17 Year Old Austin Sigg Charged as Adult with 17 Counts Including Felony Murder, Kidnapping & Sexual Assault in Death of Jessica Rideway and Attempted Kidnapping in Ketner Lake Earlier this Year

Sorry, 17 year old’s need to face the death penalty as well.

Austin Sigg, the 17 year old teenager who confessed to the death of 10 year old Jessica Ridgeway, has been charged as an adult. Austin Sigg has been charged with 17 different counts that include felony murder, kidnapping and sexual assault. Eleven of the counts are related to 10 year old Jessica Ridgeway that include, murder in the first degree, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, robbery and sexual assault on a child.

Sigg also faces an additional six charges relating to an attempted kidnapping of a 22 year old female jogger in Ketner Lake earlier this year. In this case, Sigg is charged with attempted murder in the first degree, attempted sexual assault and attempted second-degree kidnapping.

The teenager accused in the kidnapping and murder of Jessica Ridgeway has been charged with 17 different counts including felony murder, kidnapping and sexual assault.

Austin Sigg, 17, made his first court appearance in Jefferson County court Tuesday morning.

He will be charged as an adult in the case.

Sigg faces a total of 11 charges directly related to Jessica Ridgeway’s death.  They include: four counts of murder in the first degree, two counts of second-degree kidnapping, robbery and sexual assault on a child.

Austin Sigg will be charged as an adult; however, sadly he will not face the death penalty thanks to the Supreme Court ruling  in Roper v. Simmons that the death penalty was cruel and unusual for people who committed crimes while under the age of 18. Really, because of months we cannot stick a needle in a killers arm? If there was ever a case that cried out for the death penalty, it was the heinous kidnapping, sexual assault, murder and dismembering her body.

Sorry, but when a person hits the trifecta of kidnapping, murder and dismemberment, you should not be allowed to live no matter how old you are. Today, 15 year old’s are no different from 18 year old’s. We need to ask ourselves as a society, who do our laws protect? Are you kidding me that we let this twisted, evil SOB live!

Obama Official Matthew Olsen, Director of the National Counterterrorism Center Says Benghazi Killings was a terrorist attack

The gig is up for the Obama spin machine and this Obama foreign policy debacle …

Finally after eight days of denial and insulting the intelligence of Americans and spinning the truth of what happened, an Obama official admits that the attacks on the Benghazi consulate and the murder of Ambassador Stevens and three other Americans was the results of a terrorist attack. Even the Obama spin machine could not cover this travesty up. After shamelessly stating that the attacks were a result of an anti-Mohammad video trailer of a movie no one has seen, the lie is over. Four dead and an American Ambassador to Libya murdered, sodomized and dragged through the streets on the 11th anniversary of 9-11. This Administration is going to have a hard time explaining to total and complete security failure.

The Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi was in fact “a terrorist attack” and the U.S. government has indications that members of al Qaeda were directly involved, a top Obama administration official said Wednesday morning.

“I would say yes, they were killed in the course of a terrorist attack on our embassy,” Matt Olsen, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, said Wednesday at a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, in response to questioning from Chairman Joe Lieberman (I-CT) about the attack that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

As for who was responsible, Olsen said it appears there were attackers from a number of different militant groups that operate in and around Benghazi, and said there are already signs of al Qaeda involvement.

“We are looking at indications that individuals involved in the attack may have had connections to al Qaeda or al Qaeda’s affiliates; in particular, al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb,” he said.

However, after previously spinning the obvious that the Benghazi attacks were terror related, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney declined to say that security was adequate at the Libyan consulate in Benghazi. Carney was rather silent on blaming the video for the attacks. The gig is up and this foreign policy fiasco will have major ramifications. No wonder Sec, of State Hillary Clinton was no where to be found on the Sunday talk shows this past weekend.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney today declined to say that security was adequate at the Libyan consulate in Benghazi during that the assault that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya last week on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, saying the matter is being studied.

