Big Night for Trump … Donald Trump Wins GOP Primaries in Florida, Illinois & North Carolna

TRUMP TUESDAY …

So far it appears to be a rather good night for Donald J. Trump as he was won the Republican primaries in Florida, Illinois and North Carolina. However, Trump did lose to Kasich in Ohio, and Missouri is too close to call. Trump did what he had to do and although he would have had a clean sweep had he won Ohio, it is hard to believe that the sitting, popular governor of Ohio could actually lose his own home state. That being said, Kasich has no path to the presidency via delegates. Trump steamrolled Rubio in Florida beating the Florida senator 46% to 27% and winning all of the 99 delegates. In Illinois Trump won rather easily with 40%, Cruz second with 29%, Kasich 20% and Rubio a miserable 4th with only 8%. In North Carolina Trump garnered 40.5% of the vote, Cruz second with 36.5%, Kasich third with 12.5% and Rubio last with 7.8%. Hmm, are you sensing a trend with Rubio?

Donald Trump won a decisive victory in Florida’s primary Tuesday night, forcing home-state Sen. Marco Rubio to abandon the race for the Republican presidential nomination. But another big prize — Ohio — went to its governor, John Kasich.

Florida’s outcome, with companion wins in North Carolina and Illinois, strengthened Trump’s chances to secure the Republican presidential nomination. The third contender, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, is hoping to pick up enough delegates to force a contested national GOP convention in July.

“Do not give in to the fear,” Rubio said in a not-so-subtle reference to Trump. “Do not give in to the frustration.”

Florida and Ohio award the most delegates; Missouri also held a primary Tuesday.

Kasich had to win Ohio to keep his struggling campaign alive, but even so, he has virtually no path to the nomination.

“I want you to know the campaign goes on,” Kasich said at his victory rally. He sought to maintain his positive persona. “I will not take the low road to the highest office of the land.”

Heading into Tuesday’s balloting, Donald Trump had 460 of the 1,237 delegates needed to win. Texas Senator Ted Cruz had 370, followed by Rubio at 163 and Kasich at 63. Let’s see how the numbers shake out at the evenings end.

Ben Carson Says I’m Promised a Spot in Trump Administration … The Art of the Deal

Should this come as a shock from the man who wrote “The Art of the Deal?”

Well who didn’t see this coming? Dr. Ben Carson revealed on Newsmax TV Monday that he will work in Donald Trump’s administration. Well what did anyone expect after Carson ended his presidential run and the suddenly endorsed Republican front-runner Donald J. Trump? Obviously he was promised something for his endorsement, especially considering some of the vile words that Trump said about the mild mannered Ben Carson. Who could blame Trump for wanting a good man like Carson in his cabinet, I would want him. More importantly, who is surprised, this is what the Trumpster does, he makes deals. If it turns out this is what pushes Trump over the top in Ohio, it just makes the deal simply brilliant.

Dr. Ben Carson revealed on Newsmax TV Monday that he will work in Donald Trump’s administration — at least in an “advisory capacity” — if the Republican presidential front-runner is elected to the White House.

But Carson, a retired pediatric neurosurgeon who recently endorsed Trump after dropping out of the race of the GOP nomination, declined to say exactly in what capacity he will serve or whether it’s a cabinet position.
“I do believe, and certainly in my discussions with Donald Trump, he does love America and he does want to be successful. He will surround himself with very good people,” Carson told “The Steve Malzberg Show.”

Asked whether he will be one of those people, Carson responded:

“I will be doing things as well … Certainly in an advisory capacity [in Trump's administration].”

Carson said Trump’s decision to bring him into the presidential fold came after he sat down with the billionaire developer to talk about the future.

As to whether his expertise in medicine or education will be tapped, Carson was mum.

Honestly, my only fear with Trump is that he will make deals with Pelosi and Schumer. I want him to enforce his will upon them, not make deals. If Trump is elected president that will most likely mean he would also have a Republican Senate and House. If that is the case, you don’t make deals, you look to reverse the disastrous 8 yeas of Obama and that does not include make deals with far left Dems.

