Presidential Elections are about the 3 C’s … Credibility, Courage and Character … Remember that when You Vote for McCain or Obama Today
CREDIBILITY, COURAGE AND CHARACTER
A tip before voting … After all the political rhetoric, after all the political speeches and after all the political commercials, debates and spinning. When one goes to the poll to cast their vote (hopefully they are legally registered to vote and vote only once) your decision should be about the credibility, courage and character of a candidate. Not the hype, the promises or the claims of change. When it comes down to it all we really have is our credibility, courage and character. That is ultimately what we vote for.
All too often, no matter who what the party affiliation is of the candidate, promises are made and things are said that will never come to fruition. However, credibility, courage and character are always there and are the only thing that a voter really has when the curtain is closed and the choice is to be made. It is not about a political ad, a promised entitlement or a far fetched political promise. It is certainly not about how slick one may speak and the promises of change.
For myself and hopefully many others, in the end there are only these 3 C’s that determine how an individual will govern and what type of leader they will be. Forgetting all past candidate associations like Obama and Ayers, Wright, Rezco, and former terrorist spokesman Rashid Khalidi. Do those who one associate with matter, they certainly do. However, we will look at the defining moments that speak volumes about the two candidates. Think really hard about the following two scenarios as they are like night and day and tell us, “We the People” all we really need to know.
Does being a POW qualify one to be President of the United States? No. However, it certainly defines one character and courage. Character is defined by what a person does when no one is looking. When there is nothing to gain. Only God is watching. When the moment of truth was placed upon John McCain in going home from Vietnam or have the torture and beatings continued, McCain made the decision to place his fellow soldiers and country first. Imagine in the “me first” society of today having the decision to take the easy way out or face a most certain misery. John McCain chose country over his own self. As Sarah Palin has said many times during the campaign, there has really only been one person in this Presidential campaign who has fought for his country.
For 20 years Barack Obama sat in the pews at Trinity United Church in Chicago. For 20 years he listened to the reverend Wright and his numerous sermons. For 20 years Barack Obama had no problem with Wright or the message. Personally, it is an individuals choice to attend the church that they are most comfortable with. That is a person’s individual choice. For 20 years while no one was watching Obama sat back and never had an issue. However, when the spot light was on him and the world saw Reverend Wright and what the church was all about … Obama made the politically expedient move and quit the church. Honestly, I would have had more respect for Obama if he had stayed. For his own political career, and for himself alone, Obama left a church where he went for 20 years. Even Jerry Nadler recently commented, “Obama didn’t have the political courage to make a statement and walk out.” What does that tell you about one’s character, courage or credibility?
The information is out there America, you just have to wake up an inform yourself. Character does matter. In the end … its all that we really have.
We have seen this act before. In 1976 with a disgruntled American electorate still upset with the Nixon Administration America voted in Jimmy Carter, an inexperienced politician and peanut farmer from Plains, GA. The stagflation, misery index and double digit interest rates, unemployment and inflation that followed was catastrophic. The gas lines, odd-even fuel rationing and miserably failed foreign policy with Iran and the former Soviet Union ruled the day. People wanted change in 1976 and were angered by the previous Presidents administration. The promise of change is some times is not a good thing as one never really knows if the change is beneficial for a country.
Change is not one of the 3 C’s of electing a candidate for President for one obvious reason. It is a knee jerk, emotional reaction to a present situation. As we have learned in life, never is anything as good or as bad as it appears to be. However, there is always someone telling us it is the best or worst of times for their own agenda. Ask the voters of 1976 is they wished they could change their vote? Well, in 1980 the American voter had another opportunity to right a wrong and elected Republican Ronald Reagan in a landslide.
Barack Obama and Joe Biden may be looking out for you with entitlements; however, John McCain and Sarah Palin are looking out for America. Remember that when you vote today. Not wanting to pay higher taxes is not selfish. Wanting other people’s money for doing nothing is.

Obama has won Ohio.Huge black turnout all over state.
2 years ago, the dems. took over congress and promised great “changes”. all that got us was less control and more denials about the fannie mae, freddie mac debacle that they espoused, plus $4.00 gasoline because of the stupidity of their energy policies. now, obama is calling for “a time of change” and if that happens we’ll get a change all right. just not the kind we want, need, or expect. it will be just one more time that the change equals jumping out of the skillet into the fire.
dennisintn
I made my decision weeks ago when they both ran to Washington and endorsed the bailouts. The polls had me believe a vote for McCain would have little impact in Minnesota, so I chose the Libertarians to send a message that Washington needs to stop taxing and spending. Don’t Tread On Me!!!
Obama has NOT won Ohio and will NOT win Ohio.
High black turnout due to those that actually work (white) have not voted yet.
