Why is not one in the media tracking down the Kalpoe brothers? If van der Sloot had any previous influence over prior to Peru, he certainly does not now. Why is the media not camped out on their door step and asking them what really happened to Holloway? It’s crazy how the media is ignoring the other two suspects in her disappearance.
Doesn’t even look like the same person. If this is what a person on cigarettes and steak looks like, hate to see him in prison after a year. I am guessing he wasn’t allowed much sleep and drug withdrawals.

He goes out of the room, shirt changed, carrying coffee cups, food?, knocks on the door of his room like he is locked out..keeps looking around and then goes to get someone at the desk to unlock his door, like he just went for coffee and food and can’t get in. I wonder if his current Attorney has asked for/recieved a request to have Joran placed on Anti-Anxiety medication? He looks like he is on something there or maybe just a bad shot bc he blinked when pic was snapped.

I agree with Chris, can someone at SM contact the press or Natalee`s family! I am pretty sure that one of the Kalpoes brothers will speak now that Joran is in Jail…they seemed more scare to talk because of Joran than because of what they could have done…either way, they could now blame the whole thing on him anyway and just play the nice person card by bringing Natalee home….they could do it undercover or anonimous!

Chris, it is not only the Kalpoe brothers.
It is Guido Weaver – who was the only person charged in the Holloway case – he immediately fled to the Netherlands and lawyered up with the top criminal defense attorney in the Netherlands.
It is Jeffrey Von Croimvert – whose family owned the ‘beach police’ company. He also disappeared.
It is Koen Gottenboes – whose father interfered with the investigation and miraculously, Aruba did not interview as a result. Koen has a very nice, large boat.
There are a lot of people the media could chase. This is a very, very scummy group of people. Answers will be hard when you are dealing with a corrupt criminal element tied to the justice/law enforcement establishment. Answers will be very hard to come by. No one rats out the other for fear of death.
This is my favorite photo of van der sloot. The smug Aruba look is gone. Never to return in this lifetime.
I hope he receives the max and survives all 35+ years. Initially, my wish was a life term and him living to 90 years of age.

Sloot tries to set-up the hotel workers by getting their fingerprints on the doorknob…..thus he could say that he wasn’t the last one in the room…..or, at least say that when he returned from coffee someone had killed her.

He looked so calm & collected with the Chilean police & watching him talk with Peru police he looked like he was just shooting the breeze with no worry that i could see on his face so now in this pic it looks like reality is finally setting in now for Jurine. He’s going down & he k knows it thats why we his desparation saying he will tell ONLY Aruba police what happened to Natalee in some bone headed idea that his feet will ever touch Aruban soil again. Joran is now facing something far more frightening than his worst nightmare of serving time in an Aruban jail.

While Joran only faced a short term in Aruba for Natalee, IIRC 6 years or so, he now faces 35 years in the WORST prison system in the world.

I think it is the drug lords paying for the lawyers and all the rest of the cover-up. What happened with Natalee goes deep into the heart of the corrupt little island; a lot of people involved, and a lot at stake.
The contradictions and comparisons between what took place in Aruba in May 2005 through the last five years, and what took place in Peru in May 2010 and culminated in TEN DAYS – is both gut wrenching and defiantly triumphant for anyone with half a heart to witness.
It was Beth and Dave in 2005 who were paraded through the streets, sent into garbage pits and drug houses, tossed into the Aruban chaos of corruption and manipulations,danger and threats with no law enforcement from the Aruban authorities to help or support them through their heart breaking ordeal. They assailed Natalee. They harassed, shouted at, blamed and protested Beth and Dave,as though they were the criminals.
And then we have Peru: where crowds of Peruvian people, whose hearts of compassion have led them to stand in support of Stephany and her family, show up to shout and protest the PREDATOR, the CONFESSED MURDERER, the MONSTER who stole Stepaney’s life, and who robbed Natalee of her life and her family of their baby and their right to justice in Natalee’s name.
God bless the goodness in the hearts of the people of Peru.

I agree, the Kalpoes probably fear for their own lifes if they ever spoke up and did the right thing. The evil forces in Aruba still exist and are a threat to anyone who dares to provide any information leading to the whereabouts of Natalee.

