FBI not bringing Search Dogs to Aruba

The roller-coaster ride that is the Natalee Holloway investigation continues. As reported last night on Rita Cosby, ‘Live & Direct’, in an interview with Beth Twitty and Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch; the FBI is refusing to send cadaver dogs to Aruban to help in the latest search of the sand dunes.

The reason for the FBI refuses because “the Aruban police won’t say who tipped them off to start searching the dune two weeks ago“.

Rita asked Beth how outraged are you that the Aruban police won’t even give it to authorities this is the FBI. Rita I just don’t get it why won’t they seek out their help I mean just disclose who these witnesses are that have come forward and you know let’s do a coordinated search effort I mean the sand dunes they attempted this search what was it now two week ago Rita and it’s obviously that they cannot do it without some help so for the life of me I don’t have any idea why. Rita said outrageous not to share the information especially with the authorities

ABRAMS: A couple of hours ago before we got this late news we spoke with Natalee’s mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, and to her attorney John Kelly. I began by asking Beth what she makes of Aruban authorities asking questions in Alabama.

BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY’S MOTHER: Oh boy, it’s hard to sort through it all. I mean you know when I’m listening to the things that have happened over the last eight months and you know when you just hear things as simple as how the FBI is allowing the Aruban officials here in the United States to conduct these interviews and you know they’re presented even in, you know in English, it’s just amazing to me, and I think of how difficult it was for the FBI in Aruba when they were not even allowed in the interrogations and they’re presented in Dutch. I mean you know we were at such a disadvantage from the beginning. It’s just incredible.

ABRAMS: Beth, I want to ask you about a comment that you made back at the end of October about the possibility of getting these additional statements from Natalee’s friends and I want to ask you if your view on this has changed.

You said they have all the statements that they need from the FBI regarding the students being on the island that evening. They just need to look at them. They do not need to be advertising for these students to contact them. They have the statements. There’s nothing else that they need.

Beth Twitty will be speaking about her new safety program as well as earlier in the day she will be attending Teketria Buggs’ school and be doing a presentation with the kids. Teke was the little girl that TES found deceased on December 15.

Also speaking will be other family members with missing or deceased persons such as Barbara Rigsby, sister of David Pettiet, found in October, 2005. Teke’s mom will also be in attendance along with the lead detective from the Ft Bend Sheriff’s Dept that did a great job during the investigation. Members of the Houston Crime Stoppers and the Houston Corporate Paralegal Association will also be present. News Show 48 Hours will be there as well as local media to report on the event.

So why are Aruban investigators coming to Alabama? As you heard from Mike, we have Natalee’s mom, Beth Holloway Twitty. Beth, what’s your reaction to what’s happening now?

BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, NATALEE HOLLOWAY’S MOTHER: Well, you know, I—we’ve know that they were trying to arrange this for some time now. Looks like they’ve made it happen. And you know, I think what they’re trying to do is just close some holes in some of the statements that they’ve said that some of the students gave.

But you know, Rita, all along, I think they’ve had all the information that they’ve needed to go forward and press charges against these individuals. I mean, they knew the condition Natalee was in. They have admissions of the suspects to sexual assaults they committed against her. But you know, if they feel that this is the last necessary step in order to firm up the foundation to proceed forward, then, you know, the students have always been willing to come forward and help.

COSBY: What do you think they could say? Is there something that maybe, you know, talking to them face to face, that they could glean that they didn’t get? I understand all the other ones, Beth, were done over the phone before.

TWITTY: You know, Rita, I don’t have any idea. I really think that they’ve had all the information that they’ve needed all along. But you know, if they think they need to wrap up two or three more issues concerning that last night at Carlos and Charlie’s, then so do it and then let’s move on. And you know, Congressman Bachus is optimistic that once they take these necessary steps that they feel they have to, that they are just laying a firmer foundation to proceed forward in the investigation that could lead to a prosecution. So just going to have to believe that that is what’s going to happen.

On The Record with Tim Miller, Beth Twitty and Beth’s Private Notes

A little from Greta in a summary of events from Greta Van Susteren, “On The Record”:

Police got a tip that sent them to the Dunes.

Julian Renfro on phone.

Authorities did receive tip which lead them right back to the lighthouse. They will continue the same search tomorrow.

Greta asked any search of urgency. She said about 50 officers with police academy cadets. Greta asked did you get the idea that it was a grid search Julia said absolutely. Pretty much standing in line. She said it seams it was like in October that they were doing searches there as well. Dompig was there with the entire detective team.

Tim Miller is on the Phone and got the green light on everything. Wants to keep planning to bring stuff over there. Was very pleased with the meeting today. Were searches different than before. Tim said absolutely. They are kind of glad that they are going to be in that deep of water and are optimistic.

Beth said it caught her by surprise. Tim Miller was laying the ground work to do the underwater search. It makes it seems more real now Greta.

Beth has been to the area by the lighthouse. How does it fit into this Beth said it has always been a suspicious area and was an area of concern of Dave’s also.

Joran statement the first one which was a lie said he went to that area. When he mentions the sand dunes it ends abruptly.

Beth said she knew about the fisherman huts broken into as early as July. Greta asked if she ever heard of Joran or the other two having access to a boat. Beth said yes they have and he even has a really good friend of his named Keon and talked about Koen’s father having a boat and also someone that has really concerned them is Steve Croes who has access to a boat. For some reason he did not come to protect Joran he has some information. He came forward as a witness and they determined he was lying. What information he has weather he has access to a boat that night yes it very possible that these boys have done something with her body in the water absolutely.
