What Joran Van der Sloot cannot explain away is why he violently murdered 21 year old Stephany Flores, tried to clean up the crime and then fled the scene of the crime.
The case against accused murderer Joran Van der Sloot just go a bit more dicey for the 22 year old “Little Dutch boy” in the murder case of Stephany Flores in Peru. According to reports from CNN, DNA and skin was found underneath the fingernails of the victim. It has not been released who the DNA belongs to, but we can make an educated guess.
Peruvian police said Thursday they found skin underneath the fingernails of a 21-year-old student Joran van der Sloot is accused of killing.
Miguel Canlla Ore, a colonel in the Peruvian National Police and head of homicide, told journalist Victoria Macchi that the amount of skin was small and that laboratory DNA tests that might indicate who it came from had not been completed.
Peruvian authorities have charged the 22-year-old Dutchman with murder in the death of Stephany Flores, whose body was found June 2 in a hotel room registered to van der Sloot.

One thing is for certain when it comes to the murder case of Stephany Flores vs. the Natalee Holloway one in Aruba, Joran Van der Sloot will not be released from prison due to any lack of evidence this time. Between communications, video, a confession even though it was later retracted and now DNA … Joran Van der Sloot finds himself in a world of trouble.
He can scream his rights were violated all he wants, Joran can whine that he was tricked into a confession, he can blame other in some grand conspiracy that he was lured to Peru to play poker … the fact remains no one made him kill Stephanie Flores in the violent manner he did. The fact that he committed the murder on the 5th anniversary of the disappearance and death is not lost in the equation.
A criminal with their back against the way and no hope in sight is going to try everything to lie their way out of the crime. What do they have to lose? The fact of the matter is that Joran Van der Slootis a sociopathth, he is not crazy … he is, however, crazy like a fox. Joran Van der Sloot gamed the Aruban system through many outside forces, now he thinks he can do the same in Peru.

I heard he will now be moved to Lurigancho Prison. Where the prisoners run the prison. His mother expects him to to make it out.
After what he has been saying about being tortured and his right violated I suppose that now they will be violated for sure(so he knows the difference?) and he will surely be in for the full 35 (yay!!!)

This is Elton Garcia? The Albanian…the one who is camera shy, who gambled with him, asked “got the woman?” and then called the Hotel which caused them to find the body of Stephany Flores.

The 22-year-old Van der Sloot is now suggesting to the newspaper that he was lured to Peru by the FBI to facilitate extraditing him to the U.S. He claims a man named “Garcia” invited him to a poker tournament in Lima, Peru, where van der Sloot met Flores.
“Garcia arranged and paid for everything for me. Looking back, I can’t believe I let myself be lured. I hardly knew that guy. It was just a setup,” the paper quoted him as saying.

well im pretty sure the dna under STEPHANY’S nails is joran’s and after seeing the photos, this poor girl was tortured, and probably very scared. i saw this on Nancy Grace last night. she had a couple of numb-nut lawyers who said that the DNA might have been ‘planted’ and that if it comes back NOT jorans they won’t be able to prove anything. attention numb-nuts: this is not aruba, this is Peru…..it WILL come back as jvds’s DNA. betcha.

Glad to hear DNA was found under Stephany’s nails. Wasn’t sure if her attempts to defend herself would reap DNA under her nails, especially if Joran was fully clothed at the time. Bruises can occur under clothing. Photos show bruising on his front torso.
The significance of DNA under Stephany’s nails signifies a struggle which contradicts Joran’s confession of “no struggle”. Bruising also indicates a struggle as an expert witness has said bruising doesn’t occur most mortem. We can expect more evidence to come which should poke holes in Joran’s “manslaughter” version. The real story may show a much more brutal event instead of the “sanitized” confession of hitting Stephany once.
Now Joran seems to be focusing on ways to get the case dropped or verdict/outcome lessened. He’s been schooled already, from his father, about the difference in threshold between murder and manslaughter and how to look for cracks in the system to use for his defense.
Joran’s private attorney has explained enough of the Peruvian judicial system to give his client avenues to pursue for his defense.
I pray for justice for the young girl who fought so valiantly. That courage will play a pivotal role in revealing what truly happened in Joran’s hotel room. As brutal as the evidence may become it is necessary to show Joran’s crime, in full.
Stephany is a hero. Her family is an example of “goodness” under horrible circumstances. I’m so sorry for their loss.
In the end I believe he will be found guilty of 1st degree murder and robbery by the 3 Peruvian judges. He won’t be able to get out of this one. If his DNA is found under Stephany’s nails it seals his fate by directly linking him to Stephany at the time of her murder. JVDS’s karma is coming to the surface.

I am surprised to read a statement made by the Flores’ family attorney, Edward Alvarez, on the RNW website indicating Joran had called Stephany’s cell phone prior to the night she followed him to his hotel room.

