Chief Aruban Public Prosecutor (OM) Hans Mos has stated that he will appeal the 
decision of the judge that allowed the release of suspects Deepak and Satish Kalpoe in the case of missing teen Natalee Holloway. The judge reviewing the case stated tat there was “serious ‘objections’ against them”, but not enough to keep them in custody. It does really make one wonder just what it does take to actually hold some one in Aruba.
The examining magistrate says that it’s true that the current dossier of the two suspects contains serious ‘objections’ against them, but not enough to keep them longer in custody. Custody based on the current evidence is not allowed. This evidence was the wiping out of traces of a crime scene and the spiriting away of a body, said a spokesperson of the OM.

Chief public prosecutor Hans Mos indicated that the OM will appeal the decision of the examining magistrate to release the brothers Kalpoe from custody.
ORANJESTAD – The two fellow suspects of Joran van der Sloot (20), the brothers Deepak (24) and Satish (21) are again released from custody today. The Public Prosecutor (OM) has requested an extension of the custody today, but the examining magistrate ruled against it. The OM has meanwhile announced that she will appeal this decision.
The examining magistrate says that it’s true that the current dossier of the two suspects contains serious ‘objections’ against them, but not enough to keep them longer in custody. Custody based on the current evidence is not allowed. This evidence was the wiping out of traces of a crime scene and the spiriting away of a body, said a spokesperson of the OM. The two brothers remain suspects of voluntary manslaughter or in any case, serious bodily harm that resulted in the death of Natalee Holloway.
Van der Sloot’s mother is according to reports, very happy that the two brothers are outside again, but she doesn’t know what it would mean for her son. Ten persons were arrested since the disappearance of Holloway, but nobody is officially charged yet.
Chief public prosecutor, Hans Mos finds it striking that the custody of the Kalpoe’s is not extended, while it is based on ‘almost’ the same dossier as that of Van der Sloot. “Were his objections serious enough to extend his custody? It looks like he has a different role in the case.”
Joran van der Sloot’s custody was extended with eight days early this week. An extension with 60 days will be considered late next week. The objection that his lawyer Ariean de Bie has lodged against the restrictions imposed on Van der Sloot, is meanwhile dismissed by the Common Court of the Neth.Antilles and Aruba. The restrictions were eased a little though since his arrest. He received a bible and reading matters. The request to receive visitors, like his mother, brother, a ‘different lawyer’ and friends, was dismissed. He cannot have contact with other prisoners, he cannot watch TV, he cannot make telephone calls and write letters, and cannot read current reading material, like newspapers and magazines. He is now allowed to sport under supervision.

In the meantime, the mother of Natalee Holloway, Beth Reynolds (Twitty) has arrived in Aruba. She and her former husband, Dave Holloway have a meeting with the OM today. Dave Holloway is also waiting for the arrival of a special investigation-boat to scan the seabed around Aruba again for possible traces of his daughter. The boat is expected to arrive at the end of next week and allows him to search to a three-kilometer depth. The former search action only reached a depth of 100 meters.

On the Gretawire. It says disappointing news coming out of Aruba. Anyone know what it might be?
For goodness sakes..this is like everyone there is on crack…PUT DOWN THAT PIPE….freakin unreal..does anyone know what the blank is going on?..either they helped disose of, and ruined evidence or they didnt…and if they did, than URINE should be tried and hung…whats the delay?this is sickening.
Well there goes the diminshing Winter Tourist vacation bookings for 2007-08. The Aruba Farce Team has shot themselves in the foot once again. Every news medium in the free world has been following this abortion of an investigation for weeks. The latest insult to Justice has been reported everywhere and people are unnanimously disgusted at the procedings (or lack there of).
Who in their right mind would consider going to a winter vacation destination where tourists are at the mercy of low class scum? Druging, gang raping, murder!!! Just wait until the figures are tallied for “occupancies” this year.
The word BOYCOTT will have now taken on a new meaning. ARUBA has risen to the pinnacle….the top laughing stock country of the world.
GUTS! We need people with GUTS! In spite of the stupid decision by the judge to release the Kalpoops, I am glad that the prosecutor is objecting to the release.
Also glad that Vander Slut is being kept under wraps. LOL, he doesn’t even know that the Kalpoops have been released. What a joke on him. He may cough it up yet, if he even remembers that the truth is. He has told so many lies that it’s hard to keep track of reality.