We will!
Jack
The polls are still open in Ohio, am I right? I don’t see how he can claim victory until the polls close and the votes are all tallied, unless he’s bought the election already.
1. Jack…not true electorial votes are not in yet! McCain will win election today as our new President!
Keep communists out of the White House pleazzzzze!
Chicago has asked companies to let employee’s leave at 3pm or prior to due to the mass
crowds of people that will be coming to the
city.
I am leaving early….to avoid having to
run into OBamination face to face!
according to Jesus”a person is known by his fruits”. and the fruit of obama is abomination of a wicked liar and cunning deceiver.promoter of black muslim (hate) doctrine. a friend of islamic terrorists, enemy of isreal. he is no more christian than hitler or marilyn manson.
he is also pro abortion and the demonic horror of partial birth abortion.
and of course, how else would he win without the black vote and promise of reparation ?
Be careful Super Dave or these liberals that visit this site will call you a racist.
Remember also, folks, that approval ratings for Congress are LESS than the dismal figures for Bush and are flirting with RECORD, HISTORIC LOWS.
Both sides expect the Democrats to make some gains in Congress.
So imagine the nightmare of Obama coupled with a strong Democratic Congress … and imagine more tax-and-spend programs, more hubris on the part of those in power, and more celebrities oohing and ahhing as they dance around TV sets, poisoning the minds of our young people and degrading our already flailing society.
Is THAT what you want?
The best outcome we can hope for is a divided government … a Republican president coupled with a Democratic Congress. That way, the ensuing tug of war will limit the government’s ability to do anything.
And by the way, as I’ve said before … Obama pledged to abide by public spending limits if McCain would do likewise.
McCain did. Obama didn’t.
Do you want MORE money injected in the political process?
God help our country.
Meanwhile, just think how much better off we would be, in every way, if my nomination of moderator Klassen had taken off….
#9. Super Dave… So true… I mean most of the blacks are voting for him except a hand few.
This is so racist to the core! Those black people are doing exactly what the white anti-black people did “they are discrimating” against McCain because he is white and voting for O’Bama because he is black.
Those who are black Christians will have to face a higher power, higher than their black O’Bama and God will judge them for choosing abortion over God’s law for life. How stupid they have sold their souls to the devil!
Remember, folks, that this country was founded in large part because of rebellions against what were perceived to be unfair taxes (think Boston Tea Party). We didn’t like a foreign power ruling us.
Today, the foreign power is in Washington, D.C.
Overstatement? Sure, but you get my point.
How much do we know about the Electoral College?

Barack Obama’s Kenyan family to celebrate by slaughtering bulls, chicken and goats.
Oh where are all those dems.. calling Sarah Caribou Barbie and making sick comments.?
I think it’s pretty racist to decide the because there is a black turn out, it means they voted for Obama. It may be true, but how can anything think it’s any thing but racist that an election depends on skin color?
#10 He is a racist. Maybe he doesn’t realize there are a helluva lot of white educated people voting for Obama.
Hmnnnnn…..I agree again with #17. The comment from #1 was racist in itself—big black turnout? What the hell??? What does it matter about the skin color of who is so far showing up to vote??? The key is ….people are voting and appearing to turn out in record numbers…..It’s not over till the fat lady sings…
***McCain/Palin ’08***
If Obama does take it and the majority of electoral votes…is it too early to start drinking?
Well call it racist if you want but there are a helluva lot more Blacks voting in this election than ever before….Why do you think that is????
hmmmmmm
I think we need a campaign to change our way of campaigns in this country. In England, they have 4 (four) weeks to decide. A message that can’t get out in 4 weeks, isn’t a message, I say. This is craziness to have this campaign just go on and on and drive everyone to drink!!! Not to mention the money spent. Well, been nice knowing all of you if we have power cut off now due to no money to run the electricity all over the USA..
#4: “High black turnout due to those that actually work (white) have not voted yet.”
Look at the racism…it always comes out…sad.
#20 Because they’re Democrats and are tired of the Republicans running the nation? I’m white and don’t give a damn about color/race/religion, but I did vote for the man I think will not only be a great leader, but will unite cultures/races, etc.
***McCain/Palin ‘08***
If Obama does take it and the majority of electoral votes…is it too early to start drinking?
lol I think people are in for a big let down. No way with the debt we have can you tax the companies to give a 95% tax cut and pay for all the new programs proposed.
#2 Yes, because of Bush’s veto power. Duh!
The word here in Northern/Northeast Alabama is that voters are turning out in historic numbers, standing in line for hours, like in many other states across our great nation
Also, many Democrats here are voting a split ticket (voting McCain/Palin, then for Democratic candidates in local races) or crossing over to the Republican party altogether
Vote like your life depends on it today!! After all, it does…
I’ve said before..please show us things Bush veteod down that Dems wanted the last 2 years.

