President Obama Cancels Events in South America to Prove He is a Leader

A Day Late and a Dollar, make that a Couple Hundred Cruise Missiles and Act of war Short.

As Barack Obama’s war in Libya spirals out of countrol with mized messages from his Europen allies and from within his own government. Obama decides to cancel his vacation events in Latin America to show everyone that he is a leader and engaged. As the Fox News reports, Obama has canceled his sight seeing events. WOW, what sacrifice and shin in the game Mr. President. Barack Obama and the first family has cancelled their trip to the Mayan ruins.

Cancel the sight seeing. With the situation escalating in Libya, President Obama scrapped Wednesday’s his public schedule. He was expected to visit the San Andres Mayan Runins and meet with US Embassy staff. But instead, he will now spend the entire day at the American Embassy, where he is expected to participate in at least one conference call on Libya before returning to Washington a few hours ahead of schedule.

Throughout the Latin America trip, President Obama’s aides have insisted there is no reason to cut the trip short, that he can manage the situation appropriately from the road. Obama has been briefed regularly by his National Security Advisor Tom Donilon and also held conference calls with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen, Secretary of Defense Bob Gates, and Commander General Carter Ham.

Ahead of the trip, Press Secretary Jay Carney insisted there would be no reason to cut the visit short.

What an example from Obama of “Leadership in Action”.  From the beginning of this ill advised trip to South America, Obama was critized from all sides as to why go when the Middle East was in crisis. What a complete fiasco Obama’s military folly has become. Attacking a country with no message, no end gane, no real central control and now the Libyan Colaition falls apart.

Remember When Joe Biden Said … “If he gives authorization to war… without Congressional approval, I will make it my business to impeach him!”

Remember when Joe Biden said regarding President George W. Bush and if  he takes a nation to war in Iran without Congressional approval, I WILL IMPEACH HIM (VIDEO). Bush did got to Congress, did Obama?

Hat Tip: Drudge Report: ‘If he gives authorization to war… without Congressional approval, I will make it my business to impeach him!’ So does now VP Joe Biden feel the same regarding President Barack Obama and his military action in Libya? Make ni mistake about it, firing cruise missiles at another country is an act of war.

Democratic Virginia Sen. Jim Webb Critical of Obama Libyan Mission … “this isn’t the way that our system is supposed to work.”

Retiring Democrat Senators say the darndest things …

Yet another Democrat coming out against Obama’s militray action. It is not just Republicans and the Far Left that have been critical of the way Obama got the United States into another military skirmish, add Democrat Virginia US Senator Jim Webb to the list as well. So Barack Obama takes the case for getting the US involved in a military conflict with Libya thru the Unites Nationa but does not get approval from the US Congress? As retiring US Senator Jim Webb stated, ” … this isn’t the way that our system is supposed to work.”

But the United States’ participation in this military endeavor has raised some questions by Democratic Virginia Sen. Jim Webb. On Monday’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports” on MSNBC, Webb struck a critical tone when talking about the mission.

“If we’re going to discuss what’s going on in Libya now and in the future, we have to start with three basic considerations,” Webb said. “The first is we have a military operation that’s been put to play, but we do not have a clear diplomatic policy or clear statement of foreign policy that has accompanied this military operation. The second and the questions you were just asking are some that I’ve asked on the Foreign Relations Committee and the Armed Forces Committee, we know we don’t like the Gaddafi regime, but we do not have a picture of who the opposition movement really is.

Isn’t it amazing what one is willing to say about Obama when they are not running for office in 2012.

Who said that the “President Does Not Have Power Under Constitution to Unilaterally Authorize a Military Attack”? That would be Barack Hussein Obama in a Dec. 20, 2007 interview with the Boston Globe.  But of course its different know for the hypocritical Obama.

2. In what circumstances, if any, would the president have constitutional authority to bomb Iran without seeking a use-of-force authorization from Congress? (Specifically, what about the strategic bombing of suspected nuclear sites — a situation that does not involve stopping an IMMINENT threat?)

The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation.

As Commander-in-Chief, the President does have a duty to protect and defend the United States. In instances of self-defense, the President would be within his constitutional authority to act before advising Congress or seeking its consent.

Cruise Missiles Hit Kaddafi’s Compound in Libya, But He is Not the Target … Right?

Operation Odyssey Dawn was not supposed to target Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi, Kaddafi; however, don’t tell the cruise missile that hit in his residential compound that destroyed a three story administration building. We have been told by some that the mission is not to target Kaddaffi, other have said he might be.

A cruise missile blasted Moammar Gadhafi’s residential compound in an attack that carried as much symbolism as military effect, and fighter jets destroyed a line of tanks moving on the rebel capital. The U.S. said the international assault would hit any government forces attacking the opposition.

Oil prices jumped to nearly $103 a barrel Monday in Asia after the Libyan leader vowed a “long war” amid a second night of allied strikes in the OPEC nation. Jubilant rebels said they expected to bring him down in a matter of days.

It was not known where Gadhafi was when the missile hit near his iconic tent late Sunday, but it seemed to show that while the allies trade nuances over whether the Libyan leader’s fall is a goal of their campaign – he is not safe.

Half of the round, three-story administration building was knocked down and pieces of the missile were scattered around, according to Associated Press photographer escorted to the scene by the Libyan government. About 300 Gadhafi supporters were in the compound at the time. It was not known if any were hurt.

Wouldn’t it be nice to know what the real misson was in Libya and for Barack Obama to be honest with us rather than this PC garbage of not targeting Gadhafi. Are we really going through all this, with the expense per each tomahawk missile, merely to protect rebels or is this about regime change? Just curious, if Gadhafi is taken out, who takes control of Libya?

What is the end game and what is the end result in Libya?

To Target or Not to Target, What is the Libyan Mission … Kaddafi May Become Target of Air Strikes

To Target or Not to Target, What is the Libyan Mission … Kaddafi May Become Target of Air Strikes

What is the mission in Libya?

We were initially told that Operation Odyssey Dawn was not to target Libyan leader Muammar Kaddafi, but instead to protect Libyan citizens. Also, Senior US official says President Obama envisions US “heavy, kinetic action” lasting “days, not weeks”. Adm Mike Mullen, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff also stated that a stalemeate could leave Kadaffi still in charge and some how that would be deemed “MISSION ACCOMPLISHED”.

Libya: Mike Mullen admits stalemate could leave Gaddafi in charge.

The head of the United States military has admitted that despite the use of prodigious force against Libya a stalemate could ensue in which Col MuammarGaddafi remained in power.

Adm Mike Mullen, chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the outcome of military action from the air was “very uncertain” and made it clear that Washington did not see the goal of Operation Odyssey Dawn as removing the Libyan leader from power.
