Fugitive in Hooiberg shooting arrested (Amigoe: 5/7/2008)

ORANJESTAD – The police has arrested the third suspect in the shooting at Hooiberg on April 26.  His mane is O.N. Brito Jiménez (33) and he is from Colombia.  Another suspect ‘El Flaco’, died during the shooting and a police officer was wounded.  The second suspect P.B. Rios Quincho from Peru was arrested in a house at the Driemasterstraat.  Brito Jiménez, better known as Nico, was arrested via a tip that the police received.  This house was already used in the past as hiding place for KIA escapees.  The investigation on the shooting is still going.  Justice couldn’t tell whether these persons are members of a criminal network.

it isn’t against the law to escape from jail on aruba. i believe they just get a few days added to their sentence they’re all ready service.

They have three suspects in a shooting … and they don’t know if a criminal network is involved?

Seems to me, in my blissful ignorance of Aruban thought processes, that when more than one person is implicated in a crime, a criminal network is a matter of fact.

And the article says that the house was used in the past as a refuge for people who have escaped from the Aruban prison (I am assuming that there is only one) … pray tell, how do they know this?

Did the arrested suspect disclose to them this criminal background? If not, how is it that the police knew that this house was used by escapees … and yet nothing was done about it?

And if the police had known for some time that this house was used for this purpose … why is it that only now did they get around to checking?

I guess I just don’t understand their system.

If I remember, El Flaco also was from Colombia.

So this triad included two Colombians and one guy from Peru. What a triumph for Aruba’s new swell in tourism. Bet the people are rejoicing over it.

If they want to trade American tourist for Colombian tourist, all they have to do is keep the coverup going. Aruba, good luck with the crime problem that will go along with the Colombian tourist.

In Aruba…Crime pays. So, there has been yet another shooting and “Police Arrest 3rd Suspect”.

Since this case will most likely not garner any media attention since if the perps are not connected to any corrupt Officials of the Island, chances are someone actually may be charged for the crime???

If it were the reverse (like the Natalee Holloway Case)- then ALL of the perps go free, write books, appear on TV shows and enjoy their freedom traveling the world. In the meantime, some of the corrupt cronies retire early, leave the Island and send their offspring to the best Schools in the States if they are able.

Real murderers and rapists remain at large and seek ways to extort compensation for their involvement in the crimes by suing the Government.

      Isn’t that SPECIAL ????????

The police know all these things exist on their island…escapees houses, crack houses, the drugs they put into your drinks at C & C’s, underage drinking and gambling, illegal driver licenses, people dying in traffic accidents, people being shot to death, people being murdered, people disappearing….no where I wanna be….!nor should any other tourist….!!!!

      I agree.

      Oduber wants to become Spanish…

I’ll bet he, already, owns a riviera there…

      In Barcelona, overlooking the Mediterranean.

Far, Far away from the Chollars,

      the Drug Cartel

and the Ignorant people of Aruba.

      .

Even, HE, can’t believe their stupidity…

They are, truly, naive and caught in the middle

of this boycott, simply because they don’t use

their voices to speak their opinion.

      .

      What’s wrong, Aruba?

Can’t you find ANYTHING to complain about?

Or are you REALLY happy living under a tyrant

that would sell your own children down the road

to become pleasure-seeking addicts because HE

can’t keep the shit off your streets.

      .

Have you ever thought that, perhaps,

      He doesn’t want to.

He’d rather keep you in a

      state of pure indulgence…

So you don’t notice that he is

      taking away your freedom and

assuring a very, very dark future for you.

      .

      Laugh it Up!

      .

      Boycott!

Remember, Patti, that Jug Twitty said he thought Oduber was no more than a figurehead, without any real power. I find that entirely possible … after all, they have to have some straw man to occupy the top office.

The real forces that move Aruba are offstage….

Funny, I always thought that’s how things worked in the US.That the Bush-administration is only a puppetshow headlined by biggest clown himself.
