Joran Van der Sloot claims his rights were violated … Hey Joran, what about the rights that you took from Natalee Holloway and Stephany Flores? Oh yea, and their lives too.
Joran Van der Sloot, the ”Little Dutch boy” accused of the murder of 21 year old Stephany Flores in Peru and who had previously confessed to the crime is now singing a much different tune and back to his old manipulative, narcissistic way. Joran Van der Sloot is now claiming that his rights were violated and has filed a complaint against the Peruvian police. Van der Sloot claims that he was denied due process, that evidence was improperly seized and he was denied a proper translator.
Joran van der Sloot has filed a complaint with Peruvian police claiming that his constitutional rights and his right to a defense were violated after his arrest in connection with the killing of a Peruvian woman.
According to a copy of the complaint, obtained by CNN, van der Sloot alleges that his right to due process was denied.
The complaint, given to the Peruvian National Police’s internal investigation unit, singles out the department’s homicide director, Col. Miguel Angel Canlla Ore, and those who work for him.
Van der Sloot said he has been detained without a judicial order.
“I have been denied my right to a proper defense, by imposing an attorney that seems to be the girlfriend of a cop on duty who works in this police department,” the complaint states.
He also alleges that police took his laptop and searched his communications and correspondence without a judicial order.
What else would one expect from a criminal that has evidence that implicated them in a murder dead to rights. Joran claims among a litany of jail house excuses that he was not supplied an interpreter, yet in every VIDEO he is seen communicating perfectly with the police. Joran Van der Sloot, this is just a reminder … YOU ARE NOT IN ARUBA ANY MORE AND DADDY SLOOT IS NOT HERE TO USE INFLUENCE TO GET YOU OUT OF THIS ONE.
Joran Van der Sloot claims that he was confused and coerced into a confession. Wrong Sporter, you were not confused, you had no where to go with your lies as you knew the gig was up and you were guilty of the crime. How exactly is one confused when you were so detailed in the description of how Stephany Flores was killed in his confession?
“There was blood everywhere,” the Dutch national said according to transcripts obtained by CNN. “What am I going to do now? I had blood on my shirt. There was also blood on the bed, so, I took my shirt and put it on her face, pressing hard, until I killed Stephany.”
How could anyone be tricked into say that they killed another person? Seriously. This is the son of a former lawyer and wannabe judge in waiting. Joran Van der Sloot has been through all of this 5 years earlier in Aruba in the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Joran has already used the “I was scared” card in the past. This one trick pony act is getting old. Joran van der Sloot used the same line in 2005 when he was asked why he lied in that he dropped off Natalee Holloway at the Holiday Inn the night she disappeared.
What is most interesting is the continual reference to his laptop. Why does Joran Van der Sloot want the laptop to be thrown out as evidence? If you think about it, the laptop would play into his story of why he attacked Stephany, which would probably mean that the computer was never logged into at that time. The bigger picture is most likely the amount of incriminating evidence there is on it with the things that Joran Van der Sloot has said and done. In the end, Joran brought the laptop into play with his confessions … good lock Sporter in getting that thrown out.
What we see in the end is the desperate acts of a sociopath who is grasping at straws. For once in his life Joran has had his hand slapped and he has no power to react.

The van der Sloot family is full of excuses and pros at playing victim when they are the ones who have victimized.
Joran is not stupid and he has been tutored very well by his also sociopathic father. The way you end a sociopaths’ lies and machinations is to gradually destroy all possibility of the claims they make.
This time he has no one to take his side in the legal areana and do the cover-up work that was done in Aruba. NO LE help, no corrupt judicial help so now he is flailing about trying anything that will help him to overcome his bad position.
A careful forensic examination of his computer may reveal all of the players and the part they played in the cover-up in Aruba regarding Natalee Holloway. This will in all likelyhood reveal that the reason he gave for murdering Stephany Flores is totally false, which leaves only one or two things, forced sex (rape) and robbery as the motive.
Sociopaths do not live in the same reality as normal people. They live in a reality that they create in their minds regarding all facts and when they are challenged, they become very angry and vindictive.
Joran isn’t making any friends in Peru…good!! this means he will get the max sentence! Running off at the mouth is just what he needs to be doing, it has been so beneficial to him in the past.

