to look forward to a long with the rest of the lies that came from Obama’s mouth during the campaign.

Obama has only spoken to living Presidents:

Obama says in his first post-election press conference that he’s spoken to all the former presidents — Carter, Bush, Clinton, as well as the current Bush — and, looser than he’s been in months, dares a joke at the expense of the widow of the most recently deceased.

“I have spoken to all of them who are living,” he says. “I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any séances,” he says.

He was responding to a question, from the Chicago Sun-Times’ Lynn Sweet, about whether he’d spoken to all of the “living” former presidents.

UPDATE I: CNN - Barack Obama Apologizes to Nancy Reagan for Insensitive Seance Remark

President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan on Friday to apologize for a remark about seances he made during his first news conference earlier in the day.

Obama apologizes to Nancy Reagan for seance quip

Obviously Barack Obama had so much admiration and affection for Nancy Reagan that he felt it quite OK to insult her. One thing is for certain, Barack Obama better grow up real fast and understand that he is the President of the United States. The days of acting like a comedic fool are over. However, it was just that ridiculous nonsense that got him elected. Barack, you are at the grown ups table now … act like it.

U.S. President-elect Barack Obama apologized to former first lady Nancy Reagan on Friday for making a quip about her doing seances.

“President-elect Barack Obama called Nancy Reagan today to apologize for the careless and off-handed remark he made during today’s press conference,” said Obama spokeswoman Stephanie Cutter.

“The President-elect expressed his admiration and affection for Mrs. Reagan that so many Americans share and they had a warm conversation,” Cutter said in a statement.

UPDATE II: Suck up and Straight man Media Laugh at Obama’s Insult of Nancy Reagan

The MSM love-fest continues as media laughs at mean and insulting joke.

“In terms of speaking to former presidents, I have spoken to all of them that are living,” Obama said. “Obviously, President Clinton.”

Some in the audience of reporters started laughing at the fact that Mr. Obama had felt the need to say he spoken to the presidents “that are living.”

UPDATE III: Michelle Malkin has the dual gaffe meter going for Obama and Biden.

As Michelle states, at least Obama did not call Nancy Weezy. That should be a litmus test for all politicians. If one screws up Sanford & Son trivia you are not allowed to run for any office.

I might as well just say it and not beat around the bush … what an A$$hole!!!

For 2+ years we have been listening to this clown talk about change, political discord, civility, gum drops and sugar plum fairies.

At his very first, #1, uno, he comes out and says something insulting regarding the opposition party.

Interestingly enough he failed to mention Hillary Clinton channeling Eleanor Roosevelt.

Change you can believe in, what a crock.

    2. Michelle on November 7th, 2008 9:10 pm

I think he was trying to be funny but that was disrespectful. There was no need to say something like that. All he had to do is say “yes I have spoken to other living former presidents.”

    3. txchic on November 7th, 2008 9:24 pm

no surprise, he strayed from his script. obama’s an excellent orator & should have been a motivational speaker. he’s not good at adlibing nor the details.

So then what you are saying is that Obama is really like a TV anchor reading a teleprompter.

No knowledge of what he speaks of unless it is prepared and he is rehearsed.

There are some Presidential qualities required for a President.

      Greetings:

When I was growing up in the Bronx of the ’50s and ’60s, a guy like Senator Obama was known as “a Negro with a dictionary.” It wasn’t really a compliment. What it connoted was a thin veneer of manners and vocabulary overlaying a desire to take every advantage possible and justified by a deep racial anger.

    6. Pat in Alabama on November 7th, 2008 10:26 pm

Apparently ending sniping partisan politics was not included in his “change”, but Rush reported on some things that are on his agenda listed on change.org.

Elimination of nuclear arsenals through verifiable treaties – what a laugh – how niave!

Create a $2 billion fund to reduce terrorism by creating schools in middle eastern countries that don’t teach radical Islam. Are we going to spend our tax money on the teaching of a nice version of Islam? Are we going to suggest they just forget about the Quran since we have don’t seem to need our Bibles anymore? Perhaps we will just provide them the money and trust they will do what we want…

    7. Scared Monkeys on November 7th, 2008 10:45 pm

This is just the beginning of the Obama predicament.

He laughed, joked and BS’d his way thru a primary and general election with the aid of a Pravda propaganda media and blaming everything on GWB and Republicans.

Now it is time for him to put on his big boy pants and act like an adult. We have real problems that require real solutions, not socialism or the pandering to the far Left and pay backs.

Those that carried Obama’s water are now going to expect pay back. That would be the Unions, especially auto workers and MI. The state is in near bankruptcy.

However, Obama cannot pay everyone back, nor can he fulfill any of his campaign spending promises with sending US debt thru a ceiling never before seen.