Who knows what Joran has been told? Beth says in her book that the van der Scums were bragging that Joran was going to be released from jail … and they were doing this some DAYS before the decision was announced, or rather the initial decision was reversed once the crony judge got out of Aruba.
The place is so corrupt, it seems, that we simply cannot believe ANYTHING that we are told.
At least, not where this case is involved.
Anyone know if the Kalpoes trotted over to the van der Sloot compound? I wonder if they’re laying low … or maybe they went straight to Carlos ‘n’ Charlies.
This is IMHO actually some good news. Of course we’d rather have the Kalpoes in prison but hearing that they have evidence of them cleaning a crime scene and hiding a body is at least something. It’s apparently also why the prosecutor says they know Natalee is dead.
This should be enough to really smarten up those Kalpoe brothers. We have a crime scene. We have a body being moved. Now think about it boys. IF Joran didn’t kill Natalee – YOU may just end up with that one your heads too. Better cough up Joran while you can because Papa Sloot and Joe Tacopina and probably working overtime to hang you with everything.
So here’s the deal Satish and Deepak: 3 years for cleaning up a crime scene and disposing (or helping to dispose) of a body or 15+ years for killing Natalee.
So this all revolves around finding Natalee’s body.

It says in the National Enquirer that an undercover cop became a buddy to Joran in Holland for 3 months and went to school with him. Joran in a drunken state let it slip. It also said there are phone taps. Would like to hear more about that but then again we know these magazines will publish just about anything to attract readers.
Oh my, what a dilemma! Hopefully the meeting with Beth and Dave will give the prosecutor and the interrogators the information they need to move forward. I’m sure Natalee,s family had plenty to say, it was an opportunity for them that they never had before.
Watched you tube, interview provided by our dear friend Carpe…what didn’t Kimberly ask Anita to explain Joran’s statement, I know and I will tell you someday, but not now. Also, previously Anita did the description of Nat’s underwear because Beth said Nat was a virgin. That was a direct attack on Beth because Anita cannot say that about her son. But it also tells us that Joran had sex with Natalee, a helpless victim in and out of an unconscious state, that would be called RAPE.

Art Wood says he turned over information in the past and the ALE did nothing about it. Also he mentions Koen Gottenbos has something to do with the case. Koen and Freddy both were at Joran’s apartment that night.
If Hans can’t get any results from the Aruban authorities then call in our FBI. They were more than willing to help but Aruba wouldn’t let us.
And still…why were the boys at the police station that morning. Was it because the chaperon reported Natalee missing and last seen with those 3 thugs. So there you had them, anyone start looking for evidence, checking for DNA, doing any type of investigating…..NOPE! That should of been done then and there…what is it…too dumb to figure it out or to sly to cover it up. Both!

On an earlier thread, I posted some info about a Web ‘candle-lighting’ event to be held by The Compassionate Friends. Type in that name, and you will see their Web site.
I just took a look, and apparently any remarks, etc., can be made only on Dec. 9. So if anyone is interested in making a tribute to Natalee, and/or other persons, I guess it has to be done on that day.
Susan … whatever the merits of your plan, it would be infinitely wonderful if the sorry bunch of clowns that are running for the presidency, OR the incumbent in the White House, OR the people who live well in the Senate, House, and gubernatorial seats …
OR, in fact, ANYONE AT ALL IN OUR GOVERNMENT …

This is at the heart of this whole case: an American family is battling with a corrupt foreign government to find out what happened to their daughter, and who is responsible.

And American tourism provides 80% of the economy of said foreign government, making it VERY VULNERABLE to pressure from Uncle Sam.
But no pressure is being used. Two years ago, three of our fifty governors vowed to call for a tourism boycott of Aruba at the National Governor’s Conference. We heard nothing about their “efforts” after the conference.
One of those three governors, Mike Huckabee, is seeking the presidency. I have written to him time and again asking that he speak up.
No reply. No comments. No action.

Click on that Amigoe article at the head of this thread: it says, in an article farther down the page, that nearly one of four houses in Aruba are breeding places for the mosquito responsible for the dengue plague.
Gee, think our tourist offices will spread that word? Think they might advise people not to go there, due to natural and human dangers?
I doubt it … but that’s all that Aruba needs to promote its “image” … come here, and if the people don’t get you, the mosquitoes will.
Another article in that “Amigoe” says that the van der Sloots’ lawyer’s appeal against the conditions of Joran’s detention has been dismissed, though they have been eased a bit: he now is allowed a Bible. Happy reading, scumbag.
And also, this says that the U.S. government is warning Americans who live in Curacao, or who are going there, about ‘possible unrest’ from demonstrations against something.
Too bad that our own government won’t warn tourists when Americans go missing….

