Obama, You May Want to Duct Tape Your Mouth … Hillary Clinton Leads Gallup Poll

The only successful political strategy for the Obama camp may actually be to Duct_Tapeput duct tape over candidate Obama’s mouth. The more he speaks and people find out just what he is really all about and his character, the more they dislike what they see and hear.

The Good Ship Obama might be fast turning into the S.S. Titanic. For the first time since March 18–20, 2008 Barack Obama finds himself trailing Hillary Clinton in the Gallup Daily Tracking Poll, 46–45%.

These results are based on interviewing conducted April 16-18, including two days of interviewing after the contentious Wednesday night debate in Philadelphia and the media focus that followed. Support for Hillary Clinton has been significantly higher in both of these post-debate nights of interviewing than in recent weeks.

Why is this important? Obama hardly wants to be heading into the home swing of a bitterly fought Democratic Primary on a downward note as Hillary rises while SUPER DELEGATES look on and try to determine who is and who is not electable. As Wizbang points out, in just two days since the disastrous Pennsylvania debate, “Barack Obama has dropped a stunning 5 percentage points in this national poll and Clinton’s moved up 5%, suggesting that Obama defectors are not moving into the undecided camp, but crossing straight across to Clinton.”

In PA according to Zogby, Hillary Clinton has a 47%–42% advantage over Obama.

What has been the cause of the swing away from Obama from the initial love fest when no one knew who candidate Obama really was? Who has the character gap? Let’s count the ways:

For a person like Obama who the media has anointed the great speaker and communicator, only because he has no policy, track record or substance to stand on … it is amazing that every time he opens his mouth, he has to apologize and spin what he really meant to say.

Hillary is no walk in the park, however, Obama is en empty suit.

Here’s the bad news….in the opinion of many (as far as the final Dem nominee goes…) It’s over!

Not because Obama had a strikingly weak debate performance, which he surely did: He again refused to strongly denounce Rev Wright. He stammered, wavered, and flopped on the crucial issue of support for Israel.

But these are merely killers in the General Election. As for the Dumocrat Primary, that ended Wednesday night at 8:15 p.m…. At that moment Hillary Clinton yielded to the frankly inevitable: with one answer she signaled surrender to Barack Hussein Obama.

Clinton was asked the single question affording her the opportunity to make her essential – and only – case, i.e. the same one she has been making behind the scenes to super- delegates: “Obama is unelectable, cannot win.”

Clinton was asked, directly: “Can Barack Obama win in November?”

Instead of arguing her case at this crucial moment, Clinton instead replied “Yes.”

At that instant, the Clinton argument, the Clinton rationale, hence the Clinton candidacy ended. (BRAVO!)

It was inevitable, but who expected it to happen so soon or at Clinton’s own – seemingly suddenly pacifist – hands? If Clinton cannot, or will not argue the case that Obama is unelectable, she has no argument-period!

It appears as if Clinton conceeded to her own defeat? Did some big Democrat get to her? (i.e. “Do whatever you want tonight – but if you want any future in this party, Do NOT tear Obama apart.”) Who knows…

But the “Obama is unelectable.” horse Clinton has been privately riding for weeks wasn’t in the stable. And, as a result, this horse is officially no longer in the running.

Which brings us to dreading the acceptance that Obama may most likely get the nod. Hopefully, we’ll cling to the hope that the majority of Americans can see through his smoke screen and all of his characters flaws and racist comments against white America and his Anti-American ties will continue to haunt him and fire back at him square in his face come the general election. It’s just too extreme…so I’m still betting that he fails in the end. Maybe a better word is that I’m PRAYING he does! For the good of this nation, anyway.

When the Clinton pair first ran for Pres, I was in college as an old student. I remember debates in history and gov classes where I made argument of how distructive they would be for our country. In brief, that the class and standards of America would drop significantly. For the second line, that as a veteran I was appalled that some ‘sorts’ of vets actually supported the treasonist Clinton.