Joran still is nothing more than a suspect and even in Peru suspects have -constitutional- rights.
His lawyers and the Dutch embassy will see to it that his rights are respected and that he receives a fair trial like it should be in a civil society.
IMO Wrong – He is a suspect who has confessed to murder in the presence of a representative of the Dutch Embassy and proper Peruvian legal counsel with overwhelming evidence to support the confession or parts there of.
He can recant his confession, he can say it is cohorsed, he can say he lied, he can say he didn’t understand. He can say they didn’t follow procedure. He can even say the Queen herself wants to bare his child. He can’t prove any of that and it doesn’t matter anyway because – He SIGNED THE CONFESSION! (Peru isn’t Aruba – they are not going to tare up the confession and have a do over)
What I see as his biggest problem is – He Ran!
Him running to Chile involves a few things:
1) There’s no need to run if you are not guilty.
2) He left the hotel telling them “Don’t disturb my girl she’s sleeping”
3) The video evidence shows no one else entering or leaving the room.
4) The video evidence shows the possibility of him attempting to cover the crime by leaving for coffee with the cups in his hand and having the hotel staff open the door for him when the video clearly shows him as closing the door and knocking just minutes before.
These actions implicate a sound mind as far as meaning he knew what he was doing. So I am no longer worried about the possibility of an insanity plea.
Then there is the Forensic Evidence some of which we have already seen. I am sure after all of it comes out, it will be overwhelmingly sufficient to prove he did it.
Besides in Peru you don’t have to be convicted beyond a shadow of a doubt or by a jury trial of your peers. He will sit before three panel judges and be tried on the preponderance of evidence. How much Pondering do you think the judges will have to do to convict him?
And it just keeps getting better… Now with him not cooperating they are going to lengthen his sentence.
What I wish for is one little crack, just one more mistake that will bring us some evidence of the Natalee Holloway case.

I agree the laptop was probably never logged into and just one of his lies so naturally he would want that thrown out and wouldn’t it be the icing on the cake if they actually found something incriminating from the Holloway case on it!
They reported they found amphetamines in Stephany’s body so I’m wondering if they can establish a timeline between them entering the hotel, the amphetamine level in her body and him taking his notorious coffee break!
IMO it is not a sex crime but robbery-murder. I’m saying this because of the interview with the ex-girlfriend where she says he had contacted her for money to get out of Peru. I think that was the only thing on his mind. Getting money and Getting out of Peru.
Wonder how many girls on vacation in Aruba were enticed by him into a situation where he didn’t kill but just took money and or credit cards?
I suspect they weren’t in that room for more than 15 minutes before he killed her. He probably slipped something into her drink at the casino so that she would be helpless to an attack by the time he got her to his room. (This is in line with his usual suspected MO)
While watching the video of Joran and Stephany entering the hotel, Stephany’s father said,”that is not my daughter – that is not how my daughter walks.” Meaning her movements and posture where not recognizable to him as she was probably already drugged.
As for the Bloody Shirt and the Pants = He could have easily removed her pants when he put his bloody shirt on her. In his confession he was thinking of how to put her body in the luggage. Maybe that is why he put the bloody shirt on her so he could do away with both her and the evidence at the same time. He may have removed the pants to go thru her pockets or to see if she was stashing money under her pants.
If I were his parents, I would have just stood over him when he was a child – every time he lied, I would have smacked him a good one with a fly swatter.
I would have been his worst nightmare.
He would be diving under coffee tables still at the age of 50 at the sound of a fly swatter smack.
So far he is lucky that it is (by his claim) only his rights that have been violated. They are saving the best for last.

1. Wouldn’t he have had it set to his native dutch language?
2. If so, how would Stephany have understood incoming email?
3. If not, what is the likelihood Joran would have disclosed anything about his involvement with Natalee to Stephany?
4. An email needs to be opened. If they were playing on-line poker did he then stop that and check his email?
5. If not an email was it IM popping up in the corner? Again, in what language?
6. Taxi driver(s) said Joran was on his computer. Deleting the “e” trail? Corresponding? If so, to whom?
7. Deleted text can be retrieved, yes?
8. Laptop usage records could disprove his claims of “in the heat of the moment” theory if no such correspondence is found.
9. If no email/IM then what would have triggered violence?
10. Why was Stephany found not wearing her jeans? Not behavior for playing poker.
11. Resisting sexual “advances” could have enraged Joran.
12. Psych evaluation deems Joran to have value-less attitude of women.
13. Evaluation also indicates Joran prone to rage to the point of hurting another when resisted or confronted.
14. Joran was in need of money. His friends have disclosed he asked them for money to get out of Peru.
15. Stephany had won some money that night, co gambling with Joran, at the casino and a larger sum on a previous recent occasion.
16. Stephany could have challenged and resisted possible financial assertions by Joran.
17. Twarted sexually and being financially challenged could be more realistic reasons for level of violence.

I don’t think these developments are more of Jorans manipulation – it is instead the actions of his attorney – he is paid by Jorans Mother and why not put in the time to earn the fee? The basic theory of why coerced confessions are thrown out is to protect societal constitutional rights, even if the accused is actually guilty. The problem with this is that lawyers have so misused the system that constitutional rights mean nothing to those who deserve its protection. The first lawyer resigned and this one will try to manipulate the system to get this psychopath off.