Republicans will once again act like Republicans and tighten their fiscal belts.

Ronald Reagan had Jimmy Carter. The Republican Revolution had Bill Clinton and the 2012 Republicans will have a far LEFT tax and spend liberal/socialist by the name of Barack Obama the likes that has never been seen before.

Buyers remorse will be setting in very soon.

Not to worry though. I’m sure he understands that Africa is a continent.

This Scared Monkey is so disappointed that this fine website has transformed into an anti-Obama political blog. As an Independent, I have been very offended by much of the content on this blog.

Since we know over 50% of the country voted for Obama, I doubt that I am the only Monkey who feels this way; I would guess many others are just not commenting, since they hold you in high regard.

Here’s some unsolicited advice for you from a CPA/small business consultant (me): create a separate section within the site for your political blog, so Monkeys who aren’t on the anti-Obama bandwagon with you can skip the daily Obama rant, but still see the new stories about the Missing People.

      Thank you.

I love reading about different issue on this website but I have come to realize that are many hateful and prejudice comments on here. It a shame the way people on her post made up comments and put down religion such as Islam. That is complete ignorance and absolutly un-American. Shame on ignorant, uneducated, narrow minded individuals such as yourselfs who give a Americans and what it means to be an American a bad reputation. Maybe you should educate yourselfs and look outside the box so that you could be part of a much better American society. Once agian SHAME on you

I am wondering if any of the ghosts at the White House are the racist sort… what will those ghosts be thinking??? Oh, It is true, and has been said that there are ghosts at the White House; so Hillary talking to Eleanor is not that far fetched.

      Donna r sez…
“As an Independent, I have been very offended by much of the content on this blog.”

Not only independents and democrats, Donna r.

It is also a shame that this once beautiful and caring truly Conservative website was allowed to be degenerated and kidnapped by some renegade malcontents, losing its reputation as a conservative beacon as well as its credibility.

      Truly a shame.

Crikey, Nancy Reagan isn’t as precious or as offended as you think; you are insulting her intelligence. You lot are taking a throw away line too seriously. I’d have thought you all had more serious things to worry about. You should all thank your God the majority of voters have made such a wise decision in choosing this President Elect. Is it that you want to compound & continue the dreadful situation the US of A is now in & has dragged the rest of the World into as well ? Get real. 80% of the World’s population, black, white & all shades in between are so relieved the Democrats have won the election. Mr Obama is a much needed breath of fresh air. Oh & by the way, one does not get to top Harvard Law school without being the very brightest & a person of honour.

    15. sasheppard on November 8th, 2008 9:03 am

Hey Meryl, Perhaps the genius who wrote this article didn’t have the time to read your comments but I did. First of all hey stupid, it was a joke. You’ve heard of them, right? Why he felt it necessary to apology in the first place is obvious, it’s okay for you to make fun of him and his wife or agree to it being made, but if he says something you’re not happy with then he’s a problem. Careful your racism is showing. Like it or not he is the president-elect. Keep writing in Meryl someone needs to point out the facts. By the way most of us can add so what’s with your question above?

So glad those around him convenienced him that the right thing (not Wright) to do was to call Nancy and apologize.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Will Obama take the Presidential Oath of Office raising his right hand, swearing to “protect and defend (against all ENEMIES, foreign and domestic)”, placing his left hand on the “Holy Bible” or the “Koran”???

Will the “Anti-Christ” (Obama) say at the end of the oath “So help me God”, like past Presidents before him???

Whatever became of Obama’s beloved grandmother who was such an influence on his life? And who died the day before the election. Shouldn’t he at least have gone to a funeral or memorial service?

Or was the whole thing a hoax to try to gain sympathy just before the election?

    24. Susan on November 8th, 2008 10:14 am

#23 – You know, Ed, that thought crossed my mind also, shortly after Obama’s grandmother’s death was announced…sympathy voters!!

How could a sane person allow the death of a candidate’s family member to sway their vote either way?

I did hear something on the news about the family attending a memorial service for her in Hawaii.

Exactly how did this woman raise her grandson and what kind of person was she?

Our President Elect is not a muslim. He first cabinet appointment was Rahm Israel Emmanual, whose father, a doctor in Jerusalem, was one of the Irgun….Zionists who fought the British and the Arabs and whose valor led to the foundation of the State of Israel. The Fox news reporter based in Israel – Rita Nineham – said the Israelis were cheering and told her that Rahm in Hebrew means thunder and Barak in Hebrew means lightning. It’s true I looked it up in my Hebrews name book. Maybe we will have peace in the Middle East…I pray it will be so. Barak was a great soldier…you can read about him in the book of Deborah. The Jewish vote for Barak was by a margin of 57-30 percent…source = HAARETZ.com Israel News. Just thought it might be of interest. Pray for peace.

