Aruban Tourism Down Again in May 2006 …
Aruban tourism down again … Tourism down 6.73%for May 2006 as compared to 2005 and down 10.64% year to date, according to what Aruba is reporting.
When will the ATA and Aruban authorities admit that the decline began due to one event and can only be fixed by one occurrence … Justice for Natalee.
Â
Amigoe, August 23, 2006: Fewer tourists in May Cab drivers feel the falling-off of the number of tourists directly in their wallet.
ARUBA — 52.050 Tourists visited Aruba in May. That is 6.73 percent less than last year. The decrease was 10.64 percent for the first five months of this year.Â

An Aruban Controlled Air Space … That is a scary proposition.
Aruba controlling their own airspace? Not feasible … more like not a good idea. These people cant handle an investigation of a tourist that disappeared on their island … now they want to handle their air space and the safety of airplanes and passengers. That will be good for tourism.
Minister Briesen furthermore said that the radar is not working because when the Department of Civil Aviation requested funds to upgrade their personnel in order to operate the radar, the funds were not available. Even if the radar is made operational, the department does not have any qualified personnel to operate it.
Lack of qualified personnel … sounds like a reoccurring situation on Aruba, doesn’t it?

Aruba Adds Insult to Injury by sending Beth Twitty a Visitor Survey after Natalee Vanishes
Talk about adding insult to injury. Talk about bad form. Talk about not having a clue to take Beth Twitty’s name off a mailing list to ask how her stay in Aruba was. Aruba, have a heart. Exactly how do you not preempt this stock letter from going out to the mother who’s daughter went missing on your island? Are you people serious? We are beginning to wonder if there is anything you get right. It is astonishing that at this point and time, after all that has gone on, Aruba would further rub salt in the wounds. What a tourism PR department you people have.
Let us give you the short version of how this might be answered. I lost my daughter on Aruba and you covered up a crime. Other than that, everything was fine … GEEZ.
Aruba Visitor Survey, fill out at your own risk.

Just how do you think Beth Twitty will answer these questions?
a. Overall great experience. Is there a category worse than poor seeing that Natalee Holloway went missing, was most likely sexually assaulted and the investigation was a cover up?
b. Has great beaches. You mean the great beaches that Joran Van der Sloot claimed to have left Natalee Holloway on and abandoned her? Or the beaches where the suspects have allegedly claimed to have buried her?
d. Is Safe and Secure. I guess we can guess how Beth Twitty would answer this one. It would read, see Safe Travels.
f. Has friendly local people. Like those 3 friendly suspects that left with Natalee Holloway, sexually assaulted her, were last seen with her and lied about having ever dropped her off where she was staying.
l. Has great night life. Yes, Carlos n’ Charlie’s is a killer time.

Joran Van der Sloot, business as usual … You are Still a Suspect … What’s Good for JVDS is bad for Aruba
Aruba loses another tourist … Another unsatisfied customer … Why would they be when they are insulted told they did something illegal. Isn’t that priceless coming from Aruba.
If Aruba ever wondered why its economy and tourism are down the drain, they need to look no further than the following pictures.
We would really like to know what the hell the Marriott was thinking. Do you honestly think the other paying guests want a suspect in a disappearance of an American girl hanging around pool side? Do you think this is why people pay money, what few do, to come to Aruba? Aruba, you have no one to blame but yourselves for the lack of tourism. This is the way you handled the matter? So much for catering to the tourists.

The Marriott had ever right and obligation to ask Joran Van der Sloot to leave their premises, its private property. This is what the Aruba Hotels think of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. They could care less. Joran Van der Sloot is treated like a normal individual, not the suspect that he is.

Essence de Aruba, What is the Smell?
The new Scent taking over the Island of Aruba
(What’s good for the Van der Sloots is terrible for Aruba)
(Vanderbilt – ‘06)
Aruba does rather well exporting Aloe to the world. Recently, the Island began exporting an odor to the tourist community.
Sales are sluggish at this time, but, hopes are currently hindered by lies and mistruths.
A ‘poster boy’ label complements the mystery-evoking smell.
Potential customers feel that a strong dose of Truth and Contrition would boost the market overnight.
