After a weeks worth of judicial and media circus, Judge Larry Seidlin grants custody of Anna Nicole Smith’s body to Dannielynne Smith’s guardian.
But the judge said he personally wants Smith buried with her late son Daniel in the Bahamas.
“I have suffered for this, I have struggled with this, I have shed tears for your little girl,” Broward County Circuit Court Judge Larry Seidlin said to Smith’s mother about 15 minutes before he ruled. (Fox News)

And so now we wait. “What a mess” Howard said as he looked at his new shoes.
Wow…all this and the judge just passes the buck! Looks like the only decision he made was the decision to try and make a name for himself at ANS’s expense.

I just hope the guardian has his head on straight and does what’s right for the baby and what family she has left. The judge said he wants Anna Nicole buried with her son? I hope the guardian will considered that Anna Nicole and Daniel’s real family live in Texas… not the Bahamas!
It is the Bahamas.
If Ana wanted her son or herself to be buried near her “real” family, she would have made it known. Ana could not stand her mother and wanted nothing to do with her. She planned on spending the rest of her days in the Bahamas. She buried her son there so she could be near him. I think she should be buried near Daniel so they can rest in peace together. I just hope that whoever the baby’s daddy is, he does what is right by that child. I hope he loves his daughter for who and what she is, not because she’s worth millions.
I think all the circus of this being in the news for days has done great for displaying to us all the ineptness of far too many judges. Anyone notice Judge Larry is not up to the challenges of the job.
This court room joke was a microcosm of Anna Nicole’s life.
What a nightmare.
Let’s really look at this matter at hand. There comes a point where if one’s wishes are based upon fraud and deception, can they really be interpreted as a legal basis.
It would appear that they only reason Anna Nicole Smith went to the Bahamas was to find a jurisdiction that was user friendly to single un-wed mothers. She wanted, either by her own volition or by influence of HKS, Larry Birkhead to have no legal rights to the child.
Thus her moving to the Bahamas and the false pretense of owning a home there, which is now a separate law suit, was to defraud Larry Birkhead of his parental rights.
It becomes obvious to any common thinking person by the actions of Anna, HKS and the testimony of the SC gentleman that Larry is the dad. The refusal to provide DNA as well as going to the Bahamas in the first place tells that.
Anna Nicole could never have foreseen Daniel dying. When he did, she did not bury him in CA not because she did not want to, but because she feared being slapped with a lawsuit from Birkhead.
So she opts to bury her son in a place where he had no family? All because she was trying to defraud Larry Birkhead and deprive him of his potential parental rights. So she makes it known that she wanted to be buried next to her son when she was under the influence of drugs and stricken with grief and depression.
The end result is what? IS LKS going to live in the Bahamas? If not Anna Nicole and Daniel will be buried in a location that no family or friends live. Does that really make any sense?
Is that in the best interest of Dannielynn?

I just read that Anna Nicole’s mother is going to appeal and I was wondering a few things. Do her lawyers get paid either way, if she wins or loses the appeal? Are they dragging this out for the money and publicity? If she does win, is she going to dig up her daughter, who by then should be buried already, leaving her grandson to be buried alone in the Bahamas?
Personally, I thing Daniel should be brought back to the states and the both of them should be buried in California. Like the world needed another opinion, huh?
Truth to tell, I haven’t followed the ins and outs of this case very closely … were it not for the dollars involved, and the flamboyant life of this lady, who would care?
But I wonder if there’s any sign, one way or the other, about what she herself wanted and where she wanted to have her body lie.
My own belief is that it really doesn’t matter too much where you are buried, but I respect the ideas of those who say that it does.
Did she have a record of being in the Bahamas, or was it just the place where she sought a legal refuge and where she happened, somehow or other, to die?
Seems most appropriate to me that her body be here in the U.S., just as I would think should be the case with her son. But it’s also a bit odd to think about disinterring a body for that reason.
There is one thing that I am absolutely positive of and that is that Howard K. Stern already has proof that he is not Dannielynn’s biological father. I am positive of that because he has had daily access to Dannielynn since birth and any man in his position who has an intelligence above that of a moron would have long ago used an assumed name and an address not his own to order a testing kit from a private DNA testing laboratory and returned it for testing along with payment in the form of a cashier’s check purchased from a bank other than his own. I think Howard K. Stern probably has the intelligence to do that. So he already knows with certainty that he is not the father and that is why he is strongly resisting giving up a swab sample of Dannielynn’s DNA.
#10 – I’m sure you’re correct that HKS is not Dannielynn’s father. I think we’ll all find out soon enough that LB is her biological father. My question is why. Why didn’t ANS want LB to be in the baby’s life? Not that it will matter in the end, but there has to be a reason that she would try to have a baby with him, and then leave the country knowing she is carrying his child.
#7, Red, very very well summed up. How could a judge of any halfwitt calibur not see the real values involved. I think the judge himself so played by focusing on his media presence entered himself into the saga. So he did not beat his chest, swing from grapevines, or give out the Tarzan vocal ‘hooty-hoot’. But he exposed all the charm, emmotion, and dull ‘what-the-heck’ dialoque a camera can stand…must be looking for his Jane. Any closeness to a decission you just have to know is going to be challenged. No unemmotional text or clear lines by this judge Larry.
On another note: This poor kid, Dannielynn, is bound to be a high risk kidnap candidate for years to come.