Asked by Ed Henry of Fox News is there was sufficient security at the consulate, Carney replied, “I am simply saying that this is a matter under investigation.”

Carney added, however, that there were  steps “taken both seen and unseen in advance in preparation for times like 9/11.”

Todd Akin Asks For Forgiveness and Releases New “Rape Is an Evil Act” Ad (Video)

Hmm, maybe Todd Akin is not going to step down as the Republican Senate candidate of Missouri after all?

As of last night pretty much everyone was asking Akin to step down following his ill advised “rape” comments. It was also reported that he was supposed to have a presser this morning at 9 am where most thought that he would announce that he would quit the race. However, overnight the following “Rape Is an Evil Act” ad was released and he asked for forgiveness.

Missouri Senate candidate Todd Akin has recorded a television ad asking for “forgiveness” from the voters of his state and acknowledging that he used “the wrong words in the wrong way” when he suggested last weekend that rape rarely leads to pregnancy.

The Republican congressman has come under heavy fire from national Republicans for his comments and has been urged by some to drop his candidacy before the no-penalty withdrawal deadline of 5 p.m. today. Akin has said he will move ahead with his bid against Democratic Sen. Claire McCaskill and the spot is an indication that he plans to follow through.

The commercial, which was shared with POLITICO, shows Akin speaking directly to the camera and explaining that he has compassion for the victims of rape.

“Rape is an evil act. I used the wrong words in the wrong way and for that I apologize. As the father of two daughters, I want tough justice for predators. I have a compassionate heart for the victims of sexual assault. I pray for them,” Akin says. “The fact is, rape can lead to pregnancy. The truth is, rape has many victims.”

A note to Todd Akins, politics also has many victims who make foolish, misguided and ignorant comments on hot button topics like rape. Asking for forgiveness is perfectly fine and you may be; however, that does not mean that you can stay in the Missouri Senate race. Akin is toxic and no one is going to touch him. If Akin stays in the race it tells much about him as a man. Not only is he prone to ignorant comments and able to be baited into an argument he can never win, he also cares more about himself than he does his party or America. As stated at the PJ Tatler, Akin  is about to drag the entire republican down in the mess of his creating. This was exactly the issue that Democrats and the complicit Obama MSM needed to distract the political talk away from the economy and jobs and to a lesser, but more emotional topic.

The entire party is in danger of being dragged down because Akin and his allies among social conservatives only see a single issue — abortion — in the candidate’s words. In fact, his musings about a woman’s body magically rejecting a rapist’s sperm play to the notion of Republicans being anti-science. His ill informed statement about “legitimate” rape angered not only women, but every father in America with a daughter. His ignorance about incidents of rape not resulting in pregnancies revealed the candidate to be shockingly unfit to serve.

The issue isn’t abortion; the issue is whether Mr. Akin and his social conservative allies will become living symbols of every nasty thing the Democrats say about Republicans. It’s a slam dunk, no brainer, sure thing that Democrats and the Obama campaign will seek to wrap Akin’s words around the necks of every GOP candidate, including the top of the ticket, if he stays in the race.

Charles Krauthammer Says “Akin’s Gotta Leave, He’s Toxic …There’s Enough Stupidity in Congress, We don’t Have to Add to It ” … Akin Told Not to Come to RNC Convention

He’s gotta go …

Charles Kraththammer weighed in last night on Fox News ‘Special Report’ on the Todd Akin controversy and stated, “Akin’s gotta leave”. Kraithammer went on to say, “he’s toxic, no body will touch him, Republicans are not going to support him … it isn’t only that it was offensive and toxic, it was unbelievable stupid. And there is enough stupidity in Congress that we don’t have to add to it in this large amount. This guy has got to leave.”

Sadly, Akin’s ignorant comments could have most likely cost the GOP the Missouri Senate seat that was considered the most vulnerable for Democrats. Now this. Unreal. Thanks Todd Akin, you gave the Democrats and Obama the issue they wanted to distract from the economy and jobs and most likely cost the Republican party the chance to retake the US Senate.

