Montana Man Gets 225 Years in Prison for Indecent Exposure
“Your behavior brought you here. … You have some irresistible temptation to go to the park even knowing what you faced,” Judge Haynes said. “You’re just not able to divert. You’ve demonstrated that twice in two communities across Montana.”
Michael Vick Faces the Music today in Dog Fighting Conspiracy Sentencing
Today is D-Day for Michael Vick as the disgraced and suspended QB of the Atlanta Falcons will find out his sentencing for his role in a dog fighting conspiracy. Vick faces up to 5 years; however, Federal sentencing guidelines suggested a year to 18 months. Recently, a federal judge sentenced two of Michael Vick’s dog fighting cohorts to 18 months and 21 months in prison. The prison terms for co-defendants, Phillips and Purnell Peace, were a little longer than prosecutors recommended. That cannot bode well for Michael Vick as he faces the music later today.
The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback faced up to five years at his sentencing by U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson. Federal sentencing guidelines suggested a year to 18 months. Vick pleaded guilty in August. In a plea agreement, he admitted bankrolling the “Bad Newz Kennels” dogfighting operation on his 15-acre property in rural southeastern Virginia and helping kill six to eight pit bulls that did not perform well in test fights.
UPDATE 1: Every Dog has its Day
Vick sentenced to 23 months in prison. If he gets time off for good behavior, the sentence could be reduced to 19 1/2 months, resulting in a May, 2009 release. Otherwise, Vick will remain incarcerated until October, 2009.
Can you say that at the earliest Michael Vick will not be in a football uniform until 2010? His skills were regressing during his playing days. One can only imagine what they will be like with a 2 year layoff.
UPDATE II: Vick spit on the legal system
No one has ever accused Michael Vick of having class or the capability of making proper decisions. He couldn’t make the proper reads and decisions on the field, why did anyone think he was capable of making them off the field?
RICHMOND, Va. – He chomped on chewing gum and wore his Nike Air Force 1 Mids – bright white to match the stripes on his prison garb – as he walked into federal court Monday to answer for his mistakes.
Only some of the mistakes that may haunt Michael Vick most, the ones that hurt his chances of ever again racing his Nikes around the NFL and should eat him up on the long, lonely nights behind bars are the one’s he committed since pleading guilty in connection to a dog-fighting ring.
Vick should have faced a sentence of 12-18 months after accepting a plea deal to conspiracy charges in August and promising full cooperation, honesty and to “make better decisions.”
Instead he made more bad ones, U.S. Attorneys claiming he failed to fully admit or take responsibility for his actions, practiced multiple counts of deception and tested positive for marijuana just weeks after promising the judge he’d avoid drugs. (Yahoo Sports)
Jossy Mansur Provides an Opinion on the Actions of Aruban Prosecutor Hans Mos
GET THE OPINIONS OF JOSSY MANSUR AS TO WHAT HAPPENED WITH ARUBAN OM MOS
It has become obvious to us and to the independent part of the population that the prosecutors will only act on behalf of the government against its opponents, but never….and I will repeat NEVER against the corrupt Ministers and Parliament members of the ruling party. (Jossy Mansur)
One really has to wonder what Aruban prosecutor Hans Mos was thinking by his recent actions in re-arresting Deepak Kalpoe, Satish Kalpoe and Joran Vander Sloot claiming that he had new evidence. Why did he waste anyone’s time, including both Beth and Dave Holloway in having them fly to Aruba? Hans Mos does all of this based on a lie?
Is there anyone involved in this case that is capable of telling the truth? If we can’t get the truth out of the prosecutors office, how could we ever expect the truth out of the suspects?
How does a prosecutor go from having new evidence in a re-arrest to having nothing and talk of closing the case with no prosecution of any crime? Why does the cover up continue and why does this prosecutor act like he was told to shut up? Jossy Mansur also made it known that DIARIO will not stop in the pursuit of the truth in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. We asked Jossy Mansur, the managing editor of Diario, his opinion on this matter.