If Joran is charged with robbery and murder, he is toast. He could be in prison for the rest of his life.
After Van der Sloot was loaded back into the van to be transported to Lima’s Castro Castro Miguel prison, Police General Cesar Guardia told The Daily Beast that most of what the accused murderer had confessed were blatant lies. “His toxicological report shows no signs that he had ingested any kind of drug,” Guardia said, countering Van der Sloot’s perhaps strategic claim that he was high on marijuana when he killed Flores—in Peru, felony crimes committed under the influence of drugs can be treated with leniency in the courts.
Guardia also told The Daily Beast that Van der Sloot lied about the timing of the murder. Earlier in the week, he told investigators that he had gone out to buy coffee for himself and Flores, and killed her when he returned to the room after finding the young woman on his computer. In fact, according to Guardia, hotel surveillance cameras show that Van der Sloot faked his early-morning coffee run. Instead, he left the room with two empty paper cups and then summoned a member of the hotel staff to open his door, lying that he had forgotten his key.
This, according to the Peruvian police, underscores the suspect’s attempts to cover his tracks. “In terms of the sequence of events which led him to commit this savage act, it’s true he has recounted most of what occurred,” Guardia told The Daily Beast. “But he admits there are also some parts which he doesn’t remember.” Guardia added that he thinks Van der Sloot confessed “because the evidence against him was so overwhelming, he was obliged to do so.”
Lamenting the final moments of the young woman’s life, Guardia says he believes that Flores suffered greatly at the young man’s hand. “Can you imagine how she could defend herself against a man who is two meters in height and with his physical build?” he asked. “He gave her a ferocious beating and took the life of a young Peruvian. In doing so he has injured the whole country and he will face justice.”

I am very proud of the Peruvian PD and the Chilean for that matter. This case was solved at Olympic speed and all the police involved worked seamlessly until they had an ironclad case.
The case in Aruba could have been the same. I suspect Paulus V immediately contacted his cronies and began the cover up process with oodles of help. Even if they had 20 eyewitnesses, video and Natalee’s body, JVDS was never going to be punished there.
Ironically, JVDS would have been so much better off serving time in Aruba in their cakewalk prison system. Instead, he now faces the most strenuous conditions and for up to 35 years.
I believe Paulus died from the stress of covering his son’s crime. Every time I saw him in the news he appeared to be straining just to breathe; practically heaving his chest up and down with each breathe. His wife will likely experience an early death as well. She has been involved in this cover up too, though I am uncertain when she may have been brought in on her son’s dirty little secret.
JVDS is going to have a very long time to contemplate his crimes. I wholeheartedly believe their are many more victims to be discovered. I hope the Interpol will study his passport and therefore his movements very carefully over the past five years. Many of his victims may very well have been the “invisible” members of society who are not quickly missed or cared for in criminal investigations. Time will tell, but I really believe this is the tip of the iceberg.

He interviewed victims and perps, and other experts. The thing that stuck in my head all these years, is to think ahead to potentially dangerous situations, and decide how to act. He said they went back to his room to do some online gambling (that answers a burning question) and that she saw email to him about the Natalee murder, she reacted with fear and punched him on the side of the head……
This makes a lot more sense.
Barbreee Joran is playing for the camera. This isn’t his first go with video survailance.
He was going to try to make us believe that someone came into the room and killed Stephany while he was out getting coffee.
He knocks on the door as part of his ploy to make it look like he left his key. Thus the desk clerk will have to open the door and discover Stephany.
However, the desk clerk simply unlocked the door and did not enter the room so it didn’t work!
Now, he has to figure another way out of it!

Aruba and the other ABC islands are under the influence of the drug lords. This is why the justic system is so corrupt. I believe that Paulus was being paid a large sum of money to keep the drug lords protected. When he needed help to keep Joran out of trouble, they were more than happy to help because a good investigation might have revealed the entire scheme of corruption.
The list of complicit people in the cover up of Natalee’s dissapearance is long and would include most of the criminal justice system in the ABC islands and it reaches into the Netherlands as well.
These islands need to be punished by all tourists by never going to visit them either by air or ship.
Maybe Peru can persuade Joran to “out” some more of his protectors in Aruba in exchange for protecting his sorry life.