Journalists Will Get Last Paychecks Wondering What Happened
By Cal Thomas Published on 11/4/2008
More than the economy has melted down. What remains of big media credibility has also liquefied and won’t recover anytime soon, if it ever does.
Don’t take my word for it. The ombudsman for The Washington Post acknowledges that conservatives have a point when they claim an imbalance in coverage of Barack Obama and John McCain.
In her Nov. 2 column, Deborah Howell writes, “…it’s true that The Post, as well as much of the national news media, has written more stories and more favorable stories about Barack Obama than John McCain. Editors have their reasons for this, but conservatives are right that they often don’t see their views reflected enough in the news pages.”
In the tank for Obama
What might be “their reasons”? There is only one answer: Too many journalists have been in the tank for Obama and wanted to see him elected president. Some Post reporters (Howell doesn’t say how many) “complained to me that suggestions for issues coverage have been turned aside” in favor of horse-race coverage, despite reader complaints about too much coverage of the race itself and not enough of the candidates’ positions on the issues.
Journalism is the only profession I know that ignores the wishes of its consumers. If a department store found that most of its customers preferred over-the-calf socks to ankle-length socks, would that store ignore customer preferences for the longer socks because the president of the company preferred the ankle-length style? Not if the store wanted to make a profit in the sock department. Yet journalists have this attitude: “we know what’s good for you, so shut up and take it.”
Howell calls this arrogance, “a disease easily caught by journalists, who can overlook its symptoms.” One sees this on cable TV. Larry King will assemble a “panel” of journalists to answer the question “Are the media biased?” The journalists declare they are not and that is supposed to settle the matter. In only the rarest of cases are they confronted with their biases and held accountable.
That is because, as Howell writes, “We believe that we have a collective ‘nose for news’ and the judgment to know best what readers need to know and how to present it. We believe in our own wisdom and experience and in the purity that keeps us out of politics and special-interest groups. We have our own rules and we don’t change them. We seldom ask for input from readers. We believe that if it weren’t for us, the world couldn’t be as well informed and democracy wouldn’t operate as it should.”
Big media locked in outdated liberalism
Re-read the sentence, “We have our own rules and we don’t change them.” That is what’s wrong with modern media. Everything else gets updated, including our computer software, but the big media won’t change. They remain locked in a ’60s liberalism and a supreme self-assurance that only they know what’s best for the country. When information options were fewer, they could get away with it. No more. News consumers now have many choices.
The media rationalize their loss of readers and viewers by blaming the Internet and alternative media, like talk radio and cable. But if big media had practiced balanced coverage, chances are that talk radio and cable news might not exist. These prosper because they circumvent the biases of the established media.
You know things are bad when journalists begin admitting bias. Columnist Michael Malone wrote on ABCNews.com that campaign coverage has been so biased, he is ashamed to tell people he is a journalist. The Colorado Springs Gazette carried an opinion column about “The Death of Objectivity,” which criticized slanted coverage.
Most people will never meet a presidential candidate so their impressions are formed by media coverage. If McCain is portrayed as old and out of touch, rather than experienced and toughened by his prisoner of war experience and Obama is presented as young, hip and “news,” that leaves an impression on those voters who don’t dig beneath the superficial.
The media now own Barack Obama. Let’s see how long they take to turn on him once he starts making mistakes. The public has already turned on big media, but big media is too into denial to notice. People are no longer buying their product; newsrooms are being downsized. “Journalists” are now left to wonder what happened to their once-great profession, as they pick up their final paychecks.
(end of article)
Note in particular these two lines: THE MEDIA NOW OWN BARACK OBAMA. LET’S SEE HOW LONG THEY TAKE TO TURN ON HIM ONCE THEY START MAKING MISTAKES.
Remember, Jimmy Carter came in with everyone bowing down … precisely because he was not an insider Washington type. People were tired of what we had seen … so, accordingly, anyone new and untested was somehow better.
He left universally condemned as incompetent.
#23 Oh yeah…that must be it since those same democrats voted in 2004 as well…yes i remember now….
No I don’t care about the man’s skin color I have said that a hundred times. I voted Republican because I’m a conservative and I agree with the policies of the Republican party. IF a black man is nominated for the Republican party in the future then I will vote for him….
I happen to know people who are voting for him only because he’s black and they have no clue what his policies are….So stop with the racist crap….Just because we happen to have an opinion that differs from yours does not make us racist….
I cannot bring myself to vote for anyone in favor of abortion. I am pro-life, I am pro-gun and I am against gay marriage. A marriage is unity between a man and a woman. I’m also against “spreading the wealth”.