That is a literal translation. It is supposed to read – he is allowed to exercise (play sports) under supervision.
Does it mean he can play the sport but dads gotta be there?
What does anyone expect from Aruba? A Dutch judge comes from Curacao – a crony of Joran’s father and what other outcome could be expected.
Aruba does not value human life! Perfect example – Nelson Oduber said some time ago that he could not believe all the concern over one girl. That sums it up. Women especially are a commodity in Aruba – there is always another one.
Aruba dresses itself up real pretty but at the core it is truly a third world country but without any morals.
Custody based on current evidence is not allowed. The prosecutor has just that… but the judge calls it serious objections…only related to past documents. What kind of sense does any of that make?
The new evidence is removing traces of a crime scene and the spiriting away of a body. But that is only for a period of 3 years. And currently it cannot be used to hold the Kalpoes. Well, they didn’t cover-up and dispose of a body, if they didn’t commit the crime. Granted they had help but those 3 did the crime.

Well boys and girls, while on the surface it appears that ‘nothing’ is happening and the old ‘Aruba shuffle’ was once again played during those decision making weeks (Do I book a winter vacation in Aruba? Well maybe, it looks like tourists are about to finally get justice”. Not.)
I think all this new evidence baloney was an economic ploy to fool the unsuspecting into effecting a rise in sorely needed tourism. Once the reservation bookings are made (at the highest rates), the 12/31 ‘no case’ deadline will go into effect. Aruba gets a bounce, no justice for Natalee is rendered, and young unsuspecting female tourists once again become fair game for the local rapist sand pigs. There is only one way to counter this……….BOYCOTT.

It appears to me from what’s been released long ago that DaddySloot told them “no body, no case”. Also that DaddySloot would not let the police search his home or the police didn’t even try to search the judge’s home. Also that one of the Kalpoe’s bleached his car and washed it late at night. One more point=the Sloot’s recarpeted their home, replaced all the furniture. If these things are true they clearly prove these little boys & 1adult are guilty of the murder of Natalee. I feel terrible for the parents of Natalee who keep getting the roller coaster ride about the entire situation. Joe Tacapena, attorney for little boy Sloot, acts like he has not one damn ounce of compassion for Natalee. What if it was his daughter? I pray , with all my heart, that the EquaSearch & all other search resources find something incriminating to get these boys.
Bottom line………had the Kalpoe’s & the Sloot’s not been in Aruba that night…..Natalee would be here today enjoying her college pursuits.

As for Beth being questioned, that was known ahead of time I thought. Didn’t someone mention that on Dana’s show ahead of time? I don’t think it’s a bad thing. One thing for sure, she won’t change her stories 180 degrees every other day and take the fifth and refuse to talk. Maybe they wanted to ask her about the things she wrote about in her book. Such as Deepak saying cops let him and the Sloots out at Joran’s house that night after the trip to Holiday Inn etc..and Paulus took him and Joran into Joran’s bedroom and talked to them. IMO to coach them some more and clap for their performance of framing the 2 guards. Afterwards, Deepak says he drove home and talks about being home all day and then going to work, yet Beth and Jug went to the police station to give their statement that morning and Deepak’s car was parked behind the police station.
Every time someone points out a lie they’ve been caught in on the internet, they come out with a new story to perfect the old one and when they don’t have a good explanation for the new ones they’ve been caught in, they take the fifth or say I’m not talking to them anymore. How he can describe what has happened from that email is beyond me? He started from point A and ended with somewhere around point R and then filled in the blanks. These points I feel are nothing but Dr Hodges fantasies. “Joran told Natalee to strip”. “She refused so he took off her clothes, carefully as not to rip them”. “Then Deepak put a blanket in the back seat and Joran raped Natalee first”. “Then Satish and Natalee died during the rape from Deepak”. Has anyone seen what the back of a Honda Civic looks like. Joran is over six feet tall; hell the back doors don’t even open all the way.
I’m sorry Dr Hodges; I simply cannot buy that scenario. Peyton Place was a better story.
However I will say this much; if that is what/where it happened then there were others on that deserted road waiting for Natalee to show up. It had to be the road where Deepak says he relieved himself and threw away his drink.

By the way the judges in the Netherlands Antilles, including Aruba have to pass a six year judgeship course; after which they are appointed by none other than the Queen. Noone but the Queen can remove them once appointed.

