Chaos at Aruban Airport … I Thought They Knew how to Deal with Tourism in Aruba?

What isn’t chaos when it comes to Aruba? Missing persons, murder investigations and crowds at the airport … they all begin to look the same.  Just another example that tourists come second in Aruba.

All we ever hear is that Aruba is supposed to be the #1 location spot in the Caribbean to go. That they treat tourists well. Really? At least that is what he hear from those that are responsible for marketing Aruba’s tourism; however, are they really? They can’t even seem to handle matters at the airport. Understaffed? Aruba has an excuse for everything. With the airport is under-staffing. With their decline of tourism it was hotel rooms being renovated and the high price of fuel. With the Natalee Holloway investigation it was blame on the media and the family. Take some responsibility folks … you have no one to blame but yourselves.

Arub Airport

Are these people capable of handling anything? Its not like they do not know in advance or have a very good idea what the volume is going to be like. I guess the blame falls on the tourists here as well. Exactly how is it that in what is presumed to be the busiest time of the year one allows their staff to be on vacation? Aruba acts like its new to this tourist thing.

Due to the immigration department being understaffed, the travelers were forced to queue up outside the terminal.

They are very worried about the coming weekends, especially the Christmas and New Year ones that traditionally are the busiest periods at the airport.

Aruba: Death Due to Dengue after Woman Battled Leukemia

Death due to dengue, One Dengue Island …

Imagine battling, beating and surviving leukemia. Then have your leukemia go in to remission, only to go to Aruba and Denguedie from dengue? A woman returned from the Netherlands after being treated for leukemia only to die from dengue after returning to Aruba. Is there something in the water, other than the dengue? One wonders how Aruban officials will blame this poor woman for contracting dengue?

ORANJESTAD – A 26-year old woman died from dengue last week.  This woman has leukemia and had recently returned from the Netherlands, where she was treated for leukemia.  She was in remission when she came back to Aruba and a dengue infection was fatal for her. (Amigoe, 12/8/07)

Aruba (Dengue): “How can people understand the seriousness … if they are not informed?”

We are still talking about Dengue? Or is this a metaphor for pretty much every thing that occurs on Aruba where the Aruban officials attempt to misinform not only their people, but the world? So its not just misinformation regarding Natalee Holloway, its a pattern.

Joran Van der Sloot: “I think that I would not have made it in the United States.” Joran, That’s Because there would be No Cover Up

Joran Van der Sloot continues to taunt the family of Natalee Holloway and shove it in the face of America of what he got away with. Who would really want to go to ARUBA that would allow this to happen?

Joran Van der Sloot may have said the first truthful words from his mouth since Natalee Holloway disappeared in Aruba over 2 1/2 years ago, “I think that I would not have made it in the United States.” Joran, that is because this crime would have been investigated like every other missing persons case and there would have been no cover up to protect you. Like every other missing persons case in the US where the suspect last seen with the victim is guilty.

Yes, this case would have been much different in the US; however, you will always be known for what you did no matter the preferential treatment that you were provided. Also, Aruba will always be known as the place where Natalee Holloway went missing and was killed, while being provided no justice by Aruban officials. Aruba should be ashamed of itself. You purposely botched the investigation and then botched the prosecution.

Yes Joran, you can thank your lucky stars that you had dady’s friends help. However, that does not change the fact that you have a much more important day of reckoning and judgement ahead that will make all this pale in comparison.

They would finish me off in the US, Amigoe: 12/8/07

Joran, by now nicely shaved, on his way to the supermarket, while enjoying his freedom.

ORANJESTAD – Both lawyers had assured that after days of isolation, Joran van der Sloot would not want to say one word to the media.  Especially his parents are concerned.  On Friday afternoon, a few hours after his release, while walking back home from a supermarket in Noord with his younger brother, he was still willing to give a first reaction.  People in the supermarket have already been whispering: “he’s back”, “What has he endured”, and “It’s such a nice family”.  He doesn’t seem to be worried to walk over the street.  “I think that I would not have made it in the United States.”

Jossy Mansur Provides an Opinion on the Actions of Aruban Prosecutor Hans Mos

GET THE OPINIONS OF JOSSY MANSUR AS TO WHAT HAPPENED WITH ARUBAN OM MOS

It has become obvious to us and to the independent part of the population that the prosecutors will only act on behalf of the government against its opponents, but never….and I will repeat NEVER against the corrupt Ministers and Parliament members of the ruling party. (Jossy Mansur)

One really has to wonder what Aruban prosecutor Hans Mos was thinking by his Jossy 1recent actions in re-arresting Deepak Kalpoe, Satish Kalpoe and Joran Vander Sloot claiming that he had new evidence. Why did he waste anyone’s time, including both Beth and Dave Holloway in having them fly to Aruba? Hans Mos does all of this based on a lie?

Is there anyone involved in this case that is capable of telling the truth? If we can’t get the truth out of the prosecutors office, how could we ever expect the truth out of the suspects?

How does a prosecutor go from having new evidence in a re-arrest to having nothing and talk of closing the case with no prosecution of any crime? Why does the cover up continue and why does this prosecutor act like he was told to shut up? Jossy Mansur also made it known that DIARIO will not stop in the pursuit of the truth in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. We asked Jossy Mansur, the managing editor of Diario, his opinion on this matter.

Natalee Holloway 2

I wish I could give you a proper answer, but I have the same dilemma of belief in the prosecution. I don’t know how Moss could risk re-arresting the three suspects, give such confident interviews, speak with so much determination about his new evidence, and then suddenly is willing to throw in the towel and put an end to his resolve. Was it just a show, a public exhibition of “we did everything that we could, but at the end couldn’t”, prior to closing the case and attempt in the process to put up a front of “good intentions” and nothing else? It seems so from this new perspective that he himself has created. It brings to mind the opinion that “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”!

We at the DIARIO have been questioning other incomprehensible attitudes of the prosecuting department on other matters with concrete, documented facts. It has become obvious to us and to the independent part of the population that the prosecutors will only act on behalf of the government against its opponents, but never….and I will repeat NEVER against the corrupt Ministers and Parliament members of the ruling party. In short, the majority of the people in Aruba are convinced that politics has a lot to do with the prosecution’s decisions.