You know this narcissistic psycho is really in his heyday! Luxury accommodations! All the attention and notoriety! Daily interviews and marriage proposals. He’s surviving, his civil rights. Van der Sloot has been watching to many TV detective stories. Killers, as a norm, don’t breakdown at the end confessing all. They go to trial based on evidence.
Seems the damning evidence against Van der Sloot, although known to the Peruvian authorities, is being released bit by bit, likes nails pounded in a coffin.
The coffee cup tape shows Miss Flores had already been murdered. Now we have this picture of Van der Sloot with scratches on his chest. If his DNA is found under her fingernails wouldn’t that indicate the shirt was off during the struggle?
According to his story, the shirt was used to finish Miss Flores off by suffocating her. Would you remove your shirt while in a life ending struggle? Joran states:
“Because I also had blood on my shirt. There was also blood on bed. So I took my shirt and I put it on her face and pressed hard to the point where I killed her — to the point where I killed Stephany.”
It’s not “I took my shirt (OFF)”. I would have to look more towards a sexual crime. She was probably lured to the room using computer gambling as a ploy.
You can see from the tape she was not comfortable walking by the desk or going into the room. Her vice was gambling.
As with Natalee Holloway, possibly others in between, and now Miss Flores, Van der Sloot’s interaction with women when together alone is 2-dimensional. When on the prowl he uses the victim’s weaknesses, date rape drugs, or force. Don’t believe he accepts “no” as an acceptable reply.
On the bright side, neither will his cell mates.
My friend just translated Joren’s tatoo from Dutch to English. It says, “Iam murdered.”

His mother has stated that she was having him committed to a psychiatric institution, scheduled for 2 days prior to his leaving for Peru. Has anyone checked to determine the validity of this statement? To which institution was he supposedly being committed – arrangements surely were already in place? And for what reason? If her story is true, then he was considered a large enough threat to have him committed, so why wasn’t he detained in some way awaiting transfer to the institution. And my biggest question is what did he do to finally push her into having him committed, if indeed that story is true? Could he have harmed / attempted to harm someone else and in another “protect Joran” move, he was given the choice of commitment because the authorities knew they couldn’t cover for him again?
Also, and switching gears momentarily, by granting these interviews with Anita van der Sloot, they are in effect helping to pay for his defense since I think she gets paid for them. I believe I read that she was paid $100,000 for just one interview. And then his lawyer decided not to quit? Coincidence? I imagine that that would be a nice “retainer” for a defense lawyer. Suddenly his lawyer goes from wanting off the case, receiving threats, fearing for his safety, to zealously defending Joran. Money talks. Mrs. Van der Sloot has nothing helpful to discuss. I believe it is all a part of trying to establish an insanity defense. She wishes she could sit and talk with the victims’ families and “give them a big hug”? Oh please…..did no one see through that? Gain sympathy, empathize with her, sway the emotions of people to her family. I really wish no one else would interview her, as it is probably only serving to fund Joran’s defense. I digressed from my questions of has her story of having him committed been validated, and WHY…..what happened to resort to what would be a drastic, no other way out, measure for her / Joran? She can’t be as financially troubled as stated if she had the means to supposedly have him committed. I’m just saying………………

On Anita: She has finally caved to the overwhelming gruesome evidence (forensics and video tape) on Stephany’s murder. And yet, as conflicted as she is, she sent him clothes (thru the Dutch TV interviewer) and still says “He is not responsible for Natalee.” (Although she has finally, finally expressed compassion for Beth.) I hope (for her own soul and redemption), she will come to realize that, as he has been and is lying day after day about Stephany, he was also lying about Natalee. She still seems unable to cross that barrier into the truth. Hopefully, her brain will overcome her emotions eventually. And hopefully, so hopefully, I pray she will eventually tell what her husband and 2 younger sons told her about that night 5 years ago.
Gail, I hope that any monies received by Anita from interviews go not to Joran, but to the support and schooling of her 2 other sons. Can this woman give up on Joran finally and instead support the other 2 brothers? Control of women (especially Anita) – did anyone else notice in many videos and photos 5 years ago, Joran towering above mom and always wrapping his arm around his mother – like he was the parent and she was the child? Very telling psychological body language. Who was and is the parent? Who controlled the family dynamics?

I have moronically fed into my own “Oh, he got off in Aruba; somehow he’ll get away with it here” mentality. Shame on me! Naw, ain’t gonna happen. He will go down. And I do believe his cellmate has been given an offer for a reduced sentence to tell all he can get and tho he probably will get a trial so as not to upset the Dutch Embassy’s international relations, it’s all a smoke screen. He is going down. It’s just that we will have to wait 1-2 years for the trial. But be happy, within the time of the limit on extortion charges being presented in the US, Peru will deliver him to the US to stand trial, then it will be back to Peru (if still alive) and then return to the US to serve his time her for extortion. Greg: Yes, the “literal” translation is “I am murdered” or “I am a dead man”. However, in some circles, it is also a slang expression, as in US gang language that can be interpreted as “I am a killer” or “I am a murderer”.