Upon his election I saw it as the single largest slap in the face of veterans my era. Got to try to be gratfull where one can, glad Clinton came along after I had forgiven the louses who opposed us, enbolden our hard fighting enemy, stole our unity, created a (Kerry) false bad conscience which affected k’s to this day.

For me , I am proud. I served a great country with its and mine noble ideas. I/we went to give life and what they might find with it to ones who had none. Proud of a friend, a great guitar player in training, who had 3 fingers shot off one hand and came back to fight with us. Glad I knew a guy of the common name Smith of uncommon dedication, shot four or 5 times…keep in mind one is a ticket home, yet he kept coming back to serve. Yours trully hit several minor times, once a 7 day comma also, 8th day against all orders hitched and hopped his way back to the unit in country — to complete the agreed service. It was common we refused all awards. Why not, afterall we were not that many years removed from the Great Generation of WWII.

We (America) did a lot of good. One to one and at large. Communist surge in the east may have slowed.

One night we were on ambush, we had a man hit. Pain, blood and the screams. As it turned out in studies later, that same day Clinton was in Russia protesting u.s.

Clinton was allowed to steal the honor of so many service members by the unthinking masses electing him as president. He has never earned the respect to sit with us an instant, he would be rejected. Yet he was pres twice, going for 3.

The possibilty of Obama is terrifying. Will do the most damage to the country in history. Anything: human, dog, or group which hates themselves is sick. Simple to see that hating others due to hating self is only sicker.

Where did it go, that patching of bonds which old treasonists and VN protestors wanted to do with the brave America produces? Mighty short lived relatonship it was, and patronizing is as close a word they know to patriot.

101st Airborne long ago, pointman and too many patrols to remember.

ANy young soldiers read this board who need help adjusting, feel things closing in on them, think you are moving to alcohol or drugs, feel others do not understand you. We can talk, it will help, does not hurt, professionals (not me) will treat you like a great human not a pin cushion. No one will see in your mind what you do not first want them to see.

Tuyvnsurvivor(#5)… It’s people like you who have kept the country going. It’s people like Clinton (and Britney Spears) who get media adulation and have their mugs on TV.

Just more evidence of how screwed up we are.

Thanks for your dedication and service … and I’m sure I speak for everyone on this forum.

Wow. What an incredible post. To keep this short, let have the honor perhaps in speaking for many who are at a loss for words and say you absolutely SHOULD BE PROUD.

So much of your experiences and what you write about defines the spirit, dedication and strength of what genuinely describes the portrait of “true Americans”.

Society may never be able to repay you in kind for your gift of courage you offered to our Nation. It is a gift, I for one, never have taken for granted. So many people forget that the real price of freedom??…Well, it’s not really free.

I hope also that any young soldiers who may read this board heed to your advice in the last paragraph and also realize that millions of Americans (even though countless times and in many ways our own Government has failed them)…Millions of Americans shall remain forever grateful and proud to stand up for all Veteran’s on any given day.

And Michelle says she is not proud of America…shame, shame and more shame…

And our soldiers carried our flag as they went into battle and Obama will not acknowledge or salute our American Flag….that really ticks me off!!!!

      Veterans are always welcome here….

In today’s news…. Sen. John McCain ATTACKS OBAMA for his ties to Ayers…..

“He became friends with him and spent time with him while the guy was unrepentant over his activities as a member of a terrorist organization, the Weathermen,’’ Mr. McCain said, adding, “Does he condemn them? Would he condemn someone who says that they’re unrepentant and wished that they had bombed more?’’

Mr. Obama, who was criticized by Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton in last week’s Democratic debate for his association with Mr. Ayers, has said that he had a loose association with Mr. Ayers and that he was 8 years old when the Weathermen were engaged in bombings. Mr. Obama’s campaign swiftly counter-attacked.