I was never in favor of the war but I am in favor of defending our freedom from terrorist both foreign and domestic.
I do not believe Universal Health Care will work.
None of these issues I’ve mentioned have anything to do with Black & White.
And if you think that more blacks are not voting for Obama because he is black then you need to wake up and smell the coffee because it’s happening whether you want to believe it or not.
i’ve been called a racist, klan member, bloody sheet wearer, whatever. i let all my fellow black employees read my comments and theirs and they think it’s hilarous that these white people on this site pretend that they are black friendly.
they know i’m no more of a racist than they are.
fact is, everybody has some racist in them, every nationality, every person.
according to my fellow employees, white people who try to be black are most embarrasing .

Richard good article. It is not the media’s place to do fluff pieces on one candidate while making up anything and everything about the other. When and if things go wrong, as it eventually always does, let’s see if they accept part of the blame..
Obama started campaigning on tax cuts, cutting govt programs, even on pro life issues.. part of what McCain has been saying all along. far left Obama loses the middle , the middle he loses far left.
btw I agree with what you said about Rev. Wright. He is pathetic. I couldn’t listen to him for one sermon, let alone 20 years. What he said about Natalee Holloway was disgusting.
On the rev wright topic.. I remember when some were saying.. His words were taken out of context and he had done a lot of good for people on media outlets..and I believe Obama said that also. Yet when Don Imus made his comment, didn’t hear any of those people saying Imus had done a lot of good and it was taken out of context, they said get rid of him. Heard Don Imus talking about that today.
Spare us the bullshit Super Dave.
Wonder what those phantom employees thought of this:
SUPER DAVE on July 29th, 2008 6:25 am
SAM: tell me why osamabama doesn’t put as much emphasis on his white heritage as he does being a racist black ?
if it wasn’t for his “white” mother, he would have been just another thug in the streets selling crack and making babies for our tax dollars to support.
his mother was in his words an “average white woman”. he didn’t mention the fact that she raised him without a deadbeat father, put clothes on his back and food in his mouth
Super DAve…a real brother…thanks for all your efforts to enlighten those that stand in the shadow of darkness voting for O’Bamba
Super Dave – What did you do to piss yoyo muffintop off?
McCain is leading
McCain/Palin 08
#24- Maggie— I agree…..and…will Joe the Plumber check in with us tonight? Wonder if he wants a beer,,,,,,,I’m sticking with a good bottles of Cabernet.
#22- YoYo – What’s sad is that you are still posting the same crap after all this time….Oh, Cry us a river !!!

Welcome to the Socialist Republic of the United States…you wanted change, by God you got it.
Let’s see how well you like it when we have a repeat of the Carter Administration.
I’m watching FOX Obama has 207 McCain 129
It ain’t over yet….
The 44th President of the United States Barack Obama!
Obama won so now you can start crying!!!!!!!!!!
We shall now be called the Socialist Republic of the United States….What a sad day for America
Our founding fathers would be disgraced…..Say goodbye to your freedoms people…..
Congratulations America for making the right choice! We didn’t think we could leave such an important task as electing a president up to you, but for once you have done the right thing!!! Thank you!!!
#43.
American has spoken and the choice is Obama. Let’s just hope the US does not rue the day of this choice. We shall see what Obama is President. The one that talks a good game or the uber-lib that the MSM refused to cover.
However, I will say to you Dutch citizen and the rest of Europe. You all dare call the USA a racist country. Get back to us when you, France, England, Germany and the Netherlands elect a black President or PM.
Until that day … no one here really cares what you have to say.
Last night America burried many demons … its your turn Europe, or do you just want to throw stones from your glass house?

SM, I never said anything about race nor did I call America a racist country. Read my post! Frankly, I don’t give a damn whether Obama is purple, yellow, orange, white or black. It’s what he says and does that I like. And also that he is the first president in YEARS that actually inspires people from ALL backgrounds. That’s what will make America a great country again!
And have a look at the Dutch parliament and government. I think you will find many people from many different backgrounds. So stop the name calling please!
_________
SM: It was not pointed at you ,,, it was pointed at Europe in general.
Stop the name calling …. it is not us that calls teh US Amerikka.
Europe for years has done that. That will now stop.
We are waiting for Europe to elect a minority as the head of their country … not just to parliament.
#44
Oh Red, what I actualy meant was that I thought Americans are not very clever, but that’s beside the point now
_________
SM: Oh, so we are not just racists, we are stupid too? Not that clever???
Please … I forgot that Europe was so vastly superior in intelect. My bad ,,, we just be ignant poor folk.
As for Americans being clever … we shall see in 4 years, maybe sooner.