I would want to stay away from Aruba just for the health problems that go unchecked;
such as dengue, meningitis, being crusifried, loosing my head in a cemetery, dying in my sleep with my hands tied behind my back with a gag on my mouth and all the heart attacks in containers locked from the outside. Aruba sure is not a healthy place to visit.

I’ve been giving Hans Mos the benefit of the doubt so far. One thing he said, that kind of made me worry, was when he said he wasn’t doing the questioning, a female who works there in the prosecution was? He also said the old cops were still involved since it was them who was on this and knew the info.
I was hoping JQK would speak out since they are back. Had enough of Tacoitis the past week. He has never met a camera he didn’t like. Every show he jumps in and takes over and don’t let anyone else talk. Throws out anything and everything and hopes something sticks.
I’m thankful Hans Mos is appealing ~ now, imagine what he’s up against?

If anyone has the address of the Netherlands Antilles Common Court of Justice, maybe the name of the Chief Justice, please post it. I’ve looked at the old address lists and I’ve googled and can’t find it. I have some questions for them. Like why friends of the Sloots were allowed to handle this case.
As for Beth’s “interrogation”, let them look at all avenues. Let them rule out Jug and the MB kids. Remember, however, that some of the questions might be something like:
“How long did Dennis Jacobs leave you sitting before taking your statement?”
Or “What part of your statement was changed by ALE when presented to you in Dutch?”
Another good one would be “What did you see on Dennis Jacobs’ desk when you were giving your statement?”
How about “What did Anita tell you and Greta about Natalee and Joran the day you met with her in her home?”
There are so many things they could ask her that have more to do with the investigation and the handling thereof than with Jug’s business or his relationship with Natalee or blue-eyed phantoms.
I think the Dutch investigators and Hans Mos are doing all the can to solve this case. They are NOT the ones who let the perps walk for 10 days, changed search warrants, or failed to follow up on leads or statements made by the “scared young boys” who raped and killed Natalee Holloway. They may have more evidence now but want to pressure the boys to give them more information. I doubt they expect a confession, but the more info they get from J2K and others, the better their chances of finding witnesses or evidence. They came in 18 months after the Sloots’ friends tried to cover all their tracks. Unfortunately, there are more involved than J2K, which is why the body wasn’t found. Ben Franklin: 3 can keep a secret if 2 of them are dead. And we’ve got more than 3 covering for these Arubascumbags. I don’t know if this Dutch contingent can get justice in this case, but I don’t think they should be condemned for the actions of the Sloots’s friends.

But I suspect that Anita did see and speak to Natalee during that week before the incident at the rocks.
Thing is: The charges all have to do with the disposal of a corpse. Is Aruba going to admit how Natalee died and charge the three with disposing of her body? There has to be a reason why they are by-passing the details of her death.

What do we seem to know that he does not? For one, evidence has been destroyed, lost, neglected, hidden, and conveniently sanitized, or at least that’s my opinion; and I’m sure that at least some of you would agree.
I’m afraid our Hans is a Boy Scout (me too) . The problem with Boy Scouts is they look at the world like they are at the National Jamboree, or scout camp, where every one obeys and lives by the Scout Law and Scout Oath.

All arrests and interrogations have been conducted for our benefit only. To appease us, the potential tourist. And this last strategy is no different.
Perhaps I’m wrong, but I think this has the similarities (and differences) of all missing person’s cases, such as the Scott Peterson case, for example. That case didn’t build its momentum until Lacy Peterson’s body was discovered.
Peterson was under suspicion for his wife’s disappearance, as these three scum have been for Natalee’s disappearance. However, things didn’t really start to happen until Lacy’s body was discovered.
I don’t think this case will move forward until they discover Natalee’s body.
My impression is that people much more closely tied to the case than us realize that also. And yes, finding Natalee’s body may bring closure to her family, but it will also provide badly needed evidence. At the very, very least, finding Natalee’s body in the ocean will prove once and for all, that she did not ‘run away’. It will prove that she was put there.
Some might say, “Well, maybe she swam out there after our fair-haired boy Joran left her alone on the beach. All depressed and what-not.”
To that, I’m sure we will be able retort:
“And did she lock herself in the crab cage too?”
Joran was recorded as saying:
“I will laugh if they find the girl alive.”
Many feel that Joran meant that he would be happy if they find Natalee (the girl) alive. I don’t read what he said like that at all. What I believe Joran meant was this:

Just viewing the John Q. Kelly interview from last night, I could see that the guy was visibly upset. Incompetent, was the word he used to describe the ENTIRE investigation. I assume that includes Mr. Mos., who Kelly states, brings less passion to the case than Janssen. Not a glowing recommendation. Which would mean that the guy barely has a pulse. Since Jansen barely had a presence.
And as true to form, according to Kelly, Mos blames Natalee’s family for the Kalpoes’ release. I think it’s safe to say that you could probably find a bong in the prosecutor’s office somewhere. And you wouldn’t even have to look that hard.