The toxic Akin has been told not to come to the Republican National Convention. It is obvious that Akin has no place to go but to step down. He has the support of no one and there is no real way to explain your way out of his comments. The media is not going to let this go and he is damaged goods.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus appeared on CNN’s “Out Front” on Monday evening and spoke to Erin Burnett about the controversial statements made by Rep. Todd Akin, Missouri Republican, regarding rape. He called for Mr. Akin, who is running for Senate against Democrat Claire McCaskill, to “step aside and let someone else run for that office.” Chairman Priebus also said that he “prefer that Todd Akin do the right thing for our party and our candidates” and “not come” to the upcoming RNC Convention in Tampa.

EXIT QUESTION: Notice the double standard between Todd Akin and Vice President Joe Biden’s comments? A comment about rape and a racially charged comment meant to insight blacks and play to the fears of hate and slavery. How come Democrats and the MSM did not come out against Biden like Republicans and the MSM came out against Akin?

UPDATE I: A rather suspect poll from Democrat pollster PPP has Akin still ahead of McCaskill 44% to 43%, following the toxic meltdown of Akin in the wake of his rape comments. However, much like Legal Insurrection, count me in the cynic category as well.

Maybe Akin could win Missouri, but this was just a flash poll so it’s hard to read too much into it.

If I were a cynic, I might suggest that PPP — a Democratic pollster – did the flash poll knowing it was too soon for the effect of the controversy to make its way into the electorate in the hope of keeping Akin’s hope alive before he makes his decision overnight whether to step aside.

Update:  As pointed out in the comments and also by John McCormack on Twitter, PPP only read Akin’s statement to the respondents after they answered the question as to preference, which would tend to help Akin in the PPP poll.  Okay, now I’m a cynic.

After Rep. Todd Akin Ill Advised Comments on Rape, Mitt Romney, the GOP and Sean Hannity Ask Him to Step Down as Republican Senate Candidate in Missouri

What a difference a couple of days makes. Todd Akin as gone from almost a sure thing in Missouri to unseat the incumbent and one of the most vulnerable Democrat Senators Claire McCaskill to making one of he most ill-advised comments and then following it up with an even weaker response to his disastrous rape comment … Akin now being asked by pretty much the entire GOP to step down.

Representative Todd Akin, the Republican nominee for senator from Missouri, became nationally notorious yesterday for saying something stupid. In the course of explaining why he believes abortion should be illegal even when pregnancies result from rape, he said that in cases of “legitimate rape” the victim’s body has defense mechanisms that usually prevent pregnancy.

Give the man points for concision, at least: His remarks combined several mistakes with brutal efficiency. There is no evidence for Akin’s biological claim. The frequency with which rape results in pregnancy has no bearing on whether abortion should be allowed when it does. And while it is not completely clear what point Akin was trying to make with the phrase, “legitimate rape” should not appear in any good one.

Sorry, although I think some of his comments were taken a bit out of context, I to believe that Akin must step down and make way for some one else who can actually win the Senate seat for the GOP. Personally, I cannot believe that a conservative with this view was not able to properly and effectively communicate their views. What, did Akin think the MSM was going to give him a pass? At this point Akin is damaged goods and must step down for as Fox News Sean Hannity stated to Akin,You know you could cost us the Senate, right? This is not about one person, their ego and their inability to not communicate their position. This election and the potential Republicans taking back the US Senate is too important.

Via BuzzFeed, it’s important that people like Hannity, Coulter, and the boss emeritus are leaning on this guy too, not just Romney and Reince Priebus. Without pressure from all-stars on the right, he can dig in and turn it into a “weak-ass establishment RINOs are selling me out to the Democrats” populist attack on D.C. Republicans.

Crossroads pulls out of Missouri after Akin comments. Todd Akin rape comments prompt GOP to pull campaign funding, calls to exit race.

According to TPM, Todd Akin’s advisers make preparations to withdrawal tomorrow