Lisa, I too feel he killed her nearly immediately. I am NOT ANY EXPERT, but an arm chair detective who had the blessed opporutnity to be a dispatcher for a while and take some criminal investigation courses at the local college just because I wanted to learn.
Based on the horrific injuries she experienced, and the bruises on her ankles and torso, she must have truly wanted to leave the room as the boy declared. I do NOT believe he elbowed her. I believe he hit her with his fist so force-fully after having trouble controlling her physically (she did play soccer and was athletic) that he just bashed her face while he had her on the floor and the impact of the punch knocked her eye from socket and fractured her skull. The floor was tile, so it could have been like that.
He then broke her neck while strangling her.
Wow, what a sentence the Dutch-boy gave Stephany for SEEING an email. How then do we apply a sentence appropriate for what he did to her? Has to be worse than what Stephany endured if we want to be fair…right?

What a mess she is! This is exactly WHY Joran disrespects women. Anita didn’t want Joran gambling, Paulus takes him to the casino. Anita didn’t want Joran sneaking out at night, Paulus gives him his own apartment.
When ever you have two parents that don’t agree on the boundries of the child, the child will always favor and follow the lead of the parent that apeases and disrespect the parent that doesn’t.
Paulus turned Anita into the “Bad guy” in Jorans eyes someone not to respect, then Paulus leaves for work and judges training leaving Anita to handle it!
This by no means aliviates Anita of her responsibility as a mother which she failed at miserably. It just explains the basis of part of the problem.
It was her responsibility as a mother to seek professional help for Joran and family counseling for the difference between her and Paulus’s parenting skills! Not just one visit but continued visits until the problem is resolved.
Anita it was within your power to save two (if not more) lives and for this you will pay. Two lives will be taken from you one already and the next soon. How’s that for KARMA!

I thought I was going to throw up listening to her. I think they should throw her ugly ass in there with him. Her enabling is a big reason for all of this. I do not believe Stephany had sexual intentions. It is possible Joran may have wanted to include sex in his evening. He does consider himself to be a “lady’s man”. The “lure” he could have used was to settle the gambling arrangement made during their time at the poker table and to continue online poker in his room. There has been a report that the “date rape” drug was found in her car. DR drug or not, I believe Joran’s intent was to have sex that night, not just to play online poker in his room. Feeling superior to women it is possible her sexual denial enraged Joran. That same rage could have manifested with Stephany refusing to give Joran the money he felt he needed or felt he was entitled to have.
Since Aruba will not be interviewing Joran until Aug. or Sept. (I think they reported)
Now is the time to educate and retrain the Arubans on how to interview the suspect so they don’t f— it up this time.
I certainly hope the Peruvians maintain video surveillance of all interrogations between Joran and the Arubans.
What I don’t understand is why the Arubans would be allowed to interview him as their case is closed Vs. the FBI being allowed to interview him with an open extortion case?
Did I miss something? Is this Peru’s way of allowing the Arubans to “SAVE FACE”?

When my 3 children were very little and they lied I pulled a good one on them. I told them when you lie your thumb turns red. From the ages of 4 to 10 any time one of them lied they would hide their thumb and the innocent ones would show their thumbs.
They laugh now and I always felt a little bad about lying to them but, it worked and they knew at a very early age if they lied they were going to get caught and they were going to have to get up real early in the morning to get one past mom.
I had to be in charge as my husband was in the military and often deployed. Anita truly makes me sick. She plays the helpless victim at every turn like a dog that rolls over and plays dead!

She invested so much love into Natalee and that investment pays off when she thinks of the person Natalee had grown to be but then she was robbed of so badly! There is no comfort for that and now she has to relive this nightmare all over again! It’s sickening!

What is all this talk about Joran’s due process rights? I don’t think the concept of due process applies like that in Peru. I think we are the only society that suppresses evidence as a matter of principle. I think most other countries, instead of suppressing the evidence, prosecute the cops instead. Anyway, this is all too academic for poor old Joran. The boogeyman is lurking.

#34 Ed regarding the other kids: I saw one of them very briefly on a news clip as Anita was being led into a building. I felt sorry for him, he’s a teen and very pudgy, bloated, looked frightened. However, if by some gross miscarriage of justice Van der Sloot is released, I would definitely be in favor of a hit being put out against him. It wouldn’t happen that way because he would not be turned loose. Peru would turn him over directly to any law enforcement agency that has valid extradition papers, the FBI in this case, unless somehow Aruba charged him with murder and then it might be through an agreement between Aruba and the FBI. But in any event Joran would not see freedom.
Despite all that has happened, I think Aruba wants this guy to go away, just like the rest of the world does.
And even then, Aruba has extradition with the US and so does Peru but Aruba and Peru have no agreements for extradition. So the FBI would get him unless the laws were changed.
It is for real an open and SHUT case. Urin Van Der Slut will die in the Peruveian Prison a very young man. After his death he can be with all his buddies, esp. Mr. Ted Bundy.
If the surveillance videos are thrown out, the case starts to fall apart. I hope that doesn’t happen. There is still a lot of other evidence but the videos are the most damning.

Fortunately, the law in Peru is not “beyond a reasonable doubt” but is a “preponderance of the evidence”.