It’s obvious to most people that Anna Nicole was only interested in one thing… me, me me!
For those that don’t know, the reason that Anna wanted to raise Dannielynn in the Bahamas and by-pass her daughter’s right to know her real dad, was because he was aware of the drug abuse that she was inflicting upon this child, even in the wound… and he had the balls to stand up to her and insist that she stop!
If anyone has the right to point her wicked finger, calling someone a bad mother; it certainly isn’t Anna Nicole Smith. There is nothing more disgusting than a child born into this world with a drug addiction! We are only beginning to comprehend the long-term disorders that these babies suffer for the rest of their lives… everything from minor learning disabilities to mental disease.
Who was thinking about the baby? I know of, atleast, one! Who was it that told Anna that she was worried about her dying the same way that Daniel died? I know of, atleast, one. Maybe it wasn’t so much that her family didn’t love her, as it was that her family didn’t support her in her self-destruction… so she didn’t love them!

If you asked Anna Nicole and Howard, no body gave a hoot… but then again, they are victims of their own demise.
And considering Dannielynn a bit more. Stern present at the deaths of Daniel and Anna. Why isn’t he picked up and questioned? Better yet, get someone to watching Dannielynn, the half a billionare, whom if she disappears before a blood test to identify the biological father, Howard Stern is Daddy, and no longer the hanger on…he’s the man everywhere he goes.
I think this is a true concern.
If Howard S. was present for both Daniel’s and Anna’s deaths, this should be raising red flags. I feel he was manipulative and made Anna feel he was the only one who cared and loved her. Who do you think told Anna about moving to the Bahamas?…do you really think Anna thought of that on her own? Howard S. didn’t work for years, and relied soley on Anna and her money. I truly hope the truth comes out. Look at the humiliating clown video. Anna was 8-9 month pregnant, high as a kite and Howard was filming and laughing in the background. He knew what he was doing…using this as evidence. How could you do this to someone you love? He kept giving her the drugs, maybe in hopes she would OD accidently (yeah right). Howard needs to be investigated.
Howard K Stern was only with Anna for her money. He hadn’t worked in years, and she totally supported him. He says she was his life, more like meal ticket to me. Well, now that the house in the Bahamas is in question, what is he going to do if he gets thrown out? Stay in the Bahamas? Doubt it! He will probably flee with Danielynn, because without her, he looses that meal ticket. So it will leave Anna and Daniel buried in a place that they have NO ONE! I agree with #7, that the only reason she went to the Bahamas was to keep the baby away from Larry. And I also believe it was all Howards doing, in convincing her to do this. He is suck a scum bag! I don’t know if anyone caught this one: Anna’s mother stole the drinking cup that Howard was using in the court room!!!! Yeah for her, looks like a segment from CSI. Now all they need is a bottle from the baby for her DNA!!!!!!
Yeah for Mama G!!!!! Do you get the impression that her and Larry are psychologically bonding? I kinda got that from their body language… but then again, it might just be wishful thinking. That is one of the many things that would be in the best interest of Daniellynn, to have a father that protects her and a grandmother that loves her, instead of living with Howard Stern in a three ring circus.
I can’t believe the things that he would do to make money off of Anna Nicole and the lies! I’m beginning to see a pattern of alienation. I sensed it when Daniel died, but, now, it’s coming in loud and clear: Howard K. Stern didn’t want anyone to care about Anna. He even alienated her fans with his antics… made a total fool out of her. He wanted everybody to know that she was on drugs so that if and when he slipped her a mickey, everyone would think that it was a self-induced overdose.
Oddly enough, it was Anna’s mother that warned her about Howard. I think that she’s a pretty smart cookie. But, when your children grow up, you have very little control over the choices that they make. All you can do is stand by, and hope for the best.
Hopefully Danielynn’s real father, presumably LB, will get her the best possible medical attention from the moment custody is given to him. I hope he truly does care for his child and not just the money tied to her.
My own feeling is that everyone involved (I don’t mean sexually only, though their ranks would probably stretch all around the block) with Anna Nicole Smith was pretty much out to see what they could grab.
(Uh … in that second reference, “what they could grab,” I DO mean money. Anyway ….)
Having said that, it seems that there could well be something behind the claim of her mother that the attorney, Stern, manipulated the woman into going to the Bahamas and continued to feed her mania for illicit drugs. That’s how it seems to me, based on superficial attention to what I’ve heard.
So, while I don’t think it matters much where we are buried, it does matter whether this affects who gets custody of the child and the money involved.
All of us who follow the Natalee Holloway and Amy Bradley cases have our suspicions about “justice” in the Caribbean.
If the baby goes there … there goes the baby, perhaps.
And then, who gets the money?