I don’t think it matters much. He is either competent to stand trial or he isn’t. His defense will try to suggest that he isn’t. Then they will show how is mistreated. In the end, they will try to drum up enough sympathy to get that treaty signed so he can serve time in the Netherlands.
I think he has no hope of an “innocent” verdict here, so they are going to try the “technical/procedural issues” and the “look how I am mistreated” defenses and see what sticks.

WHAT? There was a dead woman in his room. He was seen entering the room with a woman who turns up dead 3 hours later. He was seen leaving the room in a different shirt – faking going for coffee. He then left a few minutes later with his bags, her money and national ID car, and took her car.
In his confession he talks about all the blood and his need to get out of there. How did he know that if he wasn’t there? Why did he describe suffocating Stephany with his shirt and his shirt was found around her head if he wasn’t there?
DNA under Stephany’s nails is merely icing on the cake for a prosecutor.

Dave talked to Dennis Jacobs about his missing daughter, and cop Dennis Jacobs(PIG) said to him.. How much money do you have? When Stephany Flores first was missing her family said they thought she was kidnapped.. just like Beth thought right off her daughter was kidnapped. Aruba laughed and made fun of Beth over saying that.. They even accused her of setting up her own daughters disappearance, all because she said kidnapped. Anita and Paulus was still peddling the story, she ran away from her terrible family.
In Peru cops were all over the story when Stephany was reported missing. A few days later Joran was in custody..
In Aruba 5 plus years later.. Joran and the Kalpoes were paraded around like rock stars.. Cops, spokespeople, Kalpoes, Joran, their parents were out trashing the victim and her family..lying, hiding.. witnesses missing, evidence all disappeared or was tampered with. Anything to keep Aruba from telling the truth. Aruba and Paulus, Anita created Joran..All those supporters who cheered at his behaviour. boys in groups going out after female young American tourists. Dennis Jacobs even knew they drug you at Carlos n Charlies.. He warned Dave about it. I remember when a book was gonna be written.. Deepak wanted to write one, but he said he wasn’t going to talk about Natalee, because noone gave a damn about her.

The more horrific posts about Natalee’s disappearance are still so vivid in my mind, 5 years later, though I’m hard pressed to remember what I had for breakfast this morning. One thing I still recall vividly, the youngest Van der sloot boy had told someone there was a dead girl in the bathtub at home. If that young boy knew then, he knows now. I find it hard to believe he didn’t tell his mother when she arrived back from the Netherlands visit. I feel Anita must know the truth about Natalee, or a sanitized version thereof. Face your demons, Anita. It will set you free.

Vinny #40 – the dead girl in the bathtub was just mentioned somewhere way back at the beginning 5 yrs. ago and all I recall it was from the youngest son. I think he mentioned it at school to another kid. The horror of that image just stayed with me and I can’t recall which blog it was on…possibly this one, as it ran the best coverage. Maybe someone else on this blog can recall better than me.
Sociopaths require a home environment that encourages their poor behavior. Telling lies and making up stories to make themselves more important usually begins at an early age and if not “nipped in the bud by parents”, it continues until something bad happens.
I believe that Joran managed to become so dominating in his family that they were all afraid of him and what might happen if they told him no. Look what happened to the younger brother that he beat so bad he was hospitalized.
A good parent would have immediately had him placed in a mental instution for a period of time following the beating of his brother.
I also believe that Paulus was heavily involved in gambling,drugs and human trafficing. There is the distinct possibility that Joran was the schill to capture young women for the benifit of his father. If that is the case, and LE and the justic system in Aruba were in on it, it is no wonder that they would not do the right thing regarding Natalee’s disappearance.
Anita had to know what her husband and Joran were involved with criminal activity.
What is confusing is why did he try to clean up the blood?
My guess is that he was planning on taking the body and the linens with him but didn’t have enough room in his luggage.
Then he had to come up with the fake coffee run to try to cover his tracks. Too bad for him that it didn’t work, but great for the rest of society.
Isn’t it de ja vu…the last time with Natalee wasn’t there blood stained mattresses disposed of and new furniture and bedding brought to the Van der Sloot home. My thot’ was always that when Natalee was picked up, and Satish jumped out of the car at a second casino to make a call, he was alerting the young crowd that it was party time, and they all participated regularly in the victimization/rape of young, pretty, drugged tourists, and that it all went down in Joran’s apartment. Animals.

In JOran confession he said at first this began to happen after the first half hour they entered the room.
I believed he had a long time to consider what he was going to do with the body. I believe he had her tied up and tortured her. I do not believe the murder was fast.
I believe the clean up was part of two plans. One to remove the body. Not possible. The other to confuse the detectives about the crime scene. Trying to remove or smear evidence of what actually happen.
In his first crime with NH there was no physical evidence. He had help to dispose of everything. He knew it was important to cover a crime scene some how. The headboard of the bed looks to be at a slant
