President Obama Misses Putts Following Quake, Blames Eathquake & GWB

Missed putts … microcosm of the Obama Presidency.

We do not even have to ask what Barack Obama was doing today when the 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit the East Coast that was reported to have been felt from Toronto, Canada to Atlanta, GA.  To answer the “how many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop” questions for Media Matters as to whether Obama was bike riding or golf, its was golf. Like there was ever a question.

According to accounts, following the quake Obama went back to his golf game as if nothing happened and pursued to miss a putt. Then he missed the tap in putt as well.  Obama picked his ball up and called it an eagle.  Rumor has it that he blamed the earthquake for his poor putting today, but not before he also blamed GWB, the Japanese earthquake, European headwinds, the Arab Spring and the Tea Party.

Shortly after 2 p.m., reporters were ushered onto the fairway of the first hole, where the president and his party — Democratic powerbroker Vernon Jordan, aide Marvin Nicholson and friend Eric Whitaker — were already deep into putting.

Obama didn’t appear to be on his game.

Obama took two practice strokes before trying to sink a putt from several feet away. He missed, and tried to tap it in, but missed again. Obama picked up the ball to allow the others to play.

As quoted from above, “Obama didn’t appear be on his game”. That’s an understatement. He has not been on his game for quite some time.  All America has do do is take a look at the economy, jobs, debt and the overall misery to know that not only has Obama not been on his game, but he has no game. Americans are tending to agree as seen by Obama’s 38% job approval rating.

Mediaite, please don’t try and make more of a mocking post than what is intended. There is this thing called, irony, sarcasm and an imagery that no president would ever want. It’s bad enough that the US economy has been experiencing an earthquake and seismic tremors under Obama’s policies, but real one’s as well? And of all times when Obama is on vacation, playing golf and he whiffs while putting.  Imagine, just imagine if the 5.9 magnitude earthquake caused more damage than it did. Thankfully, it did not. What a photo-op, Obama golfing during a quake. Maybe he can make up for it when Hurricane Irene hits the US later this week.

I live in south-western VA in the mountains. My son was in his closet pulling out stuff to go back to college and I was working at my desk in the room next to it. We both felt the shaking for about 10 seconds that rattled the entire house. He ran out and said what was that?! I knew asap it had to be an earthquake. Because we had no damage I was actually rather excited to have gotten to feel what it was like to experience one :)

We also had one of those tornados this April that did a LOT of damage to our downtown community. That was scary..the earthquake? Not for us. Least we didn’t have damage to our home this time. The tornado wiped out our heat pump and destroyed all of our screens as well as ruin our new paint on one side of the house (big hail). I’ll take a little tremor over a tornado ANY day.

Glad you were safe MOI. We are buckling down in New England this weekend, we have survived a lot of brutal weather…but it never hurts to be prepared.

      ;)

BREAKING NEWS: President Obama has just confirmed that the DC earthquake occurred on a rare and obscure fault-line, apparently known as “Bush’s Fault”.

Well said regarding the fact that the President was off his game and while it’s fun to joke about, the hole that this administration has putted us into is bound to affect our economy for generations. It isn’t funny to look into the innocent eyes of our children knowing that this is the legacy that we have to pass on to them.

I’ve heard it said that the rich are making out rather nicely in the state we find ourselves in… but, it’s not them that we worry about. When men and women are not gainfully employed and able to provide, a sense of worthlessness sets in. Hopelessness can evolve into a variety of problems that threatens our security and our society as a whole. We are our brother’s keeper. Our successes are determined, not by how well the wealthy are faring, but how well the weakest ones among us are doing.

After the earthquake, our concerns are directed toward an oncoming storm that, if it hits, is sure to cause damage. I dare to say that the weather, itself, is a reflection of the state of affairs that we find ourselves in. If the shaking of the ground was not enough to arouse us from our sleeping state, perhaps it will take the eye of the storm, itself, to metaphorically wake us up.

      Bless the Children…
