Aruba: More attention on sexual abuse of handicaps

The following story from Amigoe is just plain disturbing, “More attention on sexual abuse of handicaps.” Obviously this issue would not be brought up if there was not a problem with this that currently existed. Its not just the handicapped they may want to pay attention to, how about all women on Aruba, natives and tourists?

Sexual abuse of minors and mentally handicaps will receive more attention.   That is the result of an assignment in Aruba that Corine Melis finished recently.   Melis is police inspector with the National Police Corps Services in the Netherlands.

With Posters in Papiamento and Dutch, the attention of the population is fixed on the duties of the Youth- and Vice Squad.   The sexual abuse of minors and mentally handicaps is still a taboo on the island.

Surprise, surprise … the weakest and most vulnerable, the mentally handicapped, are sexually abused. It sounds very much like other scenarios where the weakest and most vulnerable among groups of tourists are chosen as well. What is most amazing is the fact that Aruba claims they had no one qualified to interrogate the mentally handicapped. Seems they have no one able to deal with the non-mentally handicapped either.

There was a need for Melis’ instructions, because the Police Corps in Aruba had no expertise in-house for the interrogation of mentally handicaps.

Before she joined the Police Corps, she was youth leader in an institution for mentally handicaps.   Once with the police, she became youth- and vice detective.

“The Line Up” Discusses Natalee Holloway Disappearance … Joran, There is no Perfect Crime … Just Remember that

Last night on Fox News, Kimberly Guilfoyle discussed the disappearance of Natalee Aruba 3 suspectsHolloway in Aruba. A couple of interesting points came to light. Even though Ed Miller of America’s Most wanted has his doubts whether the case can be solved and that it may be the perfect crime, Ed is not privy to everything. Gee Ed, I am sure John Walsh would have loved your attitude when searching for his missing son

This could well be the perfect murder because there is just so much confusion involved in this case, it goes this way, it goes that way, it goes this way, I maintain it goes back to the missing lobster trap that somehow the body ended up in the lobster trap and taken out into deep water and now there’s nothing left. Therefore without a body, without evidence, it’s going to be very difficult to prove. As far as we’re concerned, America’s Most Wanted, we’ve looked into this case several times and it’s really coming up pretty much a dead end. (Fox News)

The fact remains that I would dare say that AMW is not privy to what Scared Monkeys is when it comes to the behind the scenes details of this case or searches. The reason being is that we don’t make things public for ratings. Information that is gained is done so to help find missing persons, not have pundit positions on Fox News (hint). Exactly who is to say that there will be no more searches that may recover evidence?

The other point that was made by Rod Wheeler was as follows:

In Aruba its not About the decrease in Tourism, but the Increase in Drugs

So what is the #1 money maker in Aruba, tourism or drugs? Can one only imagine the Cocainepacsamount of cocaine, heroine, marijuana, XTC, etc that get through without being confiscated? How can an island have this type a problem when it is so small, confined and every one knows every one?

In the first 11 months of 2006, 3000 kilo cocaine was intercepted in Aruba.  This is 9 percent more than in the entire year of 2005.

In the report, Aruba is still being considered as a transfer place for drugs via airplane and cruise ship to the US; not so much to Europe.  Besides, it is remarkable that heroine is being mentioned as number one and cocaine as number two, while considering the amounts that were intercepted, you would expect the contrary.

Aruba_map1

The report in Amigoe states that there are known drug gangs on Aruba. That they are active and that drugs can be purchased at ones convenience. Exactly how is it possible that an island so small where everyone knows everyone that such things are can go on without the police or government’s knowledge? Aruba is only so big. There are only so many places to search and people to question, yet it continues.

Aruba, “One Happy Island:” Justice Minister Rudy Croes Blasts director Myrna Jansen of Aruba Tourism Authority

One Happy Island, huh. Can’t we all just get along? Not on Aruba and not when the private tourism sector is in direct Rudy_Croesconflict with government denial. What is the Aruban government and Justice minister Rudy Croes afraid of, the truth?

Croes says that the report states that criminality in Aruba has negative consequences for the tourism.  He called this nonsense.

Nonsense? Actual Minister Croes “nonsense” would be the continued denial on your and Aruba’s part that crime does exist and that it has a direct impact on why your tourism is in the tank. STOP LYING TO PEOPLE! Maybe we should take a look at the crime and murder on Aruba. You would attack someone within the Aruban tourism sector for speaking the truth. The ATA witnesses the destruction of Aruba’s tourism on a monthly basis. Maybe Minister Croes would like to offer an answer as to the plight of Aruba’s tourism.

The minister says that these kinds of assumptions hurt Aruba, while from the figures it actually appears that the criminality has dropped, considering the enormous increase of the population and compared with other countries.

Myrna_Jansen

It is not the assumption that hurts Aruba, its the reality. Earth to Rudy Croes … Natalee Holloway was not an assumption. The manner in how suspects confessed and then somehow did not confess is not an assumption. The method in how the ALE pathetically investigated Natalee’s disappearance was not an assumption. The fact that Aruba has three suspects that they refuse to prosecute is not an assumption.

Joran Van der Sloot – Stephen Grant Comparison … How do crimes Differ? Sometimes its in the Confession

Sometimes the only thing that differs in a crime from being solved is the amount of help one receives to cover up the crime.

So many crimes that are committed have such similar MO’s. The anatomy of solving the crime; however, can be much different.

What happens when the police look for a confession vs. wanting to suppress one?

In the end one sociopath deserves another.