I wish I could give you a proper answer, but I have the same dilemma of belief in the prosecution. I don’t know how Moss could risk re-arresting the three suspects, give such confident interviews, speak with so much determination about his new evidence, and then suddenly is willing to throw in the towel and put an end to his resolve. Was it just a show, a public exhibition of “we did everything that we could, but at the end couldn’t”, prior to closing the case and attempt in the process to put up a front of “good intentions” and nothing else? It seems so from this new perspective that he himself has created. It brings to mind the opinion that “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”!
We at the DIARIO have been questioning other incomprehensible attitudes of the prosecuting department on other matters with concrete, documented facts. It has become obvious to us and to the independent part of the population that the prosecutors will only act on behalf of the government against its opponents, but never….and I will repeat NEVER against the corrupt Ministers and Parliament members of the ruling party. In short, the majority of the people in Aruba are convinced that politics has a lot to do with the prosecution’s decisions.

Aruban Prosecutor Mos & Officials Gutless … Release Suspects and Now Want to Close Case of Natalee Holloway without Prosecution
First the Kalpoe brothers were released, then suspect Joran Van der Sloot was released. Now Aruban prosecutor Mos states that he will close the case in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway by years end. The cruel and despicable actions of Aruba continue against the family of Natalee Holloway. Why would anyone continue to drag a family through this horrendous nightmare and provide false hope?
Attorney John Q. Kelly of New York said he expects an announcement later this month that there will be no prosecution of van der Sloot or the other two suspects, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, who were released Dec. 1. Kelly represents Beth Holloway and Dave Holloway.
“The report of significant new incriminating evidence was misleading,” Kelly said. “It was the same evidence or lack of evidence they had from the very beginning.”
Kelly said his clients would not comment on van der Sloot’s release. Telephone messages left Friday with the Holloways were not returned.
Authorities re-arrested van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers Nov. 21 after finding what they described as “new incriminating evidence” in Natalee Holloway’s disappearance.
“It’s all a dog and pony show,” Kelly said. “I guess they thought it would be good PR to show they were still working on the case. But it amplifies the fact that they mishandled it from the beginning and continue to mishandle it.” (AL.com)
After all this build up, claims of new evidence and re-arrests, Aruban prosecutor states, “he will close the case of missing American teenager Natalee Holloway by the end of the month unless his office finds that there is enough evidence to charge someone with a major crime”.
The prosecutor, Hans Mos, said he would not comment about the kind of evidence his office is reviewing but that he does not anticipate finding Holloway’s remains and prosecuting a case without them would be “very hard.”
“We promised the suspects that after Dec. 31, we will not pursue the case,” Mos told The Associated Press Friday. “This investigation should end at a certain point.”
You sick and pathetic gutless examples of human beings … your job is to prosecute crimes. Not give up. Your job is also to prosecute suspects for what ever crimes you can, no matter if it is murder, manslaughter, rape or kidnapping.
The major crime was committed by all in Aruba that purposely botched this case. It is criminal that prosecutors will not even do their job.
Aruban authorities say they will officially close the Natalee Holloway case by Dec. 31 unless they find evidence that a “major crime” was committed.

Natalee Holloway Investigation: Kalpoe Brothers Released … Aruba Prosecutor Hans Mos will Appeal
Chief Aruban Public Prosecutor (OM) Hans Mos has stated that he will appeal the decision of the judge that allowed the release of suspects Deepak and Satish Kalpoe in the case of missing teen Natalee Holloway. The judge reviewing the case stated tat there was “serious ‘objections’ against them”, but not enough to keep them in custody. It does really make one wonder just what it does take to actually hold some one in Aruba.
The examining magistrate says that it’s true that the current dossier of the two suspects contains serious ‘objections’ against them, but not enough to keep them longer in custody. Custody based on the current evidence is not allowed. This evidence was the wiping out of traces of a crime scene and the spiriting away of a body, said a spokesperson of the OM.
Amigoe, Dec 3, 2007: Brothers Kalpoe are outside again
Chief public prosecutor Hans Mos indicated that the OM will appeal the decision of the examining magistrate to release the brothers Kalpoe from custody.
ORANJESTAD – The two fellow suspects of Joran van der Sloot (20), the brothers Deepak (24) and Satish (21) are again released from custody today. The Public Prosecutor (OM) has requested an extension of the custody today, but the examining magistrate ruled against it. The OM has meanwhile announced that she will appeal this decision.