So Much for that Ceiling Political Pundits Rail About … Donald Trump Breaks 50% in a National Poll for the First Time

Imagine that, the political pundits are wrong again, what Donald Trump ceiling?

Donald Trump has topped the 50% mark for the first time in the national YouGov Poll. The most recent Economist/YouGov Poll finds Donald Trump leading the GOP presidential race nationally with 53%, followed by Ted Cruz at 22%, John Kasich at 11% and Marco Rubio in total freefall at 10%

In the last two weeks, Republican frontrunner Donald Trump has won more delegates in primaries and caucuses, even while his opponents have launched new attacks and questions have been raised about his supporters.  The week’s Economist/YouGov Poll finds Trump still at the top of GOP voters’ preference with a wider lead, while Florida Senator Marco Rubio seems most damaged by the two weeks of attacks and counter-attacks.

This is the first time Trump has garnered the support of a majority of Republican primary voters nationwide. YouGov’s February 24-27 survey marked his previous high, at 44% support.

Trump, who is the clear GOP frontrunner (74% of Republican primary voters expect him to be the nominee), still has a way to go to win over the supporters of his GOP opponents.  About four in ten Republican voters don’t think Trump cares about people like them, and believe he cares more about himself than the country.  A third are dubious about his plans for the economy, think he is not honest and trustworthy, and say he isn’t ready to be Commander-in-Chief.

Polls Ahead of the Republican Ohio & Florida Primaries … Illinois, North Carolina & Missori Also

Ahead of the all important Republican primaries in Florida and Ohio come the following polls. All of them have Donald Trump either leading, tied or a strong second. Marco Rubio is looking at a potential disastrous Tuesday night where he may get shut out of all of the delegates and even finish third in Florida.

MARIST POLL – FLORIDA

Donald Trump appears way out a head in Florida of Marco Rubio in the latest Marist poll. Rubio’s main concern should not be whether he can win his own home Senate state of Florida, but whether Ted Cruz will beat him out for second place.

CBS POLL – FLORIDA

If Marco Rubio finished third in Florida, how could he ever justify continuing his campaign? The RCP average of polling as Trump way out ahead. It would seem that the Florida primary will be called shortly after all the polls close and the only thing in doubt is whether Rubio will suffer the humiliation of a third place finish in his own state.

NBC-MARIST POLL – OHIO

Kasish hold a 6 point lead over Trump; however, that was before all hell took place on Friday and over the weekend in Chicago and Ohio at Trump rallies where the LEFT tried to shut down Trumps free speech. There is no way to know how that type of bullying will play with the voters.

The polls in Illinois, Missouri and North Carolina all have either Trump in first place or a strong second. In Illinois, Donald Trump leads with 38% as Ted Cruz is a close second with 34%. Trump is also way out ahead in the polls in North Carolina and Missouri. In the Show Me state its a two team race between Trump and Cruz. Which begs the question following Super Tuesday, Part Deux … Rubio and Kasich need to drop out and make this a final table pairing of two of GOP political presidential game of Texas Hold Em.

Former Republican Speaker of the House and all-around gutless wonder John Boehner has endorsed Gov. John Kasich ahead of this Tuesday’s Ohio winner take all primary. Who would want that endorsement, talk about the kiss of death. The crying man, John Boehner, is the face of failed Republican establishment politics. It is the failure of Boehner and his GOP establishment cronies in DC that gave rise the the Donald Trump wave. Why would anyone want his endorsement? At an event on Saturday in Butler County, OH to honor former Speaker John Boehner he stated, “I have no regrets about how I retired or when I retired. Every day I’m grateful I’m not there.” No former speaker, not half as grateful and thankful that we are that you are not there!

Republicans in Butler County honored former Speaker John Boehner three days before residents across Ohio’s 8th District will vote on his replacement in Congress.

But on Saturday, Boehner was more interested in talking about the presidential race.

One day before Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is scheduled to speak in West Chester, Boehner endorsed Ohio Gov. John Kasich for president.

In fact, the former speaker told a crowded ballroom in the same township he already voted for Kasich.

“He’s my friend,” said Boehner.

It was Boehner’s first public appearance in the area since he retired last year.
