DEMOCRAT & MEDIA DOUBLE STANDARD … Oops, Looks like Obama Treasury Secretary Nominee Jack Lew was Sheltering his Money in the Cayman Islands … But It’s Not Romney So That’s OK

Imagine that, only sheltering monies in the Cayman Islands is an issue for Democrats and the MSM when it comes to Republicans and Mitt Romney. Where is that class warfare rhetoric from Obama now?

Don’t look now but President Barack Obama’s Treasury Secretary nominee Jack Lew’s nomination may have hit a bit of a snag. It would appear that he has made investments in the Cayman Island to shelter money. Of course this is not an issue now for the Obama White House, Democrats and the liberal MSM. It was only an issue for former 2012 GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Of course it will make no difference to Obama, he is the one who previously had Turbo tax cheat Timothy Geitner of the Treasury Secretary. What’s a little Cayman Island sheltered money?

Republicans have been critical of Lew since his nomination was announced last month. Sens. Jeff Sessions and Orrin Hatch have questioned his role in Medicare policy decisions and his role at Citigroup.

“He’s got to still answer some questions or we may have to postpone the hearing,” Hatch told POLITICO on Thursday. “Right now, I’ve agreed to the hearing date but it is subject to having answers to the questions that were raised. They aren’t difficult to answer, they can answer them.”

Sources said Republicans have not given any indication that they plan to use the information to stall the upcoming hearing or to block the nomination completely.

Committee members will have the chance to question Lew directly at the hearing next week.

“[They] have every right to bring these issues up, that is why we have the committee hearing,” Neary said. “No one is being stopped from asking any questions at these hearings.”

But of course there is no double standard here. Barack Obama was highly critical of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney for similar investments in funds based in the Cayman Islands, but now has the nerve to nominate an individual who has done the same. How hypocritical could Obama be? Obama obsessed over offshore tax shelters, but nominated someone who has done the very same that Obama claims to be against. What a joke. The Obama White House actually had the nerve to defend Lew and his investment by stating that Lew paid all his taxes on all of his income. As an American Thinker states, the point  is not that Lew disclosed or paid taxes on his income, the issue at hand is the idea that it is evil to have an offshore account – at least it was for Mitt Romney. The specter of an offshore account raise the issue of hidden income and avoidance of taxes. That was the story when Obama slandered Romney, but some hoe it a different story when it comes to Jack Lew.

“President Obama has been almost obsessively critical of offshore investments. He called Ugland House ‘either the biggest building or the biggest tax scam on record,’” Grassley wrote in a statement late Friday.

“For years, we’ve talked about shutting down overseas tax havens that let companies set up operations to avoid paying taxes in America,” Obama said. He said his budget proposal would crack down on businesses which incorporate in places such as Ugland House.

Grassley said of the contrast between Obama’s statements and Lew’s past investment, “The irony is thick.

Which One’s the Turkey? Obama Mocks Mitt Romney During Thanksgiving Turkey Pardoning of Cobbler and Gobbler

It would appear that  Barack Obama is still lost in smallness …

President Obama took a swipe at Mitt Romney during the annual White House Turkey pardon event. Should we have expected any less from the most polarizing president ever? Obama pardoned two turkeys, Cobbler and Gobbler, but managed to seem hold a grudge against Mitt Romney and mocked him during the pardoning event. Obama told the audience he had one more “gift” to give before the country moved “forward.”

“So in the spirit of the season I have one more gift to give,” Obama joked in apparent reference to Mitt Romney’s claim after the election that Obama won by giving “gifts” to minority groups, Obama said he was going to pardon the National Thanksgiving Turkey, named Cobbler, and his stand-in, Gobbler.

“The American people have spoken, and these birds are moving forward,” he added.

Hmm, Cobbler and Gobbler best not get their hopes too high. It would appear that the turkeys that Obama pardoned last year are pushing up daisies. Peace, one of the two turkeys that Obama pardoned last year was euthanized Monday. Obama and Obamacare could not save the turkey and it may just be a sign of things to come for Obama’s second term.

Peace, one of two turkeys pardoned by President Obama last year, was euthanized Monday, according to an official who insisted the timing of the death – days before the Thanksgiving holiday – was not suspicious.

Rebecca Aloisi, vice president for marketing at the Mount Vernon Estate, confirmed that Peace had been dead after a weekend “illness.” But Aloise knew neither the nature of the illness, the manner of death, nor what had been done with the remains of the large, edible bird.

30 Newspapers Switch to Endorse Mitt Romney over Obama in 2012

Newspapers are a microcosm of the mood swing of American voting sentiment from 2008 to 2012.

Add the Wisconsin State Journal and the New York Daily News to the  list of newspapers who have switched from endorsing Barack Obama in 2008 to Mitt Romney in 2012. Similar to how many Americans voted for Obama in 2008 and have switched to Romney in 2012, so goes the print media.  The endorsement from the Wisconsin State Journal went as follows:

… But this election is about jobs, the slow economy and Washington’s dysfunction. Our leaders can’t even pass a budget, much less stabilize soaring debt that’s burdening our children and grandchildren.

Obama failed to embrace his own commission’s bipartisan debt deal. Ryan, serving on the commission, similarly balked at the solid and comprehensive agreement.

But Obama is the president. The buck stops with him. This is now Obama’s economy, …

This is quite astonishing that so many liberal newspapers have changed their endorsement and gone away from Barack Obama.

CNN’s ‘State of the Union’s’ Candy Crowley calls Romney … President Romney

Its a sign … the liberal MSM is getting used to referring to Romney as President Mitt Romney.

This morning on CNN’s ‘State of the Union’, Candy Crowley referred to Romney when asking a questions to Senator Portman (OH-R) as President Romney. Freudian slip or is she just getting used to the next four years?

Transcript from NewsBusters:

CANDY CROWLEY, HOST: You have in Ohio a jobless rate that is better than the nationwide jobless rate, and you have an auto bailout that the President put in place that’s highly popular. What is it in this state that makes you think that President Romney, uh, sorry, Governor Romney can overcome those particular statistics and the feel of the voters?

SENATOR ROB PORTMAN (R-OHIO): I like your Freudian slip on President Romney. That sounded good.

Obama Panic Alert … Ohio Democrats Already Down 270,000 Votes From 2008

Team Obama, his minions and the in the tank liberal MSM have touted that Obama was overwhelmingly ahead in his ground game and early voting. NOT SO FAST.

Last night Senator Rob Portman (OH-R) spoke with Sean Hannity discussing voting in Ohio and Mitt Romney’s chances of victory. According to latest reports, 230,000 fewer Democrats have voted early in Ohio this year. Also in contrast, 40,000 more Republicans have voted early in Ohio this year.

Gallup states that Romney is up by 7 over Obama in early voting. We will only know on election eve who has been telling the truth when it comes voter turnout.