Anyone who only wants to read about lost children can read the title of any post and know whether it fits what they want or not.

Why should Scared Monkeys change their blog for anyone? If they don’t want to write what you want to read, go elsewhere.

I also agree that some of the comments go way over the line and make me feel like I’m at the Huffington Post or Koz Kiddies blog – I skip them. I also skip those posts that are written to just take up a lot of room. You may skip my posts – who knows.

Democrats and Liberals may be quite pleased at getting their choice in presidents. We simply want to bring you back to reality now and let you know that “change” and “hope” have no meaning without some concrete ideas behind them. You’ve been led down a prim rose path. We merely take the time to point this out to you as Obama names a former board member of the failed Fannie Mae as his Chief of Staff, Osama Bin Laden makes threats that Obama better tow the line and Iran also threatens that he’d better accept their nuclear ambitions.

Trouble is on the way. Bunker down folks. You can’t make as many promises as Obama has without ticking someone off when your dreams don’t come true.

      katablog mused…
“Why should Scared Monkeys change their blog for anyone? If they don’t want to write what you want to read, go elsewhere.”

Fact of the matter is they already have changed, from a focussed and straightforward conservative board a la President “Dutch” Reagan to one where those can ply their wares of stand-up comedy, using opposite points of view as a verbal pinata and having no personal or responsible platform of their own.

      But hey, I ain’t whining!

Although I miss the old Monkeys, I still can get a kick out of the whiners and their screaming and waving fists at the clouds.

Keep up the great efforts, you’re getting better all the time.

      By the way, katablog…
Your 4th paragraph(democrats and liberals…) is well written and almost to the tune of what Scared Monkeys USED to be like. Thanks for the intelligent insight.

“We notify the media outlets editorial/news and advertising sales departments of your displeasure and intent to notify their advertisers.

We notify their advertisers mentioning both their potential loss of you as a customer or client and the damage to their corporate image.

We cease to consume that outlets products in both content and advertising, whether a classified ad or a full color inside cover place it with another outlet.

We inform our alternate media choices who we left to come to them and why, again let their ad department know as well.

The editorial/news or programing side of media can be unresponsive and arrogant, but the advertising side will take note quickly.”

      Foxy,

I’m not sure exactly what your point is. Do you think I am stirring up trouble among brethern, or this board in general?

      Read Ezeikel 33:1-9

A storm is rapidly approaching our country. I don’t really care about Obama, but some of the things he says he wants to do are worrisome. Add that to the moral and economic decline of our country, and the world in general – signs of the times. Best to be prepared…

It wasn’t a joke, he couldn’t name the presidents that he spoke with because there was only one, so he stumbled around and deflected towards Nancy Reagan. He could have just said “not as of yet, but I will be meeting with….” But instead he had to try and lie about meeting with them all but couldn’t seem to name any so he makes a lame joke and looks like a fool.

We don’t need a comedian running the country, or an amatuer. But I guess we are stuck now.

Pinocchio, Snow White and Superman are walking in the street when they come across a sign ‘Beauty contest for the most beautiful woman in the world.’

‘I am entering,’ said Snow White. After half an hour she comes out and they ask her, ‘Well, how was it?’

First Place ‘, said Snow White.

They continue walking and they see a sign: ‘Contest for the strongest man in the world.’

‘I’m entering,’ says Superman and after half an hour he returns and they ask him, ‘How was it?’

      ‘First Place ,’ answers Superman.

They continue walking when they see a sign: ‘Contest! Who is the greatest liar in the world?’

Pinocchio enters. After half an hour he returns with tears in his eyes.

      ‘What happened?’ they asked,

‘Who is this guy Obama?’ asked Pinocchio.

If you think we here at SM are wrong for finding this gaffe offensive, take a look at the reaction of the people behind him when he says it, priceless. They better get used to that feeling they got in their stomache at that moment, there will be more.

Somebody get this guy a teleprompter, quick!

I watched the press conference and my jaw hit the floor when he made that comment, such a gaff is NOT what you expect from a world leader, along with the 57 States of America, i think this just shows that Obama is a great reader from script, a bit like a Holywood actor, just what i thought he was all along. In the UK we have Prince Philip who is quite capable of causing an international incident by saying the most inappropriate offensive things he is our “king of gaff”.

Grasping at straws much? Insult to Nancy Reagan? You have GOT to be KIDDING me. Typical one sided bullshit. McCain has made WORST rape jokes and I didn’t read a PEEP on your website about them. FIGURES! I will NEVER read your website again. Toodles.