In the same ABC interview, Mr. McCain brushed off questions about his temper, the subject of a lengthy article, with numerous accounts of Mr. McCain’s angry outbursts coming from some of Mr. McCain’s Senate colleagues, in Sunday’s Washington Post.

Asked how he could insure voters that his temper was under control, Mr. McCain responded, “Look at my record. Look at my conduct on the campaign. Look at — I mean, look, I am very happy to be a passionate man. I love this country. I love what we stand for and believe in, and many times I deal passionately when I find things that are not in the best interests of the American people. And so, look, 20, 25 years ago, 15 years ago, that’s fine, and those stories here are either totally untrue or grossly exaggerated.’’

….Just like we thought ! McCain has a SET and tells it like it is! Again, while he may not be everyone’s favorite—he won’t back down and there is absolutely NO COMPARISON when it comes to who has more character, loyalty and exemplifies the MEANING of BEING A TRUE AMERICAN!!

—NO VOTES FOR BARRACK HUSSIEN OBAMA AND HIS TWISTED WIFE !!!!!!

Vote for a P.O.W. and War Hero who has many years of experience in Congress and whose wife is a lady, and not an over-confident big-mouth who detests White people !!!

    12. yoyo muffintop on April 21st, 2008 12:05 pm

      “whose wife is a lady”
#11 – If your definition of a “lady” is a drug addict, then yes, Mrs. McCain is a “lady”.

General question – Do you want to have as a President someone that allowed his children to be raised by a drug addict? Simple yes or no will suffice.

Thanks to those with nice things to say to me. The nicest things said to me and best welcome homes since I got back. I get more vocal about my service as time goes on, and I am faulty at seeming to take an attitude air I and ones I knew were the only ones ever in a war. Shame on me and I try to correct that attitude.

Several I was with wrote books of our times. I had written a cheap business book so I could have easily enough gotten the one I also wrote of the war published. Still have it, and it seems I will never allow it to be published. It is too hard, too honest; some fellow soldiers wanted me to remove some things, I did; a few things were hotly argued as to fact, opinion, and care of family members. I picked up the feeling of whats the use, the book had become what others wanted and what I was now supposed to hold suspect. 13 or 14 people read it. I was glad to hear them say I hit my mark enough they said they laughed, cried, were held in suspense. MOst said they read the 243 page book in one setting. I had only 21 total non combat days in both my tour and my extentions, 9 of those days covered a romance with a half Chinese and half Vietnamese girl. Not at all a prostitute for those with imaginations. No this girls family was like royalty, she traveled with body guards and all. The readers seemed to loooove the romance story.

Part of my uniqueness to the book was I remember what I was thinking, what made me tick, what I thought about to make me get up for various episodes. I remembered some very revealing things that I thought about at odd times. I am dislexic, which can be one and the same as creative (that I am), and we think in pictures. I remember many days of pictures.

Those who read my book treated me distant after they read the book. For a while, then all was fine. One English professor said it has the style similiar to Red Badge of Courage, quickly I went and read the book…yep, I notice the likeness of style.

Things added up against the book. I did not want to argue points in it, did not want to defend it or speek about it to family members of those elluded to. Other guys wanted my book, off the point prospective, to put in their book. Nope. Some of my old warrior mates have been on the History channel as experts, they wrote a book or more than one. I do not want that either, that is to be an expert. I have on rare occassion found my memory proveably faulty, and it would be tough to hurt someone else with a mistake — at this late date.

SOme may remember my Mom’s family ancestry. If not it is not important. Though we are by all means ones to love and serve this country we helped make. We served in the CIvil War and on, everytime; serve on school boards, volunteer fire depts, and go to community meetings; we do not blame AMerica because our own kind tossed our great grands off a cart and out of a shack like trash. Grand was a Texas Ranger after the War, he rode us into being somebody…he is my true star human being. We are ordinary patriots, we like it like that.

Sadly, McCain is the only choice I see.

Thanks everyone for the nice words.
