President Obama Misses Putts Following Quake, Blames Eathquake & GWB

Missed putts … microcosm of the Obama Presidency.

We do not even have to ask what Barack Obama was doing today when the 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit the East Coast that was reported to have been felt from Toronto, Canada to Atlanta, GA.  To answer the “how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop” questions for Media Matters as to whether Obama was bike riding or golf, its was golf. Like there was ever a question.

According to accounts, following the quake Obama went back to his golf game as if nothing happened and pursued to miss a putt. Then he missed the tap in putt as well.  Obama picked his ball up and called it an eagle.  Rumor has it that he blamed the earthquake for his poor putting today, but not before he also blamed GWB, the Japanese earthquake, European headwinds, the Arab Spring and the Tea Party.

Shortly after 2 p.m., reporters were ushered onto the fairway of the first hole, where the president and his party — Democratic powerbroker Vernon Jordan, aide Marvin Nicholson and friend Eric Whitaker — were already deep into putting.

Obama didn’t appear to be on his game.

Obama took two practice strokes before trying to sink a putt from several feet away. He missed, and tried to tap it in, but missed again. Obama picked up the ball to allow the others to play.

As quoted from above, “Obama didn’t appear be on his game”. That’s an understatement. He has not been on his game for quite some time.  All America has do do is take a look at the economy, jobs, debt and the overall misery to know that not only has Obama not been on his game, but he has no game. Americans are tending to agree as seen by Obama’s 38% job approval rating.

Mediaite, please don’t try and make more of a mocking post than what is intended. There is this thing called, irony, sarcasm and an imagery that no president would ever want. It’s bad enough that the US economy has been experiencing an earthquake and seismic tremors under Obama’s policies, but real one’s as well? And of all times when Obama is on vacation, playing golf and he whiffs while putting.  Imagine, just imagine if the 5.9 magnitude earthquake caused more damage than it did. Thankfully, it did not. What a photo-op, Obama golfing during a quake. Maybe he can make up for it when Hurricane Irene hits the US later this week.

Tennessee Lady Vols Legendary Coach Pat Summitt Says She has been Diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia, Alzheimer’s Type … Could Retire at the End of Season

ROCKY TOP ROCKED TONIGHT BY THE BOMBSHELL FROM PAT SUMMITT.

Sad and stunning news out of Rocky Top nation and Knoxville, Tennessee. Legendary Lady Vols basketball coach Pat Summitt announced today that she has been diagnosed with early onset dementia. Stunned, I am completely stunned. Pat Summitt, not only the greatest NCAA coach in the woman’s game, past present and future … she might be top 5 NCAA basketball coaches all-time, men’s or woman’s game. I am just stunned and speechless and that does not happen often. Pat Summitt was a pioneer before it was even en vogue to be so.

In a video released on YouTube Tuesday, the 59-year-old Summitt announced she has been diagnosed with early-onset dementia, Alzheimer’s type, following a series of test conducted at the Mayo Clinic in May.

In the statement, Coach Summitt says, “Throughout my career, I have always made it a point that my life and my basketball program were an open book.

With that in mind, I have something I’d like to share with my Tennessee families — the university, boosters and fans of Lady Vol basketball.

Once last season concluded, I addressed some ongoing concerns regarding my health. After consulting with my local physicians, I decided to visit the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Earlier this summer, the doctors at the Mayo Clinic diagnosed me with early onset dementia, Alzheimer’s Type, at the age of 59.

Pat’s 1,071 career victories make her the winningest coach in NCAA basketball history and her 8 NCAA titles make her second to that of only the legendary UCLA coach John Wooden. Pat Summitt is known for two things, winning and that glare.  There are very few coaches that I respect more than Pat Summitt, she single handed helped put woman’s college basketball on the map. For years woman’s college basketball began and ended at Rocky Top in Nashville, TN.

By the way, did I mention I was an avid UCONN Lady Huskies basketball fan? Long before there was the undefeated Lady Huskies, Rebecca Lobo,  school. Rebecca Lobo, Jennifer Rizzotti, Shea Ralph, Nykesha Sales, Swin Cash, Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Tina Charles, Maya Moore and  Coach Geno Auriemma … there was pat Summitt and the Tennessee Lady Vols that owned the court. There has become nothing better to watch in college sports than UCONN – UT, two programs that do it right and have driven coaches who not only care about winning, but care about their girls.

More from ESPN.

That Summitt has not gone unappreciated proves only that we do not always fail to recognize genius in our own time. Much as each and every tribute must make her face flush with the discomfort of someone raised to shun such things, she thankfully has experienced the love and respect universally directed her way.

Long may that continue because she is not saying goodbye.

Long may her legacy continue to grow anywhere there is a scoreboard when she eventually does.

God bless you Pat, your legacy will last an eternity.

Florida Court of Appeals Rejects Casey Anthony’s Appeal … Must Report to Probation Officer by Friday

CASEY ANTHONY LOSES PROBATION APPEAL …

Casey Anthony, the tot-mom who was acquitted of murdering her daughter Caylee Anthony, lost her appeal today as a Florida Court of Appeals stated that she must report to her probation officer by this Friday. The one year probation stems from the Ms. Anthony’s check fraud case.

An error was made on the written sentencing documents in that case, which allowed Anthony to serve her probation while in jail awaiting trial for murder. Judge Stan Strickland, who presided over the check fraud case, had intended for her to serve probation once she left jail.

This is hardly any consolation to the colossal blunder committed by the jury in Casey’s Anthony’s murder trial that allowed her to go free in the murder of her child. It was obvious that Casey Anthony and her defense attorneys knew what the intent of the probation was and she should not benefit from a clerical error. Hell, hasn’t Casey benefited from enough errors at this point? Casey Anthony should consider herself lucky at this point as in the game of life, she is playing with house money.

Her defense attorney, Jose Baez, said earlier this week that she had returned to Florida to await the fate of her probation appeal. A three judge panel on Florida Court of Appeals settled the issue today by rejecting her appeal.

Anthony was ordered earlier this month by Judge Belvin Perry to return to Florida by Aug. 26 to serve a year’s probation stemming from a check fraud conviction. Before her first degree murder trial, Anthony pleaded guilty to stealing checks from best friend Amy Huizenga during the time that Caylee was missing.

The Court of Appeals slapped down both Casey Anthony and her defense attorneys. Its just too bad that the jury in the Casey Anthony murder trial did not have the insight and where with all of these judges. They saw right through Casey and her defense attorneys.

In the written order filed by the Fifth District Court of Appeals today, the judges reprimanded Anthony and her defense team for turning the sentencing process into a “game.”

“The petitioner and her lawyers were well aware that her probationary placement was not to begin until her release from confinement. The petitioner may not, under these circumstances, take advantage of the administrative error of the Department of Corrections,” the order states.