The shirt etc were found in Lago Colony Wag Fountein. The mattress was found on Grapefield Beach. Both areas are in and around San Nicolas at the other end of the island. I can’t figure how to tie this in. The blood on the mattress being from a dog is possible. The whole area is full of stray dogs. The other evidence is lost in the cover up but I have a pix of Geoff with a similar shirt and glasses. That evidence could have been left from one of the other 20 times this has happened.
BTW I just re-read Jaime’s statement. In it he says the Loco Stef is/was Joran’s girl friend. I did not remember that. That must be why she was photographed in the back seat with Freddy and Joran in the front.

I still think it’s not impossible that Natalee was handed over to a drug lord, or one of his emissaries, who promised to remove her from the island. Judging from what has happened on Aruba so far, it seems that the van der Sloot clan were indifferent to the possibility of such charges from day one. Why would removing Natalee from Aruba put him in more danger of facing charges?

I don’t believe that the suspects knew that Natalee would not show up- they were just delivering the ‘goods’ for the 21st time to Paulus’ drug lord friends. When Natalee failed to show up the next day (unlike the other victims) because somebody deviated from the usual plan, they were the last people seen with Natalee.
Oh, crap! So they go to daddy to help cover their butts, knowing several things:
1. the corrupt Dutch in Aruba will never convict their own (as many Arubans and Netherlands citizens have said),
2. the FBI called the justice system in Aruba, ‘incestuous’ meaning everyone was way too chummy with everyone else, be they judges, defense attorneys, or prosecutors. And daddy Sloot is right in among them, isn’t he?
3. the people who failed to hand Natalee over are too dangerous to squeal on. So if daddy and his friends can keep you out of jail and the real perps are not to be messed with, why worry if people think you murdered the girl?
4. What is more scandalous, a murder or a sale into prostitution? Which screws your tourism up more? Only problem is, the Aruban gov’t didn’t expect that their cover-up would take just as bad of a toll in the long run. They thought Natalee would fade away and be forgotten like Amy Bradley was. By the time they realized things weren’t cooling down, Natalee was beyond their reach to recover. Now they have to lie, lie, lie to the world and their own people and try to wait this out.
5. There’s no reason for the Arubans to keep a body from being found. It would have gotten the media and family and volunteers off the island quickly, thus minimizing the negative publicity. And made it so much easier to protect the guilty and cover up evidence. Look up the tragic case of Rebecca Middleton, and compare that to Natalee’s disappearance. The differences between the two cases, and what those differences imply, are more striking than the many similarities.
6. The new investigative team cannot start from square one; they have to review evidence and then do what they can from there. So does Hans Mos have circumstantial murder evidence, or does he have a jumble of clues that he’s trying to fit into that box? Just because he’s a professional doesn’t mean he’s perfect.
7. Let’s face it: without forensic evidence, all we have is K2 accusing Joran of doing something, and Joran accusing K2 of the same. That doesn’t mean squat in even an honest court of law!
Folks, this case isn’t going to be solved by anyone who has their mind locked down to one possibility just because that’s what usually happens. Hans Mos, Art Wood, even Tim Miller – they may be good people but they have blinders on. This case will be solved by people who are able and willing to color outside the lines.
Appeal Lost!
ORANJESTAD, Aruba – An Aruban judge has refused to overrule the release of two suspects in the 2005 disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway.
The suspects, Surinamese brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, were released from jail on Saturday after a judge ruled the evidence was not strong enough to continue holding them.
They had been held on suspicion of involvement in Holloway’s death. Prosecutors challenged the decision at a closed session Tuesday, but were rebuffed by the court.
The Kalpoe brothers were arrested for a third time in the case on November 21 along with a third suspect, Joran van der Sloot, who remains in jail.
Holloway, of Mountain Brook, Alabama, was last seen leaving a bar with the three suspects on May 30, 2005, hours before she was scheduled to return home to the U-S with her classmates.
All three of the suspects deny any role in the disappearance.
